  1. Yaay for the game.... but when is it coming? probably late next year.. and more map packS?? whatever happened to map pack 2... oh yea.. after over a year of Troubleshooting its still in Q/A w/ sony!!!! im w/ junk.. i will believe it when i see it... but i cant wait to see it! ::)

  2. do a system restore... go to your Start menu.. then go to "all programs" then to "accessories" then to "system tools" and click on "system restore"... close all running programs, and run the system restore to an earlier "system checkpoint" that you can find on different days through out your calendar that will pop up once you are in system restore wizard... this will work 9 out of 10 times.. IF THERE IS RESTORE POINTS... this is not always the case.. but my dad had a trojan virus that i fought for a bit until i finally just did a restore and dads pc is fine now.. i would take it back a week or two.. and NO FILES will be lost during a restore .. its only windows files... all others SHOULD BE fine..

good luck and pm me if i can be of more help...

  3. cant people have the same tag in socom now? and have been able too? i know the answer to this cuz there was a fake 503 clan .. sure enough from oregon as well.. this was in s2 and early s3.. they were not like us and were giving us a bad name.. and after a while they disappeared.. but they claimed to be the 503 bluntsmokers... and had tags and clan to prove it.. so i dont see this as being a "negative" i havnt played online enough to reach ranks of 'clans' and what not.. are we sure that a level 50 doesnt open up a clan roster?? just a thought...

Yeah and then when I saw PSP, I was disappointed!  :'(

same... clicked another email to open it.. while the second went by of loading my eye caught the other email and picked up on "playstation" and "socom" so i instantly clicked "Back" only to be disappointed as well...

  5. yea at this point i cant imagine why they would release them.. those who really wanted them clearly have harassed them to the point that even they are sick of waiting.. i dont know if i would even purchase them at this point.. people make such a big deal about maps that are on S2 disc.. which i have and about 1 time every other month 503 has an S2 night where we get on and scrimmage each other.. then we get to play DG, FF, NS..etc... all the classics that most are complaining about.. never really understood that other then the fact that zipper didnt make good on there promise.. but oh well i would much rather them focus on S4 then some old maps that i already have...kind of like getting Map Pack 1 again... OVERRATED good post though goat.. funny stuff..

Catch the Wave.. It's called the future. ;)

Future = 360 Fanboys? wow i had no idea hell was freezing over this year... nothing personal.. but if the future is broken consoles and extended warranties.. i think i would rather get hit by a semi...

  7. 503 = Oregon...

Most of 503 is from Oregon, a lil fun fact for ya.. Originally 503 members had to have a "bluntsmoking" habit as well as live in 503 area code.. for a while we had a crew of like 25 ppl that all lived w/ in 30 min of eachother and we would have BBQs and get togethers all the time.. about half way through socom 2 we picked up a few members from an allied clan that fell apart.. at the time we grabbed 3 members and they were all from canada.. so the rule became 503 or Canada.. that lasted for about another year.. and now we open to just about anyone.. although being close and having similar interests never hurts...

word any other Oregonians up in here besides 503??? havnt seen many Leftcoasters through out the posts...

  8. Back to the USB issues.. i have been using the same Flash drive for over a year now.. originally i had the maps on my ps2 HDD but when i got my slim i had to get the jump drive. now when i got my ps3 i had some troubles too.. but it was cuz the ps2 only had 2 USB ports.. and i assume that the games for ps2 would only recognize 2 ports.. so i moved my controller charging cable to the 3rd slot and used my mic and my flash drive in the first 2 spots. Since then i have had no probs.. although i dont use a KB anymore either.. my ps3 sits way up high and cords dont reach.. and yes im a cheap ass and dont want to buy more USB extensions.. anyways hope this helps

    Q: Beta?

A: There's a closed one going on right now, but only amongst staff and hand selected game testers.

    Q: Lagg?

A: At the moment, with 10,000 players currently testing the servers left right and center, it seems to be almost lag free. But we're expecting the total number of users online during peak hours to exceed 300,000 worldwide. So whether our servers can handle that kind of pressure, still remains to be seen.

hand selected 10,000 testers? im sure that didnt take any time ....

LOL. I have a ps3 and yet to buy a blu-ray movie because i have no money. I will though buy 300 on blu-ray and many other movies when i get money.

I have a 1080i so it still works out.

Actually it doesn't still work out ..lol

1080i is much different than 1080p

Blu Ray is not worth spending the money on if you dont have a 1080p TV.

I'm not going to commit to either format because i dont want to be that guy with a closet full of discs that dont have a player..

There will be plenty of them, but not me.

I'll wait it out, & once there is a clear winner, then i'll update my library. (besides you ever see the value of a betamax tape ..lol)

    Actually....

    1080p defined

1080p resolution--which equates to 1,920x1,080 pixels--is the latest HD Holy Grail. That's because 1080p monitors are theoretically capable of displaying every pixel of the highest-resolution HD broadcasts. On paper, they should offer more than twice the resolution of today's 1,280x720, or 720p, HDTVs, such as Samsung's HL-P5085W. Some companies, such as LG, refer to these super-high-res of sets as ultra-HD, while others prefer to substitute true or full for ultra.

Why 1080p is theoretically better than 1080i

1080i, the former king of the HDTV hill, actually boasts an identical 1,920x1,080 resolution but conveys the images in an interlaced format (the i in 1080i). In a tube-based television, otherwise known as a CRT, 1080i sources get "painted" on the screen sequentially: the odd-numbered lines of resolution appear on your screen first, followed by the even-numbered lines--all within 1/30 of a second. Progressive-scan formats such as 480p, 720p, and 1080p convey all of the lines of resolution sequentially in a single pass, which makes for a smoother, cleaner image, especially with sports and other motion-intensive content. As opposed to tubes, microdisplays (DLP, LCoS, and LCD rear-projection) and other fixed-pixel TVs, including plasma and LCD flat-panel, are inherently progressive in nature, so when the incoming source is interlaced, as 1080i is, they convert it to progressive scan for display.
