Greetings everyone! Chris King from NIS America here to give you a dose or two of exciting news! We are very happy to partner with Grasshopper Manufacture Inc. and Active Gaming Media Inc. to bring Suda51’s The Silver Case to PS4 in early 2017! The game will be available in North America and Europe as both a physical and digital release. The Silver Case is an HD remaster of the original PSone game by legendary developer Suda51 — creator behind masterpieces such as Flower Sun and Rain, Killer 7, Lollipop Chainsaw, and the upcoming Let It Die. And while you may be familiar with Suda51 and his more recent works of art, The Silver Case may not have been caught on your radar as it was only released in Japan for the original PlayStation (the good ol’ days). Fortunately for us, 15+ years later we all get to experience the English remastered version on PS4! In The Silver Case, you play as a member of the Special Forces Unit known as “Republic†with a mission to investigate the string of mysterious murders that plague the city. The detectives of the city have their eyes set on a man named Kamui Uehara, a legendary serial killer who went on a rampage of killings 20 years prior. Nobody knows who (or what) Kamui really is and what he is capable of. A mix between a visual novel and an adventure game, The Silver Case is visually satisfying, artistic, and wonderfully engaging. Simply put, if you enjoy Suda51 and the fascinating creations he’s bestowed upon us over these many years, you will surely enjoy what The Silver Case has to offer. That’s all for now! Welcome to VR Training Recruits! I’m Alex Ward and I’m Creative Director at Three Fields Entertainment. Today we’re announcing our latest game: Lethal VR. As a UK based independent developer, we’re excited to be partnering with the brilliant UK team at publisher Team17 for this game. Lethal VR gives players the chance to test their shooting and throwing skills in a virtual training environment. You’ll step into the shoes of an FBI Recruit and — if you’re good enough — recreate scenes from a few classic movies. In order to complete your training, you’ll have to master a variety of different weapons and techniques. You’ll be tested with both handguns and knives, submachine guns and throwing stars. We’ll track how fast your Quickdraw is, but also your speed, accuracy and consistency. Special scores are awarded for both Bullseyes and Headshots. Your scores will be tracked and your performance will be rated in over 30 different challenges spread across 5 simulations. Do you have what it takes to earn a “Lethal†rating in every challenge? As you successfully complete each Simulation, you’ll unlock some special Bonus challenges. These feature legendary weapons from the world of the movies. Online leaderboards will allow you to compare your scores against your friends on PSN. You’ll be able to test you skills with the following weapons: A gold plated gun inspired by the weapon in “The Man With The Golden Gun†A very big knife inspired by the knife in “Crocodile Dundee†A Magnum revolver inspired by the weapon in “Magnum Force†Throwing Stars inspired by those seen in “Kill Bill†A razor tipped Bowler Hat inspired by the one thrown in “Goldfinger†An automatic machine pistol inspired by the one seen in “Robocop†As developers, the arrival of PlayStation VR inspired us to think about both the stories we could tell and the worlds we could now allow you to step right into. We looked at some of the early demos and they set us thinking about the new types of games and experiences we wanted to create for PlayStation fans all over the world. Ultimately, what got us most excited was giving players the chance to actually take part inside the game world itself and be able to physically act out the key movements of the gameplay for themselves. Lethal VR was inspired by some famous sequences from some of my favourite movies. The first sequence is inspired by the opening sequence to 1991’s “Point Break†which shows Keanu Reeves being assessed on his shooting skills at an FBI training range. It’s an iconic sequence featuring very fast gunfire at a variety of targets in the pouring rain. The second sequence comes from the pistol shooting competition that features in the 1973 movie “Magnum Force†– the second “Dirty Harry†film. It shows Clint Eastwood compete against David Soul on a police training range in San Francisco. The scene is memorable as each character has to walk through a pretend street where different targets pop-up in front of them. The targets alternate between bad guys and friendly targets. The third sequence is based on the opening sequence from the 1974 Bond film “The Man With The Golden Gun†– and shows the villain’s lair on his private island. A gangster is lured inside and confronts several pop-up shooting targets before being dispatched by Christopher Lee. These sequences, and many more like that, have always stayed with me, and I’ve always wanted to try my luck on a shooting range like those shown in those movie clips. It turns out that in real life, it’s actually pretty hard to do! Real gun ranges often aren’t like you see in movies. The closest I came was back in 2006. I was directing a shooting title called Black for PS2 in my previous job as Creative Director at Criterion Games. I spent countless hours watching shootout scenes from popular action movies. I also spent a few days at a gun range in Las Vegas. They had a system that projected DVD video scenes onto a special wall that you could fire real bullets at. It was designed to train US police officers and tested their skills in a variety of different situations. However, it was nothing like the sort of gun range that Keanu Reeves or Clint Eastwood got to use. Nor did the targets pop up suddenly as either “friend or foe.†So I decided to start building the experience I’ve always wanted to play with the small but incredibly talented team here at Three Fields Entertainment. Paul Phillpot used the power of Unreal Engine to build the first gun range environment in the space of a few hours. He began work on both making the weapons feel right in your virtual hands and making them fire in a satisfying way. VR games have to run at a high framerate and Paul’s range design looks great and runs well on PS VR. Chris Roberts authored all 31 weapons challenges using his deep knowledge of action movies. This really helped us get gameplay up and running quickly. He focused on creating simple scenarios which would allow us to live out the fantasy of firing guns like an action movie superstar. Chris was the first person to dual wield our handguns in VR. And PS VR put him in the middle of his own John Woo movie for a few days! Phil Maguire and Alex Veal took on all the programming side of the development. Alex worked on all of the gameplay and scoring rulesets, also overseeing the HUD and FE implementation. Phil worked on tracking controls with the PlayStation Move controllers, and really nailed the feeling of throwing a virtual knife through the air. Alex has the fastest Quickdraw time in the office, but Phil is most deadly with dual throwing knives and throwing stars. Simon Phipps created all of the front-end screens, artwork, and FE flow. He also designed a brilliant original logo for the game. For the early part of the game development, we shot at the same black and white targets each day. However, we all feel that our game really came to life when Simon’s hand-drawn human ‘friend’ or ‘foe’ targets went into the software. His fast drawing talents really nailed an almost 1970’s comic book style for the targets. All sound effects and title music for the game were created in-house by John Guscott. John was inspired by Simon’s early 80’s “Hollywood computer†style of presentation – influenced by movies such as “WarGames†and “Blue Thunder.†The audio design captures not only the energy and intensity needed for each weapon, but also the larger-than-life style we wanted to accomplish. We’re excited to announce that PlayStation is partnering with ESL to introduce Tournaments, a new PS4 feature that will allow players to participate in Tournaments with games that gamers want to play. We’re kicking off the first Major tournament with NBA 2K17, to celebrate the beginning of the NBA season. The Major Tournament runs from October 27 to November 26, with Major Cup rounds occurring every Saturday. Top 3 winners of the NBA 2K17 Major Tournament will receive a prize pack that includes items such as a DualShock 4 and PlayStation gear. If you’re interested in entering, signups open today. You’ll need a copy of NBA 2K17, a PlayStation Plus membership, and link an ESL account to register and compete. The registration process will prompt ESL account creation if you do not already have one. Once tournaments are live, you can find them under Events on your PS4 system menu to view the details. Once you have signed up for a tournament, your PS4 will automatically prompt you when it is time to play your matches. “A slam-bam, non-stop action game.†That’s the phrase that we used when we originally presented our first Just Cause game concept and design for the team at Eidos back in 2003. Three years later, Just Cause was released and we are now celebrating a decade of chaos. Just Cause is so much more than a game to me. The way we approach game design, the way we work in our studio, how we are physically seated; a lot of that comes from the philosophy behind designing Just Cause. With all its playfulness, colorfulness, and ultimate freedom, the game is a perfect metaphor for how we run Avalanche Studios. I also think Just Cause is important to the open-world genre, and I know that we have inspired a few games to let go a bit of that seriousness. We’ve inspired developers to have their games less grounded in reality, because the opposite is so much fun. Rico is really the ultimate action hero and even though our worlds are realistic, Rico can do things most action heroes only dream of. Who cares, then, if he has a parachute that goes in and out of his back, if he shoots an infinite cord from his arm, if he jumps in and out of cars like a rubber man? It’s Just Cause! My original vision for the game was really simple. I wanted to make a game where players could skydive and land on a moving vehicle. Why? Because it’s fun and crazy. It was something I had never seen in a game before. Linus Blomberg, the other co-founder of Avalanche Studios, had this vision of a technology that could deliver infinite landscapes in explicit detail. That paved the way for a game where we needed lots and lots of vehicles of all kinds. The parachute was just a necessity from day one. The grappling hook however, was invented quite late in the project and I have to give some of the credit to our former Executive Producer at Eidos (which today is Square-Enix), Martin Alltimes. By this time, sometime in early 2004, we called it the Grapple Gun. We had a little trouble getting over that hurdle that we needed to explain the rationale behind everything in the game. That all changed in Just Cause 2 when we attached the grappling hook to Rico’s arm. All of a sudden, all bets were off. We had a game that offered more autonomy than any other, which obviously inspired our players to live out those action-hero dreams they carried inside of them. Causing chaos was a given, considering the tools at our players disposal, but the idea of actually making chaos into a game currency came in during the later phase of Just Cause 2. Now the game had become a chaos simulator. The more chaos you caused the more we rewarded you for it, because what can be more fun than blowing s**t up? Speaking of simulations, our worlds have always been just as strong characters as Rico himself. San Esperito, Panau, and Medici. All worlds with unique terrain, architecture, vehicles, and villains. These are playgrounds for destruction and have all been designed by taking pieces of reality and mixing them up in humorous and beautiful chaos cocktails. Lastly, I see our development team as much bigger than the team actually working on the game. Our players are just as much a part of the process as everyone at Avalanche Studios. The community and fans have inspired us to constantly improve and have come up with things to do in the game we could never think of. With every glimpse of the far-future world of Horizon Zero Dawn that we’re given, the version of Earth that Guerrilla Games is busily creating becomes ever more intriguing. It’s a world where human evolution has been thrown back into a pre-historic era, while simultaneously thrust into a distant future where humans are no longer the dominant species. Instead, a society of machines has risen up, at once both terrifyingly alien and strikingly familiar, mixing robotic, mechanized power with recognizably natural, organic animal features. During a recent visit to Guerrilla HQ, we were treated to a behind-the-scenes look at the machines that included a deep-dive into the very real evolution of the Shellwalker and an exclusive reveal of the Snapmaw — a huge, water based machine that bears more than a striking resembles to a giant crocodile. In this exclusive new video, studio boss Hermen Hulst, Game Director Mathijs de Jonge, and Art Director Jan-Bart van Beek talk us through how the machines evolved from initial concepts to become the apex predators in their forthcoming action RPG. Hard at work at their desks ahead of the game’s release date on February 28, 2017, members of Guerrilla’s legion of artists, animators, sound designers, and VFX whizz-kids showed us this evolution in action. Taking the Shellwalker as an example — the busy, cantankerous workers of the machine’s ecosystem who protect their cargo with fearsome determination — we saw the creative process from the very beginning; taking a rudimentary sketch of a crate-carrying walking platform and going back to nature to see how the real world would deal with the task. Using photographs of fiddler crabs and pistol shrimp for inspiration, the artists then adapted how these creatures gather food, carry their shells, and protect themselves against predators in a series of sketches that gradually began to take on more of the Horizon Zero Dawn aesthetic. Armor plating is added, then the back-and-forth between artist and animator begins to ensure natural movement balances with the game design and that the Shellwalker moves, attacks, and defends itself in a way that makes it a useful worker for the machines and a challenging foe for Aloy. Earlier, in a play session that saw Aloy take on a savage Thunderjaw, override and mount a roaming Broadhead and pick up quests from the inhabitants of the vast, post-historic world, Mathijs gave us the first glimpse of the Snapmaw in its natural habitat. Lurking on the banks of an idyllic river valley, these mechanised crocodiles live in packs and, as Aloy approached them, move with terrifying speed and ferocity, using their vast jaws and thrashing tails to devastating results. As with the other machines of Horizon Zero Dawn, they have weaknesses that Aloy can tactically exploit — but they’re a brutal reminder than nowhere in this world, whether in water, on land, or in the air, is a safe haven for humans. Nearly two years ago I had the pleasure of announcing that Snow, our free-to-play, open world winter sports game, would be coming to PS4 as a console exclusive. When this announcement was made, we had just launched our PC Alpha and have since been working through a long list of new features and content that we wanted in the game for Snow’s launch on console. We’ve been working together with our incredibly supportive and insightful community to develop the game into the experience we believe best represents the sports and the majesty of the mountain — and we’re nearly there. So without further ado, I’m proud and excited to announce that on October 25 our massive, open-world mountain will be open to skiers, snowboarders, and snowmobiles in the PS4 Snow Beta! Since we first announced Snow on PS4, a lot has changed. Sialia, our open-world mountain, is now full of unique areas to explore, including a cargo plane wreckage, an ancient castle, and a mountain observatory — to name a few. There are more than two dozen drop points on the mountain, each with a distinctive look and gameplay elements that provide countless new challenges. Perhaps the most significant change to Snow is the addition of snowboarding and snowmobiles, which offer new ways for players to ride the mountain and define their own unique style. When it comes to unique style, choosing your sport is just the beginning. Thanks to partnerships with the biggest brands in winter sports, we boast one of the largest number of apparel partners of any winter sports game! No matter who you are, there are skis, boards, and lots of other clothing and equipment waiting for you in the in-game store! In addition to the PS4 launch, we have also been working on another surprise. For the first time in nearly 20 years, the Winter X Games is coming to console! We’ve partnered up with ESPN and have been working closely with their team to recreate the exact course from the 2016 Winter X Games in Aspen. The mountain includes the Slopestyle, Super Pipe, and Big Air courses, all accurately reproduced for your riding pleasure. Players who successfully complete all three X Games events with Gold Medals will unlock the exclusive in-game X Games hoodie. So keep an eye out for players wearing this on our Multiplayer servers — they know how to shred! The Snow Beta will cost $19.99 and gets you a lot more than a chance to see the game still in development. By joining the Beta, you will receive the Founder’s Pack, consisting of more than $30 worth of clothing, equipment, and exclusive items. This includes two full outfits (including skis and snowboard) of the latest clothing and equipment from the biggest brands. The bundle also includes two PS4 exclusive items: a gold snowmobile and a gold drone — both of which will only be available on PS4 during the Beta this fall. Those of you with PlayStation Plus are in for a treat. In addition to the Beta items described above, you will receive another exclusive outfit — dedicated to the 80s! This one-of-a-kind outfit is a complete look, including skis and snowboard. If you love the 80s like we do, you’ll want to rock this rad outfit while you shred the gnar! It was June 2009 and we were running out of money. We’d spent nearly two years making a game called Lux Tenebras. Our idea was to make a Super Mario version of a horror game; something that could be enjoyed in bite-sized chunks, was replayable, and mostly relied on easily repeatable gameplay mechanics. The problem was, this game wasn’t working out. Despite a lot of time and effort, it never really clicked. A publishing deal had recently evaporated, leaving our funds basically drained. We had at most a month left in our budget, and while we had a lot of assets, we didn’t have a working game. It felt like the company was on the verge of going bankrupt, and I recall starting on my CV. Then we had a lucky break. Our older games — the Penumbra series — went on sale, and against all expectations we got an injection of cash. We worked out that if everyone cut their salaries in half, we could go on for another 12 months — enough time to finish a game. The trouble was that our work-in-progress game just wasn’t very good. But the recent sale had almost doubled our fan base, and everyone praised the horror aspects of our past titles. It seemed that we knew how to scare people — and more importantly, it was something people wanted more of. Our goal became to make the most frightening game we possibly could. Now we had a clear aim: to scare the player senseless. We took the assets, gameplay, and story we already had and scrapped everything that didn’t help us achieve that goal. Using all we learned from our previous games, we tried to come up with the most terror-filled design imaginable. For example, we emphasized vulnerability by removing the ability to fight back, and we gave the protagonist a phobia of the most common aspect of the game: darkness. We did our utmost to place the player in a hostile and oppressive world. Just over a year later, Amnesia: The Dark Descent was ready to be unleashed upon the world. We had a pretty good reception right from the start, many calling it one of the scariest games ever. Things didn’t stop there, though. Thanks to word of mouth, and the timely expansion of the community of Let’s Players, the buzz around the game just kept growing. For a couple of months, we saw something Amnesia-related on the front page of Reddit just about every week. The amount of attention we got was truly astounding, and really gratifying for a small company. However, we never brought Amnesia to consoles. Over the years, we’ve been close to making it happen, but deals either fell through or we simply didn’t have time for it. It’s time to change that. Amnesia is coming to PS4. And we won’t just be releasing Amnesia: The Dark Descent alone. We’ll be including two other games in the package as well. One of them is Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs, which was developed by The Chinese Room (Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture). We asked The Chinese Room to make this game because we loved the stuff they’d done in the past (especially an obscure horror game called Korsakovia) and were curious to see what they’d do with the Amnesia universe. Our initial expectation was just a short one or two hour game, but their ambitions went far beyond that, and in the end it turned into a full-featured release. The result is something that takes a slightly different direction from the first game, putting the themes of human evil from The Dark Descent into a global perspective with very disturbing results. We’re very proud to have it in the collection. The third game is a lesser known Amnesia title called Amnesia: Justine. This game was made as part of a promotion for Valve’s Portal 2, where we — together with a bunch of other indie developers — took part in an Alternative Reality Game. We decided to use this as an excuse to do something different and went all-in on making a whole new story in the Amnesia universe. Justine is a shorter game, taking the form of a series of trials and is heavily inspired by films such as Saw and the historical persona of Elisabeth Báthory. Together, all three games should provide a wide range of horrors for all PS4 players to face, and I hope it’ll produce many pleasant nightmares and sleepless nights upon release! Beta ContentHow big is the Beta file? The Beta is packed with a lot of content, with the expected file size weighing in at approximately 20 GB. Download times will vary based on location, server traffic, and connection speed. Will any Campaign or Zombies content be available in the Beta? No, the Infinite Warfare Beta is specifically focused on competitive multiplayer. What maps will be included in the Infinite Warfare Beta? Frontier: Frontier is a small section of a giant space station that is in orbit around the planet Neptune. The action is funneled down a long, central corridor with side paths offering an element of strategy and a constricted lower lane for players craving chaos. Frost: A research facility set atop the icy surface of Jupiter’s moon Europa. Ample opportunities for vertical combat and rapid encounters around sleek modular elements highlight this frozen battleground. Throwback: This throwback 1950’s “Main Street, USA†locale sits on a giant, rotating, torus-shaped space station. A large circular lane rings the perimeter, while a large center square with multiple avenues of approach and two opposing windows offers a wide range of engagement opportunities. What game modes will be supported in the Beta? Fan-favorite modes including Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Kill Confirmed will be rotated throughout the Beta, along with some surprises like the new Defender mode: Defender: A high-stakes game of “keep away.†Your team must grab a drone and defend it, gaining points while holding on and keeping it out of enemy hands. Teamwork is essential here in order to make sure your points add up until the drone resets and the cycle starts again. What are Combat Rigs, and how do they impact competitive play? One of the biggest additions to Infinite Warfare Multiplayer is the introduction of Combat Rigs. These are combat systems, or suits, chosen and worn by the player that provide a customized suite of tactical options. The Rigs are inspired by six distinct playstyles and are swappable mid-match to help you take a different approach to the game as it unfolds. Each Combat Rig can be equipped with one Payload and one Trait. Payloads are weapons or abilities you can activate mid-match once earned, and they bring an immediate boost to your Rig. Traits are persistent passive abilities that open up strategic gameplay opportunities based on your playstyle. You can unlock three Payloads and three Traits on each Combat Rig as you progress through the game. What Rigs will be included in the Beta? When the Beta kicks off, you will be able to get your hands on three of the six different Combat Rigs that will be in the game at launch on November 4. The Beta will include the following Rigs: Warfighter: Designed for a mid-range assault-style player, equip the Warfighter rig to support the team by getting fast kills, quickly getting to an objective, and always being on the offensive. Merc: This imposing suit is equipped with payload options designed to clear enemy threats quickly and with authority. Its focus is heavy defense and suppressive fire. Synaptic: A C6 Class remote-operated droid optimized for speed and close quarters combat. What are Mission Teams? Mission Teams bring a metagame to Multiplayer in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. By completing missions while enlisted in a team, you will earn a team rank. Complete those missions with honors, and you will earn extra experience towards your rank. Each team has a unique commander who will deliver missions to you, and comment on your success or failure. Ranking up will give you rewards from that team, including calling cards, camos, emblems, unique Rig cosmetics, as well as specific prototype weapons that are only available from that team. Will I be able to experience Missions Teams in the Beta? In the Beta, players will get to experience two of the four Mission Teams, and will be able to enlist in the JTF Wolverines when they start the game. Their motto is “First in the Fight,†and this team and their commander favor aggressive combat. Also available as players progress will be the Orion Initiative, who go by the creed “Vigilance to Victory,†and bring their organized strategy to objective based missions. Will I be able to use Create-A-Class in the Beta? Yes, you’ll be able to customize your equipment loadouts across multiple classes in the Beta. As the Beta progresses, will Infinity Ward roll in any new features, modes, or the like? Certain surprises may or may not be in store, we can neither confirm nor deny. Let’s just say that you’ll want to play the Beta through its entire run through October 17, and jump back in the second weekend from October 21 to October 24. I’m at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in Las Vegas this weekend, where Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida took the stage moments ago to deliver the event’s keynote address and share some amazing news: details on the next Final Fantasy XIV expansion, Stormblood, due out in early summer 2017! The keynote opened with a brand-new teaser trailer (and tons of cheering) that gave everyone a glimpse of what’s to come to Square Enix’s massive MMORPG. The Warrior of Light — who seems to have once again opted to change his main job — goes toe to toe with a mysterious woman in red during an intense training session. As Yoshida revealed during the presentation, this area is actually one of the new hubs that players will visit as they venture to Ala Mhigo, the backdrop for Stormblood. As the liberation of Ala Mhigo will be taking center stage in the new storyline, it was revealed that XIIth Legion Legatus Zenos yae Galvus, ruler of the occupied Ala Mhigo, will be one of the main adversaries to be faced during your adventure. He looks pretty intense… There was a plethora of additional gameplay updates laid out during Yoshida’s presentation. Not only will the level cap be raised from 60 to 70, but the addition of multiple new jobs was also revealed! While Yoshida didn’t make any firm declarations today, he teased attendees with more news coming at the Fan Festivals in Tokyo and Europe. Yoshida also touched on the staples of Final Fantasy XIV that will be returning, including new dungeons, challenging high-level raids, alliance raids, as well as new gear. But one of the most well-received announcements was the increase to player inventory size, which was met with a deafening cheer. To close the presentation, Yoshida announced that with the launch of Stormblood, support on PS3 for Final Fantasy XIV would come to a close. At the same time, a PS3 to PS4 upgrade campaign is planned, which will allow PS3 players to seamlessly join in the battle for Ala Mhigo at launch! Fall: that magical season of wearing scarves, watching scary movies, and convincing yourself that you enjoy paying money to pick apples. Well add another thing to look forward to this autumn: the all-new, pumpkin-flavored Jackbox Party Pack 3! Available October 18 on PS4. We here at Jackbox Games are extremely proud of this latest pack. We think our third installment is easily our strongest yet — which, let’s face it, doesn’t always happen in a franchise. (We’re looking at you, The Odyssey.) We’re especially excited that Trivia Murder Party, one of the five games in Pack 3, is here in time for your Halloween parties. It’s more than just your typical trivia game show hosted by a deranged serial killer. Just like a great scary movie, it mixes horror and comedy to create a fun and suspenseful game that will hold your attention captive until the very last question. As much fun as it is to fondle grapes and pretend they’re eyeballs, we think Trivia Murder Party is going to be a much more exciting way to spend an hour or five at your Halloween party. Seriously, we put so much love and time into it that it could easily be a stand-alone title, but it’s just one fifth of this pack! You know how you come up with your best ideas in the shower? Well let’s just say our team had a lot of productive showers this past year. Perhaps we should rephrase that, but we won’t. Making a much-anticipated return to Jackbox Party Pack 3 is Quiplash 2, a new-and-improved sequel to the beloved franchise. Rigs Mechanized Combat League is out this week on PlayStation VR! Before you pick up your copy and strap yourself into a Rig, though, take a look at these tips from our development team. You’ll be off to a running start and rise to the top of the Mechanized Combat League in no time. 1.) Find the Settings That Work for You Rigs Mechanized Combat League offers a comprehensive tutorial that is designed to slowly introduce you to the mechanics and controls before getting into your first match. The game also includes a VR Comfort Settings menu, which will let you choose between using Head Turning or Stick Turning, as well as toggling the dynamic Visor Mask. Lower screen brightness can also lead to a more comfortable play experience for some players. Experiment with the various options at your disposal and find the configuration you enjoy the most! 2.) Master the Power Modes All Rigs come equipped with three distinct power modes — Turbo Mode, Repair Mode, and Impact Mode, for increased movement speed, rate of self-repair, and damage output respectively. Learning to switch between these modes as the situation dictates is the key to becoming a champion. Try switching to Impact Mode in a one-to-one fight, or increase speed with Turbo Mode when you’re the ball carrier in Endzone. If you need to take a breather, switch to Repair Mode, and try and hide yourself from active combat for a short while to maximize effect. 3.) Choose the Right Rigs for the Situation It all comes down to personal preference, but make sure you have a defensive Rig (preferably with high health and stopping power), an offensive Rig (with a lot of damage output, or high rate of fire) and an extremely mobile Rig (high agility, or a Rig that can quickly maneuver). Typically the Sentinel can take a lot of damage, while the Hunter and Mirage are fast ones — with the advantage of height and maneuverability, respectively. You can also use the Tempest to hover and get a good overview of the map and the current match. 4.) Go for Glory In Single-Player, the difficulty ramps up when you go head-to-head with the better teams in your league, or when you get promoted to higher leagues. Fear not, as Rigs Mechanized Combat League offers more than one way to win — there are standard league fixtures to play through, but also Tournament fixtures which can help you earn cups during your career, and even a Top Gun trophy that is reserved for the pilot with the highest aggregated personal points. 5.) Manage your Sponsors and Fame Successfully completing trials and matches will earn you credits (V) and fame, which can be used to buy new Rigs and hire better AI pilots. Keep an eye out for top AI Pilots who come with their own Rigs to round out your team. Winning matches and finishing Trials will earn you Fame, which will draw the attention of sponsors, who can offer credits and unique pilot customization items in exchange for completing challenges. Once you begin to make a name for yourself in the Mechanized Combat League, you will amass followers who closely follow your career progress. The more followers you have, the more famous you become, which unlocks better sponsorships. Try and get enough credits to unlock Rigs early on, so you can get a sense of which style of Rig (chassis type or ability) you prefer in a given situation. 6.) Bring the Bling Once you get the right sponsors, you can unlock customizations for your pilot. You can also buy specific customization items using the credits you earned. You can try on different suits, helmets, and even visor displays. There are also multiple podium celebrations you can choose from. Try and get the right set that lets you express yourself, so when you win, all eyes are on you! 7.) Communicate with Your Team The key to winning multiplayer matches is to communicate and coordinate your actions. Remember — getting the most takedowns is less important than scoring the most points. In Endzone, make sure you know who is on defense and who is taking the ball forward, at all times. Try and make sure you call out opponent patterns and formations if you have a Rig chassis type that can get a better view. When you try and score in Powerslam, make sure to call for help if you need cover — being taken down right when you’re about to score that match-winning goal can be painful… 8.) Download the Patch There is a Day One Patch available for download that enables Private one-on-one matches and Bot Substitutions in online play. There are many feedback and usability additions in the patch, so make sure you download it as it can improve your offline experience as well. If you have a friend who also has a copy of Rigs, it might be a good idea to play a 1v1 private match to get a feel for the pace and intensity of a match with human opponents before venturing into the full 3v3 Draft mode. Hi PlayStation gamers. The fright for the future has begun, and for the next three weeks, we’re celebrating the spookiest time of the year in true Overwatch fashion — with a brand new seasonal event! Explore the haunted streets of Hollywood, expand your collection of themed holiday items, and relive a chilling tale firsthand in our first PvE Brawl: Junkenstein’s Revenge! Welcome to the Overwatch Halloween Terror. Trick or TreatStarting today, all in-game Loot Boxes have been replaced with special glowing jack-o-lanterns, and they’re filled to the brim with more than 100 new cosmetic treats! As with our previous events, any Loot Box you earn or purchase from now until the event concludes will contain at least one item from our Halloween 2016 collection — including profile icons, sprays, victory poses, emotes, highlight intros, skins, and more! While the contents of each Halloween Loot Box are random, you can unlock a variety of these creepy customization options with credits in the Hero Gallery throughout the event’s duration. Once you’ve unlocked a Halloween item, it will be yours forever, which means that you can look terror-ific all year round! The collection will be crawling back into the vault on November 1, however, when the event concludes, so be sure to fire up your PS4 and dig in before it’s too late! Double-Double Toil and TroubleDuring the Halloween event, you’ll also be able to participate in Overwatch’s first-ever co-op PvE Brawl: Junkenstein’s Revenge. Team up with three other players and face off against a host of eerie enemies, including Dr. Junkenstein himself, Junkenstein’s Monster, the Reaper, a mysterious witch, and host of shambling zomnics. As told in the “Dr. Junkenstein’s Monster†comic, this terrifying tale follows Dr. Jamison Junkenstein, an inventor and scientist who was once employed by the Lord of Adlersbrunn. Junkenstein’s dream was to create artificial life, but the Lord of Adlersbrunn mocked the scientist and his creations, calling him a fool and dismissing him from service. Slighted, Junkenstein vowed to prove the lord wrong, and when a mysterious witch showed up and offered the key to perfecting his creation, Junkenstein’s Monster was born. Now Junkenstein plans his revenge against the Lord of Adlersbrunn, and only four heroes stand in the way… Players will choose from the Alchemist (Ana), the Archer (Hanzo), the Gunslinger (McCree), or the Soldier (Soldier: 76) and defend Adlersbrunn castle’s doors against Dr. Junkenstein’s onslaught. Heroes will need to work together and develop strategies to withstand wave after wave of zomnic attacks. Will you be able to keep your cool when Junkenstein’s Monster appears? Last year, we invited you to join seven delinquents on their journey to redemption in Criminal Girls: Invite Only. This year the party continues! Criminal Girls 2: Party Favors is available today for your PS Vita at retail and on PlayStation Store, dood! So what’s new this time around? Let’s start with the cast. Last time, you were guiding seven delinquents loosely based on the seven deadly sins. This time, we have a whole new cast of characters, each with a unique backstory to uncover and their own motivations for their sinful ways. You’ll have to keep everyone in line, from Shinoa — the caring honor roll student who might be trying just a bit too hard — to Sui, a sarcastic and analytic mind who’ll make your life difficult if you can’t handle the bite of her words. Criminal Girls 2 continues to build on the battle system of the first game. You won’t find yourself fighting standard RPG battles when your team is full of Delinquents! As you play, you’ll have to choose your action each turn from the suggestions the girls in your party provide, instead of just telling them what you want to do. As you motivate them, they’ll learn new skills and start suggesting more… appropriate actions as they warm up to you and grow in strength. Two brand new features have been added to the battle and character customization system this time around: Coaching and SM Stats. These two systems play off of each other to really customize how your party approaches a battle. As each girl levels up through motivation, they’ll unlock new skills that you can choose for them. Once you enter into a battle, you’ll then be able to coach your team to do their best! Choosing from various responses to their performance, like scolding or praising them, will change their stats!
