  1. Hello there! I’m Nicolae Berbece, one of the developers of Move or Die, a fast-paced, addictive, friendship-ruining multiplayer party game coming next year to PlayStation 4 with a simple premise: you move, or you die! So, you’re probably asking yourself, “That’s all you do in the game?†Well, it gets a little more complex. While the fundamental gameplay rule “move or die†is pretty straight-forward for a multiplayer game, we use that rule to introduce a plethora of mini-games that usually average about 20 seconds each. The mini-games range from “Kill your enemies by doing backflips and shooting them with your sniper which only fires while you are not touching the ground†to “Press a button to inflate and run into an opponent so you can knock him back and create an electric vortex in the middle that will kill anybody who touches it,†and of course “backstab your friends with brightly-colored chainsaws†as well. We designed Move or Die so that gamers will always have to be on their toes as games are randomly chosen every time. In addition to the numerous mini-games, players can chose to modify the rules even more with Mutators. Think of Mutators as a way to spice up the action in Move or Die, ranging from submerging the entire game underwater, turning dead players into deadly zombies, double jumps, jet packs, and much more. It’s quite interesting how Mutators can often dramatically change each mini-game differently, making the multiplayer aspects of Move Or Die even crazier — we often say our game is the “friendship-ruining game†and there’s nothing quite like the spectacle of four friends raging against each other in modes like “Bomb Tag,†“Chainsaw Backstab,†or “JumpSho.†As Move or Die has been available on PC for the past year, we often heard from fans that it would be a perfect game to bring to console, and we’re very happy to be bringing it to PS4. And don’t worry, we have some awesome features for the future when the game launches on console including, new playable characters, wackier game modes, more game modes, more mutators, and some major features — one of the things we’re working on having is team play. So whether it’s 2 on 2, 3 on 1, or 2 on 1 on 1 (yeah, that’s a thing), we definitely plan to test the friendships between PS4 players when Move or Die launches next year! View the full article
  2. We’ve spent the better part of the last 10 years on a journey with Nathan Drake, but as his story came to a close in Uncharted 4 and we looked ahead to the series’ first-ever story DLC, we were faced with an unprecedented question: whose story did we want to tell next? Over the years, we’ve assembled an incredible cast of characters, but of them all, we kept coming back to one in particular: Chloe Frazer. As the smooth-talking master thief who debuted in Uncharted 2, Chloe is not only one of our favorite characters, but we know she’s a favorite amongst our community. She’s also a strong and enigmatic character — in other words, perfect to be our lead protagonist in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. We revealed a first look at Uncharted: The Lost Legacy at PlayStation Experience today with a nearly 9 minute video of gameplay. Check out the full clip below. Our video shows an early section of the game where we find Chloe in a war-torn city on her way to a rooftop rendezvous with her partner, Nadine Ross. Much like Chloe, Nadine is a formidable and interesting character whose complex nature we just started exploring in her Uncharted 4 debut. She’s a skilled tactician, whose cool, calculating nature offers an important contrast to Chloe’s improvisation and wit. As they venture deep into India’s Western Ghats mountain range, they’ll need to work together to recover the long lost Tusk of Ganesh. When we began to plot out the story and our vision for the game, we realized we were building something more than an extension of Uncharted 4, and instead, a standalone story in the Uncharted universe. We wanted this adventure to feature all of the hallmarks of the series, from cinematic storytelling set within exotic destinations, to dynamic combat and intricate puzzles. It’s our biggest story expansion to-date and will be available as a standalone game on store shelves and for digital download. If you picked up the Uncharted 4 Digital Deluxe Edition or the Explorer’s Pack, you’ll get Uncharted: The Lost Legacy as a download at launch. Both versions will only be available until December 13, 2016, so don’t miss your chance to get Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy at an amazing value. 3. Hey everyone! Matt Thorson here, lead developer of TowerFall Ascension. TowerFall has found an amazing community of players on PS4, so we’re super excited to show you our next project. Allow me to introduce Celeste, a single-player platformer about climbing a mountain! Celeste is inspired by real-life rock climbing. The fun of maneuvering yourself up a cliff, the rush of reaching for a hold just beyond safety, and the challenge of pushing yourself to go a bit further than last time. I love how a climbing route often looks impossible at first glance, but through experimentation and creative thinking you can find the necessary contortions to scale your way to the top. Reaching the summit of Celeste’s mountain won’t be easy. The lineage of Celeste’s design can be traced back to difficult platformers from the SNES era, as well as some modern indie classics. If you like platformers and love a challenge, you’ll want to test your skills and see how high you can climb. Of course we’re working to make sure Celeste is accessible to a wide range of players, but everyone knows when they start that climbing a mountain was never going to be easy. The mountain in Celeste isn’t an ordinary one. You’ll climb through more than 250 stages, across striking areas like an abandoned city, ancient ruins, precarious cliff sides, and a haunted resort. The mountain has a lot of history, and so does your character. You’ll be battling your inner demons as much as the environment in your fight to reach the summit. There aren’t many people out here, but you can meet a few quirky characters to keep you company if you search them out. We’re showing Celeste this week at PlayStation Experience! So if you’re in LA you should come by and give it a try. We’d love to get your feedback on it. Celeste is on schedule to launch on PS4 in mid-2017. View the full article
  4. It all started with a simple message – “Get out of the house.†Over three million PlayStation 4 players (and counting) have downloaded the Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Beginning Hour demo since it was announced at E3 earlier this year, hoping to escape from the dilapidated mansion. Navigating the decrepit hallways, players would soon find their attempt to escape cut off with another message: “Welcome to the family, son.†Since then, the community has discovered multiple endings, experienced strange occurrences, and even found a dangerous-looking axe. Now, with the final update, “Midnight,†available today, you’ll discover how it all comes together. Throughout the original Beginning Hour demo and its first update, “Twilight,†the community has found some interesting clues and items scattered throughout the creepy rooms and hallways. If you’ve played through the demo before, you’re likely familiar with some of the secrets the mansion holds, including a lock pick that’s fallen between the cracks and, of course, the enigmatic dummy finger. We’re happy to say that the Midnight update will add even more to the demo, allowing you to explore beyond the eerie, molded door that appeared in the last update. So, what can you find beyond? Well, it’s certainly no fun if we tell you, so we’ll leave that to all of you to find out. Still, I’d recommend bringing something to protect yourself with. Whatever’s making those sounds from behind the door sure doesn’t sound friendly. As if all of that wasn’t enough, you’ll be able to enjoy the Midnight update with the flexible, optional PSVR mode, allowing you to immerse yourself even further into the horror. And if you have a PS4 Pro and a compatible television, you can check out the game in glorious 4K resolution! All PS4 models will also enjoy HDR support for supported televisions as well. While the Beginning Hour demo is a self-contained teaser experience, we also have a brand new trailer that shows glimpses of what you can expect from the full game when Resident Evil 7 biohazard launches on PlayStation 4 on January 24th, 2017. Watch the video, then grab the Beginning Hour demo if you don’t have it already so that you’re all set for the final update when it drops later today! View the full article
  5. There it is! Only one more shot and I have him… Nooo his teammate hit me with a stun! Now I have to flee in order to survive! But, happy ending, I led him through a field of mines I had prepared for just this purpose a minute before. Victory is mine! This is the experience I just had as we were testing out the latest features of Games of Glory, which I’m happy to announce will be coming to PS4 next year. My colleagues at Lightbulb Crew and I wanted to share the intense emotions you get through playing in a top-down team shooter arena game: the excitement of the near escape, the sense of accomplishment from getting better and better, the pleasure of rescuing your teammate from assured death, and the pride after having led the team to victory. We also wanted to focus on the competition with other players, going right for the action and staying there for the whole game. So what we did was create the same type of unique characters from a MOBA game and marry it with the play style and the weapons of a shooter. The result? Games of Glory. Set in an awesome sci-fi setting, the Games of Glory are the sport of the future, and we wanted you to feel like a player in the only sport that counts. Central to this are the clubs. You can create your own club with a custom logo and skins, so that you can play and advance with your friends under the same banner. We are also extremely excited that you can play with your friends that have PCs as well! You just have to invite them to your club, and you can launch games against each other, or against unsuspecting players in the queue. Victory has never felt this good! We’re looking forward to meeting all of the PS4 fans and getting Games of Glory in their hands this weekend at PSX 2016. Development of Games of Glory continues but we’ll be launching a PS4 closed beta for Games of Glory early next year. See you in the arena! View the full article
  6. Hi, PlayStation Nation! First, I want to say thank you for all of the support and encouragement you have given Fallen Legion. We brought our high-speed action RPG to PlayStation Experience almost one year ago and the crowd was wonderful. The number one request we received was to bring the game to PlayStation Vita. Hearing from many passionate PS Vita fans in person and on social media fired us up to make it happen. I’m proud to say we are bringing Fallen Legion to PlayStation Vita and the portable version is more than a port. Fallen Legion for PlayStation Vita is its own unique adventure with an entirely different story. On PlayStation 4, you guide Princess Cecille, who has reluctantly become the emperor of a dying kingdom. While Cecille is on a quest to restore glory to the crumbling Empire of Fenumia, the Legate is planning a coup d’état to claim the throne. PS Vita players will see the events in Fallen Legion from the perspective of the Legate, a charming and cunning tactician, as he battles to oust the monarchy and roots out traitors among his army. You’ll face different ferocious bosses on Vita including the bloodthirsty Werewolf. Both twisted stories are the brainchild of Ben Bateman, localization editor on Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward. Between crushing enemy armies you make decisions that determine the fate of Fenumia. Sending troops to defend a village from a barbarian onslaught may give you an attack boost, but choosing to snub their request could grant you double HP for an entire level. Think fast because your choices permanently impact the world and you only have 10 seconds to decide! Also, when we say “defend a village†— we mean it. Choosing defend brings players straight to the front lines and you have one chance to defeat the barbarian invaders. Win and the town is saved, but if you lose the barbarians take over. Forever. Instead of rushing to battle you could handle the situation tactfully by cutting a shady deal to give the town to the barbarians in exchange for an item. This is just one of the many choices you will make as an emperor in Fallen Legion. For those of you planning to attend PlayStation Experience this week, we will be there with a new playable demo of Fallen Legion on PS4 and, for the first time ever, the PS Vita version! Xanthe Huynh, the voice actress for Princess Cecille and many other beloved RPGs, will stop by the Fallen Legion booth on December 3 for a meet-and-greet with fans. We hope to see you there! I want to say thanks again for all of the feedback. We take every chat or Tweet to heart, and there is one more announcement I’m psyched to make — in addition to being released on the PlayStation Store, Fallen Legion will also have a physical print of the PS4 and PS Vita versions thanks to our friends at Limited Run Games! We’ll have more to talk about leading up to Fallen Legion’s launch in the first half of 2017. View the full article
  7. Hey there! Lee from Defiant Development here, ready to give you the low-down on what we’ve been doing with Hand of Fate 2 lately. I’ve had to bite my tongue on this one for a little while, but I’m happy to report that Hand of Fate 2, the card game that comes to life, will be releasing next year on PS4 and PS4 Pro. I’ve spent two conventions dancing around this question with a litany of non-answers so, if nothing else, this is a huge relief for me. If you’re attending PlayStation Experience, you should swing by the Defiant Development booth! We’ve got a brand new demo showcasing the big features of Hand of Fate 2 — the Dealer’s Challenge Board, our powerful new deckbuilder, and the debut of our new companion character, Captain Estrella Fiore. More about her later. So let’s talk about Hand of Fate 2! Like its predecessor, (Hand of Fate 1, available for purchase on all good Playstation Stores) Hand of Fate 2 mixes deck-building collectible card games, tabletop roleplaying, and third person combat. The player puts together a deck of cards representing fantastic encounters and magical equipment, which get folded in with the Dealer’s cards and laid out on the table like a dungeon. As the player moves their piece around the board the cards flip over, revealing a challenge, a fight, or a continuation of the story. If the player ends up in combat the view flies into the card and the battle plays out in real time. If the player gets to the end of the challenge they unlock more powerful cards. If they lose they’ll have to start the challenge over again. In Hand of Fate, player progress is ultimately measured by the size of your deck, and the more cards a player has unlocked the more tools they have at their disposal to counter the Dealer’s challenges. The first Hand of Fate told the story of a solitary hero, but in Hand of Fate 2 the player is assisted by a handful of AI companions. Companions aren’t just an extra blade (Or pistol, or hammer, or in the case of Malaclypse, a lute?) on the battlefield; they’ve got their own storylines and encounter cards and each has a unique way to break the rules on the tabletop. Some of the most interesting parts of the original game emerged from the unexpected interaction between cards and equipment — a surprising continuation of the story, or a hidden narrative branch unlocked by a newly acquired piece of loot. Companions are a whole new variable for us to introduce to the mix and we can’t wait for you to explore their possibilities. Let’s take a closer look at our most recently announced recruit: Captain Estrella Fiore. Estrella isn’t just the most stylishly swashbuckling companion we’ve announced so far (Seriously, look at that hair, that eyepatch!) she’s also potentially the most versatile. Her sword and pistol combo deals major damage but her real value becomes apparent once the player starts knocking enemies down. In Hand of Fate 2 players can quickly dispatch downed foes by activating cinematic finishing moves. But as cool as these attacks look, they’re slow and easily interruptible. That’s why it’s so handy having a furious pistol-wielding cyclops in your deck; Estrella shoots anyone attempting to interrupt the player’s coup de grace. Teamwork! Pow! Most of our companions are eager to join the player’s quest, but Estrella’s motivations aren’t quite so clear cut. For starters she’s a high ranking Captain in the Imperial Army, one of the game’s new enemy factions and represented on the tabletop by the Steel suit. Players first encounter Estrella while they’re dealing with a mutual enemy, the Frost faction’s barbarian hordes. As long as the player remains on the Empire’s good side Estrella will be a powerful ally. But the heart of the Empire is rotten, and the player — and Estrella — may need to make some tough decisions in the future. It’s great to have a pistol wielding duelist watching your back. It’s another thing altogether to have them shooting you in it. Estrella joins the ranks alongside the previously announced Malaclypse the Bard and Colbjorn the Barbarian and we’ve still got one more companion to reveal. That will have to wait for a future update, however. We don’t want to tip our hand too early. (Holy cow. I think I made it through the entire blog post with only a single self-indulgent card idiom. That’s got to be a new company record) Hand of Fate 2 is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2017. For more information, check out our website, or our Twitter feed. View the full article
  8. We were thrilled to announce and show off our new PS VR game for the first time at PlayStation Experience 2016! Dino Frontier lets you build and manage a frontier settlement in a world where the Wild West and Jurassic eras collide. You assume the role of Big Mayor overlooking your settlement in tabletop-scale VR. You must carefully balance resources while growing your town. All the while, wild dinosaurs roam the land acting as both dangerous foe and tantalizing asset. There’s something magical about looking down at a virtual world full of tiny people bustling about. With Dino Frontier we go a step further, letting you reach in and pick them up. As Big Mayor you’re tasked with assigning settlers to optimal resource gathering jobs while making sure they stay happy, healthy, and fed. Dino Frontier is a light simulation where settlers act semi-autonomously to fulfill their wants and needs. When sufficiently hungry, tired, or hurt, settlers will stop work to seek out a fix for their ailment. Or maybe they’ll just stop by the saloon to have a drink and cheer up. Of course Dino Frontier wouldn’t be complete with just frontier settlers. You want dinosaurs! There are no bison or horses in Dino Frontier. Instead you get velociraptors, anklyosauri, triceratops, the mighty tyrannosaurus rex, and more. Dinosaurs start as dangerous foe. Train your settlers well and those foes can become domesticated friends. Before long, your hunters will ride raptor steed. And your bandit-fighting sheriff will patrol with a trusty protoceratops sidekick. In 2016 we released the critically acclaimed Wayward Sky as a launch title for PlayStation VR. With Dino Frontier, we’re building on our experience to make a second-generation VR game. Dino Frontier offers core gameplay to satisfy players eager for deeper VR gameplay. Dino Frontier will be available for PlayStation VR in 2017. We can’t wait for you to experience all the Jurassic frontier has to offer! -Chandana Ekanayake & Forrest Smith View the full article
  9. Vane is an atmospheric adventure about unravelling the secrets of an unknown land, finding your place in it, and pulling at the threads of the world to make a change. The shifting sands glimmer with meaning, ancient ruins resonate with power, but a threat billows and looms in the distance. Find your way. We at Friend & Foe were thrilled to announce at PlayStation Experience that Vane is coming to PS4. Developing Vane has been a long road so far, almost two years and counting, and designing the world, what it feels like, and who’s in it has been a journey of discovery for us. We can’t wait to share those results. We’ll try to hold back on spoiling too many of the details, as we want you to experience the final thing for yourself, but we’ll talk more about our hodgepodge of influences and our process, as well as share gif goodness and pretty pictures on a semi-regular basis. To be clear, there’s still a fair bit of road ahead and plenty of challenges to overcome. We’re shooting for a specific feeling that’s hard to put into words, a neatly contained experience that feels vast and full of wonder, and we think it’ll be worth the wait. Stay tuned for more updates leading up to the game’s launch in 2017! View the full article
  10. When we first revealed Pyre earlier this year, we got a great response to the game’s mystical purgatory setting, and its distinct blend of party-based RPG exploration and competitive action. We showed you a glimpse of the game’s ensemble cast, and the ancient competition called the Rites, in which exiles battle to regain their freedom. Through it all, one exciting question kept coming up again and again: is Pyre going to have multiplayer? Today we can confirm that the answer is a resounding yes. At PlayStation Experience this weekend, we’re proud to present our first-ever multiplayer offering in Pyre’s head-to-head Versus Mode. PlayStation Experience attendees will be able to challenge each other in one of the game’s fast-paced ritual showdowns. We love playing this game against one another at our studio, so we cannot wait to see what you think of it! Multiplayer FAQWhile we have you on the line, we wanted to address some of your questions about this part of the game: Q: Wait, you’re making a multiplayer game?! A: Pyre is a party-based RPG that will have a two-player head-to-head Versus Mode in it, in addition to the single-player campaign. Think of the multiplayer as a bonus on top of the single-player. Our focus during development has first and foremost been the single-player campaign experience, and creating the interesting and memorable cast of characters you’ll get to know during your journey. Multiplayer was something we also thought had a lot of potential, but was something we were only going to pursue if we felt we could pull it off without compromising on our ambitions for the single-player. We had to get to this point in development to make sure of that. Q: What is the object of the game in Versus Mode? A: The ritual competitions in Pyre play out like a one-on-one competitive action game. The object is to extinguish your opponent’s ceremonial flame, by grasping an object called the Celestial Orb then diving into the flames with it, or simply throwing it in. You have at your disposal three different exiles, though just one is permitted to move at any given time (you can switch control between them instantly). You can slip past your opponents by sprinting or leaping over them. You also have a defensive aura that banishes your foes on contact, or can be cast like a projectile attack. Each of the different characters has his or her own unique attributes and special abilities. Which characters you bring into the field, along with the variety of unique environments, make it so no two Rites play out the same way. Q: Can you play online or is it only local multiplayer? A: Our Versus Mode pits you and your opponent against each other on the same PS4 in local head-to-head competition. This arcade-style experience is well suited to Pyre’s gameplay, and ever since Bastion we’ve wanted to make a game you could play with a friend in the same space. As for online play, we haven’t made a decision yet on whether online play makes sense given everything else we’re doing on Pyre with our small team. We think bad online multiplayer is worse for a game than no online multiplayer, and we promise to do what’s best for the game as a whole. Q: Will I be able to play Versus Mode single-player against the computer? A: Yes! We plan to support that. Q: I have more questions! A: Great! Send them along with any impressions to @SupergiantGames or visit our web site for more details. We’d love to hear from you. And thanks for reading! We’re in the thick of development on Pyre and well on track toward our planned launch sometime in 2017. View the full article
  11. Hi there! It’s Jessica from DotEmu. For those who don’t know us, we specialize in modern releases of beloved retro games. Our mission is simple: give every gamer access to yesteryear’s classic video games on today’s platforms. Today we’re thrilled to announce the return of Ys Origin on PS4 and PS Vita! Originally released in 2006 for the PC market in Japan, this epic action RPG is now back 10 years later (Happy Birthday!) with a well-deserved rebirth on PS4 and PS Vita — the perfect consoles to host this relaunch. New Exclusive FeaturesFor the return of Ys Origin on PlayStation platforms, we decided to bring new features and enhancements while staying true to the series’ original spirit. Because the game has been “PC only†so far, our main objective was to create the best-possible console experience without devaluing those precious PC roots. The biggest changes we made were to optimize the visuals and effects and improve the UI and menus so that players can enjoy the full HD widescreen experience. After several months of hard work, the game looks very nice and we really hope you’ll like it! Moreover, for the pleasure of gamers worldwide, we also wanted to localize the game in as many languages as possible. Thus, the game will be available in Japanese and English via the amazing work on the 2012 PC version by XSEED Games, but also — and for the first time ever — in French, Italian, German, and Spanish. The Godfather of JRPGsThe Ys Series has a special place in our hearts at DotEmu. Since 2014 we’ve been working with Nihon Falcom on several Ys installments, and we really wanted to explore an Ys Origin console version. Nihon Falcom liked the idea and gave us the green light. To say we’re thrilled and proud to work on this great Japanese action-RPG saga would be an understatement! Plus, this episode was especially important to us because it’s a prequel to the entire series, and so a bit different from the other installments. Epic Boss fights are a big part of the Ys saga, and Ys Origin perfectly reflects this. Discover each boss’s pattern and use attacks, spells, and skills until you’re victorious. It’s sometimes hard, but oh so satisfying! Ys Origin encompasses all that we love about JRPGs: epic stories, endearing characters, fabulous gameplay, and a beautiful soundtrack. Save the Goddesses, Save the WorldThe Ys saga is rich and engaging, and the story of Ys Origin is unique since it takes place 700 years before the events of the first episode published in 1987. Following a devastating demonic invasion, the twin Goddesses use their magic to bring the inhabitants of legendary Ys safely into the sky. While the demons work to construct Devil’s Tower and reach the humans’ new abode, the Goddesses disappear. You must seek them in Devil’s Tower and reveal its secrets. In Ys Origin, you don’t play as Adol — instead, you can choose between two characters with their own attributes and stories. There’s Yunica, a talented, mighty warrior who’s adept with the axe, and Hugo, a cunning sorcerer who uses powerful spells to defeat his enemies. Time for you to gear up, gather your courage, and save the world of Ys from the comfort of your sofa — or during your workday commute. Get ready, Ys fans. Ys Origin comes to PS4 and PS Vita on February 21, 2017! View the full article

  14. Puhuhu! A new game is about to begin! Chris King from NIS America here to officially announce that Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony will be heading west to PS4 and PS Vita as a physical and digital release in 2017! The third main entry of the hit murder-mystery adventure game series, Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony is an all-new journey into the world of Danganronpa! As the killing game begins a third time, the line between lies and the truth has never been more blurred! For the unacquainted, Danganronpa is a series of murder mystery adventure games where the country’s most elite high school students — dubbed “Ultimates†— are brought together and forced to participate in a gruesome killing game by a sadistically adorable robotic bear named Monokuma. The rules of Monokuma’s game are simple: kill a classmate and get away with it in a class trial, and you get off scot-free while the rest of your classmates die. But if your classmates convict you, you face a grisly punishment and the killing game continues. Your logical reasoning skills are tested as you collect information about your classmates and the crime scene. Soon after, you shift into a trial section of the game and debate among your fellow classmates, pinpoint the inconsistencies in their testimonies, and shoot down their contradictions until you finally identify the killer. Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony brings you a fresh start with a new “psycho-cool†setting and introduces a brand-new cast of 16 characters. It’s the biggest, baddest, most exhilarating entry into the series yet! Reimagine what you thought you knew about high-stakes, fast-paced investigative action as you follow twisted murder cases and condemn your new friends to death. The trial sections will demand quick wits, logical deduction, and even lies to guide your classmates to the correct conclusion. It’s up to you to solve each new murder that arises, or you and your classmates will all meet a gruesome end. We will have many more gameplay, story, and character details to share at a later time, but for now, visit our official website to stay up to date. And for those who have heard of the previous Danganronpa games but did not own a PS Vita, or have yet to give them a try, keep an eye out for Danganronpa 1&2 Reload (a port of the first two installments of the main series), hitting PS4 in early 2017! We hope you look forward to Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony in 2017! Thanks for reading! Puhuhu! View the full article

  16. Hi! I’m Sebastian Wojciechowski, president of People Can Fly, and I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with PlayStation fans around the world. Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is coming to PS4 on April 7, 2017! You might be familiar with Bulletstorm, or you might be hearing about the game for the first time today. No matter if you’re diehard fan or if you’re new to the series, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition has something for you! The game follows the story of Grayson Hunt, a professional assassin who’s been exiled from the elite group Dead Echo. Grayson’s been betrayed by his commander, General Serrano, and finds himself stranded on the planet Stygia — which was once a popular resort destination but is now overrun by mutants, irradiated plant life, cannibals, and things even worse than that (Really, even worse than cannibals). Grayson now has to decide — get himself and his crew off the planet alive, or confront the general who betrayed him. As we were developing Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition, we wanted to provide the ultimate Bulletstorm experience for fans. And we feel that we delivered on that, as this game has it all! You’ll get to experience Bulletstorm and all of the DLC released for the game in one package, along with improvements that weren’t possible until now with PS4. We started by going back to the original Bulletstorm and upgrading the visuals and presentation; when you jump into the game you’ll experience updated character models, environments, lighting effects, animations, and more. And on top of that, the game runs at a smoother framerate than ever before giving even more fluidity to the gameplay. And if you own a PS4 Pro, you’ll be able to enjoy all of these graphical enhancements even further in stunning 4K resolution. But there’s more to the game than a fresh coat of paint. We’ve also added in some new content that hasn’t been seen before! There’s a new Overkill Campaign Mode, where you can blast your way through the campaign by starting off with an unrestricted arsenal of weapons and skillshots. If you’re new to Bulletstorm, skillshots are unique kills in which you use the environment around you to take out your enemies with style. Using skillshots will reward you with skillpoints, which can be used to upgrade your arsenal. There’s also six new Echo Maps, where you can showcase your skills in the score-based Echo Mode. And last but definitely not least, fans who pre-order Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition will get free access to the Duke Nukem’s Bulletstorm Tour DLC, which gives you the option to swap out Grayson Hunt with the iconic Duke Nukem! You heard right, we’ve got the voice of Duke himself, Jon St. John, in the game with a re-recorded script and all new lines, along with a hi-def rendered version of Duke Nukem. If you’ve ever wanted to play as Duke Nukem in HD on your PS4, this is your chance! At People Can Fly, we love the Bulletstorm franchise. That’s why we’re happy to be working with Gearbox Publishing, who love the series just like we do. And with the similarities between our companies in how we develop first-person shooters with a focus on humor and unforgettable experiences, we feel that this is a partnership that is great for the game and its fans. We’re thrilled to be bringing this game to PlayStation fans and can’t wait to watch your livestreams and videos as you make Bulletstorm your own. See you in April! View the full article
  17. The culmination of the 2016 Season of the Capcom Pro Tour is upon us with Capcom Cup 2016 this weekend on December 2 and December 3! 32 of the best Street Fighter V players will come together and fight for more than $400,000 in prizing, and the title of Street Fighter World Champion. Capcom Cup this year will be a two day event with day one taking place at Esports Arena in Santa Ana, CA, and day two featuring the top eight finalists at PlayStation Experience at the Anaheim Convention Center. Watch all the action live at twitch.tv/capcomfighters with day one streaming live from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM Pacific and day two from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM Pacific. For more information on ticket sales and other details, be sure to check out the Capcom Pro Tour website. Thanks to the support of all of our fans we’ve exceeded our goal by raising more than $150,000 in additional prize money for Capcom Cup 2016 due to the sales of the Capcom Pro Tour DLC. With a baseline of $250,000 this puts the total at more than $400,000 — the largest prize pool in fighting game history! Not only does it pay to be a winner in terms of cold hard cash, but the winner of Capcom Cup 2016 will also make history in a few other ways. First, just like last year, whoever takes first place will be able to help design their own Champion’s Choice Street Fighter V costume for whichever character they like. They’ll work with the Street Fighter V development team to provide feedback on various designs and ultimately choose the design they like the most. Next, we’ve got a brand new trophy for Capcom Cup that is unlike any other. Each year, we will engrave the name of the champion to the base of the trophy so their legacy will never be forgotten. This mega-trophy will live at Capcom USA HQ and only be brought out each year for Capcom Cup. That’s it for today! Remember to follow @CapcomFighters on Twitter for the latest updates on Capcom Cup! 19. Hi all! I recently had the privilege of breaching the structural integrity of the beautiful Collector’s Edition for The Last Guardian. I’d wager the game needs no introduction here, but I still can’t stress enough how profoundly impactful it was to finally hold a copy of the game in my hands. And soon, you’ll be able to as well! The CE is a sumptuous treat for the eyes and fingertips. The outer packaging feels premium, the minimalist design of the Steelbook case will look good on any bookshelf, and the Premium Statue is impressively detailed. Don’t just take my word for it — I was joined by none other than Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida, who joined in the unboxing fun in our new video. The Last Guardian launches in North America on December 6, 2016, exclusively for PS4. View the full article
  20. Today we’re launching a PlayStation Communities app on iOS and Android, making it easy to stay in touch with your fellow PS4 gamers while away from the console. PlayStation Communities are places where you can find players who have similar interests and preferences. Within a Community, you can join parties and launch into games with other Community members, or talk about your shared interests. For instance, if you’re having trouble finding players to tackle Destiny’s newest raid, Wrath of the Machine, a Destiny community may help you fill out your fireteam. In the app, you can check out community profiles, view a list of communities you’re a member of, and see who else is in your community. You can also discover and join new communities directly from the app, which provides recommendations based on the games you’ve played and highlights which communities are trending. The app’s streamlined design makes it easy to post text and images on the community wall. You can also choose to receive push notifications to stay-up-to-date on posts and replies. Check out the app when it’s available later today and let us know what you think in the comments! View the full article

  22. I’m really looking forward to PlayStation Experience this year, and I’m very proud to announce that Household Games’ first title, Way of the Passive Fist, is coming to PS4 in 2017. I am also very excited to announce that Way of the Passive Fist will be playable for the first time at PlayStation Experience 2016 this weekend. In Way of the Passive Fist you play as The Wanderer, a mysterious figure of unknown origin who has mastered the art of the Passive Fist and fights enemies defensively to wear down even the mightiest of opponents. Unlike most arcade-style brawlers, The Wanderer doesn’t have a basic attack like a punch or a kick, instead you have an array of parries, deflections and dodges at your disposal. No button mashing here… keep your cool, study your enemies and survive in the wasteland. Be Passive, Then AggressiveYou can’t always be passive, sometimes you need to make a statement, and The Wanderer has a secret weapon tucked away. A mechanically augmented arm that’s extremely powerful but requires a lot of energy to use. Luckily, the energy you absorb from enemy attacks charges it up allowing for powerful strikes that can cut down any enemy in your way. It’s the right amount of brute force, right when you need it, and it can also rip apart objects in the environment to find useful items and secrets. Our own 90’s Cartoon UniverseFrom the very beginning, we set out to create a licensed game for the 90’s cartoon we wish existed. A lot of my favorite games are the licensed brawlers based on popular cartoons and comic books, and I wanted Way of the Passive Fist to have the same level of exuberance and flair. That feeling when you get to a boss fight and you come face-to-face with one of the villains from the show, that’s a feeling I’d like to create in the game. The game’s setting is Planet Eiectus, a world ruled by its volatile and overwhelming sun. Everything on this world is solar powered, but the harsh conditions also make survival extremely difficult. Exhausting oneself is a death sentence. By mastering the Passive Fist technique, The Wanderer continues to endure in the face of desert raiders, mad scientists and fanatical sun worshippers. AccessibilityIn addition to all this Saturday morning-fueled action, I’m proud to say that accessibility is a key focus in Way of the Passive Fist. We’re working with speedrunner and accessibility advocate Clint “Halfcoordinated†Lexa as our accessibility & design consultant. With his help, we’re making sure everything in the game, the controls, the graphics, the audio and even the gameplay have options to make them as accessible as possible. With this focus in mind, we’ve also created some unique features that will make the game better for all players! If you’re looking for an arcade brawler offering something new and want to fight your way through an awesome cartoon-inspired universe, I hope you’ll check out Way of the Passive Fist at PlayStation Experience 2016. 25. Phew! Team PlayStation is hard at work putting the finishing touches on PlayStation Experience 2016. I have a feeling that it’s going to be truly special. With thousands of you flying in from all over the country — even the world! — it’s time to provide a few more details on what awaits this December 3 and 4 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. Don’t worry if you don’t have your tickets yet, we still have some available right here. But hurry, there’s no telling how long they’ll last! The action will kick off on Saturday at 10:00am sharp with our big PlayStation Showcase, but take note: as always, seating space will be limited! If you want to sit in on PlayStation Showcase, plan to arrive bright and early — doors will open at 8:00am, but the line will likely be well underway by that point. Then come the panels. We’re locked and loaded for six developer panels this year, and in my humble opinion it’s our strongest lineup by a country mile. I hate to go all cloak-and-dagger, but we can only reveal three of the panels at this time. Trust me: the other three will be worth the wait! We’re bringing together some of the top minds from the accessibility community, PlayStation and Naughty Dog to discuss best practices for game developers and to share powerful stories about the broader impact of accessibility features in games.
