  1. We’ve been quiet in recent months, but rest assured that development on Horizon Zero Dawn is still going full steam ahead! In fact, I’m excited to be able to break the silence today with an all-new trailer focusing on our lead character Aloy. We’re exploring the mysteries of her origin, her journey as an outcast and the events that set her on a dangerous quest: As you can see in the trailer, we’ve decided to push the release date for Horizon Zero Dawn to February 28, 2017. It wasn’t an easy choice to make; we know many of you have been anxious to play the game since we first announced it. However, we also want to ensure that Horizon Zero Dawn lives up to the visuals and gameplay quality that our games are known for. The new date affords us the extra time required to deliver fully on our ambitious vision for Horizon Zero Dawn. We realize that this decision may not please everyone. At the same time, we’re confident that the advantages of the additional development time afforded by the new date will become clear in the coming months, as we start to share more cool details and videos from Horizon Zero Dawn. We really, really appreciate your patience and continued support, and look forward to bringing you the best game we possibly can in February 2017. View the full article
  2. Hello, ladies and gentlemen of PlayStation. We’re Playtonic Games and we’re delighted to introduce the debut trailer for our game Yooka-Laylee, a new open-world platformer from the key creative talent behind genre classics Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country. Yooka-Laylee is a love letter to classic platformer-adventure games, from a team of veterans responsible for some of the genre’s most iconic games. You can expect huge, beautiful worlds to explore, quirky characters to meet (and beat) and a vault-load of shiny collectibles to horde along the way. Oh, and a whole load of word puns. Our heroes, Yooka (the green one) and Laylee (the wisecracking bat with the big nose) were conceptualized “from the ground up,†to quote our favorite marketing phrase, for stellar platforming gameplay. Using their arsenal of special moves such as Yooka’s tongue grapple and Laylee’s sonar shot, our heroes will tackle a huge variety of puzzles and platforming challenges in their search for Pagies, the golden bounty used to unlock — and expand — new worlds, each jammed to the gills with oddball characters and hulking bosses. The magical Pagies will assist the buddy-duo in their ultimate mission to thwart corporate creep Capital B and his devious scheme to absorb all of the world’s books… and convert them into pure profit. Using the hundreds of collectible Quills discovered during their travels, the buddy-duo will purchase and unlock moves from the serpent salesman Trowzer, which they can choose to do in virtually any order that the player decides. This is just one way which Yooka-Laylee empowers player choice, in addition to the ability to expand and make larger the worlds you’ve already explored and the unique Tonic gameplay modifiers which can be used to customise your play style. During their travels Yooka and Laylee will encounter a huge cast of memorable characters, and our legendary art and audio teams have designed each critter to endure in future adventures as part of Playtonic Universe. Expect all manner of grunts, squeaks and squawks. Today we’ve brought you just a glimpse of what we have planned for Yooka-Laylee, but there’s plenty more down our collective sleeves including unique boss fights, mine cart challenges, retro-tastic Arcade games, quiz shows, co-op and 8 unique multiplayer games! Yooka-Laylee will release on PS4 in Q1 2017. We look forward to showing you much more of the lizard and bat’s adventure in the run up to release. View the full article

  6. Hello PlayStation fans, Dom here from Ninja Theory. Work continues on our upcoming PlayStation 4 title Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice and today I’m very happy to be sharing with you a new development diary video – Episode 23 in our open development series. In this diary we give an update on Hellblade’s combat gameplay and show new footage of the game in action. Over the past six weeks or so our small team of 16 people has been focused on taking some big strides forward with the look, feel and sound of Hellblade’s combat gameplay. This has included painstaking work from our combat designer to iterate over and over on the feel of Senua’s moves in battle, the blending of motion-captured stunts with hand-animation to bring through both character and realism in Senua’s movement, and the building of an environment in which to demo Senua’s new skills. And that’s not to mention the character art, FX, audio, cinematics and programming time that has gone into moving our game’s combat further along the road to completion. We still have a long way to go, but we’re happy with the progress that we’re making. Hellblade development continues at full speed here at Ninja Theory. As our combat group continues to develop Senua’s combat, the rest of the team are turning their attention to different areas of the game. We’re regularly shooting scenes for the game in our in-house homemade performance capture studio and we are excited to be continuing our work with a great group of actors that are performing the various voices that Senua hears throughout our journey. Our composer, Andy LaPlegua, is due to visit the studio to plan out the game’s remaining music and a small group within the team is taking on the task of breaking the back of Senua’s movement outside of combat. We look forward to coming back to PlayStation.Blog soon with another update. If you like what you’ve seen in our latest development diary, you can catch up with all of Hellblade work so far in our previous diaries. Set aside an afternoon and enjoy 22 episodes (!) of diaries covering everything from Hellblade’s music & environment building through to performance capture and character art. All previous diaries can be found on our YouTube channel. Thank you for all of your support so far from everyone in the Hellblade team. View the full article
  7. Hello, PlayStation.Blog! This is Aurélie from Frogwares studio. We’re really happy to present our latest trailer, a glimpse into Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter. As you know, each of our games plunges Holmes into a new situation which pushes him to his limits. It’s always fun to see the hero suffer, isn’t it? What if Holmes risks losing everything this time? No, not his reputation; something far more precious… A New HolmesSome people have asked us why we changed Holmes; I’m going to use this post to answer that. A cold and “old schoolâ€â€˜ Holmes can work really well when it comes to playing a detective who is manipulative and/or unfeeling. This time around, though, we wanted him to be open to emotion. We needed a character who was a credible father. Clumsy — OK, but still loving. So we reworked it that way to create a strong emotional bond between Holmes and his daughter, Katelyn. But you can’t modify just one character — you need balance. Katelyn has to be cheeky and reactive, Watson a believable friend, everyone around them dynamic. In other words, it’s not a matter of making cosmetic changes, but rather a fundamental change to the game itself. Therefore, the game universe has to be modern and open. While there are still investigations drawing Holmes’ attention, our Baker Street has come to life; thus we had to revitalize all the other areas too. In The Devil’s Daughter, the suspects appeal to Holmes’ sentiments, the situations remind him of his duties, and his conclusions are not without consequence for life in Baker Street. The world around Holmes is now more than just a stage prop: it acts and reacts. We’ve changed the depth, but not the DNA. So if you’re worried, don’t be. The gameplay presents the same dynamic: it doesn’t renounce the classic Sherlock Holmes fundamentals of conducting the investigation and uncovering the truth. You know how much we like deducing! We still want you to feel like you’re an extraordinary detective! It’s just that the investigations, while still as complex, are darker and leave more room for emotion. Why? Quite simply because the more intense the cases, the deeper they twist the knife. Let me explain: when he sets off on an investigation, Holmes thinks he is leaving his problems with his daughter behind him. But the darkness of the stories only serves to reflect his mistakes all the more clearly. Who is he to demand the truth when he can’t speak it to his own daughter? What right does he have to decide the fate of the unlucky when he himself does harm? So take a deep breath and make your own decisions! Darkness and grey matter. Love and humour. Action and questions… We hope you’ll have something to mull over starting June 10 on PS4! View the full article
  8. One year ago, we announced I am Setsuna at our E3 press conference. This year, on July 19, it comes to the west on PlayStation Store. I Am Setsuna’s gameplay is reminiscent of an old school JRPG. The subtle way the characters move, the music, and the battles evoke the games some of us grew up playing, but with a splash of novelty once you pick up the controller. I am Setsuna tells the tale of a land that has maintained peace with a fiend – once every decade, a sacrifice is offered to a fiend on the island. However, one year, the fiend grows violent before the next sacrifice is due. Those living on the island are afraid and try to calm the fiend by offering a sacrifice — Setsuna — chosen because of her powers of enchantment. Setsuna must leave with her safeguards for the farthest land, where the ceremony of sacrifice will be held. Below is a list of interesting facts about I Am Setsuna that community manager Dan Seto and I have learned through the year. The creation of the game and the story behind its developer, Tokyo RPG Factory, was a discovery in it of itself! I am Setsuna is known as “Ikenie To Yuki No Setsuna†in Japan. In Japanese Ikenie means sacrifice, Yuki means snow and Setsuna means sorrow. The team felt that the word “Setsunai†feeling sorrow was a very heartfelt term in Japan, and it is one of the key themes of the game but obviously that word doesn’t have any meaning outside of Japan so the name of the game in the west was changed to I am Setsuna because of the character Setsuna’s role in the story. The word “Setsuna†also means “a moment in time†in Japanese. This ties into the momentum system in the game where you gain SP (Setsuna Points) by letting the momentum gauge fill once the ATB bar is full. SP points can be used to add various bonus effects to a character’s attacks and techs. The characters leave trails in the snow as they run which slowly fill up again over time, covering their tracks. You can try to write your name in the snow! The game development studio behind I am Setsuna is called Tokyo RPG Factory and their goal is to carefully create RPG’s of yesteryear, merging the nostalgic elements from the 90’s with today’s technology. When hiring staff for Tokyo RPG Factory, applicants were not told that the studio was part of Square Enix. Yosuke Matsuda (CEO of Square Enix) wanted to hire people who were passionate about RPGs, rather than people who wanted to work for Square Enix. Tokyo RPG Factory is a micro studio of ten dedicated staff. A further 20 freelance staff make up the rest of the studio so it’s a small team like how games were created back in the day! Coincidentally, the director of I Am Setsuna (Atsushi Hashimoto) previously worked at Racjin and worked with Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi on a RPG called ASH: Archaic Sealed Heat. Atsushi Hashimoto stated in an interview that he wants people to reflect back on the game and remember the game as “An RPG of Snowâ€. He really wants to create a game that people can reflect back on that is impactful. Remembering the PlayStation and Super Nintendo era, the team crafted I am Setsuna by bringing rich story, music, simple turn based controls and gameplay mechanisms that include dungeon crawling, shopping in the cities and carefully upgrading your party, I am Setsuna allows those who grew up loving these elements to enjoy what they loved. This is a game that will strike deep emotion. The concept of I am Setsuna was written in September 2014, development began the following month and, by August 2015, an alpha version (in Japanese) was complete. In the story, the main character Endir protects Setsuna as she journeys through the environments of snow and ice. There are also other characters that Setsuna will travel with and their names are Keel, Kuon, Yomi and Julion. The character design was done by toi8 — the team knew they wanted this character designer from the get go. Not only is he known by the current generation, his art style matches up nicely reflecting a melancholy spirit and heroic defeat that is visually striking. Previously he has worked on popular anime series Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Attack on Titan. The original soundtrack for the game features 2 discs, packed with over 70 tracks that solely utilizes the piano. The music was created by Tomoki Miyoshi who had his debut project on Soul Calibur V when he was 16 years old (he is now 22)! The melodies are soft and reminiscent of a yearning for calmness except during battle. The soundtrack includes the piano performance by Randy Kerber, who has worked as a studio keyboardist on many Hollywood films including Forrest Gump and Titanic.Unless you have an item in the game called Mistone, you cannot escape from battles. We hope that you were able to learn something new about I am Setsuna — the game comes out July 19th! “Countless adventures captivated us when we were kids. Now, it’s time for us to return the favour with adventures of our own.†– Tokyo RPG Factory. View the full article
  9. Hi, everyone! My name is Erdem and I am from the microstudio Pixel Lantern, which actually consists of only my wife Jenny and me. With this blog post, I’d like to give you all some information on our new PS4 and PS Vita game, Bard’s Gold. We’ve been working on it for about 18 months and are thrilled to announce that the game will launch on PS4 and PS Vita on June 17 for $4.99 with super sweet Cross-Buy support. Do you remember how games felt back in the day? When platform games had this certain magical mood to them? No, I am not referring to pixel graphics or chiptune music. There was something else. A game’s soul that you were discovering while you played it. You played it again and again and got better at it. Finally, you were able to overcome enemies, bosses, and stages you previously thought you could never beat. This is why we developed Bard’s Gold. We want to bring that magical mood, that soul, and that challenge back. That challenge in which players have to stand on their own and figure out even the basic game mechanics. Yup, you got that one right. There won’t be any tutorials in Bard’s Gold. No hand-holding, no watered down easy mode. That’s right, you are on your own. You have to figure out how to double jump on your own. Darn, I just spoiled the double jump! You know, the extraordinary movement that makes you jump higher by pressing the button once more while in the air. Well, that’s all the help I’m giving you. Bard’s Gold is slower-paced than most modern platformers and takes its gameplay inspiration from late ’80s and early ’90s classics such as Rick Dangerous, Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Rainbow Islands, Wonder Boy in Monster World, Erik, and Rodland. It features an original soundtrack that perfectly frames the atmosphere, soothes your soul and fills you with confidence as you overcome levels you once thought were unbeatable. Speaking of levels, there are more than 100 of them. All have been handcrafted and are picked randomly for each playthrough. And if that is not enough to keep you playing over and over again, the game features a permanent upgrade system to make each and every one of your sessions count. I hope you enjoy Bard’s Gold and experience the magical mood of past games. Welcome aboard the Nostalgia Train! View the full article
  10. Some good old-fashioned robot mayhem is landing June 7th on PS4. Broken Bots is arcade-style multiplayer robot warfare where players dish out power-ups to teammates — and glitches to foes. What is the cause of this robotic anarchy you ask? At the core of Broken Bots is the Malfunction Gun. As you battle it out online in Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, Team Deathmatch, or Crazy King, your Malfunction Gun will charge up as you rack up kills or hack the enemy’s generator. Once fully charged, use it to gift your teammates power-ups like increased speed and bullet spread. Or fire it at enemies to cripple their bots with reverse controls, decreased speed, and other debilitating debuffs. Online matches support 12 players at one time, and you can also play alongside your buddies in local co-op. Each bot can be customized with passive abilities and skills, and each player can pick the type of weapon, from flamethrowers to rocket launchers, that best suits their gaming style. There is also a Survival Mode for those who, whether alone or with a friend, like to fight against the odds. A salute to these brave souls! Broken Bots will be available for the PS4 on June 7th for $6.99 USD. View the full article

  14. Hi all, Graeme Ankers here, CEO at new UK developer and publisher Fabrik Games. Do you like stealth games, but hate that you cannot go off-plan when it hits the fan? Do you like action games, but get frustrated that you cannot use your brains as much as brawn to tackle a sticky situation? If you answered yes to any of the above, you will want to stick around for this next part: Filthy Lucre is the game you have been waiting for. Action and stealth meet in the murky underworld of Filthy Lucre, where you will infiltrate Britain’s criminal network to help your rotten boss take out an equally rotten rival gang’s operation. We are bringing the unique flavour of Brit gangster flicks to games, with all the slick suits, sly humour and sore heads you would expect. We have created a game that allows you to dynamically choose how you want to play, without feeling constrained by the design. If your carefully planned, tactical approach goes pear-shaped, there is no need to rage-quit; change up the plan, switch to assault weapons and muscle your way out. The game dynamically adapts to your play style, with cutting edge AI adjusting their approach. Filthy Lucre is all about the cinematic art of the reversal: hunter becomes hunted becomes hunter becomes… you get the point. Every single mission can be played your way; go in all guns blazing or go dark and avoid all enemy contact. With over 30 upgradable weapons and gear items, you will never be able to blame your tools. Filthy Lucre takes place across varied locations, ranging from swanky corporate headquarters to the nitty gritty of elaborate bank heists. With missions spanning the city’s seedy underbelly, it’s not only loot you’re after – assassinate high profile VIPs, sabotage gang operations and cause chaos wherever you can. It’s not just the objectives you can tackle your own way, our non-linear mission structure allows you to pick and choose the right mission at the right time. Only got time for a quick blast? Jump in and take out a VIP. Looking for something more involved? Get your safecracking gloves on and empty everything you can from the bank’s secure vault. Our entire campaign is not only a blast in single player, but any mission can also be tackled with a friend in network or local multiplayer. Just make sure they don’t nick all your precious swag… Releasing this summer, we cannot wait to show you more of the game. In the meantime check out our reveal trailer and head over to fabrikgames;to find more info and sign up to receive more news about all things Filthy Lucre. View the full article

  16. Hello once again, my darling PlayStation nation! I hope you were able to get outdoors on your long weekend, because Powers Season 2 launches today with its first three episodes in the US and Canada! Episode one is completely free to everyone on PlayStation Store, or you can watch it in full on PlayStation’s YouTube below (let me know what you think!). Starting with episode two, active PlayStation Plus members can continue to watch for free, with new episodes dropping each week until the season finale on July 19. Season 2 delves into the storyline made famous by the first comic “Who Killed Retro Girl?†as the Powers Division investigates the shocking murder of world-famous superhero Retro Girl, and the mysteries that her death uncovers. In addition to the return of Sharlto Copley (Det. Christian Walker), Susan Heyward (Det. Deena Pilgrim), Logan Browning (Zora) and Olesya Rulin (Calista), Season 2 welcomes Michael Madsen (Supershock), Tricia Helfer (Agent Lange) and Wil Wheaton (Conrad Moody) to the already very talented cast. We want to thank all of the PlayStation Nation for the countless support that you’ve shown since our Powers journey began two years ago. The team behind Powers has been hard at work making season two more action-packed than the last and we hope you will enjoy it! And, for those hardcore Powers fans, as was announced last week, After Powers premieres today on Machinima’s YouTube Channel at 8:00pm PT — a weekly talk show discussing the week’s episode with creators and stars of the show. Hosted by Chloe Dykstra, this week’s After Powers will feature executive producer Remí Aubuchon and Olesya Rulin. Before we go, we all had a blast at last week’s premiere and wanted to share some pictures of our Powers friends and family, take a look! BENDIS! View the full article
  17. PS Plus fans, we’re pleased to share with you two excellent PS4 PS Plus games for June. First up, to help get everyone hyped for the NBA Finals, we’ve teamed up with 2K to add NBA 2K16 to the June lineup. One of the most critically acclaimed sports titles ever, NBA 2K16 has tons of great gameplay for everyone. With robust offline modes like MyCareer and MyGM, and deep online modes including MyTeam and MyLeague, there is an incredible amount of content to offer all types of gamers. So be the baller you always wanted to be and guide your team to the NBA Championship. Next up is Gone Home: Console Edition. Gone Home is one of the most talked about titles from the last few years for good reason. While it’s an interesting exploration/adventure game, it’s the narrative of Gone Home that’s so remarkable. The game has a strong development team, including Steve Gaynor, who worked on a few titles in the BioShock series. The Fulbright Company (now just Fullbright) created an intimate and unique story that is well worth your time. Full lineup: NBA 2K16, PS4 Gone Home: Console Edition, PS4 Echochrome, PS3 Siren: Blood Curse (Episodes 1-12), PS3 God of War: Chains of Olympus, PS Vita Little Deviants, PS Vita I’ll see you in the comments section. Enjoy. View the full article
  18. Hello PlayStation! My name is Matthew Steinke, and I’m so excited to bring you this very special look at our upcoming Blood and Wine expansion, which launches today. When we set out to design an entirely new region of The Witcher’s vast living world, we wanted to take you on an fantastic journey far beyond the war-ravaged villages of No Man’s Land and stormy beachfronts of the Skellige islands. Taken directly from the pages of The Witcher fantasy novels, we welcome you to the Nilfgaardian realm of Toussaint; the enchanting and mysterious Land of Wine. Heavily inspired by the beauty and pageantry of the French/Italian countryside, Beauclair, the region’s capital, blends rolling hills, winding roads, charming villas and intriguing characters to create a colorful and vibrant landscape unlike anything you’ve seen in Hearts of Stone. This change in contrast, from our traditional Slavic mythos of The Wild Hunt to a world of fairytales gone wrong, opened a world of possibilities enabling us to craft a completely fresh adventure full of dark deeds, unexpected twists, romance and deceit. Pouring all of that passion and creativity into over 30 hours of open-world exploration, we’ve packed the world with ancient elven ruins, surreal monsters and legendary places of power, where every point of interest takes you further down the rabbit hole and one step closer to unraveling the horrifying secret behind a strange beast terrorizing the kingdom. With all trails leading to dead ends, only The Witcher can solve the mystery and survive the evil lurking in the night. Along the way, you can team up with powerful allies, demonstrate your true fighting skill in the Grand Tourney and upgrade your combat abilities with 12 new skill-augmenting Mutations. To help prepare Geralt for his final quest, we’ve also added alchemical recipes, crafting schematics, and a new grandmaster level of Witcher armor featuring new looks and improved statistics for each of the existing witcher schools. For the intrepid explorers who enjoy delving even deeper into the world of The Witcher, 13 custom armor dyes can be applied individually to color every piece of the set. For all of the completionists out there, there’s also a set of rare dyes and alchemical dye recipes that can only be acquired by overcoming the most remote and challenging areas of the Toussaint region. Looking back over all of the new features, I’d say this one is my favorite. Unlike an ancestral sword that deals more damage or a piece of relic armor that provides greater resistance to injury, with no impact on player statistics, this feature is all about experimentation, having fun and realizing the story you wish to tell. A decision made based on all of the community feedback we’ve received over the last year, this new game mechanic is a special thanks from all of us here at CD Projekt Red to you, the best fans in the world! 19. With E3 just around the corner (wow, is it really only two weeks away?!), I’m excited to announce that the PlayStation E3 Experience is coming back on Monday, June 13, to over 85 movie theaters across the US, Canada, and for the first time, Latin America! In 2014, we had this crazy idea to partner with Fathom Events and broadcast our E3 Press Conference LIVE to some theaters North America, not knowing if this was something people would even be interested in attending. Two years later, and we’ve had to more than double our seating capacity to accommodate everybody! There’s just something special about watching the news and excitement of E3 together with fellow PlayStation fans that makes this an event I look forward to every year. Between the loud cheers that, honestly, probably ruin movies for people in adjacent theaters (sorry not sorry), and the camaraderie felt in the air from being surrounded by the PlayStation Nation, there’s no better way to experience E3. In addition to getting to watch an HD simulcast of our E3 Press Conference, fans in attendance will go home with special PlayStation goods, including a commemorative Coca-Cola E3 Experience Cup and #37 from the PlayStation Collectible Card series first introduced at PlayStation Experience 2015! This is the only way to get your hands on these exclusive collectibles, so don’t miss your opportunity. Of course, we didn’t forget about the digital gift basket this year, but the contents of that will have to remain a surprise for now… Tickets for US and CanadaTickets, as usual, are absolutely FREE and will be available at PlayStation.com/E3Experience starting Tuesday, May 31 at 10:00am Pacific Time, so set those alarms. Once tickets run out at any particular location, we’ll be taking names down to go on the waitlist. We have a select number of seats reserved for waitlist attendees, who will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis. 20. What’s up, World Warriors! We’re happy to announce that Ibuki — everyone’s favorite kunoichi — is making her return in Street Fighter V as our latest DLC character! She has always been a very tricky, technical character so players who are looking for a challenge won’t be disappointed as she comes with loads of new ninjutsu tricks up her sleeve to keep her opponent guessing at all times. Ibuki has been trained in the deadly art of ninjutsu from an early age in a village located in the mountains of Japan and is often seen with her pet tanuki — Don — and her best friend Sarai Kurosawa. She is constantly tasked with difficult missions and rigorous training and dreams of one day finishing her ninja exams, leaving all this behind to live a life of a normal schoolgirl. Her first appearance was in Street Fighter III: New Generation where she is sent by her clan to retrieve the “G file†from Gill, which she obtains after their battle. This document details the start of a new mysterious project and Gill condescendingly instructs her to use it as a reference paper for her studies. In Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, she goes on to complete her training with Oro in the hopes of passing her ninja exams and furthering her education. She does so and is accepted to a university which turns out to be just another chapter in her training as it is revealed to be a secret ninjutsu training facility. Street Fighter III is also where we learn that she has quite the knack for picking up rivals, as you’ll see in her special intro with Makoto. Her next major appearance was in Super Street Fighter IV, where she sneaks off from her ninja training to search for cool guys, meeting various rivals like Sakura Kasugano and eventually ending up back at the ninja training camp, late for her exams. Besides the mainline Street Fighter titles, she has also appeared in a number of crossover games such as Pocket Fighter and Street Fighter x Tekken. Character Overview Ibuki has always been a very mobile character with various target combos, but she now has even more ways to mix-up the opponent with the ability to glide through the air and toss out ninja bombs, making it very difficult to predict where she will land and where her next attack will come from. Kunais have also been a cornerstone of her playstyle, but now players will have to be much more strategic in their use as she can only stock five at a time before she has to quickly obtain another set. That said, their utility is just as powerful as ever as she can send her entire stock flying at the opponent for serious damage. V-SKILL: Tenrai Ibuki builds up energy and blasts it from her palm towards the opponent. The blast range is dependent on how long Tenrai is charged for. V-TRIGGER: Isshaku Horokudama Ibuki digs into her bag of ninja tools and throws a bomb at the opponent. Depending on which direction is held upon activation, the bomb can either go off quickly, after a slight delay or after a longer delay. Ibuki is extremely crafty and impatient, however, so there might be other ways to trigger the explosion. CRITICAL ART: Kachofugetsu The pinnacle of Ibuki’s ninjutsu training! Ibuki launches the opponent into the air, quickly following after them. She then performs a series of ninjutsu seals, culminating in a large scale blast to the opponent’s skull. You probably notice from the trailer and screens, but we also have a brand new alternate stage coming! It’s a daytime version of the Kanzuki Estate stage, aptly named Estate at Noon. Look forward to throwing down among the sunlit cherry blossoms! That’s it for today, but we have a lot of exciting news coming very soon! June is going to be a huge month for Street Fighter V, with the highly-anticipated Story Expansion and more surprises planned, so stay tuned and be sure to follow us @StreetFighter on Twitter for the latest updates! 22. Hello, Sean Murray from Hello Games here, working extremely hard on our game, No Man’s Sky. The game really has come together, and it’s such an incredible relief. As we sit an play it now, and as I watch playtesters every day, I can finally let myself get excited. We’re actually doing this. However, as we approached our final deadlines, we realized that some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards. I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special. After a short delay, No Man’s Sky will launch in North America on August 9, in Europe August 10, and in the UK August 12. We understand that this news is disappointing. Making this game is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but we are so close now, and we’re prepared to make the tough choices to get it right. The universe of No Man’s Sky is incredibly vast. More than you can imagine. This is a type of game that hasn’t been attempted before, by a smaller team than anyone would expect, under an intense amount of expectation. And despite all of that, development is genuinely going well. This is the hardest working, most talented team I’ve ever worked with, and I’m so proud of what we’re doing. For all our sakes though, we get one shot to make this game and we can’t mess it up. To the loyal community who’s stuck by our side since the unveiling of No Man’s Sky years ago, we hope you’ll accept our sincere apology and I am humbly asking that you’ll still look forward to exploring our universe despite the slight delay. Thank you so much, Sean View the full article
  23. Brace yourselves, brawlers! Aksys Games and Arc System Works proudly announce that BlazBlue: Central Fiction is coming to the PS4 and PS3 Winter 2016! The latest entry in the BlazBlue franchise, Central Fiction introduces an all-new story and features tons of characters, new and old alike. Demon/cyborg hybrids, vampires, cat people, berserkers, and science experiments run amok are but a fraction of what you can expect to see on the packed fighter roster. Familiar faces return to wreak havoc while new challengers emerge from the sidelines with flashy moves and insane techniques. Blazblue is a series that has always been known for its over-the-top gameplay and Central Fiction continues that tradition with two new game mechanics. Players have even more strategic possibilities for combat with the additions of Exceed Accel and Active Flow. Exceed Accel is activated during an Overdrive and unleashes a chaotic attack that deals massive damage to the opponent. Active Flow utilizes the Heat Gauge and once activated, boosts your attack power as well as your Exceed Accel damage. Adding more mechanics and offensive weapons to your move arsenal might seem overwhelming, but options are a fighter’s best friend and one can never have enough to add to their bag of beat down tricks. Still not convinced? Fear not! If you’re getting clobbered on the learning curve, simply choose Stylish mode and tune up the competition with simplified move inputs. A fighting game is nothing without battlefields to brawl on and Central Fiction weighs in with tons of arenas and level variations. New locales and familiar stomping grounds are all rendered in 3D and offer a unique contrast to the intricately hand-drawn 2D fighter sprites. Dust off your knuckles, fighting fans! Like a well-timed 2D punch, Central Fiction bashes massive amounts of content into one slick title that hits hard (in all the right places!) and keeps the pummeling steady. Coming to PS4 and PS3, BlazBlue: Central Fiction steps onto the battlefield this winter! View the full article
  24. It’s official –Smite, the world’s No. 1 action MOBA, will exit beta and launch May 31st on PS4. Never heard of Smite? Wondering if it’s the right game for you? Here’s a quick quiz: Do you like action? ✔ Do you like games that are easy to pick up, but tuned for competitive play?✔ Do you think most MOBAs look way too slow/boring/complicated? ✔ Do you think FREE is the perfect price?✔ If you said yes, you’re just like the 20+ million players who have entered the Battleground of the Gods. In Smite, you become a God from ancient mythology like the mighty Zeus, Greek God of the Sky or the magical Kukulkan, the Mayan Serpent of the Nine Winds. Then it’s all on you to unleash your deity’s unique fighting style, legendary weapons, and earth-shattering powers to defeat your foes. 25. At long last, Moon Hunters is trekking to PS4, to be released in North America and Europe on July 12, 2016 through PlayStation Store. I’m the design lead on the team of five-ish making this game. We call ourselves Kitfox, and we’ve been working for years on this little world. It started as a doodled idea in 2013, inspired by old surreal and occult-looking paintings from our artist. Almost a year later we were Kickstarting, and when that was a clear success, BAM! We could afford to bring the game to PS4. It feels strange to think it’s been so long since we made that announcement – time passes really quickly when you’re working hard, I guess. It’s a little bit later than our original target of winter 2015, but we wanted to make it the best possible version of the game. The game itself has changed a lot since the original concept, but the whole time, we’ve been driven by this fascination with “mythology,†and what it means for a person to become a legend. We knew we wanted to make a “party gameâ€-style RPG, about 45 minutes long each session. So rather than make each session epic in and of itself, we ended up focusing on the constellations and legends you create, which are saved across playthroughs. We only have a couple of months left until the PS4 launch, but there’s still lots of little details to tweak and fix, cooking to make more delicious, familiars to make more adorable, constellations to make more sparkly, etc. I’m sure it’ll be July 12th before I know it, but all we can do is buckle down and get it done. Part of the joy of being an indie developer is getting to have personal contact with your fans – and we’ve had our hearts warmed by all of your fan letters and fan art. Keep sending them, through Twitter and Facebook! Thank you! View the full article
