Good news, PlayStation Nation — Hitman Go: Definitive Edition will be released on PS4 and PS Vita on February 23rd! If you’ve never heard of it before, Hitman Go is a turn-based strategy/puzzle game set in the Hitman universe, but reinvented as diorama-style set pieces. For $7.99, this revisited edition of Hitman Go features all of the original game’s content and upgrades, which adds up to about 91 turn-based puzzles (some of which are particularly difficult to complete). Long-time Hitman fans will also recognize some old favorites like the Paris Opera from Blood Money, and the St. Petersburg Stakeout mission from Hitman 2: Silent Assassin. Beyond that, here’s what you really want to know: Yes, the game has a Platinum Trophy! Yes, the game will be cross-buy and cross-save! You’ll also be able to play the way you want to, whether it’s with DualShock 4’s analog stick or touchpad, or from PS Vita’s front touch screen. With its plethora of visual upgrades, Hitman Go has never looked better, and you’ll be able to inspect every detail of it more than ever. We can’t wait to see what you think of our take on the world of Agent 47. We’re looking forward to reading your comments and hearing your impressions soon! View the full article

It’s been some time since we last left off with The Walking Dead series at Telltale in the summer of 2014. Since then, we’ve been hard at work with Robert Kirkman and the team at Skybound Entertainment in fleshing out some very big ideas for where to take things next. The first two seasons of our series followed the stories of Lee Everett, Clementine, and Kenny — focusing on these predominately original characters from Telltale, along with appearances from characters like Glenn and Hershel. Beyond that, we haven’t truly taken the opportunity to explore some of our favorite characters from the comics in rich detail… until now. Among all of the iconic characters in Robert Kirkman’s universe, Michonne has been a fan favorite here at the studio. Without spoiling the story of the frankly incredible comics, there comes a point in time where she leaves Rick and her group of survivors to explore some of her inner demons on her own. Where she goes and what stories unfold during this time away have always been largely a mystery in the storyline. But this miniseries on PS4 and PS3 presents the perfect opportunity for us to take the reins. Playing as Michonne makes for a signature Telltale experience. Deeply haunted by some of the decisions of her past, Michonne was the mother of two children when she was making headway in her career as a lawyer. With priorities shifting away from her family during the devastating outbreak, she is forever regretful of her inability to be there to save her family. In the extended preview video, we step into the shoes and the mind of Michonne for the first time, as today we are revealing the first look at the miniseries’ prologue. Writing and designing for a complex and powerful character like Michonne has been a dream for the studio, and we’re incredibly excited for everyone to play this miniseries when it premieres for download on February 23rd! The second episode will follow in March, and conclude in April not long afterward. While we highly recommend reading the comics, and of course, playing previous seasons of our series, prior knowledge or save files are not necessary, and the miniseries will be available as a stand-alone product. So whether you’re a longtime fan, or new to this series, Michonne is a great place to start! Beyond the miniseries, we’re also very hard at work on a full third season of The Walking Dead. We don’t expect to have any details until sometime after this miniseries concludes, but given what’s planned for the future, we don’t think you’ll want to miss this story before what’s to come. It’s looking to be a very big year of the undead at Telltale! Thanks for reading, and as always, let us know if you have any questions in the comments! View the full article

Hello, everyone! Things move fast with Final Fantasy XIV, and we’ve already arrived at Patch 3.2, which will be hitting the servers of our critically acclaimed MMO in less than two weeks. More and more content is flowing into the game, but what’s great for our experienced players can be confusing for beginners, who may be daunted by the huge breadth of content they have to scale. To help them brave this challenge, Patch 3.2 will introduce the Mentor system – and we had the exclusive opportunity to ask Naoki Yoshida, the Producer and Director of Final Fantasy XIV, some questions about it. Q: Thank you for taking the time for this Q&A, Mr. Yoshida. FFXIV is a global phenomenon with players in Japan, Europe, North America, Korea and China on PS3, PS4, PC and Mac. To support and offer players constant content updates, you must be a very busy man! Do you get any sleep at all? A: Hello, PlayStation.Blog readers! I’m Naoki Yoshida, the producer and director of FFXIV. Luckily (?) I got the flu on 5th of February, so I’ve been stuck at home since then! But as we were in the middle of the final checks on Patch 3.2 content, I asked to be given access to the development servers from home and worked “comfortably†checking the new content from there! Q: The mentor system is going to be introduced in Patch 3.2, which hits the FFXIV servers on the February 23rd. Can you tell us roughly what the mentor system is and why you have chosen to implement this feature? A: “Mentor†is a special status for experienced players, who are only able to call themselves mentors after obtaining certain achievements and meeting certain criteria. Mentors are players who support beginners who have just started their adventures in-game and answer their questions from the standpoint of a seasoned veteran. Mentorship is also a new element to help those who role play and to further enhance the player community. With the arrival of Patch 3.2, a special chat channel called the Novice Network will be added to each world. This chat channel can only be used by mentors and new players who have played the game for less than 40 hours. The purpose of this channel is to offer a place for new players to ask mentors about the game and for mentors to give answers to their questions. To eliminate the prospect of any malicious RMT (Real Money Traders) from invading the chat channel, we made it so only mentors can invite new players into it. On top of that, when a mentor and new player form a party, they will both receive an experience point bonus. In addition to this, a special duty roulette called “Duty Roulette: Mentor†that is only available for mentors will be added. This roulette will grant a priority on matching mentors with new players or players who haven’t beaten the specific dungeon or trial yet. MMORPGs offer a huge amount of content and gameplay systems, so I can imagine how playing one could potentially be overwhelming for some players, especially when they play an MMORPG or online game for the first time. However, the introduction of the mentor system with this new patch enables veteran players to proactively support those who have started the game recently, creating an opportunity for both veteran players and rookies to meet and get to know each other. Now is a very good time for anyone who hasn’t played the game before to begin! To any experienced players out there, I’d love for you all to support our new players. I’m also ready to be a mentor on my personal character. Q: That’s pretty cool, and I’m sure many new players will appreciate this. So, how will I, as an experienced veteran adventurer of Eorzea, be able to sign up to be a mentor? Are there any tests or trials I have to master, to test my mettle? A: As I mentioned earlier, players need to obtain certain achievements to be a mentor. Requirements for those who are geared towards battle content are: At least one level 60 job in each role of tank, healer and DPS To have completed a total of more than 1,000 dungeons and trials and… … to have received 300 or more commendations If your expertise is more focused on gathering and crafting, your requirements will be: At least one level 60 class in both a crafting and gathering class To have crafted over 100 collectables, and… … to have gathered 300 collectables By fulfilling either one of these two requirements, you will be able to become a mentor by speaking to a certain NPC. Q: Sounds like quite a challenge! Will I get any benefits from becoming a mentor? A: The basic concept behind the mentor system is to allow players the ability to volunteer their time, which can also be seen as a form of role-playing. However, mentors will also be able to get special achievements and titles after you use the mentor roulette at certain number of times. In the future, we also plan to add special rewards after obtaining certain achievements. That being said, we made the amount of rewards for mentors small to reduce the number of players who may become mentors purely to get their hands on rewards. I think the biggest reward for a mentor is that they can see how new players grow and become fully-fledged adventurers! Well, at least I’m looking forward to witnessing these moments! Q: Well, good deeds are best rewarded with a smile! Now, imagine I am a completely new player who has just logged into the game for the first time. Will the game introduce mentors to me? How will I find them? A: Players out in the field or in towns have a name-plate above them and mentor characters will have a crown icon next to their name, so it will be easy to spot them. New players have a sprout icon next to their name instead. By just being in the Novice Network channel, you’ll see many mentors logged in so feel free to simply ask them some questions. They will answer your questions wherever they are and they may even run to your aid! Q: Ah, easy to pick up then. So, now I’m a new player with a mentor. How does that influence the way I play? Is it possible to reward or rate my mentor for giving good advice? A: If you and your mentor form a party and go into a dungeon, both of you will gain more experience than usual. This will also happen when you participate in Full Active Time Events (FATEs), which appear in the open world. Also, a lot of mentors will be knowledgeable about the combat basics of the class, job and role that you play, so just ask them if you are unsure of something and they’ll give you great advice. When you get closer to mentors, they may also invite you to a Linkshell or Free Company that they are already a member of. If your mentor does a good job, please be sure to thank them! We believe your words of gratitude and encouragement will mean more than any in-game rewards, and make their mentor status something to be proud of. Q: That’s awesome – will that work together with the recruit-a-friend program? If my friend is a mentor, that is. Can new players with the free trial use it as well? A: If you are certified to be a mentor, of course. All players with a playtime of under 40 hours can benefit from the mentor system. Q: Sounds like an impressive new feature that will make life much easier for new players! But that’s not the only thing which will help them that’s coming in Patch 3.2, is it? What exactly is the “Hall of the Novice A: The Hall of the Novice is a place for new players to do some training and to earn knowledge of the game systems before moving on to dungeons. It features two elements: One is a series of challenges that allow you to train and play, and the other is a building packed with helpful NPCs that offer game tips. Both are available for players when they reach level 15, just before you enter the first dungeon while doing the main scenario. Just follow the main scenario and you will be guided there eventually. With the training mode, you will be able to learn the basics of playing in a party for each of the three roles: Tank, Healer and DPS while learning the ropes as you play. After completing the training modes, you will be rewarded with cool gear, so I recommend that you first clear all the content the Hall of the Novice has to offer before you enter the first dungeon. Q: Well, that sounds like a fantastic addition to the game that will make it easier for new adventurers to find their way in Eorzea. Thank you once again for taking the time to speak to us. We’re looking forward to Patch 3.2 and beyond! A: The development team is in the middle of making final adjustments to content ahead of the release of Patch 3.2, the first major content update in 2016. Our only enemy is influenza! We’ll do our best to get through this tough time and deliver the new update to you all. Thank you everyone and see you in Eorzea! So, what did you think of that? As a veteran, will you be helping new players as a mentor? As someone who has never played before, do you plan on signing up for the free trial, or are you even considering buying the game straight away on PlayStation Store? Let us know in the comments! It’s time to unpack your gear and start downloading. The Hitman Beta launches today for those of you that preordered the game. This is one of those moments where every single developer at Io-Interactive is keenly focused on what’s happening out in the world. We’ll be watching as you progress through the “Prologue,†as we call it, and take notes on everything that happens along the way to make sure everything is shiny and ready for the March 11th launch of the first episode of Hitman. Earlier in the week, we published a Beta FAQ to give you a first look at what’s included in the Prologue. The Prologue features two missions from Agent 47’s past. They represent that key moment, twenty years before the events that take place in Hitman, when Agent 47 meets his future handler Diana Burnwood and becomes a part of the International Contract Agency. During these two training missions, hosted at a secret ICA training facility, 47 gets to show the directors of the ICA exactly what he’s made of. With 50 challenges and many inventive ways of getting rid of your targets, you’ll have your hands full over this coming weekend. In addition to challenges, the Beta also introduces the new opportunity system, which allows players to discover some of the more elaborate kills the game has to offer. If you feel like discovering everything on your own, opportunities can be disabled and you’re left to find clues and hone in on the right moment to strike all on your own, of course. Square Enix will be hosting a livestream of the Beta today at 10 AM Pacific and we’ll be along in the comments watching as our friends in the LA and London offices take the Beta for a spin. This Beta is an important milestone for us and an important step towards making this game the best it can be. Please join us on the official forums and let us know how you like the Beta. Your feedback is extremely important and valued and will help us as we continue through the months, releasing new locations, new hits, and new live content for Hitman. Remember that PS4 players will also get exclusive access to The Sarejevo Six. These are six bonus contracts that tell a self-contained side-story revolving around former members of a paramilitary unit called CICADA. The first PS4 exclusive contract is called The Director and will be available when the game launches on March 11th. Your target is Scott Sarno, Director of European Operations for the CICADA private military corporation. After that, Agent 47 will travel the world in pursuit of his other targets, with one PS4 exclusive contract available in each location from the game. View the full article

Hi everyone, I’m Ryan Juckett and I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that Inversus will be launching on PS4 this spring! Let’s start this off right with a trailer and get everyone up to speed. Turn up that volume and hit play! The PremiseInversus is this unique mix of an action-packed arcade shooter and a territorial strategy game. Movement is constrained to either the black or white side of the board and tile colors are flipped by shooting. My paths are your walls and your paths are my walls. This results in a space that shifts with every attack as players try to open corridors, trap the enemy, or block incoming fire. Whether you’re competing with friends of trying to break the world-record against the computer, the always-changing play field makes every match a new experience. VersusLet’s chat about versus mode first (it is called Inversus). This is where you and your friends can duke it out in 1v1 or 2v2 matches. It was important to make something playable again and again without getting stale. A large chunk of that burden is carried by the level design. Each one of the maps has a specific, discrete purpose. It would be easy to just swap around some blocks and make a thousand random maps, but they would start to bleed together. They wouldn’t hold your interest. Switching to a new board needs to challenge you in new and unfamiliar ways. Rather than just discussing theory, let’s look at a small subset of the levels in store for you. Welcome to Alley — see those four red dots along the open alleyway? Those are hyper-shot pickups. You want them. Trust me. If you own the tile when they spawn, you can pick them up. That’s the primary reason to hold the alley, but even without the pickups, holding the alley lets you divide the map. In turn, you control where your opponent can move. This is Bomber, the first map that tries to break your brain. The screen seamlessly wraps on all sides. See those four white player ships? That’s actually the same single ship. When it starts to move up into the corner, it wraps around and appears in the other corners. To excel on this map, you need strong omnidirectional awareness. Learn to look at the whole screen. Pipes is all about single cell corridors. There is nowhere to dodge and blocking is your only defense. See those rings of dots on the player ships? That’s your ammo count. It can and will run out, though it’ll come back with time. Winners of this map keep a close eye on their opponent’s ammo. You can’t block attacks it you don’t have enough ammo to shoot back. ArcadeLike playing solo? Are you addicted to cooperation? Enter the arcade. At its core is a traditional rule set: shoot enemies for points, build up a multiplier, don’t run out of lives, brag about your spot on the leaderboard, etc. Once you add in the black and white spatial mechanics it’s a whole new ballgame. I like layering in subtle elements of depth for seasoned players to aspire towards. I also want to expose some variability without making the game random. One of the fun quirks of arcade mode is that enemy behavior can actually change based on your play. Doing a lot of charge attacks? The enemies might learn the same. Earn six lives? Enemies with shields might enter the ring. Control most of the map? I hope you like aggression. Details like this make it fun to enter the ring again and again. Idea to RealityThis is my nights and weekends indie passion project. During the days I work on bigger games with bigger teams. I started out surrounded by skateboards at Neversoft, and for the past five years I’ve been making the action gameplay of Destiny. In contrast, Inversus is a solitary creative outlet and was hand crafted out of nothing. There is no licensed engine, no sound effect library, and no texture package. It all started with an empty source code file, a white canvas, and a flat sound wave. That said, I’ll admit to needing help with the music (I can’t compose… yet) and Lyvo came to the rescue with a soundtrack. Building games from the ground up becomes rarer by the day, but for me it fosters a level of craft and satisfaction that doesn’t exist elsewhere. When you pick up the controller and feel that snappy response, that je ne sais quoi that can’t be described as much as it can be felt, all the work will have been worth it. I’ll see you on the leaderboards later this year! View the full article

Hi everyone! My name’s Alex Nichiporchik and I’m the CEO of tinyBuild. We’re an indie game developer and publisher. I’ve been working really hard as a producer on many of our titles, and you’re going to be hearing a lot about us this year as we have around half a dozen games being prepared for your DualShocking fingers. We’re going to kick things off with a game that is quite different to anything you’ve played before. The game is called Party Hard, it was developed by Ukrainian studio Pinokl Games, and I can now reveal that it’s coming to PS4 this spring. He just wanted some sleep…It’s 3:00 AM. The bass is unbearable. You just want to get some sleep. Who hasn’t been in a situation like that before? A year ago I was, and I kept on plotting ridiculous scenarios for how it could play out. In the real world, of course, the best thing is to call the police and let them deal with it. It wasn’t until a few months later that I saw the prototype for Party Hard, and an idea was born. This idea manifested in a video game about a guy who really wants to get some sleep, and finally snaps, grabbing a trusty knife and mask and heading over to stop the party. But once he’s finished, he realizes he has quite the knack for stopping parties. So he decides to go on a rampage around the U.S., ending parties left, right, and center. Don’t be fooled — Party Hard is an extremely silly game, despite its rather dark storyline. You’ll find yourself dancing with bears in sunglasses, poisoning the punch bowl, setting mantraps for unsuspecting party goers… and then running from the cops when it all goes pear-shaped. All you have to do is dispatch everybody at each party, but that’s easier said than done, as there are usually dozens of people swarming around. Fortunately, you don’t just have your knife — there are various traps around each level that can be used. Bears, zombies, giant aliens shooting rainbows… This is Party Hard. P-A-R-T-WHY? Because I Gotta! There are 19 different parties to crash, each with their own unique traps, party people, and problems. Maybe you’ll throw someone over the edge of a skyscraper, or start a conga line and stab each person one by one as they dance unwittingly along. Each party is semi-procedural, meaning that every time you play, it’s slightly different. The people at the party will be mixed up, and act in completely different ways. Meanwhile certain rooms and traps in each level will change. Maybe this time you’ll be able to slap a bull to run a bunch of people over. Or perhaps a gasoline can will spawn and you’ll be able to burn the place down. There are different characters to unlock, too. You start off with the guy who just wants some sleep, but eventually you’ll unlock a cop who can frame other party goers, a ninja who can hide in the shadows, and a butcher… with a chainsaw. Only the best players will work out how to unlock all the characters. And here’s the kicker: if you livestream the game using Twitch on your PS4, the people watching your stream will be able to enter commands into the live chat and mess around with your game. Maybe they’ll vote to send a SWAT team into the house to catch you, or unleash an army of angry bikers on the party. Just the BeginningSo that’s Party Hard! We’re excited to start our PlayStation story with such a ridiculous game, and we can’t wait to get the game into your hands very soon. And as I mentioned previously, this is just the first title you can expect from tinyBuild on PlayStation this year. We have plenty of games just as crazy as this one heading in your direction very soon, so you can expect to hear from me again on PlayStation.Blog very soon! View the full article

Today feels like we are cycling downhill on an out-of-control bike, with a pocket full of water-balloons and a grin from ear-to-ear. Why? Because Knights and Bikes is coming to PS4! It’s exciting for us because we’re the biggest fans of PlayStation and its games — we’ve even been lucky enough to work on some of them like LittleBigPlanet, Tearaway, and Ratchet and Clank, and we definitely didn’t want that to stop even after going indie! We’re currently running a campaign on Kickstarter, so we should introduce ourselves properly… We are Rex Crowle and Moo Yu and together we are Foam Sword! I was the Creative Lead on both Tearaway and Tearaway Unfolded, Moo was the Lead Gameplay Programmer on Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, and we both worked on LittleBigPlanet. In fact, it’s where we met! So what are we making now? Well, Knights and Bikes is a co-op action adventure game, inspired by our own childhoods and some of our favorite movies and games like The Goonies, Earthbound, and Secret of Mana. Knights and Bikes takes place on Penfurzy Island, off the coast of Cornwall; a place of medieval legend and modern tourism. Our story starts in 1987 when the island is under threat from a number of forces, ancient and modern, which can only be tackled by the island’s most overlooked heroes: its children. You play as Nessa, Demelza, and their gang of helpers. Nessa is an outsider from the mainland, who is searching for her family’s past. Demelza is an imaginative local who still believes in the island’s ancient legend (spurred on by her favourite video game). Together they explore the island on foot and on bikes, seeking the truth, searching for treasure, recruiting new gang members, and learning more about the adult world. The island might be under threat, but how will our heroes deal with it? By fighting like kids! Use your ingenuity to splash enemies with mud or swerve a Frisbee past their shields; hack video game hardware to use against them, or build a lance and surprise enemies with some bike-jousting! Knights and Bikes is a dream project for us. A combination of childhood memories, the power of imagination, and the wonderful gift that video games can be. While you can play it on your own and it’ll be a great experience, it’s also built for co-op play, so you can team up with a friend and explore the beautifully hand-painted world together. And this is why we think the game is perfect for PS4, as PlayStation has always been about bringing people together. And with SharePlay, you can even reunite with that childhood-friend who moved far, far away. We’re so excited to bring Knights and Bikes to PS4 and we hope you’ll ride along with us! Hi, I’m Kyle Duncan, Producer for the Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 team here at PopCap in Vancouver. One of our key development goals for Garden Warfare 2 was to allow players to immerse themselves in the world of Plants vs. Zombies like never before. We wanted players to experience what has happened since Dr. Zomboss turned the tide of the battle with the help of that pesky little Imp from the future and his mighty Z-Mech. We wanted everyone to not only see what’s happening at the front lines of the Battle for Suburbia in our Backyard, but also what the zombies are doing with areas they have managed to wrestle away from the plants — at least for now! The end result is that Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 is poised to be one of the craziest, most hilarious shooters out there. With the expansive Backyard Battleground, 14 classes, more than 100 playable characters, and a ton of awesome maps, this game is truly going to be bigger. Badder. Bigger. The maps in Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 received an incredible attention to detail, each sporting great gameplay mechanics, hidden secrets, and easter eggs. From the Great White North, to the time-travel craziness of Seeds of Time, straight to Moon Base Z and more, there’s no shortage of great 24-player environments. After all, where else can you battle an imp-piloted mech in the middle of a sand storm in ancient Egypt as a bounty hunting orange from the future? Check out the Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 site for even more, and be sure to pre-order for access to the Z7 Imp and Mech. View the full article

Gather your party and sharpen your blades, Sword Coast Legends is headed to PS4 this spring with a veritable treasure trove of additional content! Sword Coast Legends is a one-to-four-player RPG set in Dungeon & Dragons’ Forgotten Realms. In Sword Coast Legends, you play as a member of the Burning Dawn — a small adventurers’ guild that has recently fallen on hard times (we’re talking nightmares and murder). The good news is that you don’t have to adventure alone. In addition to the co-op experience, you’ll have the opportunity to gather a party of eclectic companions from all over Faerûn. From Hommet Shaw, the well-intentioned Necromancer, to Izhkin the self-proclaimed “Lord of the Dark,†there are a variety of memorable companions to bring on your journey when your real-life friends can’t make the trip. Fans of D&D (like myself) will recognize dozens of iconic creatures, spells, items, and locations plucked straight from the 5th edition core D&D books. As a lifelong fan of Dungeons & Dragons, it was incredible to see the fun stuff I’ve been reading about since I was a kid brought to life in Sword Coast Legends. I was happy to see that the team was working incredibly closely with Wizards of the Coast to deliver an isometric RPG worthy of the D&D name. After our launch on PC last October, we listened to a ton of player feedback and made numerous changes to Sword Coast Legends. I’m happy to announce that these changes will be included in the PS4 version of the game, free of charge. Some of these new features include additional skill trees (including Necromancy), hardcore options, playable drow sub-race, ability respec, new difficulty options, the addition of a player stash, and much, much more. The Sword Coast Legends community packs were an excellent addition to the PC version, and I’m elated that the new content is making its way to PS4. I have more good news! PS4 players that purchase Sword Coast Legends will also get our Rage of Demons DLC expansion for free when it’s released later this year. Rage of Demons contains an entirely new adventure for players to experience and features fan-favorite Ranger Drizzt Do’Urden and his 600 lb. astral panther Guenhwyvar. The Rage of Demons DLC will also add the highly requested Warlock class and Tiefling race to the game, as well as additional areas, weapons, armor sets, monsters, and bosses to battle. It’s quite a lot for the low price of… free. Sword Coast Legends will be coming to PS4 this spring for $19.99, which includes all post-launch PC content and the yet-to-be released Rage of Demons DLC. So grab your DualShock 4 and I’ll see you in Faerûn! View the full article

Hi everyone! This is Christian Schlütter, lead producer for Dungeons 2 at Kalypso Media. On behalf of Kalypso and the developers at Realmforge, I would like to take this opportunity to confirm that dungeon management simulation Dungeons 2 is coming to PS4! Keep reading to learn more about Dungeons 2 and what you can expect in the PS4 version. What It’s AboutDungeons 2 isn’t about being a nice guy. It’s about becoming a Dungeon Lord so evil that goodness quakes in its boots. The campaign begins with the Dungeon Lord cursed into a half-life between this world and the next and bonded to his throne. Luckily, one can’t keep evil down forever! With the ethereal “Hand of Terror,†you take direct control over your fledgling army of worker Snots as you begin to restore your evil dominance. Building out your dungeon, you will gain experience and gather gold, allowing you to enlist more and stronger creatures to do your bidding. Soon, your range of minions will expand to include beer-drinking Orcs, Goblin assassins, and boulder-throwing Trolls. Eventually you will send your army of destruction to the ready-to-be-conquered Overworld. This is where Dungeons 2 switches from dungeon management to traditional RTS gameplay. Managing dungeons while restoring evil across the land are two fulltime jobs, and a successful Dungeon Lord needs to find the perfect balance between underground dungeon management and aboveground RTS. The Dungeon Lord does have a lot of skills and utilities to ensure a proper working dungeon. Multiple types of rooms can be built to keep the gold and supplies flowing. Naga can mine mana to craft defensive and offensive spells, whereas Goblins are pretty crafty and can build brutal dungeon traps for when bold humans enter looking for gold and glory. Nothing says “keep out†like an exploding treasure chest to the face. What You Can ExpectAt its core, Dungeons 2 takes the best influences of the dungeon management genre and blends them together for the ultimate dungeon sim experience. Yet on top of that we decided to go beyond the dungeon and incorporate the Overworld, where you command your forces in RTS fashion. Both the RTS and the dungeon sim elements are happening in real time so a perfect Dungeon Lord must be skilled in balancing between expanding their dungeon and controlling their Overworld forces. It isn’t easy and it may take a few tries to find your rhythm, but once you do, you’ll enjoy the sweet, sweet taste of evil triumphing over good and the sight of the goody-good lands of the alliance switching from lush green fields to dark swamps of terror. And once you have recovered to full vicious strength by completing the extensive campaign, prepare to battle other Dungeon Lords in multiplayer! We can confirm here today on PlayStation.Blog that the PS4 version will be more than just the original game. Included on disc and in download, Dungeons 2 will come packed with DLC content. Right from the start, A Chance of Dragons, A Song of Sand and Fire, and A Clash of Pumpkins DLC content will be playable — as well as the Morningwood and Pixie Village maps, previously only available through pre-order editions. Each DLC pack adds three unique skirmish maps, adding tons of hours of gameplay to the PS4 version. All we can say is that the Dungeon Lord is pleased with this ultimate version of Dungeons 2 for PS4 and hopes that you will summon your inner evil when it launches on April 26th! Thanks! I’m Sonny Meek, co-founder, designer, and artist of Unicube Studios. Unicube is a small, two-man studio comprised of myself and my co-founder Dean. Dean and I are avid gamers, just like you, and I’m here today to tell you all about our debut game Sheltered! Before working on Sheltered, myself and Dean had done some stints at university and retail jobs, but now we’re actually making our game development dream come true. Since January 2015, we’ve been working out of Team17’s offices and they’ve been helping support us make Sheltered be the best possible game we imagined. So what is Sheltered? Well, at its core it’s a post-apocalyptic survival game with some pretty complicated mechanics that we believe bring it snugly into the roguelike arena. In Sheltered you’ll find some familiar mechanics: scavenging for supplies, crafting, building, and maintaining your shelter, but that’s where familiarity ends. Sheltered doesn’t focus on soul survivors, but an average family. Your family. You start the game with two adults, two children, and a trusty pet. How you customize your family is entirely in your hands — choose their appearance, sex, traits, and name them. It’s this that makes Sheltered stand out so prominently. The game has its hardships, and facing them as a family unit brings real emotional bonds and attachment, making every day decisions carry weight and difficulty. How will you cope when a child needs food, but doesn’t have any? Your dog, a loyal and trusty addition to the family is hungry — does he go without for the sake of the rest of the family? Does he… become the main food source himself? Everyday survival is the main goal in Sheltered, but venturing out is just as important as battening down the hatches. In the wasteland you can find like-minded survivors, or people who are just thirsty for havoc. People can break into your shelter, and you’ll really have to bring out your strategic A-Game, setting traps and creating panic rooms for your family members. At every corner in Sheltered there’s an opportunity to improve your situation, or bring it crashing down like a house of cards! Sheltered doesn’t pull any punches. If one of your family members dies then that’s it and you’ll have to find ways for the remaining members to cope. It’s game over when all family members die. How long will you be able to survive? Thanks for reading! We’re so looking forward to bringing Sheltered to PS4 and we cannot wait to see your own survival plans in action and hear how many days you’re able to survive for when the game launches in the coming months. Dust off your carrot rifle and polish your watermelon machinegun! Blast ‘Em Bunnies is coming to PS4 and PS Vita on March 8th! In Blast ‘Em Bunnies you are a cute, cartoon bunny called Bang Bang who must defend your rabbit burrow against an onslaught of evil bunnies. These bunnies have captured your offspring and one of them, the evil Throatslitter, is holding them hostage. Grab your carrot rifle, watermelon machine gun, turnip mortar, or runner bean laser and take them down! Spend those coins you shoot on new weapons, upgrades, and ammo including sticky raspberries, heat seeking chili seeds, shredding leek lasers, or bouncing, splitting, exploding pumpkin bombs! How long can you survive? This is our first HD console release and we’ve strived to craft a fun, friendly, and frenetic first-person shooter for the family. Simply pick up your controller and get blasting bunnies! We’ve been beavering away for a while now making Blast ‘Em Bunnies awesome for PlayStation owners by supporting cross buy, cross save, and optional motion controls allowing you to point and shoot. We are also currently experimenting with possible future PlayStation VR add on content. The game features four different weapons to purchase and upgrade and 16 different bullet types to combine with your chosen weapon for maximum tactical effect. By shooting coins you can save up to purchase weapons, upgrades, ammo, or health upgrades — allowing you to survive longer against the ferocious evil bunnies. Should you save up for the runner bean laser or go straight for new heat seeking parsnip ammo? Tough decisions abound! With more than 50 medals to be unlocked and missions which refresh either on completion or daily, you’ll always be faced with a challenge. If you’re looking for harder difficulties and modes you can take on Survival mode in Easy, Normal, Hard, and Very Hard (where you need to survive for as long as you can) or try out Slaughter mode in Normal, Super, or Ultra difficulties (where you must survive for 2 minutes with weaker weapons and health depending on difficulty). Each battle takes place in an arena with bunnies spawning to try to bring you down. Runners, Walkers, Burrowers, Grenadiers, Blockers, and Bosses all conspire to defeat you. While the Throatslitter macabrely tries to dispatch your young from a distance and the Golden Bunny evades your bullets lest you unleash Frenzy Mode. You can also customize your experience with purchasable add-on content from PlayStation Store. There are 5 new arena and matching skin packs which cover Ninjas, Zombies, Urban Army, Clowns, and Luchadores. Add on content can be purchased individually or in bundles with bundles giving a deeper discount on pricing. Be sure to check out PlayStation Store closer to release for all of the great additional content! The base game will be $4.99. We’re so excited to finally launch our first PS4 game and love all of the great graphical additions we brought to it. We’re eager to answer any questions you have about the game so just pop them in the comments and we’ll get right on it. Please Note: Some images above are taken from add-on content, which is sold separately. View the full article

We live in an exciting time. And no, not just because we all now live in a world where you can turn on your PlayStation 4 and download Firewatch, the debut game from our studio Campo Santo. And no, for the nine of you who are my co-workers and reading this, not because you now get to come down off of the manic launch high you’ve been riding and return to regular sleep patterns. No, I’m referring to the fact that we all now live in a world where less than a dozen folks can get together, download a game engine and put a couple years into making a game that you’re playing on a PlayStation. That’s crazy! That’s mental! This was not true like, jeez, *five minutes ago.* If you buy and play Firewatch and enjoy it, you live in a world where there are more and more original, surprising and risky games that get to exist on a major platform that didn’t have to be pitched, packaged and homogenized before finding their way to you. And these games, games like The Witness, The Talos Principle and Transistor, are made by just a handful of people who now, because we live in the aforementioned bonkers time, have direct access to you. Maybe you can’t even tell. Perhaps it just seems like wow, there’s just more great games. But for us, it’s everything. We can live and die by our own successes and put our games right next to the huge stuff. In fact, we hope you can’t tell — we hope a game is a game and is a game and we’re the one you choose to entertain you for a while. Firewatch is out now for $19.99, and we’ve made an ultra-premium Firewatch PS4 theme as well. It’s $3.49. (You can also get them bundled together for $21.99!) We hope you enjoy the game and if you do (or don’t, what the heck) let us know in the comments, come tell us on twitter or pop on over to our dev blog to see how we’ve gone about this crazy two year journey! PSBlog Feed: Screencheat Launches March 1st on PS4
Commander Fury posted a topic in Playstation Blog
Hi everyone! I’m Nicholas McDonnell from Samurai Punk and I’d just like to say thanks to everyone who came by and checked out the PS4 version of Screencheat at PAX Prime and PlayStation Experience. It was great to meet everyone! We’re also excited to announce that Screencheat will be coming to PS4 on March 1st. If you haven’t heard of Screencheat yet, it’s a split-screen first-person shooter that centers around the conceit of screen cheating/peeping/looking (looking at the screens of other players to locate their position). In Screencheat all players are invisible, turning this controversial tactic into the core mechanic of the game. Although the initial version of the game launched on PC, the PS4 version of Screencheat will launch with all the work we’ve done over the past year to build on the core experience and make it the best local/online multiplayer game for you and your friends. This includes all the new maps, weapons, modes, mutators, and granular customization options, eight-player support and solo training challenges. The most recent additions to the game’s roster of features include AI bots which can join you in games locally and online. Along with a new map Museum II. Evoking the feel of the first map, Museum, it takes what was great for new players but extends its tactical depth for experts. You will be able to play all of this with up to four players locally on the couch, or up to eight with a mix of couch and online players via either matchmaking or private games. Additionally part of our work has been adding a wide range of languages including English, French, German, Russian, Dutch, and Portuguese. We’ve also just partnered with H2 and Playism to localize the game into Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean — and bring the game to Sony Asia and Japan regions around the same time as Europe and America. We can’t wait to get Screencheat out to everyone in March so lock in the date, grab your friends, and get ready for a party. Much Love, Samurai Punk <3 View the full article -
Grab your walkin’ stick and your favorite talking animal friend because Shiren The Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate is headed to PS Vita on July 26th. Are you a daydreamer? Do you often find your mind wandering through fantastical realms, searching for arcane artifacts and shiny loot all while slaying crafty monsters and creatures? I know I do — at least three times a day. That’s why I’m very excited to reveal that Shiren The Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate will land exclusively on PS Vita this year. For those unfamiliar with the series, players assume the role of Shiren, a seasoned wanderer, whose most trusted companion happens to be a talking weasel named Koppa. If fact, here to give us the lowdown on what to expect in this latest installment are none other than Shiren and his trusty sidekick Koppa! However, seeing as how Shiren wanders the lands as a silent protagonist, Koppa has helped fill us in on the nitty gritty of their latest adventure. As Koppa tells it, The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate is an enhanced and expanded update of Shiren The Wanderer 5, which was previously available only in Japan. Part of the longstanding Mystery Dungeon series, TTOFATDOF (as it is so eloquently abbreviated) looks to continue the tradition of rogue-like RPGs by offering players a gaggle of dungeons and monsters to conquer. The “rogue-like†genre is somewhat notorious for its challenging gameplay mechanics, but to prospective wanderers I say fear not! Grab a friend and traverse goodie-filled dungeons together with co-op mode! Once you’ve pillaged your fill as a dynamic duo, you can challenge each other in battle mode for glory and bragging rights. Fallen and can’t get up? Send out a rescue request and have your closest friend revive you on the spot! Seriously, questing for loot in dangerous domains has never been easier. Until next time, noble wanderers! View the full article

You drop into a high-intensity, arena-style grudge match. You activate your inner beast mode, gear up fast, throw together a game plan, and jump into the fray, ready to see if you have what it takes to be the last man standing. Whether you’re racking up a kill streak or just adding to the chaos, you’re ready to spill blood. After all, dying is for losers. Welcome to H1Z1: King of the Kill, coming to PS4 this Summer. King of the Kill started out as a special game mode inside of the original H1Z1 (an open-word zombie survival game), but as we watched the popularity of the mode grow and grow, we knew it was best for the players to give these games dedicated resources so they could develop and flourish on their own merits. King of the Kill is being developed as a fast-paced shooter that will be comprised of multiple fight-to-the-death game modes, including Battle Royale. Players will compete in large-scale chaotic PvP spectacles of skill, wit, and a little luck, where everyone must fight to the death to stand alone at the top of the podium. Will you be the type to hide among the berry bushes, letting most of the crowd thin themselves out before you join the ruckus? Or are you going to dive in, guns blazing, adding kills faster than you can count? Which weapons will you grab first, and what other supplies will help take you to victory? King of the Kill game modes are all about scavenging and strategy (and, yes, a little bit of luck and a whole lot of crazy). King of the Kill also lends itself well to competitive play, as we saw in 2015 with our TwitchCon Invitational and in-house Showdown event. We look forward to bringing you this fast-paced, large-scale, chaotic spectacle on PlayStation 4 later this year! View the full article
