Story by Brian Crecente @ Kotaku.com. Clan-Batman-versus-clan-Joker shooter Gotham City Impostors looks like it’s going to be about $15 or 1,200 Microsoft Points when it hits, according to the game’s official YouTube account. GothamCityImpostors, the person running the official YouTube account for the upcoming game, wrote in comments on their latest video” “As far as pricing is concerned, the current plan is for the game to be $14.99 or 1200 MS points.” Of course that’s not confirmed yet, but it sounds like it’s getting close. We’re also hearing that Beta testers are starting to receive email invites for the game. The beta will run nightly from 7 p.m. to midnight EST starting on Oct. 5 and ending on Oct. 9. Fingers crossed and eyes open. Or maybe the other way round. Thanks for the beta tips and to Chodiac about the pricing heads up. Score: 0 (0 votes cast) More...

A new game has ‘Burst’ onto the Andriod market, Add-A-Tudez and Team Kaizen announced on the 16th September 2011 that their first stand alone game Burst! is now available in Beta form but will include all future updates automatically. For those who may not have seen it yet, Burst! is a game of music, fireworks and timing. The object is to prime your fireworks and make sure they are fired in time to the music to create your very own display. This is a game of course and as such is not as easy as it may appear. The timing as you can imagine is crucial, at the beat of the music, there is an optimum area when you have to fire your fireworks. If you miss too many of these you will fail, this instantly makes Burst! very addictive and pretty soon you’ll be wondering where the time has gone. Burst! was initially launched with two songs; Bad Battery Door Burst Remix by M-79 and Haya’s Theme by John Secolo. Other songs will follow including Velvet Electricity by DJ Bonseye and works by Steve Keller Band, Joel Corda, The Hope Movement, Ed Worrell and Great Falls Symphony. The games graphics are very colourful the game has the backdrop of Great Falls 10th Street Bridge whose restoration project will receive 1% of the profit from this game. The controls are also very easy and responsive, if you have an Xperia Play you can use the D-Pad or if not you can use the touch screen controls. The game is available from the Android Market, but first you will need to install Adobe AIR as this game makes use of its features, follow the link here: Adobe AIR Next you will need to download the beta version of Burst! a link of which is here: Burst! Once all is downloaded, you will be able to access video tutorials and guides to help you master the controls. That said, this is very easy to pick up and play and soon you’ll be in the swing of it. The people at Team Kaizen welcome feedback and in fact they are encouraging it and as Burst! is still in beta, it’s a good opportunity to help them with any bugs or fixes, you can find them at www.teamkaizengames.com as well as a new forum that is being set up to make it easier to contact them and give them your thoughts. Earlier this week, I was treated to a new demo of the rapidly approaching military shooter <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/battlefield-3/">Battlefield 3</a>, which promises to raise Battlefield’s sprawling formula to soaring new heights. After watching a 10-minute demo of the game’s campaign running on PS3, I secured a few minutes with DICE Producer Patrick Liu to address some questions from PlayStation community members...plus a few of my own! Are you playing the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/09/29/welcome-to-the-battlefield-3-open-beta-now-available-on-psn/">Battlefield 3 Open Beta on PSN</a>? Share your thoughts (and winning strategies!) in the comments below. For more information on the Battlefield 3 beta, or to report bugs, please check out the official <a href="http://www.battlefield.com/battlefield3/1/beta">Battlefield 3 Beta FAQ</a>. <BLOCKQUOTE> <strong>PlayStation Blog:</strong> There are a lot of military shooters these days. What’s the biggest thing Battlefield 3 is bringing to the table? <strong>Patrick Liu:</strong> It’s a number of things. For a very long time, the core pillars of Battlefield have been the destruction, the sandbox experience, the scale, and the vehicle gameplay. Those are all still pretty unique to Battlefield, I’d say. My first Battlefield game was Bad Company. </blockquote> More...

Story by: CritiKiL First-off, I’d like to say that I hope everyone is enjoying the Battlefied: 3 Beta. I acquired it just yesterday and it seems like it’s going to be a really great game. But whats going to make this an even ‘greater’ game is definitely going to be, the BattleLog! The game Drops on 10/25/2011 for the PC, PS3 and of course XBox 360, and I strongly suggest that you fork-up the money for all that you’ll be getting!*Here are just a Few of the things that is going to make this upcoming game, spectacular: COM CENTER ~ Your friends list lives at the bottom of the page in the Com Center.*There you can join their game and chat with them. FRIENDS ACTIVITY FEED ~*Get instant reports when your friends*unlock new weapons,*get new awards or make plans for tonight’s game. FINDING THE RIGHT SERVER ~*Select your favorite game modes, maps, and map sizes with the browser filter.*Click a server you’d like to join alone or with friends. INVITE YOUR FRIENDS ~*Drag your friends from the Com Center to a Drop Zone and they will get an invite to join. KEEPING UP TO DATE ~*Game updates are automatically pushed to you.*Use the Game Manager (‘bottom-menubar’ of BattleLog), to start the update process. SHOW WHO YOU ARE ~*Your Profile is where other people come to see you.*Your Soldiers, Stats, Favorite servers and your own*personal Battle feed.* NEVER PLAY ALONE ~*Join a platoon or create your own. One more interesting point I’d like to make (not making any comparisons here!), but it’s interesting that with all we are getting with BattleLog, it’s FREE…and COD Elite is Charged (hmmmm ~ lol!) But if you want to get a True Comparison, check out this ‘Comparison Link’ below. There is no difference as they are both ‘comparisons’ to a video game: http://goo.gl/uwAcs Now, to Access the BattleLog, just click this link below: http://battlelog.battlefield.com DON’T FORGET TO WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW. It give’s an ‘in-depth’ look at the features and functionality of the free social platform Battlelog. Battlelog will change the way you play, track your stats, and interact with your friends in Battlefield 3. Score: 0 (0 votes cast) More...

Sony Online Entertainment is really making its mark on <a href="http://us.playstation.com/psn/">PSN</a> this fall. Rolling out alongside the excellent <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/rochard/">Rochard</a> and the highly-anticipated <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/payday-the-heist/">PAYDAY: The Heist</a>, <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/sideway/">Sideway: New York</a> brings an impressive visual flourish to 2D platformers. Painted protagonist Nox keeps switching planes in 3D as he hugs the walls and jumps from building to building. Take a look at the trailer. At last week’s <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/fantastic-fest/">Fantastic Fest in Austin</a>, I caught up with Scott Simpson, director of Canadian developing studio <a href="http://www.playbrains.com/">Playbrains</a> (and blog comment-reply record holder with a 100% reply rate!). While he’s answered most of the questions out there, Sideway still holds few more details yet to be revealed, including bite-sized, intra-level time trials to earn collectables and “birds that poop bombs.†I recorded our conversation as we played through some of the game’s early levels. What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the words “Chrono Trigger?†I’m sure a lot of things, but I bet the first thing on your mind right now is “When can I get it?†We’re happy to confirm that Chrono Trigger is coming to the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/category/psn/">PSN</a> in North America on October 4th. That’s right—in just a few days, you’ll be able to visit (or re-visit, as I’m sure is the case for many of you) one of the most hilarious and unique casts of characters ever assembled in an RPG: <blockquote> <strong>Crono:</strong> The spiky-haired, stoic protagonist who finds himself wrapped up in events beyond his control. He’s pretty good with a katana and doesn’t run from a fight. <strong>Marle:</strong> The requisite princess, but she’s no ordinary princess. How many princesses do you know that wield a crossbow? <strong>Lucca:</strong> Chrono’s best friend since they were little kids. Oh, and she’s a supergenius who invents things such as the teleporter that starts your journey through time. </blockquote> More...

Recently, we’ve released videos showing off the different elements of the game, including a particularly epic spot focused on the light-eating Z’Grute boss that our heroes (and villain) must battle in the city of Luminopolis. This latest video we want to share takes place on the Aldaros Plains, one of the first areas you’ll explore on Planet Magnus. This is an area of the planet where the rules of gravity seem to be bent, and floating islands of rock make up the shifting landscape. The boss here is a gigantic creature called an Octomoth. If the name doesn’t give you an immediate idea of what this fearsome creature would be like, watch the video above! More...

We’ve featured <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/retrograde/'>http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/retrograde/">Retro/Grade</a> several times on the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/">PlayStation.Blog</a> over the past couple of years. And so, we know a lot about it: it’s a shooter, controlled with a guitar controller, in reverse. But before <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/fantastic-fest/">Fantastic Fest 2011</a>, I had never seen someone actually play the thing. As a pretty experienced Rock Band-er, I thought I’d be able to jump in and kick some ass, but the reality is, my gaming brain had never been taxed in quite this way. So we set up a camera for 24 Caret Games’ Matt Gilgenbach, clad in a hard hat, to show you how the game actually plays. He actually beats the game in the first 30 seconds, but that’s not an accident... More...

Rochard on PSN Today – More Action, Less Gravity
Commander Fury posted a topic in Playstation Blog
Ever run into a person annoying enough to make you want to launch a two-ton cargo container in their face? Well, it turns out the future is crawling with these guys. And plenty of containers to boot! If you happen to be an astro miner, this means you have a good reason to rev up your trusty G-Lifter for some serious action, now that <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/rochard/">Rochard</a> appears today on <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/category/psn/">PSN</a>! So what is a lone astro miner to do against an invading force of Wild Boy thugs? Well, the two-ton cargo containers are just a start. The intruders find themselves on a mined out asteroid, aka home turf, filled with giant machines built to crush, cut and smash things. And then there’s your G-Lifter, which is able to casually grab objects the size of a small car and hurl them across the room. Nifty little upgrades also allow it to fire off deadly lasers and a variety of highly explosive grenade rounds. Add all this to your ability to thrash around gravity with the press of a button, and you can look forward to putting these Wild Boys in a whole new extra-terrestrial world of hurt! More... -

Story by Mike Fahey @ Kotaku.com. As promised last week, EA delivers the full version of its “99 Problems” Battlefield 3 TV spot today, unveiling never-before-seen gameplay footage and a new tagline aimed right between Modern Warfare 3‘s eyes. At this point we’ve accepted that Battlefield 3 looks gorgeous, so we’ll not harp on the visuals. Instead, let’s turn our attention to the new tagline at the end of this TV spot. It reads “Above and Beyond the Call”, an obvious dig at Call of Duty, the Activision franchise EA hopes to unseat as king of the military online first-person shooters. How should Call of Duty fans react? I’d suggest measured, focused rage. Don’t fly off the handle; stay firmly planted on the handle and toss your vicious retorts with military precision. As for Activision, I’m hoping the company reveals the new tagline for Modern Warfare 3 to be “Fuck Battlefield in Its Stupid Ass”, which is probably why I’m not in marketing.
