3. All week long, I've had this strange tension in my shoulders. I was hunched up, and was even having trouble sleeping. As Comic-Con came to a close, I couldn't figured out the source of my weird aches, until I finally realized: it's EVO time. EVO is the World Series of Fighting Games, and it's this weekend, July 29th through the 31st, in Las Vegas. EVO has been running for over a decade, and has grown from a small gathering of friends into the biggest fighting-game event on the planet, with thousands of competitors and fans attending from dozens of countries (46 countries are represented this year!). The best of the best come not only to win prizes, but to claim a place in fighting game history, to earn a name, and to test themselves at the highest levels. More...

9. Formally announced at PlayStation’s E3 2011 press conference, the upcoming PlayStation Move Pack for LittleBigPlanet 2 will greatly expand the game’s already prodigious creation suite and add countless new gameplay variants. Based on my hands-on time, PlayStation Move support radically evolves the gameplay possibilities of LittleBigPlanet 2, whether it’s flinging and manipulating objects using the new Brain Crane power-up, creating outlandish Move-focused minigames from scratch, or animating characters and props by recording your PlayStation Move gestures. “It’s the biggest update we’ve ever done,†Media Molecule’s Level Design Lead Kengo Kurimoto told me during a guided tour of the update last week in New York City. 16. Story by: CritiKiL The first thing I’d like to point out about this game is that, ‘No one is Safe‘: New Destruction engine allows you to blow holes in the walls where people will be hiding. As Commentors Sian Welby & Matt Cuttle*(from Stockholm, Sweden) explain, The Frostbite 2 Dynamic Engine*Animation System allows gameplay such as you’ve never seen ‘or heard’ before! (NOTE: Incidentally, the upcoming game ‘NFS: The Run’ encorporates this same engine!). Prepare to be amazed and drawn into realistic gameplay such as you’ve never experience at this level of Awesomeness. The video below shows Exclusive access to the heart of DICE, allowing us to check under the hood of Battlefield 3 by watching this special video and have a look at the brand new engine – Frostbite 2: Revisit an old favourite from Battlefield 2 — Strike at Karkand and more with Niklas Fegreaus, Lead Designer on Back to Karkand and David Spinnier, one of the original map designers on Battlefield 2 as they talk to us about those maps and how they will evolve in Battlefield 3. Lock and Load with Lead Weapons Designer, Alan Kertz as he discusses the Physical Warfare Pack and his weapon of choice. Lars Gustavsson, Creative Director takes us through the evolution of Battlefield from the original concept drawings for Battlefield 1942 all the way to the upcoming Battlefield 3. The key Pillars (or strengths) of this New Frostbite 2 Engine totally re-design how we see, hear and experience gameplay…from the ground up. It changes how we visualize, hear, experience and control the game! There are 5 basic principles which were focused on, in the re-animation of gameplay experience and they are: ANIMATION ~ a new level of FPS realism… DESTRUCTION ~ annihilate buildings, deminish cover… AUDIO ~ award-winning immersion and atmosphere… SCALE ~ huge detailed landscapes, dense urban areas… RENDERING ~ cinematic image quality, lighting and effects…. 17. Story by: CritiKiL The First video trailer was named ‘Death from Above‘, you find yourself battling to be in first place through the streets of Chicago. In this next video, you’ll get a taste of the different environments from San Francsico to New York. Even the music in this latest trailer gets my attention of the thrill of racing in trying to be #One! As ‘The Run’ streaks through the hills of Nevada, you find yourself at the heart of the pack. Battling with the unforgiving desert heat and technically demanding terrain, you must do everything you can to fight your way to the front. In the mist of all the action, superior graphics display of the environments as well as the fun of the game, nothing comes to your mind more than for you to remember to: FROM SAN FRANCISCO TO NEW YORK! 19. Story by Devils Own @ GamersMint.com. Despite the game’s lackluster reception, Gearbox Software has decided to continue supporting Duke Nukem Forever and has drawn the curtains on the first piece of DLC. The Hail to the Icons Parody Pack brings to the table, four new multiplayer maps and a trio of interesting takes on some of the popular modes of today’s shooters. More details on the maps were detailed on the game’s official forum: Call of Duke – Duke engages in modern combat in a war-torn city. Foes don’t stand a chance against the Duke when he spams the map with the N00b T00b. Sandpit – Players take the role of mini-Duke in a giant sandbox with two bases at either end made out of children’s toys. This map features Sticky Bombs. Inferno – Time machine engage! Duke does combat in a hellish landscape of lava and teleporters. Who turned on the 16-bit graphics, and more importantly, where did this DFG come from? 2Forts1Bridge – Hats? Duke doesn’t need no stinking hats. Give him a minigun and he’ll beat off all comers. And about the new game modes: As the title suggest, players will find themselves joining hands to freeze and shatter their opponents for point streaks and combos in Freeze Tag. The one who holds on the girl for the longest time in Hot Potato takes home the prize. And finally, Hail to the King is your typical free-for-all. The DLC pack is scheduled to arrive sometime in Autumn. Pricing has yet to be announced. However, first access club members will receive the DLC for absolutely free. Score: 0 (0 votes cast) More...

24. Story by Jamie Donnelly @ Gamersmint.com. Activision has announced that Prototype 2 will be releasing on the 24th of April 2012. No EU release date was given, but it will probably be the standard three days later. A new trailer of the game has also been released, via GameTrailers, and it shows Prototype 2 protagonist Sgt. James Heller taking on Alex Mercer who fans will know from the first game. The trailer doesn’t show any gameplay, but it’s still pretty exciting. Check it out below: Score: 0 (0 votes cast) More...
25. Story by Alexander Sliwinski @ Joystiq.com. The launch date for PS3′s Splinter Cell Trilogy appears to have shifted once again, this time to September. Ubisoft told us in May that it didn’t have a ship date for the title, but several major retailers listed an August launch at the time. The bundle had previously missed its appointed March and June launch dates. The latest release date of September 27 is now listed by the retail trinity of Amazon, GameStop and GameFly (which conveys only publisher-provided intel). We’ve contacted Ubisoft for an official sitrep on the Sam Fisher HD bundle. Score: 0 (0 votes cast) More...
