IRISH BULL Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 I just recently received the disc that makes it possible to view Netflix on my PS3. I was thinking of starting a subscription based on my Redbox usage. In March, I spent $6 on movies rentals, and $8 in April. But I want to know how the movie selection is before I commit to another monthly service with a fee. I have enough already, lol. But if it saves me money then its worth it. Keep in mind I have a 3 1/2 yoa daughter, so it would be mostly used for her. Occasionally for my wife and myself. I checked the website and it only shows like 21 movies for kids and new releases. Is that it? Quote
BIGDANIEL Posted May 8, 2010 Report Posted May 8, 2010 I use mine quite a bit. I enjoy the ease of being able to watch the movies on my TV vs my laptop. Netflix has added a lot of new movies to the Instant Play list. And now they have a Starz list of select recent films (I just saw this on their site tonight and haven't checked to see if its available using the disc yet). IMO Netflix is the best way to go. I'm a movie watcher though. I can have three at any one time and its nothing for me to watch 6 movies in a week (not including the TV series I watch instantly on my PS3). Quote
Neoblackhound Posted May 8, 2010 Report Posted May 8, 2010 Not all movies are instant but a ton of them are I love mine. Quote
IRISH BULL Posted May 8, 2010 Author Report Posted May 8, 2010 OK, thanks guys. I signed up for the two week trial period and checked it out tonight. I seen that there are more movies for instant streaming than I originally thought, which is good. I wish they had more of the newer movies to stream, but there is still a lot to choose from. Questions: When you have an actual DVD rented out, can you still stream movies at the same time? -OR- When you have an actual DVD rented out, you can't stream until its returned? Quote

IRISH BULL Posted May 8, 2010 Author Report Posted May 8, 2010 Cool, that makes a huge difference then. Quote
IRISH BULL Posted May 10, 2010 Author Report Posted May 10, 2010 Another question. It seems that there are more -or- different movies available online instant stream as opposed to the instant stream on the PS3. Is that correct, or am I missing something on the PS3? Also, is there anyway to search for a title or actor on the PS3 like you can on your PC? Quote
BIGDANIEL Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 Log in to Netflix on your PC, find a movie you want to watch instantly, and add it to your Instant Que. When you log in on your PS3 you'll see it there. Quote
Johnson30 Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 The Netflix for the PS3 kinda stinks, hard to maneuver to find stuff. I use netflix on the Wii, IMO is the best of the 3 systems to watch Netflix on. Quote
[BOUr]thunder_fist Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 Browsing Netflix on your ps3 blows, but just do what BigD said and everything works fine. I live in MT and still get next day service on the DVDs. It's well worth the $8 a month. Quote
