Urgent Fury....

 

I am apologizing for the way I have been behaving lately. I have responded inappropriately to your expressions of genuine care and concern. I am very sorry if I hurt your feelings. The last thing I want to do is to upset you in any way. By no means will I try to justify my inappropriate behavior to you, however, I would like to explain why I reacted the way I did. Hopefully, it will give you an insight as to where I was coming from.

 

As far back as I can remember, I’ve always been left on my own to sort out my own problems. This has become a way of life for me. Never before, have I been shown by another person such genuine compassion as you showed me. I understand that you were sincere in offering your care and concern for me and my clans situation, and you genuinely wanted to help. Instead of simply being grateful and graciously and accepting it as gesture of kindness, I nervously laughed it off, not really knowing quite how to handle it. It’s just that your mannerism was so unfamiliar to me. That was wrong, and I feel badly about it.

 

Thank you, Urgent Fury, for being who you are, and for showing me how wonderful people really can be towards each other. You have given me a life lesson that I will hold on to tightly; a renewed belief in my fellow human being. I am sorry that I had to have my eyes opened to this revelation at the expense of your feelings. Please accept my apologies for this.

 

I am so thankful to be apart of this community.

I think that its hard to get used to forums & realizing that emotion comes out wrong VERY often on forums.

Sarcasm, Kidding, Busting Balls, & True Honesty can all be hard to catch on a forum.

 

Maybe try to "preview" your posts & make adjustment where you think you may be pushing the limit, or where you think people might not "get" what you're saying, before you post. (thats what i do, i usually preview/edit at least 3 times before i actually hit post .lol)

You right Chili, but for the longest time I felt like I was walking on egg shells, but after sometime that went away because I have been playing with many different UF clans in public rooms and they all have made jokes about the TV and me winning POW, so I was like ahh hell, there's no problems, but as soon as I make a JOKE about it, I am labeled WRONG and looked at as if I am some douche bag who is gloating about my win when it's NOT even like that. I guess I just won't say a damn thing about me winning POW anymore :-X unless it's with the MANY people and clans I have been playing with and not people who don't know me at all besides what they see on the forums :-\\

Even though people take comments in a different way than others do, one thing a person should not do is change who they are to cater to a group of people on a forum. If you don't agree with Junk's comments, simply put it as: "Junk don't brag so much" or "Junk your terrible at Socom" ( ;D) or forever hold your peace.

Ya know Junk, no matter how hard you try, you can't please everyone.  I've not played with JyK EVER and all I know about you all is from PoW and the forum here.  Because your rough start was most everyone's first impressions of JyK it seems that some cannot move forward from there.  In the beginning, I too was concerned about the kind of people who comprise JyK, but to me, you all have tried really hard to fit in around here.  Unfortunately those who "don't know you" take your joking the wrong way.  I don't know you either, so I don't take your joking any way, cause it's nothing to me.

 

My advice to you ... be who you are and if someone responds negatively to something that you post, don't worry about it.  Don't give merit to those kinds of things with a response.  I know your natural reaction is to defend yourself but one person's reaction and subsequent post doesn't mean that we all feel that way.  Those who do know you will know that you are only kidding around.  Most of those who don't know you won't really care one way or another.  And for everyone else, most likely nothing you do will ever change how they feel so don't waste your energy.

You're right Chili.  I preach that to my guys all the time.  

 

PUNCTUATION is the key.  Even the little emoticons shown above help.

 

In a world where the written word makes up more than 95% of our communication, its important, in some cases its imperative, that we use correct punctuation.  A comma alone can cause a sentence to be read two different ways.  

 

If, as Chili stated, you preview and edit your posts prior to posting them, you'll be able to find areas, if the post has the potential to be taken multiple ways, where you can place a smiley face or two.

 

Always remember that when someone reads your post they are reading your words and not your facial expressions.  We need your help in knowing how you felt when you wrote it.
