But seriously, you've let a balloon go without tieing the end? Now imagine more air because of the coke reacting with the Mentos, and the rigid structure of the bottle directing the out gassing instead of it just fluttering like the balloon.

I didn't know coke and mentos undergoes a chemical reaction that produces that much gas. Awesome.

The video link is dead now but I've seen these things first hand. You could really blast those things off. I was shocked the first time I seen it. I had no idea it would do something like that.
