CRAZIEST and MOST EXCITING playoff series I've seen in my life.

Goals, big saves, and then the sickening play of Darcy Tucker that scum bag...

Both Michael Peca and Kenny Jonsson both were cheap shotted in the series and we lost because of it. Our captain and best defender. For that...I hate the leafs.

 

As far as the leafs playoff chances, it'll be tough with only a few more games to go. I guess it was a good thing Sundin rejected any deal involving him(NTC). I kinda hope you guys make the playoffs. There was a rumor about a trade at the deadline that could be revived at the NHL Draft on June 20th.

Rumor was: Defensemen Bryan McCabe(5.75M) and Leafs 1st round pick to NY Islanders for 1 of our young defenders, chris campoli or bruno gervais and a 2nd OR 3rd round pick.

 

Just a rumor, but I hear Tortono is desperate to move one of their players overpaid players with a no trade clause. Hell, even jason blake back to NYI will probably surface in the summer.

Ok this is what i gotta say bout this

 

Ovechkin is a great individual player...he takes a shit load of shots and he is rewarded with goals...he can play a great physical game...he doesn't back down...he'll get straight in your face...also he has a great mental game...he can get into so many players head and screw with them...which is the reason i personally think he is better than Crosby.

 

now with Crosby...yes he has missed a lot of games so that plays into affect in this debate of whose better...Crosby can score goals when their team needs it...also the reason i don't think he is better because he has a great line with him, they know how to score as well....also i chose Ovechkin because of the fact that Crosby has a better line....we haven't seen Crosby at his full potential and what havoc he can truly cause.

Exactly, which points back to what I said earlier, he can make players around him better, Ovechkin doesn't.

It's not Ovechkin's job to make people around him better. He's a winger, he scores and he has high assist totals so to say he doesn't distribute to his linemates or doesn't make his players around him better is insane. He's the best scoring wing in the game. PERIOD. They are supposed to feed him the puck and he's supposed to score, he does it, thats it!

 

Crosby's job is play the center position. Distribute to his wingers, do his own scoring, and play somewhat of a defenseive game. And he does all that.

 

 

And as far as the "injury" comment, get a clue! JASON BLAKE HAS CANCER! A treatable form of cancer, he says it doesnt affect him, but it DEFINATELY DOES. He's not the same player that I watched the past 5 years on the island.

If you asked who was a better goal scorer then I'd say Ovechkin hands down, but for all around and overall hockey player I think it's Crosby hands down.

All because Crosby has missed 28 games this year. Come on. Malkin is good and maybe does merit being discussed in a Malkin vs Ovechkin debate. However, I totally disagree with you that Ovechkin would be able to do the same things Crosby does or even has the same skill set Crosby does to merit him playing center. Don't you think the Caps would have put him there if he could make the two wingers on his side excel more ? This will all flesh itself out in the years to come. Ovechkins ability to score and flare he brings to the game doesn't do enough to out weight the ability and skill Crosby has that allows him to do so many more things better than Ovechkin.

Dude, it's obviously not just me. Crosby is the face of hockey because he is the best hockey player in the world. It's not just a little penguins fan that is saying that. Two years ago, last year, everyone was saying the same thing. Ovechkins scoring like crazy this year and all of a sudden he's a better player. It it my opinion, but I think millions more agree with it.

Dude, your out of your mind if you think he's stronger on the boards and has better puck control. Absolutely crazy! And this is probably where our biggest difference between the two players lies because I give Ovechkin the plus when it comes to shooting, scoring, and being more physical ... maybe even skating but I think they are a wash there. But, puck control, along the boards, faceoffs, vision, passing all goes to Crosby and I think it's by a far margin on most of those. If you give Crosby the Dangle factor how can you not include puck control ? His puck control ability is 2nd only to his vision and passing ability.

 

I have nothing against Ovechkin he's a great player and when the Caps are on I watch the games so I can see him play, he's unreal. So I'm not totally blinded just because I'm a Penguins and Crosby fan.
