RawTaLenT-- Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3638098 First time I ever seen a team suspend someone for that many games for breaching a contract lol Quote
GeneralWar Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 wat kind of dumb shit is that Quote
Guest [+30]PuddyTat Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 here in lies the problem with multi-million dollar contracts: you want a guarantee on your investment. so in the contract, there are a lot of clauses stating what you can and cannot do away from the game. you do not want your 30 million dollar man to get hurt and miss games because he had an accident skiing, or in this case, riding a moped(?). BUT...you cannot hold a player back too much, or they will get unhappy and find a new team that allows them to have a life outside of the game. so waddya doo?? Quote
BigMoneyNacku Posted October 12, 2008 Report Staff Posted October 12, 2008 The funny part is, they put those clauses in so said player doesn't hurt the TEAM. Suspending the guy 30 games is hurting the TEAM. They should have just fined him the 3 mil and moved on. :-\ Quote
Bandit99 Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Actually in this case it helps the team with the suspension. He will be out anyway with the injury, so they are saving payroll while he is out. Quote
BigMoneyNacku Posted October 12, 2008 Report Staff Posted October 12, 2008 He's gonna e out 30 for a sprained ankle? Sheesh. Apparently B-ball players aren't as tough as they used to be. Quote
GeneralWar Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 He's still a young player and he'll get better, he's a good player Quote
