Good to hear, I know exactly how you were feeling. All of a sudden my 40gig stopped playing discs and I was actually going to have to do something other than play games at night. I've been watching alot of TV lately. It's expected return is on Tuesday. I can't wait.

I've been in it too. I love the shotgun, one shot/one kill. Hopefully they won't screw it up too much. ;D

That sucks, hopefully it just got too hot. My PS3 is on the way back to me. The disc player was shot.

Finally! After years of waiting, looks like Home is finally to release to the masses. Version 1.00 of the Home client has been released to beta testers. The new Home moves from the "Game" section of the XMB to the more appropriate "PlayStation Network" area. A slew of changes have hit Home in its 1.00 update. The virtual PSP has disappeared, replaced with an easier-to-use Menu Pad (pictured). Various areas of Home have been renamed. An Online Manual and Tutorial have been added, to make it easier to understand the numerous features of Home. Players will now be able to background download new Home areas -- it was a big hassle having to wait for a few minutes before loading each new area. One of the big features of 1.00 is the Clubs system. This feature allows players to create clubhouses, where up to 32 players can meet. Although this feature is free to beta testers, it will be a paid service when Home rolls out to the public. The new 1.00 beta looks like a significant improvement over previous versions of the service. Now, we're going to wait for Sony to officially release the service to the entire PlayStation Network community. Update: The PlayStation Closed Beta site says clubs will be a for-pay service. "Club is a service that requires regular payment. During Closed Beta test users can enjoy this service free of charge." However, a Sony developer clarifies saying "Clubs do not cost money. There will be premium club houses."

I just finished a sig using an online tutorial. Seeing as I'm such a noob compared to most of the guys here, but I like the way it came out. I think it's not too bad for my first try using Photoshop.

Sony's VP of Sales, Ian Jackson, confirmed to Joystiq that the PS3 keypad will make its way to retail in the beginning of December. The attachment connects to the top of the PS3 controller, giving users easy access to a very tiny keyboard. Unfortunately, amazon.com's listing of the device still shows a $50 price tag -- a price point which only 2% of you agreed with.

Have you ever wanted to see Republican darling Sarah Palin grab a bazooka and shoot down a moose a tank? Do you wonder if Socialist Democrat Obama is capable of taking on terrorists ... with his bare hands? Well, EA and Pandemic are letting you live out your wildest political dreams. Both Palin and Obama will be available as DLC characters for Mercenaries 2. Unlike Saints Row 2, Pandemic has created some truly accurate renders of these two candidates. We're not sure what the legal ramifications of creating such accurate character models will be. At the very least, they can say the in-game Sarah Palin is actually Tina Fey. As for Obama? Well, we don't think he minds being in video games. See the trailer, after the cut. And then, don't forget that election day is on November 4th.

The Battlefield Bad Company trophy patch is now available for download. Simply insert and launch the game disc and follow the on screen instructions. This patch adds quite a large selection of content including bug fixes and those all important Trophies. The update should also contain four new multiplayer maps as voted for by you, the community. Namely: Acta Non Verba, Par For The Course, Ghost Town and Crossing Over. Check out the official website for videos of the four new maps. http://badcompany.ea.com
