  1. Exactly. It'll add a little lifespan to the game and re-capture some of the original interest for a bit. I'll play it again, but not as much as before, and only because there really is no other opiton. I've given up on Confrontation ever becoming great. Overall it's still the same POS failure that we all have been bitching about since it's release. Releasing 5 new maps over a year later doesn't change that. They still haven't fixed the OTS. I still have to cycle out of it to return to classic when I'm scoped in. Now the maps are so dark that I'm forced to use nightvision, which is OTS. As someone who likes to snipe this absolutely drives me nuts. Instead of playing the game, I have to incessantly fiddle with extra buttons if I want to snipe on a night map. They nerfed the DE too. I was shooting people at point blank and my hits weren't registering. Which furthers my theory on how they coded accuracy--the bullets just disappear instead of missing their mark. The fire rate is ridiculous now, I swear bolt action rifles fire faster that the DE. There should also be ranked medleys with both original and DLC maps. Seriously, how hard is that? I haven't been to the Socom forums in a while, but isn't this it? They were saying 1.6 was the final patch and we were only getting 1 map pack.
  2. I call BS on this. They really didn't tell us anything that wasn't in the blog updates. There's no "hand-on" at all. IGN got paid to run this article. "hard at work"????? "rocky start"??? Yeah, whatever.
  3. I disagree with this.Tunnel vision is the hardest thing for me in FPS. I don't walk around staring at my feet, and I don't trip and fall on everything in my path. Seeing around corners and through walls is dumb, but at least TPS gives a better approximation of our actual field of vision. I'd be happy if in FPS we had another button where we could could zoom out a little bit more, and they could just make it so we couldn't shoot while zoomed out.
  4. I spent all that time trying to kill the red eyed spear guy so I can get in that door he's guarding. I finally kill him and he doesn't even have the key. > :-[ I moved on to some mine map, with a bunch of fat fire breathing guys. What's the deal with the crystal gecko? He ran away before I could get him. I noticed if you hold down square (I think) your guy will do a cheer or a celebration dance. You get a list of options.
  5. I may hate you.
  6. When I first started playing I saw those blue marks all over the place. Now, I never do. How does it work? When one person dies are you done or can you catch back up to the other guy?
  7. I almost tossed my controller last night. I am so pissed that I still can't beat the stupid spear guy at the top left of the first section. He has end endless supply of grass and can huff it down twice as fast as I can. Whatever is behind that locked door better be good. I killed some guy in the Nexus. I hope he wasn't important. He was being a jerk. He had it coming. The one with all the books around him.
  8. Patch to fix the MP issues and DLC coming at the end of this month. How long did we have to wait for Socom DLC and a patch to complete the game? Ohhh. That's right. We are still waiting, a year later.
  9. That's a good idea. Is there a new arcstone after those guys, or do you still have to beat them every time? I'll try that tonight. After you beat the dogs, go straight and there is a merchant that sells armour at the end of the hall. It was funny last night, I stayed on the bridge for the second dragon, as I usually do, the archers don't bother my dual sword wielding dervish of death, went up and killed the crossbow guys on top, and the the damn dogs came running up the stairs and killed me. I wasn't expecting that at all, so I didn't have my dog killing equipment ready. In the nexus, straight across from the Boletarian stone is the Shadow Men Realm (something like that). Right at the begining of that world is a big skeleton guy that coughs up 300 souls every time you beat him. If he doesn't mess you up too bad in the battle, then continue on and there's a few more of those guys on the stairs. If they start to whoop on you you can just head back to the nexus to regenerate. I did this a lot last night and got myself a suit of armour and leveled up a few times. I'm strong enough to wield the spear with one hand now, which is cool because my guy can stick the demons while hiding behind the shield. Dogs are cake for me now, especially if they come running down a narrow corridor.
  10. I'm right there with you Marauder. I can kill the archers, but as soon as I try to huff some weed the 2 blue guys skewer me. I'm going to change my plan and just gather up souls before I try running through the dragon gauntlet. Maybe if I can get some more skill points or armour I won't need the weed. A halberd makes quick work of the dogs, but until you find the lever to open the gate, it's pointless to go that way. There's a just merchant and behind him a closed gate.
  11. He's up there. Below the pantheon there's a floor with dead monumentals lined up against the wall. One of them is still alive. It's a little boy sitting down with a lit candle in front of him.
  12. I'm surprised that this hasn't come back up. It's a really solid game. I haven't even been playing the multi-player, since the campaign and the co-op are so fun. I posted my early thoughts on the game on our site, BlackOpsUnit.com, here. If anyone is looking for more people to play with, hit me up here, on the PSN or over at our site.
