Hello fellow card sharks! I’m Phil Gaskell, Creative Director of Poker Club, the Texas Hold’em simulation which launches today on PS5 and PS4. Here at Ripstone, we’ve been bringing the best-loved pastimes including poker, pool and chess to PlayStation platforms for close to a decade. So for myself and our small team, working with impressive PS5 hardware is a dream because it allows us to make simulations more immersive, seamless and social, taking full advantage of the lightning fast SSD and DualSense controller. The PS5 is empowering us to deliver what we call “true immersion” in our games by enhancing all of your senses as you play. Play Video Sight PS5 has allowed a small team like ours to create a visual experience that would never have been possible before. We are taking advantage of the powerful hardware to dial up the level of fidelity to 11 in all of our worlds, rendering them in the most beautiful and realistic way possible, with true to life reflections and shadows, all while maintaining a smooth 60fps and 4K resolution. I’m proud of what our team of three artists have been able to achieve with both the environments and lighting; shadows and reflections in particular. Vibrantly lit casinos in Poker Club have a stunning sense of scale and openness, and if you’re playing on a freshly polished high-roller table, your cards will show reflections on the surface with brilliant clarity. It’s amazing to be able to layer in tiny details we’ve never had the power to create before. So when you play from the first-person perspective you’ll be able to see the grainy imperfections in the table’s speed-cloth, or the oily fingerprints fading from the playing cards as the dealer lays them out in front of you. This level of detail is unprecedented and it all comes together to heighten the sense of actually being there, present at the table, with the cards in your hands as you play. Touch The controller has always been one of the most important elements of simulation gaming and what the DualSense controller brings to the table is truly breathtaking. For me, the DualSense is the most exciting part of the PS5 platform, because I love the subtle, extra layers of feedback I can deliver to the player about the world and the action going on around them. It’s the connection you feel to the world you’re immersed in, and it needs to stay out of your way while deepening your connection with what’s happening on the screen. I’ve had a lot of fun discovering what’s possible and where the sweet spots are for enriching the gameplay, without overusing it or overloading the player’s senses. The adaptive triggers allow us to provide degrees of tension for the player. In Poker Club, we can use this as you squeeze the trigger to bend the cards back and have a peek at the hand you’ve been dealt, to give you the realistic sensation of your cards resisting against the playing table. The degree of subtlety when we do this is important, because if it resists too much it would feel gimmicky, but getting it right transcends the experience to genuinely increase your immersion. It’s a delicate balancing act. Designing for haptic feedback is extremely exciting too. The way the DualSense embraces this technology is so advanced that we can replicate very particular sensations. We’re able to play with the feel of the weight of the chips as you place them on the table, and as you push them across the speed-cloth when you make a big bet. Even the poker chip tricks can have a tangible and satisfying feeling too – rolling the chips across your knuckles, or shuffling a stack of chips, will be correctly represented in your hands through the power of the directional feedback and vibrations in the DualSense controller. Even the smallest details can be conveyed through the controller, such as the palpable heartbeat of your player while you think about making your big move as the clock runs down. Sound 3D audio is very cool technology that we’ve actually been working with for a long time. However, with PlayStation 5, we’re now able to use it in many more ways, which can drastically improve your feeling of presence within a game, especially within a simulation. The amount of depth and layers to how we can implement the tech is, quite frankly, ridiculous — in all the best ways! With our first-person in-game camera, we use 3D audio to accurately simulate the sounds around you based on the position of your head — which creates a truly immersive aural experience. The weighty clink of poker chips, the sounds of skin and cards rubbing across the tables, the background music playing on the venue’s wall-mounted speakers, and many other subtle but distinct sounds all work in concert around you to place you in the world and give each venue a unique atmosphere, so you can lose yourself in the action. True Immersion We can take all three of these senses to new places on PS5, to deliver a much deeper and more believable sense of immersion and presence in our simulation games, and it’s all enhanced even further by the lightning fast loading that the SSD brings. It’s been our dream to create a truly next-generational experience that uses all the latest technologies to let players live the life of a poker pro, and connect with other players around the world who love the game. Whether you are playing secret back room games in dingy clubs, deep in the high stakes excitement of a glamorous casino, or competing in a professional poker tournament for up to 228 players, Poker Club on PS5 will emulate that experience with the level of true immersion we have always wanted to achieve. Following the launch of Poker Club we will continue to add and improve our support for PlayStation 5 features. We love to raise the bar with every game we create, and we’re excited about our future on PS5. Thank you to everyone who has bet on us and our games in the past, we really hope you enjoy a poker night or two in Poker Club. Poker Club is available now on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 as part of a cross-buy bundle for $24.99 (£19.99 / €24.99). We will continue to add and improve support for PlayStation 5 features following the launch of Poker Club and you can stay up to date with the latest news over at pokerclubgame.com. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/d3716BVUcbkView the full article

Happy November, True Believers! We’re now more than two months out from launch, and it’s been an exciting and challenging journey. We’ve encountered various setbacks and obstacles on the way, but we remain committed to our mission to deliver the Avengers experience we promised to you. A big part of that, as you know, is new content — and we are so excited to kick that off with Kate Bishop, who also carries the Hawkeye mantle, as our first new Super Hero coming to Marvel’s Avengers! Kate Bishop is a world-class archer, adept swordswoman, and master of sarcasm and snark. As Clint Barton’s protégé who, like him, possesses no superhuman powers, she boasts an impressive skillset that has her able to stand toe-to-toe with the Avengers in protecting the world — a duty that the conscientious Kate takes very seriously. Kate Bishop’s first comics appearance was in Young Avengers (2005) #1 before starring in her own series Hawkeye (2016) #1 – the latter’s cover is an inspiration for one of Kate’s in-game outfits! We wanted to stay true to what made us fall in love with her in the comics, but also tell our own story. You’ll meet Kate as she’s searching for her former mentor, Clint Barton, in her own story operation, Marvel’s Avengers: Kate Bishop – Taking AIM. Along the way, she uncovers a huge conspiracy — time travel level huge — involving the missing Nick Fury and a terrifyingly powerful, new threat: the Super Adaptoid. She takes up the mantle of Hawkeye and joins the Avengers to get to the bottom of the mystery and save a world that doesn’t even know it’s in peril. When we were designing Kate’s kit, it was important to us that we balance the similarities between her and Clint with her unique stylistic differences. She learned much of what she knows from him, so we wanted that to be reflected in her abilities, but it was just as important for her to have her own Heroics, Intrinsics, and Takedowns that set her apart as a fighter with which to be reckoned. Playing as Kate means performing a battlefield dance where you’re never in one place for long. She’s equipped with repurposed AIM tech that uses quantum energy to power her rapid movements around her enemies. Her intrinsic attacks teleport her around enemies and deal increased sword damage. Her Blink skills lets her double jump, air dash, and traverse ledges via short-range teleportation. Kate can also parry enemies with Quantum Shift, which teleports her away from the attack to return and strike from behind. After all, using AIM’s own technology against them is a total Kate thing to do. As a master archer, Kate has a wide variety of bow Skills, each with upgrades that can be unlocked. Her Razor Arrows can be fired in a rapid 3-shot ranged combo, or can be fired with perfect timing for bonus damage. You can fire multiple arrows at a time with Scatter Shot Arrows, which is handy for crowd control or for dealing damage to enemies up close. Explosive Arrows are great for staggering enemies and breaking through their defenses. Finally, her Smoke Screen Arrows do high stun damage to anything inside the cloud of smoke. Kate’s Heroics are all her own, and we wanted to be sure that they authentically reflected her personality. Decoy is Kate’s Support Heroic: it spawns a hologram replica of her that shoots arrows of quantum energy at targets to distract them. If you want to take the deception to another level, use After Image, an upgrade that lets you swap places with the decoy, and Self-Destruct remote detonates the decoy to trigger a large burst of quantum damage. Double the trouble! Her Assault Heroic, Warp Arrow, allows her to teleport over long distances while triggering a large quantum explosion that lifts enemies into the air on her arrival. Worm Hole is an upgrade option for Warp Arrow that creates portals which allies can use to quickly teleport across the battlefield to join Kate. Quantum Overdrive is her Ultimate Heroic, which provides unlimited intrinsic energy, empowering her bow so she can fire quantum energy arrows with explosive results. We can’t wait to see how everyone customizes Kate’s kit! And of course, Kate is deadly proficient with a sword as well; woe to anyone who underestimates her when she puts away her bow. Use her sword for a host of quick and agile sword attacks to deal with enemies that foolishly venture within her striking distance. With such a powerful arsenal of abilities and attacks at her disposal, we definitely wouldn’t want to ever be on her bad side or we’d be quivering in fear. After Kate’s story comes Clint’s story, both of which are intertwined with each other and each pieces of a larger puzzle. You’ll be able to play Clint Barton in early 2021! Kate comes to Marvel’s Avengers on December 8. We’re looking forward to seeing your digital photography, gameplay videos, reactions, builds, and feedback on her! As always, thank you for your encouragement and your suggestions — we couldn’t do it without you. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/cIloqObXGLEView the full article

At Modus Games, we’re excited to welcome all aspiring pilots to dive into the action during Override 2: Super Mech League’s open beta running November 19 to 22 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, featuring cross-generation play! The full mech-brawling experience of Override 2: Super Mech League lands on December 22, but today I’ll be covering what mechs and modes you’ll be able to play right now in the open beta. I’ll also be sharing some competitive tips and tricks for advanced gameplay to help you hit the arena running on launch day. What you’ll be playing In the open beta, you’ll be able test your piloting skills with eight out of the 20 mech full game’s 20-mech roster. These mechs include Mya, Vintage, Setesh, Watchbot, Sprinkles, Aura, Pescado, and Vidar. Each mech has a unique set of gear-busting abilities and Ultimate attacks, so we encourage you to try them all and see which fits your fighting style best! The beta also features four out of the full game’s eight arenas, including Lava, Desert, Atlantis, and Stadium. The first three arenas contain distinct environmental features and hazards such as shifting platforms, or explosive lava geysers to take into consideration while facing off against your opponent. Stadium is a more competitive-oriented arena free of hazards, allowing you to put your mechanical skills on full display. When you’re ready to put the pedal to the metal in ring, Override 2 offers a variety of game modes locally or online with up to four players. In Versus, you can invite your friends to face off in 1v1 battle, 2v2 team matches, or 4-player free-for-all brawls. You can also test your merit in the online Matchmaking mode, that includes a random queue of the same Versus match types in addition to an all-new King-of-the-Hill match type called Control. At launch, you’ll be able to play all these game modes and more with additional customizable features. Piloting 101 Before attaining a level of mech mastery, it’s good to start off with the basics. The open beta features a brief tutorial covering the basic controls and standardized abilities across all mechs. For fans coming from Override 1, we hope you’re excited to see the improvements to combat that includes swifter mobility and attacks. Each mech is equipped with a light punch (LP), light kick (LK), heavy punch (HP), and heavy kick (HK) attack. Any of the two attacks can be used simultaneously to produce one of four unique abilities that are specific to each mech. Players can also jump, double-jump strafe, and block, which all add a level of depth to the overall fighting experience. Advanced tricks and tips In Override 2, we wanted to emphasize a rich combo system and inspire player experimentation. Although you can have a blast with the basics, having a knowledge of advanced combos and set ups will take you a long way in the Super Mech League. Some attacks can be chained together, or partially interrupted by your next attack input to continue the assault. Get an edge over your friends by trying this combo string with Watchbot: LP > LK > HP > HP > HK. Some attacks can be performed that are unique to a specific mech. For example, when grabbing with Pescado you can follow up by either inputting a light or heavy punch to pull off a Tornado Spin or Suplex! Override 2: Super Mech League is an exhilarating contest between skyscraper-sized mechs with larger-than-life personalities and devastating arsenals. We look forward to new pilots joining us for launch to experience an all-new Career Mode, fresh multiplayer game modes, and a stash of earnable cosmetic rewards. You can download the open beta now on the PlayStation Store and pre-order today digitally on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 to receive instant access to Override 1 and an exclusive Override 2 cosmetic when the game launches. One thing that always struck me about the bosses of Demon’s Souls is their sheer variety, with each of them designed to make you feel inconsequential and outmatched – small against the Tower Knight, slow against Penetrator, funneled into a narrow space by the Armored Spider, with nowhere to run. Even your very first encounter, with the corpulent Vanguard, will test your mettle at the opening of your adventure. His sheer bulk and strength will overwhelm even the most skilled players. This first encounter sets up the trepidation and fear that will hound you each time you face off against a new and terrifying boss. But there’s an immense sense of satisfaction when you finally defeat them. We were curious about which bosses were most memorable to our friends and colleagues, so we asked a few of them which were their favorites. Here are a few anecdotes from those who have suffered and triumphed before, including myself. Out of all the abominations that pour suffering upon the land of Boletaria, the most iconic for me is Penetrator. The counter-opposite to the lumbering Tower Knight, Penetrator is all about deadly, quick attacks. His appearance is striking in his amazing silver armor with red accents, and his darting sword is lethal. He is a true warrior, and that’s why I enjoy this battle the most. It’s a pure match of skill and reaction, mano a mano. Simple and elegant. And it’s the most rewarding feeling when you defeat him. Gavin Moore The Old Monk is the shadow behind the power that lurks within the Tower of Latria – the creator of the horrors within, and the ruler who throws those who defy him into the Prison of Hope. But his old and decrepit body is not strong enough to face you in combat, so with his last breath he calls upon a champion, enveloped in the monk’s golden robe of power. This apparition is who you will fight to the death, striking at you with unpredictable fury. I enjoy this boss the most because it is the most challenging, acting almost as if human. And every time you play this battle, it’s never the same. Yasutaka Asakura Executive Producer, SIE Worldwide Studios External Development My favorite fight is the Storm King. From the instant the intro cutscene starts, you know that you’re in for one huge and unique boss fight. Using the

Hello everyone! I am Ryosuke Hara, lead producer of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Thank you for your support of this game so far. We have new and exciting content coming soon, so I would like to take this opportunity to give an overview of the upcoming second DLC: A New Power Awakens – Part 2. Play Video We had quite a large gap between the first and second DLC, so I really appreciate everyone’s patience. In A New Power Awakens – Part 2, you will be protecting the Earth from the invasion of Golden Frieza and the Frieza Army. And in order to do so, Goku and Vegeta will have to train further and awaken their next level of power: the SSGSS transformation. Please keep in mind that while this boss battle episode is built upon the setting from the movie, it actually has its own original story to match the setting and outcomes of the base game. For example, because it was possible to bring the Ginyu Force back to life in the base game, you will have to take them on in the DLC as well. One interesting feature we would like all of you to enjoy is the Horde Battle. In the Horde Battle, you will be fighting against a massive number of enemies, and this was developed to reproduce the desperate battle against the Frieza Army, like what people saw in the movies. As you can imagine, just taking the battle system from the base game and adding a bunch of enemies would not work… and would not be much fun to play. So we’ve made several adjustments to the enemy AI, SFX, skills etc., in order to create a battle true to the original works, while making it enjoyable gameplay-wise. One example is the Z Combination. When launching this skill in the Horde Battle, you will be able to wipe out numerous enemies at once. And the number of enemies you’re able to take out depends on the amount of combos you’ve been able to connect before launching the Z Combination. So combos will mean a lot more compared to what they do in regular battles. Goku and Vegeta will also be acquiring new abilities that will help you take the upper hand of the Horde Battle, so don’t forget to check that out as well. The next and final DLC, which features a brand new story arc, is still undergoing development and we are really hard at work to make it an exciting and fun content to play. I really look forward to announcing more info in 2021. So in the meantime, please enjoy A New Power Awakens – Part 2 and prepare for the next challenge! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/7Xri4bE2Dm8View the full article

Ready to make history? Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War marks the epic return to one of the most thrilling and unforgettable video game series of all time, out today for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The game features three modes: a pulse-pounding Multiplayer mode, an exciting new story in the cooperative Zombies mode, and a mind-bending single-player Campaign, all thematically connected. With available crossplay and cross-progression features, as well as a new progression system tied between Multiplayer and Zombies, players can compete with their friends while earning the prestigious title of Prestige Master each Season, no matter which platform they play on. Let’s get you set for the Black Ops experience. Campaign: The single-player experience of Black Ops Cold War is the direct sequel to the original Black Ops Campaign and features a mind-bending narrative that includes the return of Alex Mason, Frank Woods, and Jason Hudson. Along with playing as Mason, you’ll create your own operative and join a CIA-led task force in finding a global threat called “Perseus,” a Soviet agent that is set to shift the balance of the Cold War after decades of dormancy. Missions within the Campaign include a variety of differing playstyles, such as close quarter, stealth, and long-range combat scenarios. Some tips will help you uncover a Cold War conspiracy decades in the making during the campaign. 1. Nowhere Left to Run. This first mission acts as a great way to learn in-game mechanics, such as aiming, firing, equipment usage, taking cover, and movement. Use this opportunity to tune your difficulty and learn your individual strengths and weaknesses with Alex Mason before you create an operative for the rest of the Campaign. 2. Psych Up for Character Creation. From damage buffs to being able to carry additional equipment and more, the Psych Profile is the most important part of creating your own operative. Be sure to spend a few minutes here and explore every option to fit how you want to experience your current playthrough. 3. Recommended New Player Psych Profile. If you find yourself losing health often, or want a bit of a buffer from an untimely death, make one of your Psych Profiles Survivor, which increases your health by 25%, and the other Dependable, which reduces damage taken while stationary by 30%. 4. Don’t Turn Down a Chance to Takedown. Holding the command to melee triggers a Takedown, which is where you grab an enemy and use them as a shield before finishing them off or throwing them toward an enemy group with an explosive surprise. Use this whenever possible, as it can be extremely effective against large groups of enemies and when cover is limited. 5. Leave No Corner Unchecked. Along with protecting yourself from enemy soldiers, use this adage in exploring the Campaign, especially when it comes to dialogue options. Don’t hesitate to replay the Campaign and explore different ways to gather enemy information, even if it means breaking a few of their bones along the way… Multiplayer: The signature Multiplayer experience of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War offers a variety of fun and competitive modes with customizable loadouts and a revamped progression system. Fight alongside and against members of the Call of Duty community in a variety of traditional Multiplayer offerings – including Team Deathmatch, Domination, Free-For-All, and more – and a variety of 6v6 objective modes, including the all-new VIP Escort and the return on Control. Experience the thrill of 12v12 combat with vehicles in Combined Arms, or squad up with three other players for the biggest Multiplayer experience in the game where 10 squads of four Operators battle for supremacy on the largest maps on offer. Through Create-a-Class, you’ll have an ultra-customizable loadout to bring to battle, complete with a versatile Field Upgrade and a rule-breaking Wildcard to fit your playstyle. Rack up eliminations and play the objective play to earn Scorestreaks, powerful rewards that range from badass weaponry to controllable aerial vehicles that deliver devastating power to the fight. Successful Deniable Ops require all the best intel. 1. Create-a-Class Insights from Default Loadouts. The five pre-built loadouts offer great examples of how to build a solid custom loadout. If you’re unsure about where to start with a new custom loadout, feel free to borrow directly from the Default ones before further fine-tuning one to your personal playstyle. 2. Combined Arms: A Vehicle for Victory. Given the size of 12v12 Combined Arms maps, consider taking smaller vehicles, such as a Dirt Bike or Wakerunner, to advance to the next objective quicker. Alternatively, if there is an overwhelming number of enemies, take a larger vehicle, such as a Tank or Gunboat, to bust open their position and help your squad advance forward. 3. Fireteam Dirty Bomb: Exploration Leads to Domination. Take time to check buildings and other notable areas for caches, which will contain Uranium, Armor, and even Self-Revive Kits and Scorestreaks. Although it may be tempting to jump into the fight right away, a bit of exploration can load your squad up with tools that can easily turn the tide of multi-team fights, not to mention grant enough Uranium to get a Dirty Bomb primed and detonated. 4. Low Scorestreaks are Better than No Scorestreaks. If you have trouble earning high-cost Scorestreaks, there is no shame in equipping those that require less score to earn. Some of them, such as the Spy Plane, provide benefits for the whole team and give you additional XP for each teammate assisted, and even a well-placed RC-XD can wipe out an enemy squad huddled around an objective. 5. Seasonal Prestige: Your Key to Bragging Rights. Earned all the loadout items? Good. Keep levelling up to unlock the Season’s designated Weapon Blueprint and legacy profile items through Seasonal Prestige. Getting into this progression path also unlocks new Season Challenges, which offer additional Calling Card rewards for completing some of the toughest objectives in the game. Zombies: This co-op experience features you and up to three other Operators fending off legions of undead horrors as agents of Requiem, a CIA-backed international response team led by Grigori Weaver tasked at investigating and suppressing supernatural anomalies around the world. While coming face-to-face with the rival Omega Group, a Soviet-led organization looking to research and potentially harness these anomalies for themselves, Requiem agents will use upgradeable Perks and an arsenal of Cold War-era Zombies weaponry against waves of the undead, as well as uncover decades-old secrets that could upend the global order. This is also where you can play the third installment of the Black Ops series’ co-op top-down arcade shooter! Jump into a match from the Zombies menu with your team and survive as long as possible through challenging new arenas, open world spaces, bonus areas, and randomly generated dungeons. Finally, for all PlayStation 4 and 5 players, get access to Zombies Onslaught bonus mode first when you buy Black Ops Cold War. This 2 player cooperative activity extends the Zombies experience to Multiplayer maps from locations around the globe. The goal – survive. Survive long enough and reap exclusive rewards. If you really want to master the Zombies experience, heed advice from the Requiem team. 1. Remember: Progression Carries Over. Levelling up in Multiplayer offers loadout items in Zombies, and all weapon experience and attachments are kept between modes. The more you play either mode, the more game-changing armaments and abilities you’ll unlock to help reach those high rounds. 2. The Mystery Box: Risk vs. Reward. While spending points on a random weapon may seem risky, the Mystery Box has a chance at giving you powerful new weapons, including the iconic Ray Gun and higher-rarity weapons than the ones you’re currently wielding. If you have the points to spare in later rounds, find that light in the sky and let it lead you toward the Mystery Box for a potentially massive step up in firepower. Keep in mind that for the first time, the odds of the Mystery Box providing higher-rarity weapons increases as the rounds get higher. 3. Follow the Steps, Achieve Salvation. “Die Maschine” includes a handy step-by-step guide on-screen to help you and your squad turn on the power – which activates all machines around the map – and unlock the Pack-a-Punch machine, a powerful device that upgrades weapons to make them fit to fight increasingly tougher undead waves. In other words, completing these initial objectives are crucial to your success and are key to setting up a high-round run. 4. You Don’t Have to Go Down with the Fight. Completing an Exfil rewards you and the whole squad for surviving one last horde and escaping the map. After calling an Exfil, rush to safety and fight back the undead horde one last time, and you’ll be given bonus XP and the chance to earn Raw Aetherium Crystals to help you upgrade your Skills. 5. Squads Rule Requiem’s Ranks. Zombies is built on cooperative play; grab some friends or communicate often with your random squadmates using the new locational Ping system to ensure everyone can handle the higher rounds and help to crack open those intricate Easter eggs. Play Video Welcome to the Brink Post-Launch Content and Warzone: Black Ops Cold War is scheduled to have live seasons post-launch featuring a load of new post-release content coming free for all players on all platforms simultaneously. These live seasons will also further the evolution of Warzone, which now features Operators from Black Ops Cold War. Whether you love blasting the undead with friends, dominating in Multiplayer, or embarking on a globe-trotting Campaign, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has something for you. Dive into the action now on PS4 or PS5. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/Y3pL8Zsxta0View the full article

Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory is finally available on PlayStation 4, bringing rhythm-action gameplay to the songs and stories of the beloved Kingdom Hearts series. While many of you have already been perfecting your skills via the available demo, we asked Producer Ichiro Hazama to share some of his best tips to help you master the music. Below are five ways you can better your beats! Pick the perfect pace for you Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory features three play styles across three difficulties. If you’re new to rhythm-action games, or just want to enjoy the music, One Button mode on beginner is the setup for you. You can still use items and get help from team members as you unlock trickier songs, but you’ll be able to experience things at your own pace and learn the ropes of the game more easily. As you progress, of course, you’ll want to switch things up until you’re playing Performer mode on Proud difficulty, and really bringing the action to the rhythm. Learn the difference between attacks and magic (and don’t forget to jump) Just like in other Kingdom Hearts games, there are a number of ways to attack enemies in Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, and the key(blade) to getting those top scores is learning the enemy types and which attacks are used to defeat them. Looking ahead and preparing for your next attack, jump, or magic in anticipation will lead to better chains and higher scores. Feel the Rhythm Battles may look a bit like a classic Kingdom Hearts encounter—what with the familiar enemies and abilities up your sleeve to deal with them—but as your team runs along the tracks to the beat of the music, you’ll have to time your strikes to perfection. Keep an eye on targeting reticules that close in on your enemies. You’ll need to strike on the beat of the music as the shapes align to get that perfect hit. Your team will showcase spectacular moves, so don’t get distracted – keeping an eye on your targets will help perfect those scores! Memorize your chains The biggest scores are achieved by getting huge chains of attacks. You must consistently hit the enemies without taking damage to keep your chain going. It’s not only enemies that hinder your progress however, crates and barrels will also be an obstacle to your success. These can’t reduce your HP, but they will break your chain! Make sure you’re hitting them in time to keep your chain going and get those high scores. Practice to perfection Once you beat a track on the World Tour, you unlock it in Track Selection mode. Here you can choose your favourites songs and replay them with the same or different team! This is a great way to learn each track, hone your skills and build those chains – and then you can take them to VS mode and challenge the world in online multiplayer! Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory is available now for PS4 at PlayStation Store. Try out the demo today. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/C8F6vrCnPXgView the full article

Hey everyone, I’ll never forget the day we released the first Marvel’s Spider-Man Photo Mode screenshot. It was a simple selfie of Spider-Man, perched high above Marvel’s New York while flashing a peace sign to his smartphone’s camera. The reaction from the community was instant and enormous. Since then, you’ve taken so many photos and shared them with us. We have been constantly blown away by the creations of the community. From Marvel fans to avid digital photographers, seeing how you have used the game to create amazing screenshots was inspiring to us. We knew from the beginning of working on Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales that we would have to make Photo Mode even better. To show you our efforts, here’s a video showing off some of the new features in the new and improved mode. Play Video One thing we saw constantly was the way the community used various spots in the city to add lighting enhancements in their shots. When Gil Doron, our UI/UX Lead and Photo Mode Guru, saw these photos, he wanted to make it easier for players to use lighting anywhere, anytime. This led to creation of Light Mode. You’ll be able to place and control up to three lights and adjust height, distance, color, light intensity, color intensity, spread and softness. We’re also giving players the power to control the natural light – you can adjust the lighting in the environment, including the sun’s intensity, elevation and rotation. And you can adjust the ambient light as well. One of our favorite tips is to set the ambient light very low and then use the light rigs for amazing contrast. Beyond all of the amazing tools from the original game, we also have added the exciting ability to change suits directly from the Photo Mode menu, turn hero and enemy visibility on/off, turn the weather on/off, and we have made separate options for near and far depth of field. You’ll also find all new stickers and Photo Mode frames celebrating Miles Morales! And for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, we’ve added many of these new Photo Mode features as well, and we can’t wait to see how these new tools allow digital photographers to take amazing new shots with Peter. Even at Insomniac, our team is obsessed with Photo Mode and making new captures. You’re seeing a bunch of their efforts in this blog, but we also wanted to bring you their tips and tricks for taking amazing shots! “Don’t be afraid of the filters overpowering your shots. Even having them on at 25% or below can add a nice subtle change to the image that you can’t get with just lighting.” Brandon Tepezeno, Dev Support “My flow is getting the composition. Move the sun/moon if you’re outside! Place lights to your liking, then mess with focus distance/aperture.” James Ham, Senior Animator “I’ve used spotlights just aimed in the air to emphasize weather effects like fog or snow (or give them dramatic coloring).” Paul Hiley, Senior Gameplay Programmer “One of the first things I mess with when using Photo Mode is the tilt setting. Tilting the camera can really help capture the movement of a swinging or combat shot. Also using colored lights works best when you try to match them with the color of the subject you’re capturing. For example, purple lights look really good when you have an Underground enemy in the shot.” Charlie Carucci, Designer “Even if you play in Performance Mode, we flip to Fidelity mode on PS5 when you enter Photo Mode so every shot will be 4K* and include ray-tracing.” Mike Fitzgerald, Core Director “You can use lights to emphasize FX. Put orange or yellow lights on Miles when doing a Venom Power shot to really sell the brightness of the effects.” Gil Doron, UI/UX Lead That’s all for now, please be sure to tag us on Instagram and Twitter when you share your Photo Mode shots, and use the #MilesMoralesPS5, #MilesMoralesPS4 and #SpiderManPS5 hashtags! *Requires a compatible 4K compatible TV or display to view images in 4K. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/y8keZj5HBisView the full article

On behalf of Team Ninja, I want to express our sincere gratitude for supporting the Nioh series and our team through this long and wonderful ride. Congratulations! You and your PlayStation 5 are ready to start creating content on Twitch. Thanks to the Create button on your DualSense wireless controller it’s now faster than ever to start up a stream from the comfort of your console. The guide below will show you how to set up a Twitch account and how to adjust some of your Twitch settings, as well as how to go live on Twitch from your PS5. While many streamers choose to start streaming with a laptop or computer, the good news is that for most gamers, you have everything you need to start streaming already in your living room. If you’ve got a PlayStation 5 console, you can be live on Twitch in just a few simple steps*. 1. Create a Twitch account from a mobile device or computer. We recommend downloading Twitch on your iOS or Android phone to adjust your stream settings on the fly, which is easy to do with your Stream Manager in the Twitch app. 2. Personalize your channel so viewers know who you are when they discover your page! You can modify your profile photo and bio on mobile, or customize a number of additional settings via a web browser. We’ve set up an entire Creator Camp page on Personal Branding to show you all of the places you can customize your channel page to reflect you and your brand. 3. Before you start streaming, we recommend that you log in to your Twitch account from a web browser so you can establish your Moderation and Safety settings to ensure the experience for your growing community is positive. AutoMod is a great tool to serve as your first line of defense for moderation because it will detect messages in chat that have been flagged as inappropriate and block them from appearing until you or a moderator review and approve. You can also update your settings to include a custom list of words or phrases to filter from your channel automatically. Streaming from the PlayStation 5 console 1. First, you’ll need to link your Twitch account to PlayStation Network by following the directions on your screen and scanning the QR code, or inputting the code provided to twitch.tv/activate. If you already linked your PlayStation Network and Twitch accounts on PS4, you’ll be able to migrate that to PS5 during this process. Keep in mind that two-factor authentication is required to stream from your PS5, even if you migrate your linked PlayStation Network & Twitch accounts. 2. While playing a game, press the Create button on your controller and then select Broadcast from the Create options, and select Twitch. You can also select Broadcast from your customized Control Center. Players can use the DualSense controller mic for broadcast audio as well. 3. Give your stream a title, add in your PlayStation 5 HD Camera if available, customize your overlay position, and more. You can also choose your video quality options from the Capture and Broadcasts section of the System menu. Tip: You will automatically be placed in the game category for the game you’re playing. For maximum searchability and follower engagement, we recommend using the Twitch iOS or Android app so you can select a custom go-live notification and add in additional tags. 4. Click Go Live and you’re now streaming! 5. To stop streaming, press the Create button on your controller, select Broadcast from the Create options, and then select Stop Broadcasting. You can also press the PlayStation button to stop broadcasting via the Control Center or Broadcast card. Alternatively, you can select Pause Broadcast via the Create options to take a break. To increase the quality of your streams, we recommend ensuring upgraded audio and visuals. The quality of your audio is critical in helping you connect with viewers. If you’re interested in inviting viewers to see your reactions while playing, you’ll need to purchase the PlayStation 5 HD Camera. This guide is just the beginning of your Twitch journey and we’re so glad to see you on your way! Your path as a content creator is unique, whether you’re streaming on Twitch as a hobby or wanting to make it a career. There is no pressure to plan the perfect stream. Take your time and have as much fun as you can while sharing your next-generation PlayStation 5 experience with your community and the world. *Internet connection required to watch and stream via Twitch. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/B0n9uKWo1xkView the full article

It’s launch day! It’s incredibly exciting to see Sackboy: A Big Adventure released and players to finally be able to experience the little fuzzy fella’s biggest adventure yet! There is so much to enjoy in this game, it’s absolutely jam-packed! As well as the main story levels where you will face off against the dastardly Vex, we also have loads of side-content and challenges that will really put your platforming skills to the test. Play Video Before we give you some tips and tricks to set you on your way with Sackboy and his friends, we wanted to remind you that the full online multiplayer functionality within Sackboy: A Big Adventure will be coming via a patch, a few weeks after launch*. This will also include cross-gen support so none of your friends need to miss out on the fun whether they are on PS5 or PS4! Until then, from today you’ll still be able to enjoy Sackboy with your household in offline couch co-op party play*. 2-4 player parties can play through the whole game including unmissable co-op only levels. For those folk who take up the offer of a free upgrade from the PS4 version to the PS5 version, we will also be adding in the ability to transfer your save too! I wanted to take this opportunity to share a few tips and tricks to help you tackle some of the toughest challenges that you’ll encounter on your journey through Craftworld: The Knitted Knight Trials. The Knitted Knight Trials Sackboy: A Big Adventure sees our favourite diminutive woollen hero embark on an epic journey to thwart the dastardly Vex and his evil plan to turn Craftworld into his own nightmarish theme park. Sackboy is aided on his quest by Scarlet, the last surviving Knitted Knight. The ancient order of the Knitted Knights are the sworn protectors of Craftworld. In her role as Sackboy’s mentor, Scarlet sets him a series of trials to test his courage and skill so that he can prove himself worthy of becoming a Knitted Knight. The Knitted Knight Trials are some of the most challenging levels in the game. These quick-fire, arcade-y speed runs give you a single life to complete a hazard strewn obstacle course in the shortest time possible. There are initially 15 trials to discover and master and if you earn at least a bronze trophy in each of them then you will unlock the game’s ultimate challenge: The Ripsnorter! In this final trial you have a single life with which to negotiate a 10-minute, nerve-shredding, assault course. An ultra-rare costume reward awaits any player skilful enough to conquer The Ripsnorter. So, without further ado, here are my top tips for negotiating the trials, conquering the Ripsnorter and proving your worth as a Knitted Knight. Tip 1: Flutter to defy gravity Flutter is a new move in Sackboy’s repertoire where he briefly thumbs his nose at gravity and extends his hangtime. You can flutter by pressing and holding jump while airborne. Fluttering is great for extending your jump distance and avoiding moving hazards. Tip 2: Rolling is faster than running The wee man had learned to roll! And you can roll indefinitely by repeatedly mashing… well… the Roll button. The crucial thing for any aspiring speed runner roller to know is that Sackboy rolls faster than he runs, so you will want to use this move extensively if you’re going to achieve the top times. (You can also roll into a jump to slightly increase your jump distance. But shhh it’s a secret.) Tip 3: Dodge to evade hazards Another new ability in Sackboy’s expanded move set is Dodge. Dodging lets Sackboy quickly evade incoming attacks and hazards. To dodge, push the left-stick away from danger and tap the Roll button. Tip 4: Time bonus collectables aren’t always worth it The trials feature time bonus pick-ups which, when collected, will knock a few valuable seconds off the clock. Be warned however, some of these pickups are off the beaten path and if you want to achieve the very best times then taking a detour is not always worth… erm… your time. Tip 5: Chain moves together to extend your hangtime This is possibly the most important tip of all. Sackboy can flutter, dive, slap and spin while airborne to extend his jumps. And you can chain some or even all of these moves together to cover much bigger distances. Tip 6: Cutting corners is encouraged! Each course features shortcuts that can expedite your route to the finish line. Look out for anywhere you might be able to skip a section. See a jump you think you might just be able to make? Go for it! Roll to build up speed, take a leap of faith, flutter and add more moves to your combo to leap great distances and find the optimal route to the finish. Tip 7: The clock doesn’t start until you cross the line The timer only starts ticking when you set off. So choose your moment wisely. Well there you have it. That’s my seven tips for tackling the Knitted Knight Trials. Remember to attack each course, maintain your momentum and if you slip up don’t get discouraged, practice makes perfect. Finally, if you do make it all the way to the Ripsnorter… Good luck! *Coming by late 2020/early 2021 via patch (internet connection required). http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/voG-cDFAHcEView the full article

Bluepoint Games’s gorgeous next-gen remake of the game that laid the groundwork for a new kind of tough but fair action RPGs, launches today. For those brave new souls who wish to take on the challenge that is Demon’s Souls for the first time, we have put together an adventurer’s guide to get you started on your incredible quest. Please be aware that it may contain minor spoilers. Play Video Souls are everything The souls you harvest from fallen foes are the central currency of this bleak, oppressive world; you’ll use them to level up and to purchase items at vendors. If you die, and can’t survive the battle back to where you were slain, it’s gone. Forever. Death is not the end Death will come knocking, and you will lose all those precious souls. The sooner you come to grips with this fact, the sooner you’ll learn that every journey through a level is a learning experience – one meant to teach you the location of hazards, enemies and their attack patterns. Your quest has many roads Upon your arrival in the Nexus, you’ll be greeted by five Archstones leading to distant lands. Each of these lands contain roads that progressively become more dangerous, always ending in a demonic battle. The leftmost Archstone is generally considered where a novice adventurer starts and ends their quest. Search high and low Demon’s Souls’ level design is ornate, and littered with ways to help shorten your arduous quest, though they’re not always easy to discover. It’s hard to overstate how much of a relief it is to find a lever or ladder that leads you back to an Archstone portal. Watch what you are carrying Keeping your encumbrance in check offers massive gains in the distance you can roll and how far you can sprint. Your total item weight is viewable in your inventory; yellow means you’re becoming encumbered and you might want to drop something, while red means you’ll move like a corpse in the ichor of the Valley of Defilement. Don’t worry too much about being whole or a soul When you die your human body will be replaced with a walking ghost, your soul form. Whilst in Body Form you possess your full lifeforce, in Soul Form your ghostly remains can only muster half, but don’t get too hung up on trying to restore your humanity. It’ll happen automatically after defeating a great demon. Soul Form is where you will mainly exist, and it’s easier to wrap your head around that being the “true” amount of life you have rather than expending valuable items to stay human. Choosing a class Upon accepting your quest, you will be asked to choose a class. Your character’s only limitation on weapons, armor and sorceries are stat points, so you’re free to upgrade and experiment as much as you like. Over time you can learn and evolve, developing new skills to become the Slayer of Demons. That said, the Royalty class is without question the “easiest”choice for a new adventurer who would brave the lands of Demon’s Souls. Royalty is blessed with a catalyst and a knowledge of the dark arts and spells. With the ability to lock onto enemies with a click of L3 and fling Soul Arrows from afar, enemies have to close the distance to do damage. The focus on ranged attacks makes it a good fit for the more cautious adventurer. Hopefully this guide has given you a few handy hints as to how you’ll start your game. Much of the fun (and tension) of Demon’s Souls lies in not knowing what’s around the corner, so care was taken not to spoil things too much. There is something absolutely fundamental that can ruin a new player’s game for good, though, so we’ll spoil the surprise. NPCs – that is people you can actually talk to instead of bludgeoning to death on sight – can be killed or turned hostile. This includes an innocent wayward button press while setting down the DualSense wireless controller, and once an NPC is gone, they’re gone for good. This can mean losing out to entire storefronts for the rest of the game, so be on guard while near a friendly face or you may pay the ultimate price. Eager to know more? On behalf of the entire team, I’d like to say that it has been a privilege over the past three years to work on Demon’s Souls. It’s been humbling to bring new life to a PlayStation classic so that fans of the original and a whole new generation of gamers can experience this timeless legend. To us, we’ve always been thinking about remaking Demon’s Souls for many years, but we never felt we could do it justice. But now with the power of next-gen, we felt that we were ready to take on that challenge, one which we met face on. It’s been an honor to create a launch title on PlayStation 5. Our only regret is that our friend and colleague Ken Kajii, who was the original producer on Demon’s Souls at JAPAN Studio, is no longer with us to share in this moment. We hope we have done him and his legacy proud. It’s been a phenomenal journey since the announce back in June, and it’s been amazing to see the reaction from fans across the world. But now that the game is finally out, it’s up to you to strap on your armor, gather your courage and discover the incredible world of Demon’s Souls on PS5 for yourself. For those brave new souls who wish to take on the challenge that is Demon’s Souls for the first time, we have put together an adventurer’s guide to get you started on your incredible quest. Please be aware that it may contain minor spoilers. By the way, if you still need more convincing, check out our launch trailer. It’s a small glimpse of some of the many wonders to discover in the realms of Boletaria. It also features one of my favorite pieces of music in the game, so definitely give it a listen. Play Video In short: The time has come. The game is out. Play it. Peace! What a year. I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for cheering us on and keeping us honest. I know I speak for all of Sony Interactive Entertainment when I say that you are at the very center of everything we make and do here. We never wavered in our vision for delivering a truly next-generation console that was built to excite both gamers and developers. We also knew that it would be nearly impossible for gamers and press to experience next-generation features like the DualSense wireless controller’s haptic feedback, or our immersive 3D Audio, in a socially-distanced world. But starting tonight in some regions, players will begin turning on their PlayStation 5 consoles for the very first time and getting their first taste of these innovative features. It’s a heartening, and humbling, moment for all of us here at Sony Interactive Entertainment. While the launch begins tonight in North America, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea – this is just the first step in our global rollout. PS5 will expand to the rest of the world on November 19, and I can’t wait until everyone can get their hands on it. PS5 represents a true generational leap, and the games you will experience over the coming years are sure to change gaming forever. The ultra-high speed SSD alone will revolutionize how games are developed and played, not to mention the increased fidelity and performance many PS5 games offer. And then there is, of course, the DualSense wireless controller. It’s an exciting time, and we’re so grateful that you’re here with us. Thank you for trusting us and for being so patient this year. We created PS5 for you and you have been the center of our strategy since Ken Kutaragi envisioned the very first PlayStation. Today, I just wanted to simply say: thank you. Thank you, and here’s to the dawn of a new generation of gaming. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/Rz7X15gxNcMView the full article

Hi everybody! Hello from Team Asobi! We hope you are all doing well and are excited about the upcoming launch of PlayStation 5. Today, we are delighted to tell you more about Astro’s Playroom, the game that comes pre-loaded in every PS5. To recap, the game is an action platformer featuring intergalactic hero Astro taking you on an adventure inside the PlayStation 5 console. The game was created from the ground up as a showcase for the DualSense wireless controller, taking advantage of the haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, motion sensor, speaker, mic and touchpad. Using all of those neat features, the game lets you feel the world and every single interaction in ways that were never possible before. By combining what you see on the screen and what you feel and hear from the DualSense wireless controller, developers are now able to create a wide range of new expressions that truly lets you feel the world. Back at Team Asobi, we spent a couple of years experimenting with the DualSense wireless controller and incorporated some of the best examples into Astro’s Playroom for you to get a taste of what next generation feels like. Throughout the 4 worlds and 16 stages that make up the main adventure of Astro’s Playroom, Astro will come across power up suits that each give you distinct abilities. For example, the Monkey Suit lets you climb steep walls. Using the motion sensor and adaptive triggers, you can feel the tension as you clinch onto each rock to make your way to the top. Weaker handholds require a lighter pull of the adaptive triggers to make sure they don’t shatter under your grip! Another example: in the SSD Speedways stage, Astro boards a mini-rocket ship the left and right thrusters of which are controlled with the adaptive triggers. You can feel the force of each jet increase the more pressure you apply to its respective trigger. It is a truly new sensation! There are many other power ups to play with, including a ball suit to roll around in (with the haptic feedback letting you feel the different surfaces you pass over) and a Spring suit to launch yourself around platforms, as you use the adaptive triggers to loosen or tighten its in-built spring. Astro is even packing a couple of weapons to help on his quest! Finally, we are delighted to be able to talk about another feature that we are super passionate about. As well as making a showcase of the DualSense wireless controller, Astro’s Playroom is also a huge celebration of 25 years of PlayStation history. The game is jam-packed with tributes and references to the PlayStation universe. As you explore Astro’s Playroom’s levels, you’ll be collecting various consoles, controllers and accessories that can be stored – and interacted with! – inside PlayStation Labo, the museum-like area contained within the game’s hub world. These artifacts look glorious in 4K and packed with little details such as connectors, labels… you can even spot the original serial numbers! These were so fun to create and really bring back nostalgic memories. There are also 96 puzzle pieces to collect, which assemble to create a fresco of the PlayStation timeline all the way from 1994 to today. We included tons and tons of Easter eggs, so be sure to check them all out! But what would a tribute to PlayStation be without the many games and heroes of our favorite franchise, right? The Bots certainly thought so and dressed up for the occasion! There are over 60 cameos hidden throughout the game which offer knowing winks to titles from across all four PlayStation generations. If you spot a Bot wielding a camera and wearing a blue PlayStation cap, be sure to look around nearby: you’re sure to spot a famous moment being reenacted! There are so many more secrets relating to the PlayStation universe but we think it’s better we let you discover them by yourselves. Okay, one last hint: there’s an extra special treat awaiting those who complete all four game worlds… But that’s not all! Once you are done collecting all artifacts and puzzle pieces in the main campaign, you’ll unlock eight all-new speed run challenges based on the four game worlds. And these come will online leaderboards, so why not jump online and challenge the world? Finally, we are super excited to confirm that the game comes with a full trophy set including a Platinum. And we hope some of the trophies we included will make you laugh! There you have it! That was a brief overview of what Astro’s Playroom has in store for you when you get your hands on PlayStation 5. We at Team Asobi had a blast making this game. It is pre-loaded in every PS5, meaning it is our gift to you, the amazing PlayStation community. We would not be here without you and we wanted to show you our most sincere appreciation. Astro will be back with news soon. Until then, have a great time with your PS5 and above all, stay warm and safe! See you around, friends! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/PVoy96L8ldcView the full article

Everyone here at Bloober Team is thrilled to bring you our next-gen horror game, Observer: System Redux. PlayStation 5 has opened new doors for us to retell this story, allowing opportunities to add new content and features that were previously unattainable. We’ve taken all the content from the original Observer, and upgraded it with next-gen features like 4K resolution, upgraded textures, new animations, models, and effects, all transformed with ray-tracing and HDR lighting. We’re taking full advantage of everything the PlayStation 5 console has to offer, including new features built into the DualSense wireless controller. Observer: System Redux also contains three new missions created specifically for this definitive version of the game. At Bloober Team, we’re horror experts who believe a compelling story is as important as jump scares. We’ve been building games in the genre for a while with hit titles like Layers of Fear, Observer, and Blair Witch under our belts. Observer: System Redux, which will be available on PS5 at launch day, is a dark cyberpunk thriller that tells a deeply personal story about a mind-hacking detective in search of his missing son. Along the way, you’ll solve cases by hacking into minds to experience visceral psychedelic scenarios and discover more about the dystopian future this story is set in. Horror games are all about crafting a sense of feeling. To achieve this, we weave audio and visual cues throughout our narrative and use lighting tricks to direct the eye. Now, the DualSense wireless controller and the newly unleashed visual capabilities of PlayStation 5 give us the opportunity to further immerse our players in this world. At the studio, our mantra is “Immersion is king”— our goal is for players to truly believe they are the character in the horror story they are playing. The PlayStation 5’s new tech has helped us more fully realize the world of Observer in Observer: System Redux. Ray tracing and 4k visuals have let us create even more realistic environments, while the extra power of the console means better animations, more detailed faces, and smoother movement, all contributing to the overall immersion. An especially cool feature to design around is the DualSense wireless controller. With Observer: System Redux, we’ve envisioned the DualSense haptic feedback as a way to better bridge the gap between the experiences players see and hear in the game by providing sensations they can feel in the real world. The controller becomes an extension of the player’s senses. Thanks to DualSense, the player will feel the weight of items in the game, sense the presence of scanned evidence—all features that are only possible with the DualSense wireless controller. Pressing a button and getting a “Can’t move this” or “Locked” message when interacting with immovable objects in a game isn’t fun. The DualSense wireless controller allowed us to create realistic sensations thanks to its haptic feedback. Try and open a locked door and you’ll feel the resistance through the controller. Similarly, the DualSense wireless controller will simulate opening a door or moving a heavy object such as a bookshelf. It feels like you’ve interacted with that object in the game world. Equally when you unfold cables or hacking devices, you’ll feel the resistance and vibrations through the controller as if you were manipulating these in real life. When you run, you’ll feel the weight of your character as every footfall is registered through the haptic feedback. Dream Eater sequences, in which you hack into a suspect’s mind to piece together clues or look for information, are a mainstay of the Observer experience. When you are preparing to dive into a subject’s mind, the DualSense wireless controller feeds you long anticipatory pulses as the cable draws near, followed by a sharp vibration at the moment of entry. Lastly, we want players to jump in the tense moments during Dream Eater sequences, such as when they’re attacked. At the moment of impact, your DualSense controller’s vibration will surely get your heart racing. We like to think of the DualSense wireless controller as an additional way to tell the story. If you’re in a dark room and suddenly you can feel subtle vibrations and pulses coming from the controller, it heightens the mood and adds to the atmosphere. Subconsciously, you start thinking “What’s about to happen here?” That question helps build the tension that horror fans crave. Similarly, in more action-packed scenes – like when running from a monster and a stuck door isn’t going to open – you’ll feel that, thanks to haptic feedback. You literally can feel the danger on your skin. It’s amazingly scary! PlayStation 5’s features are hugely helpful for all games. 60FPS isn’t just great for shooters: System Redux’s 60FPS helps solidify the fear of our psychological horror. What we were particularly interested in were the fast loading times enabled by the PS5’s SDD which let us create scenarios that aren’t cut up by loading screens or level design elements that funnel players into areas like elevators and corridors to mask loading. In System Redux, you’re no longer left waiting for a door to open. I don’t know if we’ve gone too far with this horror experience, but all the work we’ve done with these features has given us some amazing ideas for the future. We’re excited to see longtime fans of Observer and players new to the story experience everything Observer: System Redux has to offer when we launch November 12 on PlayStation 5. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/sx8N5QE2XtEView the full article

Hello everyone, Jason here with the latest scoop regarding Genshin Impact’s first version update! But before we jump in, I would like to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude for the incredible support we’ve received from the Genshin Impact community. We were absolutely blown away by the excitement and enthusiasm surrounding the game during its release. Our team has been busy collecting community feedback, making adjustments, and preparing an amazing first wave of new content for the game. Today, we’re here to give you the official lowdown of the Genshin Impact Version 1.1 update, which is available for download today! Play Video New characters enter the fray In Version 1.1, we will be introducing a total of four new characters for Travelers to collect, each featuring a unique personality and new skills to add to the mix. Without further ado, let’s take a look at who will be joining us in the latest update. First on our list is the incredibly popular bartender at the Cat’s Tail tavern, Diona! Don’t let her playful character and fluffy ears fool you, her Cryo-infused cocktails will leave her enemies with some serious brain freeze. Diona can engage enemies from afar by charging her attack and shooting Cryo-imbued arrows, or she can pounce into close quarters using her shield to protect herself from opponents’ attacks. Finally, she can clear the floor with her Elemental Burst, dealing Cryo damage to enemies in an area while regenerating HP for characters in the area as well. We’re sure she’ll be a purrfect addition to any party. Get ready to take the stage with Xinyan, a girl dedicated to blazing riffs that rock both the audience’s and her enemies’ worlds. Her claymore’s heavy strikes and her Pyro skills will leave opponents smoldering in her wake. Xinyan’s Elemental Skill allows her to swing her flaming instrument at nearby enemies, dealing Pyro damage and forming a shield made out of her audience’s passion. She can then follow up with an encore by unleashing her Elemental Burst, launching nearby enemies, dealing Physical damage to them, and causing explosions that deal Pyro damage. Her show is guaranteed to leave the audience on fire! Next, get ready to stir up trouble with number eleven of The Harbingers himself, Childe. This character is never one to back down from a fight and is guaranteed to make some waves with his unique arsenal of Hydro skills. His combat style is flexible and fluid as liquid, as he summons weapons made of pure water, allowing him to battle from afar with his bow or up close with his watery blades. To sweep more stubborn enemies away, Childe can unleash his Elemental Burst, dealing massive Hydro damage with either a magic arrow or slashing swords. This is definitely one comrade that you’ll be thankful to have on your side. Last but not least, we have the consultant to the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, Zhongli! Calm and composed as a solid stone, this character seems to be full of wisdom, and secrets… His command of earth and rock allow him to brandish stone polearms while summoning massive Geo constructs that plunge into the earth, dealing Geo damage. However, Zhongli reveals his true potential in his Elemental Burst, which brings a falling star down to earth, dealing massive Geo damage to opponents and petrifying them. Faced with Zhongli’s masterful command of the Geo element, opponents will truly find themselves between a rock and a hard place! Be sure to check out the characters in-game via the new Character Archive for complete details on each of their skills and related effects. New battles and stories await As the plot in Liyue Harbor continues to unravel and the story reaches its crescendo, Travelers will find themselves squaring off against new opponents and facing epic battles along the way. A good adventurer never sets out without proper preparations, so best be ready for what may come… Archive your progress – New Exploration and Reputation features Exploration is the heart of Genshin Impact, and in Version 1.1 we will be introducing some new features to help players review their exploration progress. First off, we have the Archive. Here, Travelers will be able to check different areas they have discovered throughout their journey, view which weapons and materials they have (or haven’t) collected, and even review tutorials of various game mechanics. The Archive will be perfect for any completionist Travelers who wish to explore and collect everything possible in Teyvat. Next, we have the City Reputation system, which will allow Travelers to accept Reputation quests in Mondstadt and Liyue. Completing these quests will increase Travelers’ reputation in the corresponding city and reward them with blueprints for useful gadgets. New events In addition to new characters and features, Version 1.1 will also come jam-packed with new events for Travelers to challenge and put their adventure skills to the test. Unreconciled Stars will be the featured event for Version 1.1 and will begin on November 16. Travelers will team up with Fischl and Mona in an all-new storyline to investigate mysterious meteorites that have been falling through the skies of Teyvat. It is up to Travelers to search out the meteorites and discover what is behind these stars falling from the sky. Some prefer to walk, others prefer to glide. In Version 1.1’s new Gliding Challenge, Travelers will be able to put their gliding skills to the test and earn generous rewards along the way. Take to the skies, Travelers! After a long day of adventuring, nothing’s more convenient than ordering some delivery food. In the While It’s Warm event, Travelers will lend a helping hand to deliver piping hot dishes to customers across Teyvat. But be careful, these tasty dishes mustn’t be spoiled along the way. Race against time and meet the specified conditions to carefully deliver dishes to hungry customers. Your speedy delivery service certainly won’t go unrewarded! New Weapon Event Wish In addition to new characters, a slew of new weapons will be arriving with Version 1.1 for Travelers to equip on their favorite fighters. This weapon grants its wielder a hefty bonus to CRIT damage, as well as a chance of dealing Physical damage in a small area. Both of these amazing weapons will be featured in Version 1.1! PlayStation 5 compatibility With the release of PS5 just on the horizon, our team has been working to ensure that Genshin Impact will be fully backwards compatible with the new console. A compatibility update will be available at the release of Version 1.1, featuring 60 FPS gameplay and all the other great features currently supported in the PS4 version. Hey Chefs! Today, we’re really excited to tell you that Overcooked! All You Can Eat will be a launch title for PlayStation 5! To get you hungry for the culinary delights to come, we want to share a delicious helping of info on the awesome DualSense wireless controller features that we are implementing. PS5 players will not only experience Overcooked in beautiful 4K at 60FPS with all new Trophies to earn, but also enjoy loads of cool new DualSense features. For Overcooked! AYCE we looked at how best to implement the lightbar, the touchpad, the built-in mic and also for cool and exciting ways to use the DualSense wireless controller’s directional haptic feedback. We’re really happy with what we’ve come up with and we think fans will be too! Let’s take a tour: Lightbar When playing Overcooked! All You Can Eat cooperatively with friends, your light bar will match the colour indicator of the chef you are playing. So, player one is red, player two is blue and so on. When playing versus, the lightbar will indicate the colour of your team. Touchpad The touchpad will be used to quick select emotes from the emote wheel. So whether you’re communicating effectively with your fellow chefs, or cursing them, your option will be just a swipe away! Speaker The in-built controller speaker offers up an awesome opportunity to further amplify the chaos of the kitchen. The beeping of a burning recipe, the dreaded alert for a failed order and the round timer will all play using the controller speaker as well as the in-game audio. Double the panic! Haptic feedback The haptic feedback system in the DualSense wireless controller offers a whole new level of immersion to Overcooked. Imagine not only being able to see and hear as your food burns but feel it. The horror! Cooking and Environmental Indicators The haptic feedback will not only tell players when something is happening, but also where. Players will be able to tell which side of the kitchen the action is happening by feeling for which side of the controller the vibrations occur. It may be all calm on one side of the kitchen but if a pan is on fire on the other side, your DualSense wireless controller will tell you (it’s okay, we know it wasn’t your fault). The vibration will also match the in-game audio, giving you indicators for: Cooking Warning Fire Ignition Food Ready Recipe Time Out Level Timer Countdown Successful Delivery Wrong Order Catch Rat Smack! (Yes, the rats are back!) It’s been great fun exploring the new options offered by the power of PlayStation 5 and the DualSense wireless controller, and we’re really excited for players to get their hands on the most immersive version of Overcooked! yet. You can’t escape the chaos of the kitchen when you’re holding it in your hands! Happy cooking! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/NQ2DrisJitsView the full article

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales has been a colossal collaborative effort between all of us here at Insomniac Games, PlayStation and Marvel Games as we deliver Miles’s first starring role in a video game and bring his world to life on the PS5 console and PS4. Telling the story of Miles Morales rising to the challenge of becoming his own Spider-Man has been an incredible honor and great responsibility for us. We know Miles is a stylish teenager from Brooklyn who has just moved to Harlem. In the beginning of the game he has designed his own Spider Suit out of sportswear, everyday clothing he loves to wear. But it wouldn’t be a Spider-Man suit without some serious drip, and Miles needed some killer sneakers to complete the look. As you sneakerheads can attest, a huge part of being yourself is the style you slip onto your feet. Enter our friends from adidas. Insomniac, PlayStation, and Marvel Games worked in close collaboration with adidas to create new sneakers for Miles to wear in game. We knew right away that we wanted to honor the adidas Superstar sneakers on their 50th anniversary. It’s a classic design, connected to New York, and quintessentially adidas. We chose to exhibit the timeless colors for which he’s most known: the black suit with the red spider icon. You’ll see Miles wear both the Hi-Top and Low-Top Superstar silhouettes in the game with select suits. Here’s a look: And of course, we also knew all along we wanted to make these shoes exist in the real world. Fortunately, adidas agreed, and thanks to the partnership with Marvel in collaboration with PlayStation, adidas will be offering a limited run of adidas originals, the Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Superstar! The Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Superstar sneakers will release in the US, Canada, and select markets in the Asia-Pacific region on November 19th. For select European markets, shoes will release on December 4. For all the info on how to buy the ultimate fresh kicks, head to www.adidas.com/marvel. That’s all for now – this has been an exciting partnership for all of us, and it’s amazing to see the in-game shoes in real life. We can’t wait for you to play on November 12, 2020. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/8xCptsrWlsgView the full article
