  1. The gates have officially opened for Neverwinter on PS4! Step foot into the Forgotten Realms to begin your adventure through ancient cities, sweeping fields, and fiery mountains. Before you get your hands on our free-to-play MMORPG, we thought we would share five facts about Neverwinter for the PlayStation.Blog readership. 1.) It’s completely free to play!Neverwinter is free to play for all PS4 players –PlayStation Plus is not required! This means that all nine expansions and eight classes are yours to explore. All you need to do is head to PlayStation Store and download Neverwinter in order to begin your adventure. Launching free on PS4 also means that future content including our tenth expansion will launch for free on PS4. Every account is also offered two free character slots, which means you don’t have to stick with one class if another piques your interest. Everything you see in-game can be obtained with in-game currency giving a true free-to-play MMORPG experience. You won’t find another game like Neverwinter! 2.) Free Electric Tiger mount and PlayStation Plus CosmeticsIn celebration of our launch, all adventurers can obtain a free Electric Tiger mount, which is exclusive to PS4. Simply complete the tutorial and head to the Rewards Claim Agent near the top of Protector’s Enclave. This electrifying feline increases your mounted movement speed by 50%. Though named as such, this magically-altered beast cannot actually conduct electricity, meaning you’ll be safe and sound around it. In addition to the free mount, we are also giving PlayStation Plus members a free fashion and emote pack! 3.) Are you a Dungeons & Dragons fan?If you’re a fantasy fan, you’ve probably heard of Dungeons & Dragons and perhaps partaken in a campaign yourself. Neverwinter, a city in the Forgotten Realms, is based off of the D&D franchise from Wizards of the Coast. You’ll even meet fan-favorite characters such as Drizzt Do’Urden, Minsc & Boo, Elminster Aumar, and many more. We have also teamed up with Wizards of the Coast to bring unique storylines to Neverwinter that follow their pen and paper RPG. If you’ve played some of their latest expansions, including Tyranny of Dragons and Rage of Demons, you’ll find several familiar faces and storylines within our game. We even had acclaimed author R.A. Salvatore write an entire quest line exclusively for Neverwinter! 4.) Leveling Your CharactersBeing a continuously changing MMORPG means you’re about to walk into a ton of content in Neverwinter. One question that we’ve been asked before is: what is the best way to level your adventurer? As you play through Neverwinter, you’ll encounter our main story arc, which we highly recommend playing for maximum XP gains… and some Trophies, of course. In addition to that, we’d also recommend using systems like professions once you hit level 10 to find additional means of gathering small chunks of XP. Finally, gathering a group of friends, starting a guild, and building up your Strongholds will give you even more quest options as you push your way to the level 70 cap. 5.) Don’t Forget to QueuePlaying through Neverwinter will bring you all over the Sword Coast from the Blacklake District all the way to Icewind Dale. One thing we highly recommend you do along your adventures is queue for our dungeons, skirmishes, and PvP matches. At the beginning stages of your character building, these queues will give you loot needed to help you tackle some of the new zones. Once you’ve hit level cap, the dungeon and PvP queues will help you get the best loot in the game as you maximize your character’s potential. We will also have large group queues that will be available at launch including a 25-person raid against the five-headed dragon queen, Tiamat. Band your friends together and tackle some of the most fearsome monsters in the Dungeons & Dragons franchise. Those are just five quick tips for our massive MMORPG. Have more questions? Ask them below in the comments and we’ll try to answer as much as we can. Look forward to seeing you all in Neverwinter! View the full article
  2. Today we can unveil the digital release date for Batman – The Telltale Series, along with this world premiere trailer that’ll give you your very first look at the game in motion, and a taste of what you can expect from the season. Episode 1: ‘Realm of Shadows’ will be available digitally worldwide starting Tuesday August 2nd for PS4 and PS3. In case you missed the announcement last week, the series will also be available to purchase at retailers starting September 13th in North America as a special Season Pass Disc, which will include the first of five episodes in the season, and will grant access to the subsequent four episodes as they become available for download via online updates. The series will then be available to purchase at retailers across Europe on September 16th. How is Telltale’s vision of Batman unique? For a start, the series is equally as much about the man behind the mask as it is about Batman himself. In this game, you’ll enter the fractured psyche of Bruce Wayne and discover the powerful and far-reaching consequences of your choices as the Dark Knight. It’s a gritty and violent new story in which you’ll make discoveries that will shatter Bruce Wayne’s world, and the already fragile stability of a corrupt Gotham City. You may well recognize many of the voices in the game, as the series features an award-winning cast of talent, including Troy Baker in the role of Bruce Wayne, Travis Willingham as Harvey Dent, Erin Yvette as Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel as Alfred Pennyworth, Murphy Guyer as Lieutenant James Gordon, Richard McGonagle as Carmine Falcone, and Laura Bailey as Selina Kyle. Can you tell we’re big fans of Uncharted? Thanks for reading, and as ever, do let us know your thoughts in the comments below! We’re beyond excited to share this peek at the upcoming season with you. Don’t miss that trailer, and look for more news on the series soon – there’ll be much more in the next couple of weeks leading up to the premiere on August 2nd! View the full article

  4. Hi everyone! Back in April, our team at Team Ninja released the Alpha Demo of Nioh to give you the first glimpse into the game world. In just 10 days, more than 850,000 gamers around the world took up the challenge and we collected valuable feedback through an online survey. Team Ninja has read through the feedback and is working on improvements to the game. Today, we’re happy to reveal that the second downloadable demo will be available to download and play via PlayStation Store starting August 23 until September 6! After this period, download and play of the demo will be disabled. With the Beta demo more of the rewarding (yet dangerous) gameplay from the Alpha will be present. A new dojo stage will feature an intense training session which teaches the basics of Nioh’s samurai combat system. Players will also be able to explore a yet-to-be-announced stage. A selection of new katana, spears, axes, and hammers will be available to collect to uniquely suit a player’s gameplay style. Players will also be able to add a few new weapons to their arsenal as well. Nioh follows the tale of William Adams as he travels to Japan and becomes a samurai. Players will discover a deep and enticing world that blends history and Japanese folklore. The tough gameplay pits players against daunting and overpowering creatures, and encourages them to learn their enemies’ tactics to gain the advantage in battle. The protagonist, William, is not alone against the perilous Yokai, as he will be accompanied by a diverse cast of characters who will aid him on his travels across Japan. Hanzo Hattori, the head of a famous ninja clan, is William’s guide through the country. Ginchiyo Tachibana (wife of Muneshige, the head of the Tachibana clan) will also help William on his quest with her skilled fighting abilities. Scheduled for launch in 2016, Nioh is in development exclusively for PS4. View the full article
  5. Hey everyone! We’re happy to announce Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked is getting ready to set sail into the wild waters of PlayStation! In our first announcement we had estimated an ambiguous target of “spring.†We know lots of people have been patiently waiting and wondering where it is (Especially since it’s summer now…). Well, we’re able to confirm that the wait is almost over and on August 2 it will hit PlayStation Store with a 10% launch discount! With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of five useful tips to help you survive treacherous waters and craft your own island paradise — assuming your idea of paradise includes hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, poop flinging Prime Apes, vicious Tiger Sharks, and trying not to starve. 1.) Beware of Mutinies Don’t be fooled by their cute, vacant faces — monkeys aren’t your mates, “first†or otherwise. These adorable thieving scoundrels are just itching to get their lil’ hands on your hard-won goods, so remember, it’s “finders keepers†’round these parts… unless you can find something to keep them occupied. 2.) Don’t Feed the Quacken It’s best to not go trawling for trouble, but if you do choose to face off against this deepsea behemoth, you’ll have do so on his turf. Pack your sails and ready yourself for terror on high seas. (And be warned, his screech is as bad as his bite.) 3.) Always Wear a Lifejacket Remember, safety first! The sea itself may prove to be one of your worst enemies out here, and it’s best to come prepared. Craft a cozy life jacket and you might narrowly avoid a watery grave if you happen to find yourself overboard. When it’s sink or swim, we recommend the latter. 4.) Appease the Volcano There are few things more dangerous than an angry volcano, and you won’t want to get on this one’s bad side. Offer your finest odds and ends to the fiery titan at the Altar of Snackrifice and you might just stave off its wrath. For a while, anyway. 5.) Don’t Starve! With tons of new ingredients and tasty dishes including lobster dinners, seafood gumbo, and even dried jellyfish jerky, there are now dozens more foods for you to daydream about as you waste away on your own scorching archipelago. With these survival essentials under your belt you’re one step closer to conquering the tropical unknown. We’re really excited for the PS4 community to experience Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked on August 2. We look forward to hearing all about your harrowing tales of nautical misadventures. Keep those bellies full, and happy sailing! View the full article
  6. Hello everyone. This is Kumagai from Tokyo RPG Factory. I am the director of the English and PC versions of I Am Setsuna. I am extremely honored to have the opportunity to talk about the game on its release. I Am Setsuna is the very first game to come out of “Project Setsuna,†which was started with the idea of using current technology to replicate the engrossing JRPGs from the 90’s — the golden age of the genre. The concept we sought to express through the game’s story is setsunai, an emotion unique to the Japanese language. The game tells the story of a young woman by the name of Setsuna, who decides to become a sacrifice to restore the peaceful lives of the people, and her subsequent journey through the bitter snow. When her journey towards her own death comes to an end, what the player feels is the setsunai emotion that we wanted to convey. The game has a unique battle system and customizable elements. The battle system is based on Active Time Battle, but has its own twist. Weapons and items can be customized for upgrades, and by combining with other equipment, the player can take advantage of different skills and effects in battle. The music in the game is composed mainly on the piano, adding another layer of depth to the game’s world. The main story can be completed in 20 to 30 hours. You can, of course, keep grinding after completion, but before that, I hope you reach the end of the story and experience the emotion of setsunai. I Am Setsuna is the first release from Tokyo RPG Factory. I hope you stay tuned to our activities in the future. Thank you for your support. View the full article
  7. Hi everyone! We just announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration will launch on PS4 October 11. We’re thrilled to share this news with you. When we were planning the PS4 version of Rise of the Tomb Raider, our very first imperative was to outdo anything we’d done before, such as our definitive editions. A mere “Game of the Year†wouldn’t satisfy us, or our fans. We knew that our PlayStation community both deserved and demanded more than that. So we’re working with our long-time partner Nixxes Software to make this version truly special. First, whenever we ask you what DLC you’re interested in, “new story†is number one on the wish list. Talking it over with our Franchise Creative Director, Noah Hughes, he immediately turned to a franchise favorite: Croft Manor. While shown previously only in cutscenes in the campaign of Rise of the Tomb Raider, the Manor represents more than just a place. It is Lara’s legacy. It’s an incredibly important part of her story and the franchise, and like many of you we have fond memories of it from the classic games. So we’re excited to introduce the all-new “Blood Ties†chapter, which will let you explore Croft Manor and unlock its mysteries in a new story mode, then defend it against an undead invasion in “Lara’s Nightmare.†The Manor also offered a great opportunity for us to investigate the possibilities with cutting edge VR technology. So for the first time in franchise history, you’ll be able to play “Blood Ties†in first-person through Lara’s eyes! Next, we’re adding a new online co-op expansion to Endurance mode. You and a friend can team up to raid tombs and battle for the longest survival run to stay at the top of the leaderboards. To celebrate Tomb Raider releases through the years, you can outfit Lara with a re-envisioned version of the cold-weather outfit and the Hailstorm pistol that was featured in Tomb Raider III. In addition, a special card pack will allow you to replay the main story with five classic Lara models. You won’t believe your eyes when you see the original low-poly Lara model in glorious high fidelity Rise of the Tomb Raider cutscenes. For our hardcore fans, we’ve added a brutal new “Extreme Survivor†setting, which increases the difficulty and strips out all of the checkpoints. The only way to save your game is to forage enough resources to light campfires and survive from one to the next! Finally, along with Endurance mode, all previously released DLC will be included, such as the three hour story addition Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch, and the Cold Darkness Awakened pack which forces you to combat waves of infected predators. Not to mention all of the outfits, all of the weapons, and a ton of Expedition Cards. You receive everything in one package! We can’t think of a better way to celebrate with all Tomb Raider fans, and to thank you for being on Lara’s 20 year journey with us. We’re excited to share more details on the new content in the coming months as we gear up for the launch of Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration on October 11! See you online in Endurance mode! View the full article
  8. Hello, PlayStation fans! Gravity Rush 2 stunned E3 visitors with an action-packed hands-on demo featuring a glimpse at the game’s massive, intricately-detailed environments, and expanded, gravity-defying action. Today I’m excited to announce that Gravity Rush 2 will be dropping (no pun intended) this year on December 2. Those who pre-order the game from participating retailers will receive alternate white costume DLC for Kat, as well as the Select Soundtrack featuring nine tracks from the game. Pre-Order on PlayStation Store‎ starting August 2 and get an instant reward of 10 PSN avatars from the game. I’m also happy to announce that prior to the launch of Gravity Rush 2, we will be releasing a brand new anime called Gravity Rush The Animation ~ Overture ~ which bridges the gap between the original Gravity Rush and the sequel. This anime is being produced by Studio Khara, best known for their work on Rebuild of Evangelion. We’ll have more to share about the anime prior to launch. Gravity Rush 2 marks the return of gravity shifters Kat and Raven (now a powerful ally), ex-cop Syd, and introduces a bevy of new characters. The first new face to join the expansive world of Gravity Rush 2 is the mysterious guardian angel, who shows up to help Kat when she’s in a bind, quickly dispensing of a group of pesky Nevi enemies. Angel is a superheroine with an aggressive and wild fighting style, and packs an overwhelming punch to her attacks. She also has a crystallization ability that helps her to regenerate health instantly. Check out Angel’s abilities in the new gameplay trailer! And in case you missed our chat with Creative Director Keiichiro Toyama at E3, be sure to read the interview here, and stay tuned to PlayStation.Blog for more information! View the full article
  9. After playing two hours of a near-final build of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, I can say with confidence that it comes the closest to matching the singularly special original. That’s the highest praise I can give. Mankind Divided layers on the expected modern niceties, of course. There’s a sizeable arsenal of weapons, from nonlethal shock pistols to combat shotguns and battle rifles. You can swap between specialized weapon mods mid-battle, à la Crysis, to add armor-piercing rounds, scopes, and more. There’s also a helpful visual enhancement augmentation that’s a mere L1 press away. It highlights nearby threats, shortcuts, and item pickups, reducing the guesswork in navigating the game’s sprawling, multi-level cyberpunk cityscapes. Multiple controller layouts are available, including one that more closely emulates the layout of 2011’s Human Revolution, and one that’s geared towards helping speed runs. Much like the 2000 original, Mankind Divided tightly intertwines different genres and play styles. Are you a Rainbow Six purist? You’ll love the broad tactical FPS combat options. Splinter Cell fan? The strong stealth possibilities will impress you. Mass Effect devotee? Get ready for the deepest character building and branching dialogue choices this side of the Citadel. Fallout fiend? You’ll love the ability to influence the narrative and act like a jerk if you want to. I could go on — Mankind Divided, like the best Deus Ex games, truly offers something for everyone. It’s all in how you choose to play. And then there’s the narrative itself, a byzantine behemoth of social commentary, conspiracy theory, and old-school speculative fiction. What would happen if society discriminated between “naturals†and the augmented, who are equipped with artificial arms, legs, or organs? The team behind Mankind Divided thinks the resulting conflict would look eerily familiar. One surreal sequence set in Prague played like a highly evolved game of Papers, Please. Most of the unmodified, “natural†NPCs I encountered mistrusted or even disparaged me, simply because protagonist Adam Jensen is augmented — a “clank.†It was an unnerving and dehumanizing ordeal, but it firmly planted me in the game’s universe. I’m betting all that societal strife pays off nicely in the final game. Mankind Divided comes out on PS4 August 23 and it looks promising, and unique. If you’ve got questions, leave ’em below — I’ll set aside some time today to shed more light on what I can. View the full article
  10. 10 Second Ninja X is a blisteringly fast platformer where you’re a Ninja destroying robots in less than 10 seconds. Try, fail, repeat. Try, fail, repeat. Try a bit better, fail, repeat. You get the idea. It’s a game about finding the fastest routes and getting the best times possible. It’s frantic, challenging and very rewarding. We’ve been inspired by games like Super Meat Boy and OlliOlli, trying to create a game where every single frame of movement feels deliberate and satisfying. Any failure, missed jump, or abrupt death feels fair. The gameplay in 10 Second Ninja X is the result of almost five years of polish and I hope that you can feel that refinement every moment that you’re playing. However, there’s only so much that we as developers can do to help you, so here are some basic lessons to get you started with how 10 Second Ninja X works. Your Ninja may only have a few moves, but they unlock a lot of options. You can jump, double-jump, throw a shuriken, or get up close with your sword. The enemies — robot servants of the curmudgeonly Captain Greatbeard — are your targets. It might look like they’re just sitting there, itching for your sword, but your surroundings may tell a different story. Spikes and lasers wait to destroy the unskilled, and the robots themselves can have defenses. A well placed shuriken will rip through their aura of death and right through the circuits of the robot inside. Try not to be distracted by the cool explosion; it’ll cost you precious milliseconds in the level. Jumping is not a ninja’s only method of traversal. Some levels feature the grappling hook. This device may look like an unassuming bit of background decoration, but trigger it and you’ll be rocketed across the level and (hopefully) right into the faces of your unprepared enemies. Stuff like the grappling hook can also be combined with other tools littered around levels for skilled players to really speed up their runs. Not everyone you’ll meet in 10 Second Ninja wants you dead. Captain Greatbeard’s own crew may be ardent admirers of your ninja skills. Spending time with them can unlock secrets, mini-games, and more. This is just a taste of what you’ll need to beat 10 Second Ninja X, but I believe in you! 10 Second Ninja launches on PS4 and PS Vita on July 19 — that’s tomorrow! Oh god! View the full article
  11. Uncharted 4, Dark Souls 3, Overwatch, Hitman, Doom, Ratchet & Clank… it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of must-play titles that have been released this year. With so many blockbuster games chomping hungrily at your free time, it’s only natural that some lower profile gems might have passed you by in the first half of 2016. Thankfully, the summer sun brings with it a slight reprieve, with the launch calendar traditionally quieting down before the big pre-Christmas rush. So, what better time to catch up on some of those titles that you might have missed? If you’ve been struggling to keep up, don’t fret – check out our run down of some of 2016’s best ‘hidden gems’ so far and see if there are any you’ve yet to pick up. Firewatch In-game story-telling rarely gets more deep or involving than Firewatch. The sumptuous design and carefully woven web of intrigue made it a sleeper hit at the outset of 2016 and truly bowled over its small development team. What’s to miss? A worthy demonstration of just how varied and interesting gaming experiences can be. Alienation Standout titles like Super Stardust, Dead Nation and Resogun have secured Finnish developers Housemarque a reputation for peerless arcade shooting. Its latest release, Alienation, adds loot and progression systems to the winning formula to deliver an experience just as rewarding as it is thoroughly enjoyable. What’s to miss? Some of the most seamless and satisfying twin-stick gunplay you’re ever likely to encounter. Unravel Little Yarny came out of nowhere this year and stole our hearts. With stunning art direction, ingenuous puzzles and deceptively deep themes, Unravel truly bridges that gap between games and art. What’s to miss? Sweden’s stunning east coast – it provided much of the inspiration for Unravel’s beautiful environments. Dirt Rally In a generation that has seen very little of the once-loved rally genre, DiRT Rally was a welcome breath of fresh air this spring. A true simulator in every sense, it pushes driving skill far beyond casual weekend racing. What’s to miss? One of PS4’s most perilous, punishing and hard core driving experiences. Gravity Rush Remastered A combination of Japanese animation and French bandes dessinées comics, Gravity Rush delivered a truly unique send-up of the classic superhero story. Its enduring popularity saw it remastered for PS4 this year and it’s never looked or played better. What’s to miss? One-of-a-kind gameplay mechanics that let you turn the world – quite literally – upside down. Salt and Sanctuary The legendary Dark Souls series is perhaps one of the most widely imitated in recent years. Few though pass muster with their progenitors quite as well as Salt and Sanctuary. A 2D take on Hidetaki Miyazaki’s much-loved formula, it maintains that magical cocktail of brutal combat, brooding atmosphere and endless exploration. What’s to miss? The kind of sprawling level design we’ve not seen in a 2D side-scroller since the halcyon days of Metroid and Castlevania. Trackmania Turbo Over-the-top arcade racers seem to be enjoying something of a revival this year and Trackmania Turbo is leading the charge. A cult hit on PC, it vaulted the ramp across to PS4 earlier this year and garnered heaps of critical praise in the process. What’s to miss? A dedicated online community ready to rip you a new one in their rocket-powered buggies. Enter the Gungeon It doesn’t get more edge-of-the-seat in gaming terms than trying to stay alive in the ‘Gungeon’. Like all rogue-likes, when you’re dead, you’re dead, but never will death feel closer than in the unremitting bullet-hell of Enter the Gungeon. What’s to miss? Some of the most interesting and bizarre ‘guns’ you’ve ever come across in a game – ‘junk mail’ gun, anybody? Invisible Inc. While most rogue-likes stand or fall on raw action, developers Klei Entertainment shook the genre up last year with Invisible Inc. Plumbing for turn-based stealth gameplay and sleek, moody presentation, they sired themselves a critical hit that snuck its way on PS4 this April. What’s to miss? Deep tactical mechanics and procedural generation offer Invisible Inc. almost limitless replayability. The Escapists: The Walking Dead Earlier this year, developers Team 17 cunningly combined their pixel-art escape-‘em-up The Escapists with TV horror phenomenon The Walking Dead. The result? An ingeniously strategic and yet entirely faithful re-treading of the original comic book timeline, all brought to life with charming 8-bit panache. What’s to miss? Perpetual tough guy Officer Rick Grimes is a pixelized munchkin – who doesn’t want to see that? This War of Mine: The Little Ones Developers 11 Bit Studios set a sombre tone back in January with the addition of youngsters to its arresting and quietly political strategy game This War of Mine. Pressing home the everyday horror and desperation of human conflict, This War of Mine – The Little Ones traverses the murky intersection between video games and philosophy with remarkable candour. What’s to miss? A game that challenges not just your skill as a gamer, but also the way you think. Shadow of the Beast Cult Amiga hit Shadow of the Beast got a timely update earlier this year, exclusively for PS4. Rammed with Easter eggs and call-backs, the remake is not just a great action-platformer in its own right, but a humbling celebration of the modern industry’s colourful heritage. What’s to miss? Crazy amounts of unlockables, including original artwork, soundtracks and even a PS4 emulation of the original Amiga game. The Banner Saga & The Banner Saga 2 January saw the long-awaited PS4 release of Kickstarter sensation The Banner Saga and just this month the release of its sequel, The Banner Saga 2. Boasting beautiful hand-drawn artwork, a cavalcade of memorable characters and complex branching narratives, both games have been met with praise from both fans and critics alike. What’s to miss? The pure passion of three developers who quit their jobs in the mainstream to make games they really loved. I Am Setsuna Evoking the classic design and story-telling philosophy of yesteryear’s most beloved RPGs, I am Setsuna finally hits European shores next week. Granted, you’ve not yet had a chance to miss it, but with the stunning soundtrack and nostalgia-tingling top-down exploration, you really won’t want to. What’s to miss? The kind of party combat and storytelling that kindles fond memories of Chrono Trigger and classic Final Fantasy titles. The Witness This long-awaited puzzler from Braid developer Jonathan Blow wore its singleness of vision with pride, bucking modern gaming trends with a simplicity that was mind-bogglingly deceptive. Constantly reinventing their own simple rule-set, the geometric puzzles slowly unearth a far deeper and more meditative side the game. What’s to miss? A cerebral challenge that will make you feel dim-witted in one moment and like an absolute genius in the next. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy Transferring the open-world exploration and combat of the Assassin’s Creed series into a more linear side-scrolling experience was a risky, but ultimately rewarding challenge. Comprising three unique adventures against historic backdrops in China, Russia and India, the trilogy puts a fresh twist on the Assassin’s Creed experience. What’s to miss? Sleek, stylistic design work that evokes the colour and character of each historic location, not just in the world design but in the gameplay too. Valkyria Chronicles Remastered Releasing in 2009, Valkyria Chronicles is by no means a ‘new game’, but with buffed HD, visuals, near-flawless performance and all the original add-ons thrown into boot, this cult classic has never been available in such a complete or compelling package. What’s to miss? A true gem of the last generation – its stylistic presentation remains as impressive today as at release. Sheltered Intense, deep and challenging, Sheltered demands players be both ruthless and indiscriminate in a way few other games dare. Simple but skin-crawlingly atmospheric, its desperate highs are matched only by its crushing lows. What’s to miss? A rare intensity that will bring out a sense of grim determination in even the most casual players. Prison Architect Console Edition Acting as architect and chief administrator of a penal facility might not seem like the most obvious premise for an addictive gameplay loop, but Prison Architect is only too happy to take those assumptions to task. Devilishly difficult to put down, the Console Edition retains all the depth and freedom of its PC counterpart. What’s to miss? A game where, refreshingly, the main objective is actually to keep the bad guys happy. Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir Developer Vanillaware has breathed new life into this PS2 classic. With a full HD rebuff and a range of tweaks to the original gameplay, Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir offers the chance to experience much-loved but overlooked title on new, more powerful hardware. What’s to miss? The second outing of an over-looked gem that arrived late in the PlayStation 2 life cycle and missed out on the attention it deserved. Guity Gear Xrd – Revelator Quietly tossing its hat into the fighting-game ring just last month, the newest edition in the long-running Guilty Gear franchise brings its trademark characters, modes and best-in-class 2D animation to PlayStation 4. What’s to miss? One of the most critically lauded fighting games of the generation. Downwell Eschewing pretty pixels in favour of tight, responsive controls, Downwell exemplifies the modern revival in ‘gameplay is king’ design philosophy. Fast-paced, challenging and ultimately addictive it harkens back to a bygone gaming age. What’s to miss? Some of the rawest, rapid-fire rogue-like action to be encountered on any system. 12. It’s been an incredible weekend at EVO 2016 so far with the largest fighting game tournament in the world delivering some unbelievable moments from the best players from all over the globe. The action is far from over as the Street Fighter V finals are set to go live tonight at 7:00pm Pacific Time! On top of all the amazing matches we’ve seen throughout the weekend, there was also a ton of exciting news to come from the event. PlayStation and Capcom announced a new partnership with PS4 being the presenting sponsor of the Capcom Pro Tour! The Capcom Pro Tour has seen astounding growth over the past few years with the first six-figure check being awarded to the winner of Capcom Cup 2015. Now, both PlayStation and Capcom are doubling down in 2016 to accelerate the growth of the fighting game community with this new partnership. A large component of this partnership is the newly announced Capcom Pro Tour-themed DLC for Street Fighter V, which features new premium costumes for Chun-Li and Cammy, an additional mystery costume and the official stage of the CPT called the “Ring of Destiny.†With the PS4 being the official console of the Capcom Pro Tour, we’ve also put together an exclusive bundle that includes the three costumes, the stage, plus and an additional color for all 22 characters and two new titles. This is an exclusive, limited-time offer where the proceeds from the DLC will be reinvested back into the Capcom Pro Tour and help boost the prize pool of Capcom Cup 2016 based on the number of downloads. While Capcom will always continue to invest into the Capcom Pro Tour, this is a great way for fans to show their support of the league and be part of history as we’ll have the largest prize payout in fighting game history at Capcom Cup 2016 with the support of the fans. We’ll have even more announcements in the future, including the upcoming mystery costume that is part of this Capcom Pro Tour DLC collection. This costume will have a large impact on the future of the Capcom Cup and we believe fans we’ll be very excited once we reveal the details. Don’t miss the Street Fighter V finals tonight at 7:00pm Pacific live tonight on twitch.tv/srkevo1 or catch the televised broadcast on ESPN2! Follow @StreetFighter on Twitter for the latest news on the game and @CapcomFighters for information on upcoming events on the Capcom Pro Tour. View the full article
  13. Like a burning knuckle to the face, The King of Fighters XIV caps off its successful showing at EVO 2016 with a special surprise: the game’s demo will launch this Tuesday July 19! With seven playable characters, the demo is just a taste of what awaits with the full 50-character roster when the game arrives on August 23. The King of Fighters XIV marks the first time the series (which has been around since 1994, by the way) has been rendered in 3D. Since seeing is believing, the demo will show you the latest evolution for the franchise. But for long-time fans and newcomers alike, SNK has been taking extra special care to ensure the game is balanced and refined. It’s the best enhancement of the series since KOF ’98, with a complete overhaul to Combos and MAX Mode to make it more approachable for beginners, while remaining the most competitive entry in the history of the series. At its core is the three-on-three team mechanic where players will have to pick their strongest three players from a roster of 50 characters and duke it out until there’s only one team left standing. And to get you ready for the demo on Tuesday, we’ve gone ahead and compiled some tips from our ace play testers for each of the seven characters available in the demo to help you get a head start! Kyo KusanagiStyle: Standard fighter Strengths: Good attack normals, good special attacks, armor properties on some moves, easy combos Weaknesses: no glaring weaknesses Difficulty: 2/5 Notes: For veteran players and newcomers alike, Kyo is a great character to choose. In addition to his old moves returning, he has even more follow-up attacks for his special moves, giving him a lot of threatening new options for offense. Try using the two hits of his command move, 88 Shiki, to react and activate into MAX mode for high damage combos. Standing HP into down-forward HK is a good combo starter. Mai ShiranuiStyle: Zoner, keep opponents at a distance Strengths: Really good normal attacks, excellent EX special attacks in Max Mode Weaknesses: no big combos, low damage Difficulty: 2/5 Notes: Her fan projectile can be used to harass opponents, especially the EX version which will have a follow-up that hits on the way down. To deal with her projectiles, players will eventually have to jump. This easily sets them up to be countered by Mai’s flame-pillar super, Kagerou no Mai. EX Kachousen in Max Mode are excellent tools for pressuring opponents into making mistakes. Her standing HP is a useful tool in most circumstances. Iori YagamiStyle: Standard fighter Strengths: Fast attack normals, decent special attacks, easy combos Weaknesses: no glaring weaknesses Difficulty: 2/5 Notes: Similar to Kyo, players who used Iori previously will feel right at home with his new version — he is an offensive monster when played properly. Try making use of short hops combined with his jumping HP to mount an assault on enemies. Use Max Mode in combos for extreme damage. Forward LP and its follow-up are useful as a combo starter. Sylvie Paula Paula (Series newcomer) Style: Battery, builds meter for team Strengths: Builds power gauge really well, has great EX special attacks in Max Mode Weaknesses: short range attack normals, no big combos outside of cornering opponents Difficulty: 1/5 Notes: Her command list is simple but effective. Use Denki Kaijin, her electricity attack, to poke at enemies and annoy them. Kaiten Coil, her uppercut kick, also makes for a solid anti-air. Her level 3 super, Mechahaya Reboot, is unique in that you can continue your combo after hitting the opponent with it. Use Max Mode outside of combos for access to EX Dischar-Jing (auto-guard properties) and EX Denki Kaijin (crumples opponent for a combo). King of Dinosaurs (Series newcomer) Style: Grappler, goes for big throws Strengths: Good damage on special attacks, good throw mixups Weaknesses: very slow, gets pressured easily, no real combos Difficulty: 3/5 Notes: Like most grapple characters, he is slow at moving around but becomes much more effective at close-range. Having strong patience will pay off the most when using King of Dinosaurs. The HP and EX versions of his Zetsumetsu Hurricane have armor frames, allowing him to absorb attacks up-close and plow through with a powerful command grab. Apply pressure with Ankylo Hammer and use Break to go for Zetsumetsu for the mixup. If backward LP (Yucatan Punch) is landed, he can go into Ankylo Hammer or Climax move for serious damage. Shun’ei (Series newcomer) Style: A mix of Zoner and Combo-heavy Strengths: High damage, excellent EX special attacks in Max Mode, great mobility Weaknesses: Short range attack normals, most special attacks are unsafe Difficulty: 4/5 Notes: This character has powerful EX special moves and is most effective with MAX mode activated. Because of his dependency on meter, however, it may be a good idea to place him on the back of the team so that other characters can build meter for him to use. His air dash grants him unique mobility options never before seen in a KOF game. Primarily uses Max Mode outside of combos for access to big damaging tools. Scarlet Phantom and EX Scarlet Phantom are primary starters and approach tools. Use Thruster Vision to maneuver and throw the opponent off. Nelson (Series newcomer) Style: Command normal chains, chain-heavy Strengths: lots of mixup potential, can pressure the opponent very well Weaknesses: no use for Max Mode, no real combos (uses a chain system) Difficulty: 5/5 Notes: His chain of attacks have a lot of branching pathways, so he’s great for players who like to mix up their offense with unpredictable patterns. When playing as Nelson, try to stick to your opponents and don’t give them a chance to breathe. Nelson should not prioritize meter and is best played as a “battery character†on point position. He can open up the opponent with a lot of high/low mixups. Very difficult character for beginning players to use. Oh, and because every good fighting game needs a villain, here’s a look at the man-mountain behind the King of Fighters tournament, Antonov. With his glorious mutton chops, imposing physical presence, and decidedly awesome champion belt, Antonov is the boss who awaits you as you and your team ascend the ranks of the King of Fighters tournament. Sure, he’s an eccentric billionaire who bought the rights to the King of Fighters brand in order to host a new tournament, and granted, he’s already proclaimed himself the One True King of Fighters, so I guess your only option at this point is to saddle up with the team of your choice and fight like hell to unseat this unhinged giant. 15. We at SNK know how excited fighting game fans are during EVO. To celebrate, together with SIEA Third Party Production, we’re pleased to announce that our next game to hit PlayStation Store will be the legendary Neo Geo classic Garou: Mark of the Wolves on both PS4 and PS Vita — with cross buy support! This upcoming version, developed with Code Mystics, Inc., will once again have cross play functionality and of course online multiplayer as well. 25th Anniversary of the Fatal Fury SeriesSome fans may ask why we’re announcing our latest PlayStation game at this time. When we asked the PlayStation Nation which Neo Geo classic they would like to see most on PSN, there were a huge number of fans who voted for Mark of the Wolves. Additionally, the beloved Fatal Fury series celebrates its 25th anniversary. For the staff here at SNK, there was little hesitation in this decision. Gallery Mode and Sound Test FeaturesBoth the PS4 and PS Vita versions will feature an illustrious Gallery Mode, where you’ll be able to unlock many stunning pieces of Mark of the Wolves and Fatal Fury series art through gameplay. Furthermore, Garou’s original soundtrack will be available to sample in the game menu. We want you to feel the real Garou / Fatal Fury fever along with your memories of the Neo Geo system. High-quality NetcodeFor this title, we at SNK have decided to adopt Code Mystics’ proprietary netcode once again, which was used on our previous Neo Geo classic The Last Blade 2 and received praise from both fans and the press. The team in Vancouver is doing a fantastic job on Garou’s online multiplayer, giving new life to a legendary fighting game classic and ensuring the online gameplay brings SNK fans and series newcomers a great experience similar to the good ol’ days in the arcades. We’ll be sure to come back with more information on Mark of the Wolves and other upcoming releases from SNK. Please stay tuned for more announcements on PlayStation.Blog! View the full article
  16. August of 2015 Activision announced the Call of Duty World League. Just shy of a year later, we are nearing the end of the inaugural year of a dedicated league for Call of Duty, a first for Activision. Since the beginning, PlayStation has been part of this journey with us. Beginning in January 2016, we kicked off our first official matches. Looking ahead to this weekend, it’s hard to believe that the end of the Stage 2 competition is upon us. We’ve seen some amazing moments and great gameplay that have left fans and pros amazed. For example, there was an epic Search and Destroy run that decided a match late in Stage 1, a player who took matters into his own hands against three opponents in the European region, and an Uplink play that has been identified as one of the best moves in Call of Duty gameplay. More than a few players have approached us during the year with appreciation for the developer and publisher support behind the CWL. This has been something that players have said they were hoping would happen, and now to see it continue to unfold is exciting. The feedback has been the same from the community and the amateur players. The CWL’s goal is to grow Call of Duty esports across the board. Amateur players widen the talent pool and help create the drama and excitement at open live events. Fans are always on our mind and the CWL has done a lot to improve the fan experience from broadcast to live events to creating the biggest Call of Duty fan event at Call of Duty XP. To catch up to where we are today, the end of Stage 1 had two great teams in North America come down to the wire, as Optic Gaming took a final round, final map win to beat Rise Nation in an instant classic. Stage 2 did not disappoint either, as the final day of regular matches came down to four teams fighting for three spots at Stage 2 finals. It’s because of this exciting gameplay week in and week out that our fan base continues to grow. More than 850 million minutes of the CWL have been watched so far and we still have some of the biggest events still to go. As a league, there are still things we are always improving and evolving. There have been a lot of great things to come into play, like the BO3 Live Event Viewer. The team at Treyarch brought the highest level of competitive action directly in-game in Black Ops III for PS4, so fans could watch CWL matches without leaving the game. We’ve worked closely with our friends at MLG to create a smooth broadcast directly to the console. And, between Stage 1 and Stage 2, we also started the “Match of the Week.†This was a way to highlight the best match-up of any given week, and feature it with a dedicated broadcast. We took this same idea and created the “Stage 2 Showdown†on the last day of Stage 2. It was a key event and the stakes were high, as four teams were competing for three spots to qualify for the Stage 2 finals. With the conclusion of Stage 2, all eyes are going to be on the CWL Championship at Call of Duty XP this September. You’ll see 32 teams from North America, Europe, and Australia/New Zealand competing for a $2 million prize pool on-site — the largest single event prize pool in Call of Duty history. This prize is part of the more than $3.5 million total prizing the CWL will have awarded this year, another first for Call of Duty. A full month of online qualifiers and tournaments await fans and players alike, as anyone with the ability and the dedication has a chance to earn their spot in CWL Champs qualifiers. Through July and August, we will be in the midst of the Road to Champs. Immediately after Stage 2 Finals, the ANZ and EU regions will compete in their online qualifiers (July 22-24) to determine the final teams that will represent those regions at the CWL Championship. For North America, there is one more chance to earn CWL Pro Points at a live event during the Call of Duty MLG Orlando Open (August 5-7). The North American CWL Championship online qualifier will take place the very next weekend (August 12-14). Once we know all the qualifiers, we have plans to get the community involved as the teams get ready for the biggest Call of Duty competition of the year at Call of Duty XP. This is just the start. We look forward to the future with great excitement. The Call of Duty World League is going to continue to get better week to week and year to year, and we hope you will be part of the journey. If you are interested in learning more about Call of Duty esports and the CWL, please visit CallofDuty.com/esports. You can also check out the action of the Stage 2 finals this weekend (July 14-17) at www.twitch.com/callofduty. View the full article

  19. Hey everyone, my name is Adam Orth. I’m the CEO/Creative Director at Three One Zero. We are so excited to announce that Adrift is releasing for PS4 on PlayStation Store in North America and Europe on July 15. From the very beginning, our dream was to release Adrift as a PS4 title. My partner Omar Aziz and I sat in a tiny office at a shared desk in Santa Monica, CA and plotted out exactly how to get to this point. It feels incredible to have finally achieved it. We can’t wait for you to experience the game. I’ve prepared an Adrift FAQ to get everyone up to speed on the game ahead of launch: What is Adrift? Adrift is a non-violent, narrative-driven FPX (first-person experience) where the focus is exploration, environment, narrative, and light game mechanics. Our small independent team is made up of veteran AAA game developers. We’ve collectively worked on many AAA shooters, so the idea of making a non-violent FPX was something really exciting to us and a challenge we immersed ourselves in as developers. What kind of game is Adrift? Adrift is hard to categorize, but it has a little bit of a lot of things. There’s action, simulation, exploration, mechanics, objectives, puzzles and storytelling. Mostly, we like to think of Adrift as an experience and a meditation revolving around the fantasy of an astronaut in peril. Many people use the film Gravity as a comparison, but Adrift is actually closer to the films 2001: A Space Odyssey and Moon in terms of experience, tone and theme. What other games is Adrift similar to? If you enjoy games like Firewatch, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, Gone Home, Dear Esther and Proteus, we think you will appreciate and love Adrift. How much does Adrift cost? Adrift will sell for $19.99. Will there be a physical/retail version of Adrift? Currently, there are no plans for physical or retail. How long is Adrift? An average playthrough of Adrift is 4 hours. It can be shorter or longer, depending on the amount of exploring you do. What is Adrift about? Adrift is the story of Commander Alex Oshima who wakes up floating amongst the debris of the destroyed Northstar IV space station with no memory of who she is or of the catastrophic event that took the lives of her crew and a badly damaged EVA suit slowly leaking oxygen. What do you do in Adrift? As the only survivor, your goals in Adrift are simply to stay alive and get home safely. You accomplish this by exploring the wreckage of the Northstar IV in zero gravity, searching for oxygen resources, repairing your damaged EVA suit and re-activating the station’s 4 core system mainframes in order to be able to operate and launch the station’s EEV escape craft. How is the story delivered in Adrift? The narrative in Adrift is delivered in 6 unique ways: Audio logs Audio terminals Email terminals Mission Control communications Satellite news broadcasts HAN-IV ADMINISTRA (Northstar IV Computer Assistant) How is the story told in Adrift? Just like the Northstar IV station, your EVA suit, and Alex Oshima herself, the story/narrative in Adrift is broken. It’s meant to be discovered as seeds that give you brief glimpses into the lives of Alex and the crew members who did not survive. These seeds allow you grow and create your own version of the story. There is no real, traditional game story structure. It’s up to you to hunt down as much or as little as you like as you explore the wreckage. How was Adrift created? Adrift was created using Unreal Engine 4. Are there multiple endings in Adrift? Yes. Do your actions in-game affect the outcome of Adrift? Absolutely. What are the gameplay mechanics in Adrift? Adrift revolves around the player’s EVA suit and has three main gameplay mechanic/systems: EVA Movement: Adrift takes full advantage of zero gravity, physics and the weightlessness of space. Your EVA suit is operated via intuitive controls mapped to the DualShock 4 that allow players to manipulate and move through the environment in 360°. EVA Oxygen: Your EVA Propulsion system is damaged and uses oxygen as an emergency propulsion resource. Players must carefully monitor and manage their EVA oxygen level via HUD meter in order to utilize life support and propulsion. Many moment-to-moment decisions have to be weighed carefully as using your shared resource affects everything you do. EVA Repair: As each core mainframe system is brought back online, you are able to repair 4 areas of your EVA suit: Oxygen (overall suit capacity), Propulsion (extra speed boost), Mobility (overall movement speed), and Integrity (oxygen leak repair). Are there multiple gameplay modes in Adrift? Yes. In addition to the single player experience, Adrift also features: EVA Training: An unlimited training environment where players can master the use of their undamaged EVA suit. EVA FREE: Completing each of the 4 game environments unlocks an unlimited oxygen version of each environment where players can explore stress-free, take and share screenshots and stream their gameplay sessions (Note: Trophies can’t be earned in EVA FREE). Are there Trophies in Adrift? Absolutely! Who created the music for Adrift? Adrift utilizes several well-known classical piano pieces that were performed by Brian Bell of Weezer and features several original music pieces composed and performed by Adam Orth. What can I expect from Adrift? Our goal for Adrift is to give you the ultimate astronaut-in-peril fantasy. We want to blow you away with stunning visuals, challenge you with zero-g movement and physics, scare you with the danger of space and most importantly: tell you an emotional story about human characters within a rich, deep universe and fiction. Where can I learn more about Adrift? For more about the game, visit Adrift’s website or check out its Twitter account. Adrift launches on July 15. We hope you love it. Good luck out there, commander… View the full article
  20. Hi everyone! So we’re starting the countdown to the launch of No Man’s Sky on August 9. With just a few short weeks until you can get your hands on the game, we wanted to tackle one of the questions we’ve seen crop up a few times: what do you get to do in No Man’s Sky? As Sean Murray from Hello Games has talked about before, there are four key pillars to the game: explore, trade, fight, and survive. Some of you may have seen Sean’s video with Anthony Carboni in which he talks through the game in great detail, but for those of you that haven’t, we’ve pulled together a series of short videos that highlight each of these key pillars. Without further ado, we’d like to introduce you to the Explore video. Keep an eye out during the coming weeks as we’ll be dropping new videos showing the highlights of what each pillar means to a player in No Man’s Sky. With more than 18 quintillion planets to be explored across billions of miles of space, there’s plenty to be seen in No Man’s Sky. As the discoverer of flora, fauna, and even planets, you’ll be able to name your discoveries and claim them to be seen by fellow space pioneers. Let us know what you think in the comments below. 21. Hello again, PlayStation fans! We’ve been on the dark side of a faraway planet for a while, but we’re finally ready to share the (gasp) launch news about Alone With You! What is Alone With You again?Alone With You is a narrative-focused adventure game for PS4 and PS Vita from the creator of the indie horror hit Home. You’re the last surviving member of a doomed space colony, and you need to work together with your troubled AI companion to escape the planet before it implodes. When can you play it?Remember when we said “Spring?†It turns out that the seasons work a little differently on our remote colony planet, so what we really meant was August 23. That’s right, you’ll be playing Alone With You on both PS4 and PS Vita very soon — and the game is cross buy, so you get both versions no matter where you prefer to play. What do you do in Alone With You?There are more than 12 missions in the game where you explore, use your scanner, engage in conversation, dig up old artifacts, ride rickety elevators, figure out pass codes, fix drones, and piece together dozens of intertwining narratives, among many other things. Gameplay is fluid and fast as you unlock the mysteries of the doomed space colony you’re so desperately trying to escape. Because the game is narrative-focused and has a day-by-day mission structure, you can play it all in one go — which will take several hours — or at your own pace. Need to return to the game in the middle of a mission? Your diligent AI pal will remind you what you need to do. What’s this about “romance?â€Have you ever experienced a sweet, summer love? Or maybe survived a few awkward meetings from an online dating app? Then you’ll know that relationships can be a little weird. So it is in Alone With You, where the only people you have to talk to aren’t people at all — other than your AI companion, your coffee dates are with four very different colonists, who happen to be holograms. Because they’re dead. Each of these four special people — Winnie, Jean, Leslie, and Pierre — have their own histories, hang-ups and perspectives on what went wrong at the colony while they were alive, but they need you to figure out what happened to them, and give them the closure they deserve. You’ll get to really know their personalities as you spend time with them, make decisions in conversations, and help them discover clues about their own lives while you’re out on missions. So what makes the game special? The game’s end-of-the-world scenario means you’ll have to make some tough decisions, and some players will want to play multiple times to experience everything Alone With You has to offer. We’re happy to announce that the game’s Trophies — which, yes, includes a Platinum — encourage exploring different narrative avenues and learning everything there is to know about this unfortunate colony and the people who lived there. And while we’re exploring, have we mentioned the amazing soundtrack? Composer Ivor Stines has created a completely original score with more than 30 tracks that you’ll have on rotation long after you finish the game — you can hear one of them in the new launch trailer featured above. The whole team would like to thank everyone who’s played the game at shows like PlayStation Experience, and who have expressed their excitement for the title. We can’t wait for you to finally get your hands on Alone With You, and see how your adventures unfold. View the full article
  22. In the future, we all dream of waking up to a beautiful utopia of hoverboards, clean air, and flying cars. But the future’s rarely what we’ve idealized, and in Headlander, you wake up on a derelict spaceship to the stark news that you are the last organic life left in the known universe and Methuselah, the leader of the robot society that has supplanted humanity, wants you dead. Oh — and to top that off, you’re just a head. In a space helmet. With a rocket booster attached to it. That’s just the start of Headlander, Adult Swim Games and Double Fine Productions’ side-scrolling action-adventure game heavily inspired by science fiction films of the 1970s. At the start of the game you can select from three different heads as your player character, and solving the mystery of who you are and why you’re the only human left is one of the major plot points of the game. Luckily, you can dock that noggin into plenty of other things — humanoid Citizen and Shepherd bodies, robot dogs, turrets, computer terminals, and robot vacuum cleaners; anything with a universal docking ring will accept the connection. The game world is a huge sprawling network that all kicks off in the Pleasure Port, a futuristic space resort where Citizens relax in locations like the Fondlarium and Boob Tubery while Shepherds patrol and keep the peace. Each Shepherd has color-coded security clearances so bouncing from one body to another becomes crucial to traversing the game’s world. Additionally, with each Shepherd body step up the ROYGBIV color spectrum, your lasers will become more powerful and bounce an additional time off walls. Violet lasers in close quarters can be challenging to maneuver around when you’re just a head! With the helpful voice of Earl in your helmet, you navigate each area and find transfiber nodes that’ll grant your head new abilities. Those combined with an upgrade tree with even more abilities provide you with a lot of freedom in approaching combat — whether it’s on a Shepherd body or just as a head (each has a separate health gauge). Do you go in guns blazing? Maybe you’d rather stand back or duck behind cover and target/shoot off enemy heads with more precision. Or pop your head off and vacuum the heads of your enemies. Deflecting an enemy’s fire right back at them with your bounce shield is especially satisfying. Be sure to mark your calendars for the game’s release on July 26, 2016. View the full article
  23. Fans of real-time strategy and simulation games, get ready — god-sim Reus is coming to PS4 in Q3 2016! Later this year, you will be able to control the game’s four recognizable giants, each with their own abilities, to create and evolve certain parts of the planet’s nature. Create seas, deserts, forests, and swamps. Combine powers to make plants, trees, animals and mines. As the world takes shape, tiny humans will start to settle and create villages. It’s up to you to determine how well your giants will take care of the humans. Will you help them grow and develop? Even spoil them wherever you can? Every aspect of a planet will create different challenges and opportunities for the inhabitants of your world, so try out lots of combinations to see what works and what doesn’t. You start out with the 30 minute mode called “Era,†in which you have to get your planet as evolved as possible within the time limit. While playing, you will unlock several developments and power-ups if you do well. With those, you will be able to evolve the world further and unlock longer “Era†modes (60 minutes and 120 minutes). If that sounds overwhelming, you can always try the beginner and freeplay modes. In the latter, you can play as long as you want, but you will not earn any developments. Perfect for stress-free playing and practice! You can befriend the humans in villages around the world, but be careful — they can get a bit spoiled and attack you. If you are on good terms with different villages, they can send ambassadors to travel on the backs of your giants (don’t worry, they are not heavy!), which will let you unlock new abilities. A combination of different ambassadors will give you different powers to use, so be sure to befriend all of your villagers! This giant adventure will launch later this year on PS4. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months! View the full article
