TOW-19 Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 We'd like to take this opportunity to ask those here in the UF community..... .....has anyone here taken advantage of the Gorilla Gamer game challenge fixture we had added to the UF website? For those not immediately in the know, here is the direct link: http://www.urgentfury.com/challenge/ If you HAVE used it, what was your experience with it? If you have NOT used it, aside from not knowing about it......why? If you had not known it was there prior to this message, will you be trying it out now? Thank you - TOW Quote
UNCLE-SID25 Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 I have no idea... And I tend to keep an eye out around the forums lol I will check it out now though. **EDIT Button does not work for me... Try again soon. Quote
TOW-19 Posted November 27, 2007 Author Report Posted November 27, 2007 You have to hit the icon at the bottom that says "Enter the Challenge Room," not the main image at the top. Quote
Red0ctobeR Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 I wanted to try it but the link wasn't working for me before. In fact the computer I am on now still doens't allow it. I don't think it has an updated java. So I think that is the problem. Quote
hannibal Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 wow looks like a slick way to do things. Couple of questions. Who created it? For my own security since I will likely have money in it. Strictly for cash, fun or both? Noticed in the video that money went into the GG icon how much does the site get? After these are answered for my own security I will probably use it. Quote
Guest SaTAnS_SoUlJa Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 yea i saw it this weekend...i hyavent used it because im not good enough at games to bet money on...plus im broke -Apoc Quote
Guest Stealthknight Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 Ive used this site before but the only problem is that it hasnt been updated to involve the games i play the most. It has CoD but not for the PS3. It doesnt have tiger woods (which more people are likely to bet on). AND it doesnt have the PSN High Stakes Poker (Vegas Edition). Great idea but bad game availability. If you play madden or GRAW alot then its a good tool. Other then that you maybe out of luck. Quote
TOW-19 Posted November 27, 2007 Author Report Posted November 27, 2007 Gorilla Gamer had approached UF in a bid for partnership with UF carrying their mechanics and logo here. I'm not entirely sure as to the percentage, as I had BELIEVED that it was well-documented on the show/video, but I could be mistaken. Quote
Guest [OHM]_contract_ Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 I have seen this type of site before and honestly I have never actually done any betting on it. I was a member but only for educational purposes as that kind of site was very similar to what kill4cash.com was which I helped run. Those sites remind me alot of the way game battles was. meaning that matches can take place at any time which results in some customer service problems at time if there is ever a problem. I would love to try something like this sometime but I believe I would be much calmer knowing that the game I played had something to do with a bigger website and specializing in that certain game. EX. If Urgent Fury had their own little area set aside for something like this and having it only for 1 game.. The only way I ever have played for money is through kill4cash.com and it was from singles all the way to full 16 player games and that site specialized in ONLY socom. I do not much believe in the sites that specialize in EVERYGAME, because most of the time they don't. With this type of site also comes with it the huge legal issue of online gambling and there are even some states that do not allow this type of gaming and betting even IF IT IS BASED ON SKILL. My opinion, I would have to think about it hard and long before I played on a site like that let alone merger with em.. Just my 2 cents.. Quote
-Rooster- Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 I Have not jumped on there, 1. becouse the link doest work. 2. I try to use http://www.Gamelobby.com for my gaming needs outside of UF. 3. Cheaters. Quote
hannibal Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 I used Mozilla and it worked fine for me. I didn't think about some of the things that Contract brought up. I know that you can't deposit money into Pokerstars anymore unless you send it oversees. Looks like I wouldn't use this site now that a couple of things have been said about it. Quote
RNG187 Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 i checked it out, and reminded me of nothing less than gamebattles. i will not use this site. btw -TOW, the link on the page isn't working. i googled it. Quote
WiZ Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 -Rooster- ] 3. Cheaters. With money comes cheating. And I want to enjoy my gaming still and choose not to surround myself with people who'd cheat for pennies. Defeats the purpose of why I even sign online with my 360 / PS3. Quote
