The following was posted in the gV vs SiK championship thread. Out of respect for that thread, the 2 teams and what they have accomplished, I did not want to derail that thread so decided to make my comments in it's own separate thread.

Are you really that dense or is you just have low self esteem. You just don't get it do you? Every time I come on these forums, all I see is are post by you either crying about respect or bragging about something.

 

I know that each and every time you do this, you not only people from this community come in and say something, but your own clan members will come in and tell you to basically STFU and for everyone to just ignore you.

 

For someone who says they want to be a part of this community as much as you do, you have in my opinion (and I would be willing to bet my house, most individuals here feel the same way) done all that you possibly can to show the rest of the community you do not belong here and that a leopard cannot change it's spots.

 

Some individuals have gone above and beyond to try and get you to realize the err of your ways, however for whatever reason, you are unable to comprehend the mentality of brotherhood here in the UF community. You can say all you want that that comment was tongue in cheek and just playing, however you my friend do not have that luxury of being able to post tongue and cheek comments such as those. Your history here at UF is what takes that luxury away. Week after week it was something new and disturbing with you and week after week the community had to deal with your actions.

 

Yes this community is a forgiving community. Transgressions can be forgiven and forgotten in time and as wounds and words heal, however you seem to be a scab picker. You just can't leave well enough alone. One would think that with all the troubles you have brought onto yourself and your clan, that you would think really hard prior to making a post. That doesn't seem to be the case.

 

The above quote in itself made by any other clans member or leader, that has won a tourney here at UF, would be looked at as a tongue in cheek comment, but as previously stated, due to your history, posts and transgressions, it is looked as another egotistical self promotion on your part.

 

I guess you are not looking forward to participating in another tour here at UF, because if you were, your actions have done nothing to solidify you a spot. As a matter of fact they have done just the opposite.

 

My apologies to Undertow, the UF staff and to the UF community if you feel this is out of line. As I stated earlier, this was something that has ate at me for a while. This community has bent over backwards trying to get Junk to understand the ways of UF and it appears as though he will just never get it.

Funny thing is....I read that post about 30 minutes ago and felt the same way.....just got tired of giving Junk the subtle hint and him not getting it at all.

 

But hey.....he's enjoying his tv and his crown and his throne.

Little does he know (evidently after continuously trying to guide this guy) that he's pretty much enjoying it on his own, because with every post, he is limiting the chances for the rest of his team (who WON him that tv, btw) to participate in any further tourneys here.

 

I guess this will just be an ongoing life lesson for Junk in humility.

To be honest, I kinda don't know how to feel.

 

Part of me thinks you guys are taking yourselves too serious.  But I think Bandit is right about how it's tough to view this as just being humorous when there has been a pattern of ongoing gloating.  

 

I guess torn is the right word.  Or maybe I just don't care anymore...

 

I don't want to speak for Junk, but I think he thinks he has friends here that he really doesn't have.

 

Junk is very proud of his/our accomplishment.  I guess he needs to be more humble.

 

If our penalty for Junk's mistakes are to be eliminated from UF, well, it is what it is.  That's not my decision, and I can't worry about things that I ULTIMATELY have no control over.

Having been with the UF for only a little while now, I am beginning to understand Junks relationship with UF.  I wanted to be apart of the UF for respect, to find the clans that can win or lose with grace.  As for P~K as long as it is a fair loss we will give credit where credit is due and look forward to another a$$ whooping.  LOL.  I know that being here for the Black III tournament has been a different experience, but we have formed new alliances with other clans, a brotherhood so to speak, and the friends that we have made has been great.  I don't think that we would rub it in if we ever won anything on here, and that would be solely out of respect to the other great clans we play with on a nightly basis.  All in all UF is something that I would like to continue to play in and I don't think I would have the balls to put that at risk by short thought out comments, but good luck to you Junk, maybe the Phantom Knights will knock you off your throne so to speak.

I just think that everyone as a whole should always be conscious of their words. We all know there are certain clicks and clans that get along better than others. That can be found in all aspects of life, what needs to be understood is that we all come here for one reason. Enjoyment of a video game and a community that supports and helps eachother.

 

For what Junk said, yea its alittle rough and should have been thought out more.....I think more people are upset at the pattern but I do not think he should be hung out to dry for a simple statement. I think we all learn from eachothers responses and opinions, thats why I like this site. I think he will learn...if he chooses to.

I hope I never stop learning...all it means if I do, is that I'm dead.

Gloating is not the ONLY issue. That was just the most recent thing that said to me, enough is enough already. It wears on you when a certain individual and or clan continue to rip and disrespect the community you live in. Yes we live here in UF.

 

This is a place unlike all the others. A place that has instituted a high standard that we must adhere to, if you wish to play here. Skipper said that he thinks we may take ourselves to serious here. You know what, we do take it serious here. I am glad that it is taken serious. Let me explain.

 

I was asked at one time to become an Admin at GB. I balked at first because of the way they did things over there. After several individuals came to me stating that things were going to change and that people such as myself were going to make that difference.

 

To make a long story short, I was right in thinking I nor anyone else could make a change. You see at GB it was all about volume. Getting the most people to the site and playing. It was never about quality. Never about fair play and doing what was right. They wanted to do what they could that would least upset the participation level. Cip continually stated it was not about money, they weren't making any and it was just for the players. Well for those who don't know, the founder of GB, sold GB a while back to the people at MLG and went to work for them as vice president of the IT department.

 

This is what sets this community apart from all the others. There are several individual here within the staff, who actually want the experience to be a good one. They want a place where mature people will come to play, have fun and enjoy the ride and you know what, they take that serious. I take it serious that we have adults running a place that is for adults. People who want a good clean game and a good experience.

 

So there you have it. We take it to serious. It that a problem! I don't see a problem at all. I actually see a solution to what is wrong with the alternative of GB/MLG. A site run by kids for kids, who don't care about the users experience as much as they care about advertising dollars and making money.

 

Here at UF we get a great experience and it is wrapped all nice a pretty with all the bells and whistles, by individuals who care about your experience and I applaud their efforts and want to continue to be apart of such a place.

 

I personally don't see how, playing by the rules, respecting your opponents and their community is a hinderance to having fun. It ensures mine.

I see both sides of this.

 

Junk has every right to be proud of his clan's accomplishment. As part of the runner-up clan, I can tell you I feel the same way about my clan mates in APC.

 

However, its KIND of like (for you football fans) why Roy Williams of the Detroit Lions has a bad rep with some people. He celebrates every first down catch as if it were some kind of record, and in general can just be outspoken and over the top. Roy Williams is a great player, but the fact that he needs to be so outspoken in an apparent attempt to show the obvious earns him some negative sentiment by fans around the league.

 

I think Junk just threw out a well-intentioned joke, which he realized also happened to point out the fact that his clan won a tournament. He may not have realized when he typed it out, however, that it can take a LOT to swallow your pride, step back and say (as the entire UF community has done, as far as I know) "Congrats JyK on the UF4 victory, you earned it". ESPECIALLY considering the issues JyK had during the course of the tournament. I'm not sure having friends (or not having friends) in this community has anything to do with it all, to be honest.

 

Basically, the point I'm making is that its ALWAYS best to error on the side of caution in terms of potential bragging in any competitive arena with people you are not entirely familiar with. Win with honor, lose with dignity... it's a pillar of Urgent Fury, and with good reason.

Alright, let me clarify my position here a little; and Bandit that was a very well written post. Your point it taken.

 

When I talked about people taking themselves too serious and my Junk comment, I meant it as this. Junk kinda throws a comment out there that is meant to be amongst friends, a good natured ribbing. My point is that it's just not received well because, well, I don't think people view King as he views them. Junk likes being here and likes the people here but I don't think its reciprocated. Now, much of that he'll tell you is his own doing. He knows the mistakes he made in the past, we all do.

 

I see myself as objective here. I think many of you will agree to that as I have had no problem calling my guys to the carpet if need be. I will not let clan loyalty blind me to something I think is wrong. I kinda feel that I needed to back King up a little bit here because I saw it differently than Bandit did. Although, Bandit I certainly understand your point of view.

 

As I've told Undertow, we love what UF provides us. We wouldn't be here if we didn't. Tow and Sniper put a lot of work into this and yes, it should be taken serious.

 

In the spirit of honesty and at the risk of possibly offending some I will say this. I've told my guys that they need to keep their mouths shut for two reasons: 1. That's what is expected here and 2. I said at the end of this tourney there is going to be some hurt feelings. A lot of guys here put a lot of time into websites, clan structures, chain of commands, practice schedules etc....Then to lose to a clan that has none of that, well, people are going to point the finger at something. Kinda like Ravens' fans here in Baltimore bitching about the refs...lol. I've told them when you finish in first place at something, you wear a bullseye. So just keep your mouths shut and don't give anyone any ammunition.

That game losing Time out the Ravens took was from Rex Ryan The def Coordinator.....Only the Head coach and players on Field can call a time out, Had that happened we would of stopped them kneed it and won... sorry off topic but i had to defend my Ravens.......LoL Sorry.

Look Bandit why is it ONLY you who seems to just always have the balls to get something off your chest. Every time I do something that is wrong you always the 1st to say " ahh guys this and that" and ahh guys I love this community, and I will not let some fool like Junk do this and do that!! Why is it always YOU?!

 

I mean are you still sore about POW, and YOU stated this yourself "You guys seem to just have our number" when you seemed as if I was picking on you in POW when we had like 4 or 5 straight wars that 1 or 2 weeks. When truthfully it was just how the card fell.

 

Look how is it people of this community can joke with me in public room about wining POW, but when I make 1 simple joke the way I did on the forums it's like the end of the world. To tell you the truth Bandit its people like you who need to come play with JyK and get to know me a lil bit better like some of the other clans here. I laugh make jokes and do all sorts of things with a few other clans here in UF and no feelings are hurt, but somehow I always seem to hit the nerve of yours that you can't control. I mean talk to me what is really good with you man? You say YOU love this community so much right? Well, this goes for you and any other person here that say they love UF so much, where in the hell were you guys when UF needed you for Breakout? Some of you signed up, but the main people who say "I love this community so much" was nowhere to be found when MONEY was involved. At first I was not going to sign up due to all the drama that was surrounding JyK, but a PM from Goat, and I had 3 or 4 teams from JyK put together to support a place we keep assuming is home, but I guess we are still standing on the door step waiting to get in!

 

People still laugh and joke about when I came to the Rep meeting drunk ahh hell, I laugh at it too because them people don't act like they have never been drunk before. I guess I need to stop trying so hard to fit in here and just let things flow until some people just get to know me better.

 

As far as winning POW goes for you are damn right I am happy JyK did it. We came up from the slumps of POW from almost being kicked out to winning it, and it seemed around here that this was a big accomplishment and for me to do it the way we did ya damn right I am happy!! Ohh and don't get it twisted this is NOT my life biggest accomplishment, I have done many things and been to many different parts of the world ok well just Europe.
