Gran Turismo 5 PS3 Collector’s Edition Pre-Order Sales Increase

Advanced sales for Sony Corp.’s Gran Turismo 5 Collector’s Edition for the Playstation 3 revved up this month at retailer Amazon.com amid high demand for the sequel.

 

On Thurs., the Gran Turismo 5 Collector’s Edition SKU held a 176 percent sales increase to rank at No. 34 in Amazon’s Video Games division.

 

The Gran Turismo 5 Collector’s Edition will include a copy of Gran Turismo 5, exclusive limited edition 1:43 scale diecast 2009 Nissan GT-R Spec V with custom Gran Turismo livery designed by Polyphony Digital, 300-page car-lover’s guide by Polyphony Digital, custom etched Gran Turismo key chain, voucher for five exclusive high-end cars with custom Gran Turismo livery and performance upgrades, numbered certificate of authenticity, and custom collector’s packaging at $99.99.

The Gran Turismo 5 stand-alone SKU holds a pre-order price of $54.99.

 

Gran Turismo 5 is said to include more than 950 vehicles and an online multiplayer mode for up to 16 players.

 

Sony in Jan. delayed the release of Gran Turismo 5 citing production issues.
