Yellow Light of Death...I got it >

 

My PS3 is out of warranty too so that makes it even better. I had just finished watching a bluray and was about to start a game of NHL and all of a sudden the ps3 shot into stanby mode with the red light blinking. I restarted it. The green light turns on like normal so i think everything is fine...wrong. The yellow light flashes and it shuts back down again..LAME.

 

Has anyone else had this problem? I'm thinking the power supply went bad so maybe i can replace it with another and it will work.I've taken it apart and everything seemed fine. It's either gamble and buy a $60 dollar power supply or send it to sony and pay $150 to get it fixed. If i send it in I can more than likely kiss my 60gb goodbye. Any suggestions?

Can you back up Hard Drive?

 

If they will give you an 80 gig, then why not let it go. I mean if its the 60 with the chrome and has the card reader and thats why you want it... idk what to say, other than everyone else who had that one it took a shit on, that I know anyways.

I too have this prob w/ my 60... the sony rep says its an over heating issue and wont tell me any more then that other then its $150 for repairs.. takes about 7-10 days once they receive it. They also told me you get back what you send in... so if you send in a 60 although you might get a larger hard drive.. you will infact get the same features back.. including backwards compatible and the card readers. I ended up just buying an 80gb MGS4 edition... and i actually am finally gonna send in my 60 here in less then a month.. TAXES BABY!!! lol

Lol im glad i got rid of my ps3 that was about to lose its warranty this month.i got rid of it in october. lol now i got me a ps3 80gb non backwards with full warranty until october 2009 .
