Guys and Gals, If you haven't noticed yet, we have a couple of new ad zones that have been added... the first one has been set for only users that are not logged in, this one really a little much for our users. The second one is what as known as a dynamic background and really gives a little flare to the site... these are not pay per click which for us is very important. I am going to go out of the box and share a little about what is going on... As of last Monday I received the,we are cutting your position call... this was not a surprise but it was earlier than planned. Now as to why this matters. The day they told us we had too much traffic at Lunar Pages, was the day we decided to go in it for the long haul and moved to a dedicated server. Since then we have increased some of our monthly costs. With that being said the money we depend on to pay these bills will be cut significantly. So we have discussed various ways to make Urgent Fury self sufficient. One thing we knew was that the community is not going to bear this. The only exception to this has of course been the ads. We have moved over to blip with UFreqTV that has some great ad rates but the views are not where they need to be. So that leaves us at a crossroads of cutting our costs back as much as possible which could affect the community or find additional revenue. We opted for additional revenue. We also chose not to use bulk ads that pay better, but put our users at risk. We will try to keep the ads we do have as unobtrusive as possible, but they will remain. We know that some people will not be happy with the ads so, I have added a poll to this. One of the many things we have discussed with the Staff and the Rangers awhile ago is offering a means to pay a subscription fee and have the ads turned off. This would be completely voluntary for the people that don't want to see the ads. At that time it wasn't really needed, but now that the ads will be more prevalent, I wanted to see if this is something the community wants. Until the layoff situation is resolved the ads will remain in place to offset our overhead. We are happy to hear constructive and respectful feedback come from the community.

Yah for the free period, it would be a high risk to allow the international calls... now the plans come with international calling plans... there is something like 22 or 42 countries that are free and then the rest range from 0.05 per min to some crazy rates. I think there was one that was 11.75 per min What countries are you looking at, and I will investigate for you.

Wow this is really getting under your skin... First of all I did respond to you as you requested all of the details to dispute the Patent, so I kindly responded that you can obtain this as it is Public record and we are not going to do your research for you. Now when it becomes available I don't know... the USPTO handles all of that, we did are part and have the paperwork and receipts. So I will continue to say that we are not going to help you fight a patent when you do not know any of the content of said patent. I find it funny that this is all tied to me... I guess it is because I made the post. This is no one man show. There is a team and a community behind UF. Our job here is to pay the bills... we don't ask our clans to pay the bills, and we have even stopped collecting entry fees. So with all of side comments about being "Money Grubbers" I get a chuckle every time I read that. As for the contact requests. At no point in the announcement did we say we were going to give anyone a copy of the Patent information. I can go on all day, but it is not the right thing to do, so I will say again This is now in the Patent Process' hands, if you can refrain from posting please do and let the topic arise in the future when it needs too. As I said in my last post, the purpose of this was to inform anyone that may be affected by the Patent and to inform the community on some of the happenings. Have a wonderful day... Nope nothing done wrong by us... we were given an option to continue the contest in a different manner but out of respect we opted to shut the contest down. It is a more respectful decision for BradyGames and Rockstar.

OK I am gong to put an end to this as it has run its course... First off the post was as Bandit said a PSA or Notice. We did this as a courtesy to let everyone know that we have reached the status of Patent Pending. This was done for a few reasons but mostly to give warning to those that if and when the Patent is Approved it will back date to a point in time previous to this announcement. And yes I did contact the owners of EBZ via their contact form and informed them of the pending patent and asked them to remove the infringing tournament as a courtesy so that if and when the patent is approved they are not "liable for damages (including back-dated royalties), seizure, and injunction". Now they have every right to choose to continue but they have been informed of the Pending Patent and cannot claim ignorance of this, and will be "liable for damages (including back-dated royalties), seizure, and injunction". And you are right I did not come over to your (wait Their) forums and do this publicly because well that is not the proper venue. And to make it clear this post is the ONLY post that has been made by Urgent Fury about the Patent Pending status. You have made several claims that I have posted this your threads, but I have not once made a post about it outside of this thread. I have amended my signature as we are advised that we need to place "Patent Pending" before mention of our TacMap Tournaments. To those that have requested all of the information, I do not know how long it takes to populate in the US Govs website and that really is not of my concern. It will be available when it is available. We have received our paperwork and are good. And for all of the Lawyers that we have here in UF, glad to see you guys finished school...
