Hello, everyone! After a long period of intense work with the team, we are delighted to finally be able to show more about our game Stray with this just-released gameplay trailer. But we wanted to add a bit more context to what you’ve hopefully just enjoyed. Play Video At its core, Stray is an adventure game. It tells the story of a cat who accidentally falls into a weird, mysterious city and his journey to return to his family. Exploration is a key element and as we love to add lots of details to our environments, we hope players will enjoy looking for all the little bits of hidden lore that we’ve added across each level. There’s quite a lot to find and learn about this forgotten city and the surprising characters who live in it! Not everything will be explained clearly, so it will be up to the most attentive and insightful players to figure out what exactly this place is, who these inhabitants and creatures are, and the story and purpose of this beguiling world in which we are immersed. The cat is definitely the star of the show in the game though, and it was important for us to show a glimpse of all the playful interactions that he can have with his environment. Some of them are useful and will help solve puzzles as you progress, and some are just here because cats will be cats — and as most cat owners know painfully well, no sofa can be left unscratched. The unique perspective of playing as a cat also creates interesting opportunities in terms of level design. Some of the usual tropes of videogames can be twisted in funny and interesting ways: a grid blocking the way for humans? Not for a cat! A decorative rain pipe spiraling along a building? Perfect platforming sequence for a feline! But even though cats can do lots of amazing things, they don’t usually interact with technology that well. The small drone, B12, that you’ll encounter has lots of helpful features like translating the language of the machines inhabiting the world, or storing precious items that you find during your journey. But above all, he is a friendly being with a mysterious story — learning about his past as his relationship with the cat evolves is a key element to this adventure. Their journey will not be a calm river, though — action and fast-paced sequences are a strong component of Stray, too. Some areas of the game are way more dangerous and unwelcoming for the little duo, and our hero’s agility and quick moves will be put to the test to survive vicious enemies like the swarm of “Zurks” as seen in the trailer. The Zurks have a big impact on the lives of the inhabitants of the city, but they are not the only type of foe that you may encounter. And while being quick and agile is required, being stealthy and sneaky will be just as important to find the exit of this strange and futuristic maze. Hopefully this gives you a more detailed and in-depth look at the world of Stray, but we still have a lot more to show! There’s a whole other part of the city waiting to be discovered that we shared a glimpse of in our very first teaser. The whole team is working full speed to deliver the most polished experience possible, and we look forward to seeing players explore our world early next year. Until then, like Oscar, our Office Manager, always says: PrrrMEeow! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/ZB-siQxpzNcView the full article

A Memoir Blue is an atmospheric journey featuring a champion swimmer named Miriam who, on the day of her greatest achievement, begins to reflect on long forgotten memories. Play Video The story of the game is based on a childhood journey I took with my mom. My recollection as a child was that we had taken a wonderful day trip to the neighboring seaside city, but when I became older I realized my mother had taken me with her as she ran away from home. Although the game was built around this personal story, it quickly expanded into a larger scale world that players could explore in greater detail. True events are still at the core of the game with some creative additions to help our players understand what Miriam is feeling as she progresses along her journey. Some of the scenes depicted are taken directly from my memories as a six year old. One of the things I remember vividly was the train my mom and I took during the beginning of our trip. We also visited a scenic lake where my mom rented a boat for just the two of us to enjoy the views as the breeze swept through our hair. Eventually, after our fateful day trip, we moved into a small apartment that was so small we could only fit a single reading chair in it. But as a child I had fond memories of that place and was happy to call it home. Another interesting aspect of A Memoir Blue is that its narrative is told entirely without words. Unlike other popular narrative games, A Memoir Blue uses expressive character animations and songs as a standin for dialogue. We took great care crafting each movement and melody to communicate a visual story to players. The song featured in our reveal trailer is an example of how we specifically use music to convey feelings the mother has for our main character. The use of mixed media is another special trait we use to show the separation of time. 2D animations represent recollections from Miriam’s past while 3D represents the present as our main character reexamines past events. We created these traditional 2D animations through multiple passes, first sketching out a rough pass, then cleaning up the linework, and finally by assigning the colors. The end of the trailer features a breakdown of each of these steps. A Memoir Blue is our studio’s first project. Our mission is not only to tell stories, but to share experiences that will also appeal to a player’s heart. I hope you enjoy sinking into Miriam’s uncovered past by letting go of the ordinary and immersing yourself into a world of deep blue. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/ntTGXEmcotoView the full article

The team at Lucid has been hard at work on a new patch for Destruction AllStars, available today, which brings various improvements to the game. We wanted to provide some insight into how this patch enhances our gameplay as well as provide an update on the current season. Over the past few months, we’ve been refining Destruction AllStars’ core game experience based on valuable community feedback. We’re really grateful to everyone who’s been talking to us on Twitter and Discord, highlighting what could be improved or iterated upon. A lot of this aligns with our own observations and has helped guide our recent internal playtests as we try out new things or push the game in new directions. Today’s patch includes loads of fixes and improvements, such as reducing the number of “ghost hits” as well as improving the slam system and on-foot experience. As a result of focusing on the game’s core experience, we’re extending Season One and adding additional tiers to the AllStar Pass. We’ll return with updates on future Seasons at a later date. We made this decision with our community in the forefront of our minds and a lot of these improvements have already gone live in today’s patch. “Ghost Hits” One of the biggest points of feedback was on so-called “ghost hits” during multiplayer games. Players have reported that they sometimes feel as if their vehicle loses health but with no clear cause presented to them on screen. Whilst there are some intentional mechanics that can cause this, such as Shyft’s Hero Vehicle being able to turn invisible, the majority of cases point to situations where other vehicles appear close by, but not coming into contact, or with no other vehicles appearing in view at all. We feel one of the possible causes is latency during a match of Destruction AllStars. There are a number of factors at play that can affect the latency a player experiences when connected to our servers and playing the game, along with the inherent latency of other players in the game as well. We’ve worked on a new set of parameters between the game and the servers which should help keep everyone in sync a bit better than it had previously. From our own playtests, some of our team have described these improvements as night and day in how much they’ve helped reduce the number of “ghost hits” experienced. More slamming and ramming Another point of feedback was around the minute-to-minute gameplay of Destruction AllStars. This can include feeling a bit frustrated to have a cooldown on your vehicle’s slam as you’re actively trying to hit your next target. Whilst we want to maintain a skill ceiling in Destruction AllStars, we agree that these moments were occurring a bit too often. To address this, we’ve drastically lowered the cooldown on vehicle slams for all common vehicle types along with all our Hero Vehicles. By increasing the frequency at which you can slam an opposing player, we feel this change brings a whole new level of destruction and fun to the game, as players are performing spectacular wrecks with increased frequency. That’s only a snapshot of the improvements we’ve made to Destruction AllStars in today’s patch. You can get hands on with all of these changes, and more, in the live game right now! New ways to play and more Whilst addressing community concerns with some of the core elements of the game is a massive priority for us, we recognise that players are still eager for new ways to play and new cosmetics to earn in Destruction AllStars. As part of extending Season One, we’ve added some new content and updates to the game that we feel players can really sink their teeth into. Newly added in today’s patch: New high quality skins and cosmetics Online parties for solo game modes A new Quickplay playlist Buffs to AllStars and Hero Vehicles Two Reworked Mayhem maps with smaller arena size (going live in a few weeks) Three new premium AllStar Pass tiers Refreshed shop interface Whilst we’re proud of all the new additions in the patch today, we’re especially thrilled that we were able to get online parties for solo game modes out to the community in today’s update. This was a highly requested feature by the community that the team has been hard at work on, so we’re excited to see you all partying up and wrecking your friends in solo Mayhem and Carnado. We also made some changes to two existing maps and will be adding them into the Mayhem playlist in a few weeks time. These maps will be a lot smaller than the maps the community is used to and we find that they really ramp up the carnage! We’ll be listening closely to what the community thinks of these new maps and we might have a few more surprises for the community up our sleeves as well! We’ve also done a balance pass on our AllStars and their Hero Vehicles with a focus on pulling characters that might have been underperforming up to better compete with some of our most used AllStars. Full details are in the patch notes, but there’s never been a better time to branch out from your favourites and experiment with our AllStars in the arena! Beyond Season One We want to say a huge thank you to the community, to each and every one of you! Seeing your continued passion and support for the game is why we do what we do and we can’t wait to hear your thoughts on today’s patch! We feel that all of these changes represent a step forward in the gameplay experience of Destruction AllStars. The team really wanted to hit the nail on the head with our latest patch and deliver truly meaningful changes to our community. We’re thrilled that we were also able to deliver some cool new skins and maps for our community to earn and explore and we can’t wait to share more information on future updates! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/nH5u29D7QHcView the full article

In Life is Strange: True Colors, Alex’s psychic power of Empathy is brought to life through unique gameplay and cinematic experiences. Emotions are expressed by auras around other characters, which can explode into novas of light and color when the emotion becomes overwhelming. Each of these experiences transforms Alex’s world, offering her valuable insights into another person but threatening to consume her own consciousness at times. As a dev team, we wrestled with the question of how to capture something as abstract as emotions. We found ourselves pushing the conventions of traditional Life is Strange storytelling, employing the tangible audio-visual representation of emotive sensations to drive the same response in the player that Alex herself feels each time. We also wanted to challenge the boundary between Alex and other characters, using elements like internal monologue and world exploration to blend perspectives and introduce questions about the strength of Alex’s own thoughts. Although we approached each nova as a bespoke experience, we eventually landed on four general categories of emotions that shared similar elements: sadness, anger, fear, and joy. Here are some hints of what the player might experience with each. Sadness Sadness is expressed with a blue aura that is fluid and consuming. Inside a sadness nova, the world takes on a gray-blue pallor. It may seem as if a rain cloud has blocked out the sun. Everything looks and sounds heavier, darker, duller. You can witness this first-hand as Alex watches Steph as she mourns Gabe’s death. Fear Fear is expressed with a purple aura that jumps and spikes, like an EKG monitor. Inside a fear nova, the world is all jagged lines and dark shadows. The player can hear her heartbeat in her ears. There are jump scares around every corner. As she looks down into a dark abyss, she may even see monsters staring back at her. Alex first gets a glimpse of this fear in Haven Springs as Mac is overwhelmed about the situation behind Gabe’s death while at his wake. Anger Anger is expressed with a violent red that flickers like a flame. Inside an anger nova, the world is intense and hot. Lights and sounds are amped up, movements are sharp and staggered. The player can hear short, shallow breaths. The world seems to pulse with adrenaline and clench like a fist. This Anger washes over Alex during her witnessing Steph having a tense conversation on the phone, as she involuntarily mimics the same frustrated mannerisms that Steph exhibits. Joy Joy is expressed with a golden aura that radiates like the sun’s corona. Inside a joy aura, the world seems to bubble and vibrate with love and laughter. Colors pop, sounds are rich and full. Memories are tinted with a gloss of fondness and the present is seemingly limitless. Joy bursts to life for Alex as all of Gabe’s community in Haven Springs give him a worthy send-off at the Bridge of Flowers, watching the bright lights of lanterns drift calmly into the depths of the sky. In many of these sequences, Alex has the opportunity to find a catharsis that helps the other person achieve balance with their emotions. Much more challenging for Alex, and the crux of her journey in Life is Strange: True Colors, is confronting her own emotions and finding the relief and comfort she has been searching for. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/VzJAKAiZuE4View the full article

Welcome to the brightest Ragnarök you’ve ever seen! Tomorrow, we launch Tribes of Midgard, and while many of you are already in the game chasing down our big boss, Fenrir, we thought it’d be helpful to give some quick tips and tricks, as well as break down some of the enemies you’ll encounter along your journey. Many mighty creatures stand between you and stopping Ragnarök, but first here are some tips & tricks for survival in general! Survival Tips First up, let’s get you some clothes, Einherjar! While some Vikings did indeed fight in their underpants (it’s true, look it up!), it’s probably not going to be the best way to take down the Jötnar, Fenrir and all the other creatures in our game. To get started, you’ll want to immediately grab some Flint and Branches – this will get you an axe to chop wood and a pickaxe to mine stone. After you’ve picked up a few resources, go make some clothes! Midgard is a well-trodden world, with numerous beaten paths that mark the journeys of past Vikings. If you stay on the path, you’ll move much faster. This is key for both the early game and for when you need to venture forth to find an approaching Jötunn. Apparently, the Jötnar prefer paths, too, so you can almost always find them by sticking to these existing roadways. Every enemy in Tribes of Midgard has their own special set of attacks and skills. We won’t bore you with all of them, because there are a lot. But, and this is especially helpful for the early game, all these special attacks will knock down trees, break stones and leave resources just hanging out on the ground, ready for you to grab. It’s kind of like how you can Viking-kick down a tree, but more “beastly.” As you explore Midgard, you’ll see notifications pop up that tell you about all the new biomes and environments you’re entering. If you see red text, it’s probably best to stop! This indicator is telling you that your Einherjar is probably not strong enough to defeat the enemies you’ll encounter here (I mean, sure it’s possible…but it’s gonna take a while!) You can also always check your Power Level in the inventory window, and mix and match gear to make sure you’re putting your strongest foot forward. Your village is populated by several useful crafters. These folks aren’t just great when you need a new axe; they’ll assist you in fending off the nightly Helthing invasion. Level them up by depositing the Souls you’ve collected and you’ll not only have access to better gear, but they’ll be stronger fighters when it’s time to beat back the darkness. With the basics under your belt, it is time to bring on the baddies! While we can’t explain every enemy you’ll face in Tribes of Midgard, we wanted to break down some of them that you should approach with caution. Enemies The Varúlfur Roaming the edges of the Bright Forest, Varúlfur are wolf-like warriors who got a little too into their wild side. Once Vikings like you and me (at least when we’re playing the game), they drank elixirs made from forbidden plants found in meadows. Seriously, who leaves that stuff lying around for someone to make elixirs out of? If you hear their howl, be on guard and ready to duck and roll out of harm’s way. Varúlfur can leap great distances and put their claws through you faster than you can say “Odin.” Aside from their sharp claws, be sure to evade when they prepare to leap at you to avoid their attack – or it’s gonna leave a mark! To take out these ferocious furballs, we’d recommend being well armored and keeping your distance. Striking these pups down will earn you Werewolf Fangs and Fur, a key basic Ingredient that can be refined into Yarn (or make great rugs). Best keep this for Ásta, a colorful character looking for warm socks before the Fimbulwinter approaches! Complete this Quest for a reward (and a good deed). Linnorms Snakes! Why did it have to be snakes?! You’d better not mind reptiles if you enter the Land of Pools, because the Linnorm, a fabled half-snake, half-dragon will *ahem* scale you half to death if you’re unprepared. Not only have they mastered the power of thunder, but they can spit electrified saliva at you from afar and paralyze you if you aren’t careful. Snakes. They’re gross and dangerous. Watch out for more than just lightning and spit – Linnorms are notorious for tail whip attacks. To keep them at bay, roll backwards when they prepare their tail whip, and launch some Spells in between. Remember that their tail whip can not only hurt you, but also your enemies… Use this to your advantage! If you can keep yourself grounded and clean, you can collect a Linnorm Spike from your victory. These come in handy for crafting all kinds of Thunder Equipment, including the Rare Nornir Armor Set. If you’re lucky, maybe you’ll get a medium Health Potion for a nice cleanse after the Linnorm’s shock to your system. Trölls Next up, a blue beast. Even if it’s nominally a Tröll, this isn’t some cute and cuddly creature that lives in a mushroom house. The Land of Pools’ Blue Tröll will not be pleased when you enter their territory, and they’ll bash you with their favorite club in hand. These big fellas are pretty slow, but they can still strike you from a distance if you underestimate them. Blue Trölls may seem like awkward, lumbering creatures. Even so, their massive club will make any Einherjar see stars. Bring Dark Weapons (as they are weak against it) and the self exploding on death Rune: Last Laugh (as you are weak against them!) Contrary to their lack of agility, these creatures drop Speed Elixir after you fell them, as well as Large Bones, Mana Elixir, and even an Ancient Core. Unfrozen Shield-Maiden She’s as cold as ice, but the poor Unfrozen Shield-Maiden just wants to get home and cozy up with a warm blanket. After being caught in a terrible winter in the Glacier Peaks, her skin turned blue, her hair turned white, and her heart turned wicked. These frigid warriors travel in groups, and the Unfrozen Shield-Maiden will crack you like an icicle if you lack the right armor. Her mighty spear throws will knock down your HP quickly, but if you bring a sturdy shield to block them, you’ll be on fire in this fight. Icing these foes can give you Spun Yarn, perfect for crafting the Feral Armor Set…or for knitting a sweater. You might also get an Unfrozen Talisman. Sirelings Sirelings are one of the many enemies the goddess Hel will send to your Village to snuff out the Seed of Yggdrasil, but they don’t mind taking their sweet time approaching. This “noble” class of Helthings pack a punch and have mastered all kinds of dark magic. As you beat back the smaller Helthings that approach the Seed with more speed, Sirelings will pull you in from afar, no matter if you were ready for it or not! Once close, you’ll pay with more than just the Souls on your person once they unleash their devastating Basin Drain attack. If you have a larger party, we recommend dividing and conquering: while a few stay close to the Seed to thwart any mad dashes by quicker Helthings, other Einherjar can start attacking Sirelings as they emerge from the darkness below and chip away at their HP before they breach the Village walls. When you defeat a Sireling, look out for its crown. These Helthing Crowns can be used for crafting high end gear, including the Legendary Dark Bow, Élivágar. The Big Bad Wolf: Fenrir! If you can conquer these monsters, you might think you are ready for a tougher challenge. Good news! Tribes of Midgard’s first Saga Boss, Fenrir, can give you plenty to go up against. The son of Loki and Angrboða, Fenrir is a massive, vicious wolf that had to be chained up to prevent it from going on a wild rampage. Don’t ask us how a god and a Jötunn produced a wolf – we’re game developers, not biologists. Fenrir was supposed to be restrained with the unbreakable chains of Gleipnir for all time, but you wouldn’t be fighting him if he was sitting pretty on his leash. As soon as you venture through his Lair and enter his domain, don’t expect this wolf to wait for you to get yourself oriented. Fenrir takes no time to charge at any intruders and will make you (and your ears!) scream in terror as boulders start falling on your head. We shouldn’t have to tell you this, but try not to get hit by boulders. We don’t want to spoil too much of the big boss battle, but here’s a tip: bring along your best gear. And health potions. Ok, maybe bring lots of health potions. Trust me, you’ll need them. Tribes of Midgard lands on PS4 and PS5 tomorrow. Put a stop to Fenrir before Fimbulwinter arrives – we believe in you, brave Einherjar! Valhalla can wait! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/E4wG1p8WrRsView the full article

Hello everyone, it’s Alexandre Pernot Lopes from Trebuchet. Winds & Leaves will be available tomorrow on PS VR, and we thought it’d be a great time to share some tips to help you get started before you jump on the Gardener’s stilts. If you have not yet heard of it, Winds & Leaves is a flora-builder game where you grow forests with your own two hands to restore life in a barren world. Here is the launch trailer: Play Video Exciting, isn’t it? Now let’s look at the tips and tricks: Tip #1 – Expand your forest to explore further When you try to go too far from your trees, the roots will start to bring you back to the forest. With your bundle of roots fully charged you can venture quite far, but you should always plan ahead, either by having enough fruits to plant and expand the forest into the barren land or by making sure you save enough energy for the way back. Tip #2 – Your fruit pouch is like your Gardener’s palette As you progress further in the world, you uncover ancient trees that yield fruits with different traits. Each new variety of fruit will go to one of the six pockets in your pouch. When you start to mix and match fruits with traits that fit new terrain, your pouch will start to fill up and you will have to decide which fruits to keep. Always try to maintain a good variety so you can mix and match to overcome the different soils you will encounter. Tip #3 – Master time and check on your trees at night One of your most powerful tools is the Time Mill, which lets you live on the same time scale as trees, passing years in a matter of seconds. When it’s nighttime, you can stop and observe the bond between the trees you planted, it will show you if a tree is not “connected,” meaning it is too far from other trees to be supported and it will end up dying. Tip #4 – Keep an eye out for ancient knowledge You’re not the first Gardener to step foot into this world, and you’ll find lots of traces of passage from your predecessors. Across all regions, you will stumble on rocks with paintings that will give you hints to help you go on with your journey. Look around for those as they could end up holding precious hints or help you understand this world’s past! Tip #5 – Make the Garden your own At the center of the world of Winds & Leaves lies the Garden, a safe haven protected from the harsh winds of the Steppe. Each Ark you awaken will grow an identical tree in the Garden, giving you easy access to all of your currently uncovered fruits. You can also plant any tree you like within the Garden as they will always grow healthy there. Also, they won’t sow other trees around them, which lets you do some landscaping. Tip #6 – Not sure where to go next, take some height Winds & Leaves has a vast world for you to explore. As your forest grows and gets denser, you will need to take some height to look at the horizon. Climb up a tall tree and look around for nearby landmarks to help you find your way. Tip #7 – Use headphones and try different comfort settings Winds & Leaves has an evolving procedural soundtrack that reacts to the environment around you, you will enjoy it best with headphones! To provide the best experience, we included a bunch of comfort options. You can adjust a vignette intensity and choose a different rotation setting as well as set your inventory items position as you see fit. You should now be ready to start your journey. Winds & Leaves can be traversed at your own pace. Nature sure needs your help, but don’t forget to sometimes take a moment to look back at the forests you created and just enjoy the views! Making Winds & Leaves come true has been quite a journey for us all at Trebuchet, and we are thrilled to finally let players experience it! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/e6dbd9JsyVoView the full article

Ready to get back behind the wheel? Revealed today during EA Play Live, welcome to Grid Legends, launching in 2022 on PS5 and PS4. A thrilling and unpredictable driving experience from Codemasters and EA Games, Grid Legends combines thrilling motorsport action, incredible race variety, and an immersive story that puts the player at the heart of the action. Blending brand new features with a quarter-century legacy of fantastic racing experiences, today’s official reveal trailer kicks off a new chapter for a legendary racing series. So, before we really get stuck into that trailer, let’s take a cruise down memory lane… Grid Legends: A racing legacy continues The Grid franchise has been busy tearing up the circuits and streets since 2008, when Race Driver: Grid burst onto the scene to critical acclaim – though in truth, the roots of our racing series stretch back into the 1990s. TOCA Touring Car Championship in 1997 created a buzz with its impressive handling and gameplay, and at the beginning of the millennium, TOCA Race Driver took things to another level. A wide range of racing experiences and a gripping story, introducing us to Nathan and Ryan McKane, set the tone for four Grid games to date, expanding the car list, racing disciplines, locations, online action, and engrossing single-player options. Whilst the series has taken plenty of different forms in the past 24 years, every title has remained true to three vital factors: Action-packed racing, incredible motorsport variety, and creating memorable racing stories on and off the track. Grid Legends delivers on these key features – and then some. Take a closer look at today’s trailer, and you’ll see what I mean… Play Video Trailer Breakdown The Grid Legends story A first for the franchise, Grid Legends’ story will be played out via innovative virtual production, blending a fantastic real-life cast, stunning set, and thrilling gameplay to bring you closer to the action than ever before. As the legendary Grid World Series returns for another year, you will be in the spotlight, as a fly-on-the-wall documentary captures every confrontation, all of the paddock politics, and every pivotal moment in the championship, as you challenge the infamous Ravenwest Motorsport, and the McKanes, for dominance on and off the track. The whole team here is incredibly excited to introduce this new form of storytelling to Grid, brought to life by a world-class crew and cast, including the brilliant Ncuti Gatwa (Netflix’s ‘Sex Education’). Prepare to watch the drama unfold off the track, but also be ready to handle your business on it, as a unique racing story plays out – with you in the middle of it all. Racing variety Whilst our story is what weaves this trailer together, there is so much more to unpack – including a first look at some of the cars you’ll get behind the wheel of come next year. Continuing the franchise’s legacy of racing variety, over 100 cars will feature in Grid Legends, stretching from single-seaters, to big rigs, to classic touring cars, and plenty more. Expect machines from an array of motorsport eras, exemplified in our trailer by the likes of the Shelby Cobra 289 FIA, Audi A4 Quattro BTCC, and Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro Concept. All cars will be upgradable as you progress through Grid Legends, too; more on that in the near future. That’s a taste of what you’ll be racing, but what about where you’ll be racing? The Grid series has always excelled in providing a diverse combination of real and unique fictional locations to compete at, and Grid Legends is no different. In fact, it’s even better. 130 routes will await you on launch, including iconic real-life tracks like Indianapolis, returning Grid favourites such as San Francisco and Paris, and brand-new locations like Moscow and London, which you may’ve spotted in the trailer. From purpose-built tracks, to high-speed ovals, to tight and twisty streets, the racing challenges on offer in Grid Legends are broader than ever. Grid Legends Race Creator The possible combinations of car, class, and circuit for a Grid Legends event are clearly vast – but the options don’t stop there. By popular demand, Drift events return, shown off in the trailer by the awesome Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Drift-Tuned getting seriously sideways. All this and more can be used in our race creator tool to create your dream racing event. Want to race single-seaters against big-rigs, in the snow, for 50 laps? How about putting multiple GT classes on the track for a rainy sprint around Brands Hatch? Go for it. We’re giving you the tools to create amazing races – and allowing you to take those events online and challenge the world. Grid Legends launches 2022 All this only scratches the surface of what Grid Legends will deliver next year. In the coming months, we’ll share more on the story and its characters, more cars, more locations, and more new features that make this the most customisable and social Grid experience ever. I’ll see you then. For now, I’m going to watch the reveal trailer for the 146th time… can you blame me? http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/y4h85N7RzhUView the full article

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Season 5 released this week with an adventurous new theme, inviting players to a super-colourful stumble in the jungle…but not everything is as it seems! Ratchet and Clank have tumbled through a rift to the Blunderdome and have decided to stick around to host two Limited Time Events; extra-special opportunities for players to unlock unique costumes and rewards, fresh for Season 5. We’ve teamed up with PlayStation to let you know what to expect from this dimension-hopping extravaganza, with an artistic insight into how the team brought Insomniac Games’ iconic duo to life… in bean form! Play Video Building a Bean… Designing Fall Guys costumes based on well-established characters such as Ratchet and Clank is always an exciting and interesting creative challenge. As an Art Team, we always want to make sure that our creations feel like a Fall Guy wearing a costume—as if our little beans are championing and cosplaying a character rather than ‘becoming’ them. Our goal is to reflect this back onto our players’ experience. Sure, a player may pick a costume just because it looks cool and that’s great! But we’re hopeful that many choose to rock a costume because they love the collaboration characters as much as we do and want to show off their fandom to the world through expressing themselves in the Blunderdome. Concept art created by the Fall Guys team as they began to imagine how Ratchet and Clank could look in bean form. Bringing Ratchet and Clank to the Blunderdome When picking characters for a Fall Guys collaboration, one of the defining factors is asking ourselves; “do we think this is cool?” We’re huge gaming fans as well as artists, so if there’s not passion behind the selection, we’re never going to get the great results Fall Guys players deserve. As soon as the possibility of crafting both Ratchet and Clank in bean form came up, the decision was never in doubt; we all wanted to do it! On a personal level as lead artist, Ratchet and Clank are a genuine benchmark. The games they star in show such ambition and the art direction has always left me astounded. As characters, they are instantly recognisable and appealing, so it immediately felt like a great opportunity. A Fall Guy peeks out of their in-development Clank costume as the 3D team begin to work their magic. Hyped as we were, bringing Ratchet and Clank costumes to Fall Guys presented our Art Team with a classic design conundrum. How do you take iconic characters and wrap them around a little bean so that they feel like a Fall Guy, but are also suitably true to the source material? How do you craft a Lombax bean?! Luckily, we’re getting pretty well practiced at this with multiple Fall Guys costume collaborations under our belts and have a core set of rules to abide by. These inform how much of the base Fall Guy has to remain visible and crucially, how the costume can be divided into Upper and Lower parts to combine with other costumes (safe to say, we absolutely love seeing players’ surreal, creative costume combos!) Ratchet costume art concepts are then brought to life by the Fall Guys 3D team. Once these limits are established, we start with our first concepts, testing shapes and experimenting with the details we need to include that will truly showcase the essence of characters like Ratchet and Clank. It’s an intricate process to make sure the likes of Ratchet’s archetypal Lombax ears and Clank’s chunky robotic features look just right for the Blunderdome! There’s a bit of back and forth between our artists and the lovely team at Insomniac Games, as we collaboratively work to agree on designs that we can both be proud of (they’re super cool, so that part is really easy!) We then move these concepts onto our super talented 3D team to get the game models going and after a bit more back and forth…here we are! Two awesome costumes and an array of cosmetic treats that we believe combine the spirit and iconic look of Ratchet and Clank, through the filter of our silly and slightly clumsy Fall Guys. We absolutely cannot wait for you to grab them for yourselves! Here’s how… Teleport to Ratchet and Clank Limited Time Events! This interdimensional crossover will see Fall Guys players issued with special challenges from the galaxy’s most stupendous duo in two rocket-fuelled Limited Time Events. These will have you racing against the clock to unlock a dazzling array of both Ratchet and Clank costumes, banners, emotes and other cosmic cosmetic treats! Ratchet Limited Time Event will be dropping July 26 – August 1 The Ratchet Limited Time Event brings a whole week of special Challenges from the hot-shot heroic Lombax, with the exclusive opportunity to unlock. Ratchet Banner: 600 points Lombax Pattern: 1000 points Ratchet Costume (Lower): 1600 points Groovitron Emote: 2000 points Ratchet Costume (Upper): 3200 points Clank Limited Time Event is set to stumble on August 6 – 15 Clank brings a new set of challenges and oodles of exclusive futuristic rewards for players to get their hands on, featuring… Clank Banner: 600 points Clank Pattern: 1000 points Clank Costume (Lower): 1600 points Clank’s Laugh Emote: 2000 points Clank Costume (Upper): 3200 points Plus, if you complete both events, you’ll obtain an ultra-special banner featuring the new Lombax Resistance fighter, Rivet! Play Video Dive into Fall Guys Season 5! Limited Time Events are just one facet of Fall Guys’ Season 5 jungle adventure. This major update drenches the Blunderdome with glistening pools, tropical Penguins and even a mysterious Lost Temple to explore, spread across multiple dazzling new Rounds packed with fresh mechanics and our signature ridiculous obstacles. Stumble in now for… Six new Rounds – From rambunctious rhinos to multiple perilous paths to expanding frogs, we’ve got half a dozen new Rounds to test your bean dexterity! Squad goals – Jump in with pals to take on the Blunderdome including limited time Duos and Trios shows. Costumes – Oodles of new looks for the most fashionable (or outrageous!) beans. Even more Limited Time Events – More chances to take on special challenges and unlock unique goodies. Smoother stumbles – Numerous fixes and improvements for an optimal tumbling experience. It’s been quite a year for the team at Sucker Punch (and for everyone). Last July, we shipped Ghost of Tsushima while working from home. Since then, we’ve been overwhelmed with gratitude by the positive responses we received from players all over the world. One year later, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is set to be released on August 20. We can’t wait to share new stories of Jin Sakai with all of you! Play Video As part of the Director’s Cut, you’ll be able to play a new story expansion featuring Jin, set on Iki Island with new locations to discover, characters to meet, tales to complete, and more. Jin’s journey begins when he discovers that a mysterious Mongol tribe has gained a foothold on Iki. They are led by a revered shaman called Ankhsar Khatun, known to her followers as “the Eagle.” As both a khatun and a shaman, she is not only a conqueror of nations, but a shepherd of souls. And the danger she presents to Jin and his people is unlike any they have faced. The only way to counter this threat is for Jin to return to Iki Island. He’s been there once before. And in confronting a new and dangerous enemy, he will be forced to face old fears, and unearth deeply buried traumas. As you explore a new island and battle new threats, you’ll also delve into the dark past of clan Sakai… Our semi-fictional version of Iki Island provides a stark contrast to Tsushima. It is a wild, lawless land of raiders and criminals, scarred by memories of war, and fiercely independent; the samurai have not been in control there for decades. Skilled though he is, Jin can’t take on the Mongols alone. He will have to work with—or around—a coterie of unsavory characters to take the fight to the Eagle. The cost of failure is too high. If the Eagle and her tribe subdue Iki and muster the support of its people, Tsushima and the rest of Japan will be in grave danger. The stories you find on Tsushima are filled with action and adventure. The same is true for Iki Island. In the fight to save Iki, Jin will encounter pirates and smugglers, mad monks and haunted caves. There will be new legends to hear, and new techniques to learn. Jin will have to bring all his skills to bear to defeat this new enemy. We’ll also continue telling intimate, emotional, personal stories. Stories about real people struggling to let go of old hatreds and survive in a time of war. Stories about how it feels to be caught between preserving cherished beliefs and defending your home. What it means to be Lord Sakai… and what it means to be the Ghost. With everything that has happened this past year, it’s no accident we also wanted to tell a story of healing… And we felt this would pose a unique and compelling challenge for Jin. We all suffer wounds, from the humblest farmer to the mightiest jito. Wounds from the past that we carry with us. And the thing about a wound is that you can’t fight it, or stealth your way around it. Ghost weapons and samurai techniques won’t help you. A wound can only be healed. The Iki Island story expansion will be available as part of the Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut. You can pre-order now for $69.99 USD / €79.99 / £69.99 on PS5 and $59.99 USD / €69.99 / £59.99 on PS4, or if you already own Ghost of Tsushima on PS4, you can pre-order an upgrade to Director’s Cut on PS4 for $19.99 USD / €19.99 / £15.99. We are so thrilled that you will once again be able to experience our world through the eyes of Jin Sakai! It was a joy and a privilege to write for such a gifted cast… some you will recognize, and some will surprise you (and maybe both). There’s so much more to tell, which we’re excited to share leading up to our launch on August 20. And when you join us on Iki Island, bear in mind the advice of a wise woman named Yuriko: “The strength we need is all around us.” Looking around at my team and what we accomplished in this difficult year, I think she’s right. And I think Jin Sakai would agree. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/FWoCqeKsQzoView the full article

Hey everyone! I’m Blake Gross, co-founder and technical director at DB Creations, a VR game studio in Bellevue, Washington. We’re super excited to announce that our game, Rhythm ‘n Bullets, is coming to PlayStation VR very soon. In the game, you will travel across the virtual zone and defend the core by guiding a pair of starfighters through multiple modes of shoot ’em up action. Enemies fly in from all sides, diving towards the core in time with the music. Time your shots to the beat for maximum effect, and grab awesome power-ups to clear each stage. Keep the core safe from danger in the multi-level campaign, and then try to top the leaderboards in endless mode, where the enemies never stop! If you just want to jive to the music, hop into relax mode and practice your skills on any of the levels – spawn any enemies you want and change the beat to fit the mood. Play Video Rhythm ‘n Bullets is inspired by classic retro shooters with its wireframe aesthetic, bullet color change mechanic, and music infused gameplay. We wanted to recapture the magic of those arcade games that many of us played when we were younger, while making an awesome and immersive experience for the latest generation of VR technology. Rhythm ‘n Bullets takes those classic ideas and makes them fresh and new all over again by putting you right at the center of the arcade action. The music was composed in-house by Jesse Holt, our amazing composer and audio director. The soundtrack, like the gameplay, blends the classic with the new, infusing retro motifs with modern electronic music. Each level has a custom track composed for the environment – we built the levels and the soundtrack hand in hand, so that they would blend together harmoniously. The levels also react to the music as you progress in them – a spectrogram guides your path in the Japanese Garden, constellations light the sky to prominent notes in the Galaxy Zone, and the whole world pulses to the beat in Tech City. The music blends into the gameplay, reflecting how well you play – as your combo multiplier increases, the music builds to match it. When you’re playing your best, you’ll feel maximum presence as the music, environment, and gameplay all seamlessly blend and draw you into the action. For the PS VR release, we’ve added a bunch of awesome enhancements to the game, ensuring this truly is the definitive Rhythm ‘n Bullets experience. Firstly, we added a new challenge system that rewards you for exploring all the game has to offer. We wanted to ensure that anyone who plays the game gets rewarded, while also giving completionists even more things to hunt down (besides that top slot on the leaderboards). From campaign clears to endless mode runs, there’s something for everyone to chase and complete. And what do you get for finishing these challenging new objectives? Ships skins! These skins allow you to customize how your ships look when you play, across any mode. Each one is a brand new look that really stands out, with a unique paint job and color scheme. Collect them all, if you can. We also made big improvements to the music generation system, which dynamically adjusts the sound effects that are played based on the music. Our generative notes now better match the track playing in the level, which greatly enhances the audio experience on each and every level. This release also includes full localization for French, Italian, German, and Spanish, so more of our friends around the world can play. Finally, we added a brand new level theme Retro, which includes brand new music and an abstract environment that feels straight from the 2000s era of gaming. The Retro theme is inspired by classic games from our lives, and is designed as a nostalgic trip back into the games we loved in the past. With a rockin’ chiptune inspired soundtrack, we thought there was no better way to make this the true definitive version of the game. We’re so excited to be bringing the awesome retro arcade action of Rhythm ‘n Bullets to PlayStation, and can’t wait to see you all climbing the leaderboards this July. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/wEywoEye5lQView the full article

Our team is thrilled to share the opening chapters of their trailblazing PlayStation VR title, Fracked, available right now at PlayStation Store as a completely free-to-play demo! The full game has been confirmed as launching on August 20 and we cannot wait to hear your thoughts about this new action-adventure entry in the PS VR library. Play Video Play for yourself You can now take to the Alaskan slopes with PlayStation Move and check out the explosive gameplay in Fracked for yourself by heading over to the PlayStation Store. The full game will be releasing to the public on August 20, with up to 72 hours of early access and bonus content for those of you who pre-order the Deluxe Edition. What can you expect from the demo? An explosive mix of on-foot, climbing, and skiing gameplay all housed within the opening part of the game! Speed down snow-covered mountain caps, head into gun-fights, and take on relentless interdimensional foes. Early days and play style From our experience with past titles, we knew we wanted to provide an immersive game with varied methods of traversal. Exploring those other traversal methods were a big inspiration for us. We knew climbing worked well in VR, and we also created a skiing demo that became so addictive that people kept coming back to play. We knew then that we had something really worth exploring. The demo opens with our hero in the aftermath of an avalanche, and after signalling to mountain rescue for assistance, you’re tasked with outrunning the next impending snowdrift. This nail-biting ski section immediately immerses the player into the action from the start with intuitive 1:1 movement. After this epic escape, the experience switches gears to equally frenetic combat and climbing scenarios as you head deeper into the adventure. Game design and immersion Grabbable cover is a core gameplay mechanic in Fracked which re-energises the genre. We’ve actually got a term for it called run and cover gunplay. That is a big part of the innovation in this game. These are concepts that would usually be at odds with each other but are designed to keep the combat fresh. One moment, as the hunter, you’re feeling like a real Hollywood action hero, but as you become overwhelmed, you intuitively grab cover for respite. As the power dynamic switches, cover becomes a necessary tactical strategy to outmaneuver the enemy as you become the prey. There’s lots of fun arcade-like experiences in VR, but they’re generally short and often on-rails. We set out to provide our take on a more conventional campaign experience, with full freedom of movement. We wanted to provide players with well-trodden and much-loved conventional gameplay tactics, such as how to best flank an enemy position, then enhance it with VR. We wanted to demonstrate to a wider gaming audience that VR can evolve the typical gaming experience as well as provide unparalleled immersion. Roleplay and player enjoyment We’ve learned that roleplay is incredibly important to premium-feeling VR experiences. Players want to embody a character and almost play the part, but it is a balancing act. You never want roleplay to get in the way of fun, and it should not come at the cost of player enjoyment. We set out to break convention and really deliver on a fast-paced, first-person shooter experience. This factored into the design of having new magazines appear below the gun for a manual reload, rather than you having to navigate an arbitrary menu or fumbling with virtual pouches. We don’t want gameplay mechanics breaking the thrilling pace of the action. We feel that in VR you can get caught up on the technology and lose sight of what the gaming audience want, which is just a really fun game. With a great gaming experience as your priority, you ask yourself how VR can elevate tried and tested FPS sensibilities, rather than focusing on providing a VR tech demo. You need that player first mentality. How can VR improve gaming experiences? Quick Recap The nDreams team can’t wait for you to get your hands on Fracked for yourself, and for you to experience this reimagining of the action-adventure genre. Fracked will launch globally on August 20, with Deluxe Edition access starting on August 17. You can check out the demo right now at PlayStation Store. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/OspGJBiL_vEView the full article

Oh, yes! An Expedition awaits. What a joyous time to embark on an adventure, detonate explosives, and fight off hordes of undead Kalguur. To what end, you ask? Riches, glory, and power. Of course. Path of Exile’s latest expansion can be played today and includes all the hallmarks of the best games in the action RPG genre – powerful items, intense combat and, of course, terrifying, everpresent death. In Expedition, you’ll assist Kalguuran traders in their efforts to recover the artifacts lost by their ancestors. Unable to fight the dangers of Wraeclast alone, they enlist your violent services to clear out their Expedition sites so that they may plunder the treasures buried below. You must strategically lay a series of explosives, detonate them, and then cull the deadly horde that rises from the earth. If you can manage this, ancient Kalguuran artifacts will be yours for the taking. Each of the Kalguuran traders provides a unique style of trade, offering the opportunity to deal, barter or gamble the artifacts in exchange for their tempting wares. You may also discover Logbooks which chronicle the whereabouts of many hidden treasures from their past. These Logbooks can be crafted to maximise their danger and level of rewards. Take them to Dannig, the Kalguuran leader, and he’ll give passage to these far-off locations. These sprawling Expedition sites expose an unfathomable horde of monsters once unearthed. These areas can also contain secret passages which lead to exotic treasures and formidable bosses. In addition to the tempting lure of hidden treasure in the Expedition League, you’ll also uncover 19 new ways to build your character. Path of Exile is all about customising your gameplay to your heart’s desire and one of the fundamental building blocks of doing so is through skill and support gems. In this expansion, we wanted to really shake up Path of Exile’s metagame by providing a swathe of new options for character building. As such, we designed 19 new gems that are each themed around our Ascendancy Classes. One of our favourite gems from this lineup is the new Summon Reaper skill, it was designed for Necromancers and summons a powerful minion which performs powerful attacks that cause enemies to bleed, can be commanded to attack specific locations, and literally feeds off of your other minions. There’s also the Spectral Helix gem which was designed for the Ascendant. It throws out a ghostly copy of your weapon which spirals outward from your location, harming any enemies it passes through. As an extension of our desire to shake up Path of Exile’s metagame, we’ve also made some massive balance changes. Expedition is Path of Exile’s 30th expansion since its Closed Beta, and because every expansion introduces powerful new options for character building, players are now more powerful than ever. The balance changes in Expedition will help to restore the challenge that Path of Exile is known for. We’ve also reworked our flask system to encourage more thoughtful, interactive gameplay and provide interesting new ways for players to mitigate incoming damage. If you haven’t played before, if it’s been a while since you have, or you’re a regular pro, now is the perfect time to play Path of Exile. Not only is it free to play but right now the entire community is taking up the challenge of finding the new best gameplay strategies and you can be right there with them. In a game where knowledge is power, having a shakeup of this scale really levels the playing field. Each expansion introduces a fresh economy and competitive ladder for you to make your mark in. You can also complete challenges in exchange for exclusive cosmetic rewards! Did we mention it’s free? (No, really – no demo version, no pay to win. Just cosmetics, if you want.) If you find yourself absorbed in the world of Wraeclast, you’ll be happy to know that we put out expansions every thirteen weeks. We hope to see you there. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/el261fzZqBcView the full article

Hey there! It’s Goldie and Jason from the Wayward Strand team, based in Melbourne, Australia. We’ve been working on this game since 2016, when our ideas were just doodles on scraps of paper, so it feels both incredibly exciting and quite surreal to be here on the official PlayStation Blog to tell you our exciting news: Wayward Strand will be coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4! Play Video Wayward Strand is a new type of playable story, set in a living world. It’s a thoughtful, heart-warming tale, woven together from multiple distinct threads, all of which play out simultaneously aboard an airborne hospital in 1970s Australia. (Yep – that’s the hospital airship up there!) You play as Casey, a teenage girl visiting the hospital for the first time. Your mum is the head nurse of the brand new hospital that’s being constructed on the airship, and she’s asked you to spend three days in the aged care ward, where you’ll explore the mysteries of the ship, and get to know the elderly patients and staff. There are over a dozen characters who live or work on the airship that you can meet and spend time with, each going about their lives as you explore. Some are charming, some eccentric, some rude – each has their own desires, goals and imaginations. You’ll meet Esther Fitzgerald, an eccentric older resident who used to work as a psychic on call-in radio and who now communes with spirits aboard the ship. Esther can be blunt, and won’t hesitate to tell you whatever’s on their mind – if you can prove that you’re trustworthy enough to confide in. Or, you might meet Neil Avery – before becoming a resident he had a successful career as a motivational speaker and writer of self-help books, and he’s planning to write a book about the ship itself. He’s friendly and very talkative, and has almost too much advice for Casey on her fledgling career as a high school journalist. During your playthrough of Wayward Strand, as you are spending time with one character on the ship, the others will continue their day. Within the world, time passes for everyone – NPCs continue their stories without waiting for you to interact with them. This is the core mechanic that defines Wayward Strand – as a team we’ve spent the last five years crafting the intricately interwoven stories of each characters’ life over the course of these three days, defining and detailing how they each interact with, and bounce off, each other. This means that the actual experience of playing Wayward Strand feels incredibly open – you’re dropped into a living, breathing world, where stuff is happening around you all the time. At any particular moment, you are choosing what, and who, to focus on… just like real life. As you play, when you see a character, you can follow them, and listen in on their conversations. You can also go into their rooms and talk with them: asking questions, starting discussions, or joining ongoing conversations. Each time you play Wayward Strand, you can focus on different characters at different times, filling out your understanding of their story, and deepening your personal relationship with them. Each character has their own, unique story, and we explore many themes in their stories – themes of care and neglect, infirmity and death, friendship and community. These are also personal stories – we’ve been inspired by real stories and histories told to us by our grandparents, parents and the older people in our communities as we were growing up. Wayward Strand is a really different experience as a video game, and that speaks to our inspirations – we love games with experimental narrative structures like The Last Express, and we’re also drawing from interactive theatre. Playing Wayward Strand isn’t about challenge, or trying to solve puzzles. It’s about being an active participant in a world full of unfolding stories. We’re super excited to share the experience of Wayward Strand with you. And if you are looking for a game to play with someone who has never picked up a controller before (perhaps someone older in your life) then we feel Wayward Strand is the perfect introduction to the world of videogames. We’ll be sharing more about Wayward Strand soon, so keep your eyes peeled in the coming months. For now we’re busy making it, but we can’t wait until you can play Wayward Strand on your PlayStation next year. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/qvL5eVlEHdkView the full article

Hello PlayStation community! We are Raphael Colantonio and Julien Roby, studio directors at WolfEye Studios, and today we’re proud to announce that our debut title as an independent studio, Weird West, is coming to PlayStation 4 this fall. The West’s full of tall tales… Weird West is all about stories; stories of redemption and honor, yarns of strangeness and oddity, and tales of the down-right disgusting. In our game, you’ll play as five different characters in a series of interconnected journeys, all bound together by the hunt for the truth behind the burning mark they’ve all been branded with. In this blog, we’ll be going over two of those five Journeys. Play Video Thought she could hang up her shootin’ irons for good First up, we’ll be talking about the Bounty Hunter. Once the most respected name in the West, you’ve hung up your shooting irons and taken to a life on the farm after a deathbed promise to your grandfather. But that calm existence won’t last long. In the dead of night, you wake to a burning mark on your neck and the sounds of screaming outside Your son, dead in the dirt. Your husband gone, and only one thing to do: dig up your long-forgotten past and get your revenge. A cowboy drunk on the moon Now onto something more—esoteric—in nature: the Werewolf journey. You’re a Devotee of the Absolutionist faith. You folk have been shepherds of the West, peaceful. But now a rival faction has started exterminating your kind. Prejudice, seems like. Malice. With your numbers dwindling, and the Absolutionist faith nearly wiped off the face of the West, a divine prophecy has shown you how to protect your people. But not without a cost: an affinity for the moon. A rage you can barely contain. Finally, after a blood-fuelled night defending everything you love from thes wrongdoers, you awaken with a burning mark. Sign of a prophecy. What you choose to do with it is up to you… Verify your age to view this content. Verify your age to view this content. You five—you’re tied together Weird West features five of these unique Journeys. However you play—the way you fight, the conversations you have, the posses you create or destroy—will be individual to you in our immersive sim. Shoot at ammo boxes to create makeshift bombs, throw fire into a tornado to create a free-roaming fire hazard, soak your enemies before using lightning for a little extra zap; these are just a few ways the world will react to your gameplay style and let you create your own story when we release this fall. We hope you enjoyed a peek behind the curtain of our debut game. We’re really excited to show you more in the months to come. On July 20, the underground tuner scene in Los Santos roars to life with the launch of GTA Online: Los Santos Tuners. In addition to a ton of action-packed, Tuner-based missions and races, this update introduces the LS Car Meet, a gigantic, shared social space where you and your cherished personal vehicle can mingle freely with fellow car fans to race, show off your customized vehicles, and even link up with shady contacts looking for skilled drivers and a chance at easy money. To get started, you’ll need to visit a non-descript, graffitied warehouse on the edge of town in Cypress Flats — listen close and the sound of engines revving might give it away, or look for the makeshift finish line on the road outside. Inside, the LS Car Meet has a “good vibes only” policy, making it a great place to skip the attention of the law and any small-time chumps looking to terrorize the citizens of greater Los Santos. Park your attitude (and your weaponized vehicles) at the door and share your love of car culture with some like-minded personalities. Here, you’ll find countless ways to immerse yourself in the beating heart of the scene, show off prized personal vehicles from your collection or check out everybody else’s. Dropping GTA$50,000 to become an LS Car Meet Member will get you even more privileges. To start, you’ll unlock a new Reputation progression with new benefits unlocking after each Level. Plus, you’ll get access to the Test Track, a large underground space inside the Car Meet warehouse where you and your friends can drive, drift, and race vehicles freely, without interference from pesky pedestrians or the law. You can also sample new Test Rides in the Test Track – your chance to get behind the wheel of a rotating selection of vehicles and push their limits. Members will also get to compete in rotating Prize Ride Challenges for the opportunity to win a special Prize Ride and get access to a range of special shops and features — including the Merch Shop, Tattoo Shop, and the Modding Area, where you can show off your customization prowess to other players in real time as you work on your stanced build. Higher level Members can also create a Private Takeover complete with customizable lighting and banner colors to decorate the Car Meet space to your tastes. Los Santos Tuners introduces new races inside and outside the Car Meet, each with their own Leaderboards. On the Test Track, you can engage in friendly competitions like Head-to-Head where speed and precision will give you the necessary advantage to best your opponent in a short format race, and Scramble where up to four players race to collect 20 checkpoints. Time Trials around the Test Track give you the chance to put your vehicles through their paces and score your own Personal Record. Up to 30 players will share the track space with you, but contact will be disabled while competing, and members can also go into Private Test Tracks solo. Off the Test Track and throughout the city, there are also new race series for members: Street Race Series and Pursuit Series. The Street Race Series delivers exactly what it says on the can: bruising competition on creative tracks built on the streets of some of Los Santos’ most scenic neighborhoods, complete with shortcuts that are as much about risk as they are reward. The Pursuit Series offers drivers a more open-ended experience, with checkpoints placed sparsely throughout the map to encourage creative routes — after all, you’ll be competing against your fellow racers, as well as having LSPD’s finest hot on your heels. Meanwhile, Sprint offers a point to point challenge in Freemode with up to three other drivers in a breakneck race from the LS Car Meet out to various locations like LSIA and back. In the underground world of the Car Meet, Reputation is a valuable commodity. Earn Rep by participating in races (and more for winning), daily log in bonuses, putting in time on the Test Track, and even just hanging out at the Car Meet. Earning Rep gets you an assortment of rewards to elevate your status in the scene — these include unlocking access to all sorts of fashionable gear, flashy new car customization options like new wheels and liveries, as well as Trade Prices on certain vehicles, access to new Race modes, and even the ability to hold your own private Car Meet. Naturally, this update to GTA Online will inject a whole new ensemble of fresh vehicle inventory across Los Santos dealerships — ranging from imported tuner cars from Annis, Dinka, Übermacht, and more to that straight up Vapid muscle that Americans have come to know and love. There will be 17 new cars in total over the course of the summer, with 10 dropping at launch on July 20. Plus, when GTA Online launches on PlayStation 5 later this year, select vehicles will be upgradable with all new speed improvements and more. These special upgrades will be available only on the PlayStation 5 version of Grand Theft Auto V — stay tuned for more details. Playing GTA Online from now until the launch of Los Santos Tuners will give you the opportunity to earn some special rewards. Just “Meet Up” by playing GTA Online anytime between now and launch to get the Los Santos Customs Tee, and participate in any Impromptu Race (accessible via the Interaction Menu) to receive the Los Santos Tour Jacket. Stealing and successfully selling a vehicle to LS Customs in Freemode will also earn you the Los Santos Customs Coveralls, perfect for your inner grease-monkey. Claim your rewards by playing Los Santos Tuners on or after July 20. Your items will land in your Wardrobe 72 hours after logging in after July 23. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/v3ZJft4XyzUView the full article
