In addition to the PlayStation Move support for MAG announced today at the gamescom 2010 press conference, we have a bunch of additional info we saved specifically for our community:

 

Specifically, we're announcing a brand new MAG Beta that starts next Tuesday (August 24) that will give you guys the opportunity to play and test...

 

 

• The Escalation Game Type -- battle it out with all three factions at once on three never-before-seen maps
  
• New Weapons -- each PMC has access to three new guns (9 total) for added firepower
  
• Clan Deploy -- a highly-requested community feature that allows clan leaders to launch games with up to 128 clan members in a single match
  
• Updated Skill Tree -- enjoy more customization than you've ever had before with new skills and an improved progression system
  
• In-game Economy System -- earn "credit points" by completing objectives and killing enemies to purchase new weapons and gear
  
• Additional Character Slots -- Create a persona for Raven, Valor and SVER on one account for maximum testing flexibility

When I say the games not very much fun without a clan. I mean playing with a clan or group that is totally into it. Not a few who are into it and others that gripe and moan. The beauty and addiction of this game is when all of the command and teamwork elements come together. You have an OIC coaching your guys along. And all of the SL and PL are working together. That's when the game is amazing.

Like last night for example. We're battling SVER for like 10 minutes. Our team has our bunker down and were working on getting more down. The fighting is intense and it's like a bubble bursts or something. We break through the AAA and all of the bunkers are smoking. You hear air raid sirens and the OIC's yelling give them Hell. Which means really we finally got past the AAA and our Bombers can start pushing SVER back. But then it's a massive fight at the letters (oil pumps). But if your with a good team your can work your way in and hold them down. What your doing is trying to damage there Oil Pumps. While your in there damaging steam from the control panel is spraying out. And SVER got to get in there and patch it up. Too much damage and blewy.

 

We should put together a UF get to know MAG team and play.

Those are the moments myself and a ton of people we had all wanting to play together in the ACC were all looking forward to and then we found out that you could only get 8 in a group. It's really difficult to have and impact on a 256 or 128 player battlefield when you only have 8 guys. Depending on the other 56 people on your team to do their jobs and not being able to communicate with them was very frustrating. Most people I know just put this game on the shelf or traded it in. It's been what almost a year now? It's going to be hard to get people interested in a game that is a year old and that left such a bad taste in their mouths.

Zipper always said it was an evolving game. And they listen to there players and are changing stuff around.. Now you'll be able to have your entire clan in one game. Up to 128. And now use the Command structure in your clans and use then in game. And it's part of the game.What other game has that?

LOL so I went to my "local" Blockbuster today to return "Brooklyn's Finest" and "Battlefield Bad Company 2." I put quotes around local, because this blockbuster is 2 towns over. I was forced to go there after the one in my town closed 2 years ago. I would have dropped the items in the drop box, but intended on going inside to rent MAG and check it out. I walk in to see the entire store is for sale and there are no more rentals, as the store is closing September 1st.

Yep. I think Netflix started their demise and Rebox sealed the deal. There aren't any Blockbusters left in N/W Indiana. They did however pepper the hell outta the area with their kiosk. I will give Blockbuster props on their online kiosk rental though. It's a hell of a lot better than Redbox.

 

But back on topic. I wanna say it's too little too late, but it's really just too late. Because this is really a great addition. But almost YEAR LATER?!! What the hell where they thinking releasing a 256 player game that only grouped eight people together?! I think this community would have totally embraced this game if this was released with the game. But I think most here are in agreement that there're not gonna go pick up this game now because of this update.

Haaaa..... Some of you never had a too little too late. So it's new to you.

 

We should though is form a couple of groups. Then we can just game each other. Because until you reach LVL 20 at least the game is a little tough. And a lot of players especially coming off of COD hate it because it's tough and they don't understand how to really play the game.

Yeah Blockbuster's demise came when Netflix and ultimately Redbox were introduced. They were especially hurt by Gamefly as both Movies and Games were offered and readily available to consumers in a better fashion, sans the late fees. I haven't seen any of the Blockbuster Kiosks yet, but have read about them. My area had a Blockbuster store in 5 of the 6 outlying towns. It's now down to 2, so I expect to see the Kiosks spring up shortly.

A little update and clearly.

It's Clan Deploy and not Clan Wars as we might understand it. What they are doing is making it so that your clan can all group together and play . But there still going to be playing in the shadow war. Thats the way I understand it. If they did clan wars it would basically ruin the game because it would be tough to fill the ques.

The WAR is still though the Shadow War PMC vs PMC. Thats the Clan War.

The This will officially begin it Sept.

The beta has play times when tit will be open. Basically during Zipper business hours.
