Assignment, Please Help - WEB 2.0 Scenario Based Presentation

Hey UF,

 

Ok, so I need some help. My information Systems Class has a Scenario based presentation due next week.

 

The Scenario is: Two Groups within our company Logistics (my group), and Shipping Receiving and Warehousing have to convince the C.E.O of the company (The Prof), to either invest in Web 2.0 or not invest in 2.0.

 

the stuff is pretty easy, answer some questions, use excel and powerpoint....

 

The thing I need help with is: 15% of the our mark with based on a wow factor, During our presentation we need to make the C.E.O (The prof) say ooohhh, ahh, or wow. It can be anything, I assume it has to relate to WEB 2.0 (Social networking sites, RSS, Blogs, w/e 2.0 entails) he gave us no criteria for it, other that it has to set us apart from other groups and make him say wow.

 

Any ideas of how I can do this? Once is hard enough, but three times will be a challenge.

 

I was thinking of maybe bringthing this up in the presentation if I got good responses, saying that social networking helped

I think a little more information is needed. Which are you going to convince him...invest or not? Some details as to how you are going to do either would be helpful.

We are going to try to convince him we should do it.

 

Our Company is a pet food company, we had three stages of the company.

 

First stage: anti-Tech (very very late adopters) We sell to suppliers

 

Second: Huge investment in tech, state of the art, S A P systems. (early Adopters)

One to one customer relationship: we only sell Via the Internet.

 

Third: we were purchased by Nestle, and they think Web 2.0 is a good idea. (Early Adopters)

Lol, maybe I'll switch my position and use this for support to why we shouldn't invest in WEB 2.0

 

Although, naked pics will elicit a wow initially, it will definately illicit a woah, wtf were you thinking/FAIL. And I am sure that the wow factor has to relate some sort of benefit for WEB 2.0.

 

something really cool about web 2.0 technology, stats about a company using twitter and earned millions extra in sales.... or a crazy new thing thats out or comming out.
