THE PASSWORD

There is something SERIOUSLY going wrong with the sanctity of the UF war room, everyone.

 

We had a password change on THURSDAY.

We did this, because UF4 wars were being invaded by impostors posing as me and coming into the wars of various clans here. So we changed the password, and that password change was being put on hold until the final outcome of the Clan Rep vote on O-K was handled.

When the decision was delivered, O-K's Clan Rep had his access to the Clan Rep section removed, and THEN the new password was delivered to all Clan Reps to pass out to their clan mates.

 

How is it that just TWO DAYS LATER, a war between 101 and --> had THEIR war invaded by someone ELSE posing as [APC] Smokeosama with a fake name, but what's worse, he/she ALSO KNEW THE -NEW- PASSWORD.

 

This means one of two things, people, and we are NOT sure which it is....but EITHER one is an offense to this community:

 

1: Careless clansmen in your camp are either giving away the password to those who SHOULD NOT HAVE IT, or careless clansmen are typing up the password in a public lobby or in a server's lobby for their other clan mates who are asking what the password might be. Then someone ELSE is getting that password and messing around with this wars.

 

2: We have some very spiteful and childish players WITHIN the tourney right now who are just making new names and, on their nights off of wars, are just making a new name or two and messing around with those who HAVE wars going on.

 

BOTH of these possibilities are plausible....and stoppable.

PLEASE instruct your clansmen to be positively more careful with these passwords. We ask that in the rules and we ask that for a reason. This tourney is invitation-only, which makes these passwords PRIVILEGED KNOWLEDGE. Please do not be careless in tossing this password over the mic in public rooms or typed up on public servers. Do not post it up in public sections of your forums.

 

And IF (and we all hope it's not) the possibility that this individual(s) is someone STILL IN the tourney just having moronic fun at the expense of others who are NOT doing this to you, PLEASE STOP.

 

I would appreciate it if this entire post can be copied and posted on all of your respective forums so that all of your members who may not be registered here on the UF forum can READ IT.

We have NEVER had this bad of an offense regarding the passwords before, and we should NOT be having these problems now.

 

Please take better care of the trust that's placed in these passwords.

There will MOST LIKELY be another password change given to the Clan Reps at the Sunday Meeting this weekend.

Damn...I don't even have the pass yet, and i'm IN UF...lol. It is quite stupid and childish though.

 

#3 could be that some asshole actually plays two clans...one still in UF, and one out...or has been subbing in for a clan on other names...just another possibility, happens alot in GB.
