And by the way, the police can't do shit. Once they file the report, that's it. It becomes a civil issue.

If she's smart, she'll come to a settlement with the parents. Small claims court doesn't do shit. You go through the trouble of suing someone and taking them to small claims court, but there's not really any way of forcing them to pay. In the end if they choose not to pay, it shows up as a blemish on their credit report. It ends up as a pain in her ass and she gets nothing out of it.

I think he's 15, so he probably doesn't have car insurance, but homeowner's or renter's insurance would.

If it was parked on the street, I'd talk to a lawyer first. I'm not saying you won't be held liable, but if she was parked on the street and it was an accident, you may not be held liable for the full cost or he might be able to arrange it so that you can decide where the car goes for repair.

I just ran this through my bullshit translator and this is what came up: "SOCOM: Confrontation State of the Union The game has been out for 3 weeks and we are really getting desperate to put an end to all the bitching. You're a grumpy bunch of bastards who won't give us a moment's peace, even after we pushed the game to an early release because you were sick of the delays. Now we're having to jump through hoops to placate you impatient sons of bitches. We released patch 1.20 last Tuesday and we were actually able to take a day off, but our relaxation time didn't last long. Now we're going to try and push 1.30 out the door to you so that we can hopefully enjoy the 3 day weekend. Here's a list of some other bullshit that we're going to try to release with 1.30 as long as we can still get it out before the long weekend, otherwise, fuck it."

This should be one interesting game. lol That was true up until the last election... The Redskins lost their home game before the election, but the party remained Republican... No, it was true last election. Read how it's worded. If the Redskins win, then the party that won the popular vote in the last election will win the White House. In 2000, the Democrats actually won the popular vote. In 2004 when the Redskins lost, the Republicans won the election.

Do you think that we're under the impression that what is said here makes any difference in the long run? Maybe we've swayed one or two votes either way, but if what you THINK is some kind of victory on an internet message board gives you that kind of happiness, then more power to you. Either way, one of these men will become my Commander in Chief and they will do what they believe to be in the best interest of the country. All I can do is follow the orders I'm given and hope that my Congressmen protect me from any stupid laws that either of these men try to enact. In the meantime, I'm tired of your condescending, holier than though attitude. You go ahead and continue to preach the gospel according to Obama and go join your Holy Obama church. Should McCain win, I just hope that you and the rest of the Obama followers don't drink the poisoned cool-aid. I'm done with this thread.
-
Again, you're drawing the wrong conclusions and trying to put words in my mouth. Instead, read what I write. I've never said that McCain is a better man. I've never said that I'm a better man. I've never said that Obama is a bad man. Let me try to put this in a way so that you can't misunderstand anything I say. IN MY OPINION John McCain proved his character, his honor, his integrity, and his loyalty when over the course of 5 1/2 years he endured countless beatings, torture, and interrogations and still, despite it all, told the enemy NO I WILL NOT DO ANYTHING THAT WILL BRING DISHONOR TO MYSELF, MY FELLOW PRISONERS, OR MY COUNTRY. This, in my eyes, says volumes about what the man is made of and it takes a lot to draw his character into question. IN MY OPINION Barack Obama has put himself into a position to have his honor, loyalty, integrity and character questioned by associating with people such as Rezko, Ayers, and Khalidi. Did Obama do anything questionable when dealing with these people? I don't know, you don't know, we don't know. Did he deal with these people at all? Yes, he has admitted to it. Don't say there's no link because there is. As I said before, when you put yourself into a position to have your integrity questioned, then you've already lost it. That is what Barack has done and he has admitted it was a mistake. I've never said that Obama did anything unethical or illegal, but he has associated with bad guys and therefore it calls his character into question. If you saw me having lunch with Osama Bin Laden I would fully expect you and anyone else to think I was up to no good. It's to be expected. On the other hand, I'm a Naval Officer and as such I will not associate with people of questionable character because I don't want my character called into question. It's that simple. I've never said that McCain hasn't done anything unethical or illegal, he's a politician and I suspect that it comes with the territory. However, he has proven his character and I've seen nothing to make me suspect that he's done anything that would bring his character into question. I hope I have explained my viewpoint well enough that you don't have to try and put words in my mouth to figure out what I'm saying. Before you question my knowledge again or if you don't believe that Obama is linked to these people, feel free to google them. Quotes from him about his relationships are there.

You're so quick to want to sling insults that you don't bother reading. Go back to my post, 2nd paragraph, last sentence, first 2 words: "FOR ME". I said that everyone needs to form their own opinion. On the news, since the primaries I've seen Obama linked to racketeering, Obama linked to a domestic terrorist, Obama linked to the PLO. Once someone questions your integrity, you've already lost it. McCain is not losing based on character. He's losing because Obama is better at making the lower class think that he's going to make things better for them by cutting their taxes. As for the rest of your comment, when you get shot down over an enemy country and you break your arm and your leg and land in the water, there's not much you can do to evade being captured. This does not show his leadership. Him refusing to allow the Vietnamese to use him as a propaganda tool is. All he had to do was say "I want to go home" and the Vietnamese would have released him, but he stuck to the US Code of Conduct which does not allow us to accept furlough or special treatment from the enemy. He also knew how his leaving would be used against the other prisoners. Maybe you should take a few moments to educate yourself about the man you're making jokes about and you may earn a new respect for him.

You don't think being in solitary confinement is a form of torture? He was in solitary for over 2 years of that time. The POW's developed what is called the tap system to communicate with each other. It's basically a coordinate system with the letters broken up over a certain number of rows and you would tap the row and then the position. For example "T" might be on the 4th row, 5th letter, so they would tap 4 times, then 5 times. If you ever meet an actual POW ask them to demonstrate. It's amazing how fast they can tap out a sentence and actually be able to read it. We tried to use it in SERE and it takes a lot of practice. Anyway, that's how the prisoners communicated while in solitary. McCain's father was an admiral and the Vietnamese wanted to videotape him saying that he wanted to go home and then they would release him so that they would look like good people and gain some favor with the bleeding hearts of the world. He refused to say that he wanted to go home so they begin beating and torturing him. Next time you watch him on TV, notice how he never lifts his arms above shoulder height. His right arm was broken when he ejected over Vietnam and the left one was broken when he was being beaten. Neither arm was treated during his imprisonment.

Everyone has skeletons in the closet that someone can root out in order to call your character into question. You can defend Obama like he's the second coming of Christ all you want, but the guy has done some questionable things and he's had dealings with questionable people. It's up to you to form your own opinion based on the facts at hand (key words being "opinion" and "facts at hand"). As far as John McCain goes, the man spent over 5 years in a POW camp, keeping faith with his fellow prisoners, and enduring torture for refusing to give in to his captors demands. I spent one week in SERE as a survivor and being a POW. I can't imagine what 5 years would be like. For me, THAT alone sums up the man's character. I'm sure that most of the country would agree that McCain wins in the character category, so maybe we should just stick to the issues.

Just remember that polls don't mean shit if people don't go out and vote. In order for a poll to be accurate, the sample has to be completely random. So when the pollsters call these homes, usually the numbers come from registered voters, but that doesn't mean it comes from a list of people who will actually vote. Remember that registering to vote is usually done when you go get your driver's license. For the most part it requires no real effort on your part. Sad as it is, voter turnout usually reflects this lack of interest and effort.

I'm going to have to say Eve. Responsible for original sin and the reason women are really bitchy one week out of the month.

You're right in that our country is in a shit hole and we need to get back to fiscal responsibility. I'm all for tax cuts, but not at the expense of anyone else. You want to cut taxes, then you find somewhere else to get the money. I'm sure we're all in agreement that there is enough BS spending and crooked dealings going on to fully fund the bailouts of the housing crisis and to pay for the tax cuts. That is what every candidate should be looking at doing; eliminating bullshit spending in order to circulate THAT money back through the economy, not my money and not your money. We're gamers dude, we'll spend it and do our share, it makes no sense to take even more. I've never said anything about tax cuts for the wealthy and I've never mention socialism. I believe in fairness. The wealthy are wealthy for a reason. For the most part I like to think that they worked their asses off to get there. Why should they be penalized for their hard work? I don't see a reason to cut their taxes unless we're cutting everyone else's taxes.
-
Why should the rich have to give anything back? Why should I have to give anything back? I know we've had similar tax plans in the past and maybe I benefited from it, but as far as I know I didn't. Of course when I was younger I didn't keep up with all that. I went to work, I paid whatever I was told to pay knowing that someday I would make more money and pay more in taxes BUT also have more leftover. Now, I'm being told that the more I make I should feel compelled to give something back? And that I should have to pay a higher rate in order to make me give something back so that those who make less can have more. I don't agree with it. In fact, I don't agree with a flat tax either. I want to see federal income tax go away. I would like to see a federal sales tax. That way you're not taxed based on what you make, rather you're taxed based on what you spend. The biggest reason I would like to see this one day is because hookers, drug dealers, and illegal immigrants have to eat, drink and dress themselves too. Unfortunately that idea probably won't catch on because it would basically require everyone to live within their means and people wouldn't be able to scam the system as easily. And I know that I'll always pay taxes, and no, it's not going to kill me. My issue isn't with paying taxes, my issue is with someone wanting me to pay even more so that others can pay even less. It's that simple.

I'm nowhere near that $250,000 mark, or $200,000 mark based on Obama's commercials, but in the next year or 2 I will be closing in on the $150,000 mark that Biden referred to. Once I hit any of those points, why should I be expected to pay more in taxes so that everyone else can pay less? Right now, why should anyone that is in that range have to pay more in order for me to pay less? I don't like it and I don't think it's right. I don't want to get started on welfare and the homeless. I'll just say this, I understand that there are a few extreme circumstances out there where an individual or a family has a streak of bad luck and they have to call on the government for help. That should be a temporary thing that gets the individual or family back on their feet. But when I see people on welfare with cable, and internet, plasma tv's, it pisses me off to know that my taxes are paying for that. I think we should do away with the welfare system and provide maybe 6 months assistance to those extreme circumstances with no extensions. McDonalds is always hiring and if these people can suck up their pride enough to go file for welfare, then they can suck it up enough to go work at McDonalds. Now then, just because a person is on welfare, doesn't mean they don't work, so you can be on welfare and file for a return. It wasn't until about 3 years ago that I learned you could get more in your refund than you pay into it. For example, my brother in law paid $1500 in income tax over the course of the year when he did work. He claimed his daughter on his income tax return and got a check for $3500. That is under the current tax plan. It's completely ridiculous. I'm sure that the people on welfare who do file income tax returns are probably getting the same deal. Now under Obama's plan, all these people on welfare and people getting these lopsided returns will get even more at the expense of those who make more. How is that fair? I don't like the way taxes are now and I sure as hell don't want to see more of my money or anyone else's money going to pay for BS like this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ilwk_wmsQk Go to the 3:00 mark and watch, or just watch the whole thing. (3:18) "I just wanna make sure that they're paying a little bit more in order to pay for those other tax cuts.
-
How am I not paying attention to the facts? I going by what Obama himself said, which is that he is going to increase taxes for those making more than $250,000 to cover the tax cuts for those making less than $250,000. Maybe you should watch the video again. After that video, he did a commercial where he said the tax increases were for those making $200,000. Then Biden came out yesterday and said it's for anyone making $150,000. I'm not going by anything Fox News or another partisan news source said. I'm going by what I witnessed the candidates themselves saying.
-
Okay, I watched the video again and his message is still the same. If you make more than $250,000 then he's going to tax you more to pay for tax cuts for those making less. That's exactly what he says. His logic is that if he cuts the taxes for those making less than $250,000 then they keep more of their money to build up their businesses to $250,000 then they get taxed more to pay for those making less than $250,000. Sounds like his "spread the wealth" phrase fits perfectly. There is no true definition to what constitutes the American Dream. It's different for everyone, but for the most part it is the dream that if you work long enough and hard enough, then you will be able to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor. My American Dream doesn't include working to pay for yours or anyone else's dream. In addition, originally in that video, he says the line is $250,000. Then it dropped to $200,000. Biden said yesterday it's at $150,000. In the next couple of years my wife and I may reach that $150,000 mark and I'm expected to pay more? I am not rich and when I hit $150,000 I sure as hell won't be considered rich. To the people making $40,000 or $50,000 his plan sounds great and I'm sure that's what he's counting on, but to the rest of us who have worked long and hard, it sounds like a bunch of trash.

I don't think that the reasons for the Iraq War should be a factor in choosing the President. Personally, I said it in another post; does doing the right thing for the wrong reason make it the wrong thing to do? My answer is no. Saddam was a bad man, he's dead, we're trying to help the country stabilize the government, end of story. The difference between McCain and Obama is on Iraq is a matter of time. How much longer will we stay depending on who gets elected. Personally I would like to see it done right so that we don't have to go back. If we announce to the world the day we plan to leave, then the insurgents will just chill and wait till we're gone. That's why we need to make sure their government is strong enough to fight off any insurgency. As far as healthcare, we live in a capitalist society. Money talks and healthcare will always cost an arm and a leg. As far as taxes, the comment that Obama made to Joe the plumber was his dumbest move yet. I was watching tv that morning and I heard it live when he said it. I've busted my ass for 14 years to get to where I am. My wife and I will be breaking 6 figures for the first time in our lives and we're damn excited about it. In addition to that, I've considered opening my own small business. The notion that he would tax me even more so that the people who make less than I do can get a bigger refund every year is absurd. I realize there's more to his tax plan than that statement, but he has said it multiple times and I think that "spread the wealth" goes against everything that America stands for.

Wiz uses a wired mic too and he freezes all the time.

If you check out a few threads at the Playstation.com forums, the conspiracy theory there is that it has to do with the most recent PS3 firmware. A lot of guys say that several of their games freeze since the firmware, SOCOM and COD4 included.
