  1. Hey everyone! IDS Gaming is looking for new members to join up. We are a well established community that support both Playstation 4 & Xbox One. We support all types of gaming but we do specialise in FPS. Our current supported games: Call of Duty: Black Ops III Rainbow 6: Siege Halo Rocket League ..and much more We are looking for people aged 18+ of all skill type looking to join in a fun environment and looking to meet new people. So if interested & for more information you can visit our site and apply: http://www.instantdeathsquad.net/join
  2. As many know the sponsor for the prize pool for the UF on Tour Chicago event failed to follow through and left us in a poor position. With the lower than minimum threshold turnout, we actually did not bring in enough revenue to cover the cost of the event. We were actually comfortable with the latter part because we were led to believe the sponsor was covering the Prize money. This was a difficult position to be in and has affected everyone involved. With that being said we had a second solution worked out, and everything was going to be good. That has since changed. Unfortunately they decided that it was not financially possible to come to our need. While we are disappointed about this, we do respect that they did come to us and actually inform us of their intent to decline. Where that leaves us and those affected: We are still working on a solution to get our teams that earned winnings their compensation. For those that need new checks or have not received them, we will not send new ones until we can send a cashier’s check. We understand that many of you will be upset, and you have every right to be. We are as upset about the situation as you guys are. This is a low blow to our community. We will continue to push forward and our priority is to get the winners taken care of and our next event 100% prefunded. We will continue to be available any time to provide updates on our progress as we work to resolve this situation. For direct contact you can reach us via the Contact Us Form.
  3. Would u guys here at UF be interested in starting this back up
  4. As many have noticed it has been quite stale here for the last year between the unfortunate issues with the Chicago event last year, the overall lack of games and most clans being split across platforms (PS3/PS4). So with that being said I think it's time to let you guys in on what we have been doing and what is here to come. First of all to all of those that have stuck by our side from the community and our Staff members (Dis, Money, Cntry, Doc, Guillermo and Sierra) we are eternally Grateful. It is this core team that has kept the fire lit here at UF and will be the driving force for the next phase in Urgent Fury's progression. Chicago Update Let's get this one out of the way first because it is one of the most important. Many of those following this have seen that I am finally after almost 4 years of lack of work changing industries and going back on the day job grind. What this means is that I am personally paying out the winnings for Chicago. Now this is not all going to happen at once, I will have to pay chunks at a time. I officially start working the first week of September, so I will not see my first paycheck until late September. I have picked up a pretty good paying job in the oil field and hope to have everyone paid within a couple of months or so. Do not take that as a hard date, it's an estimate based my pay rate and my schedule given to me. We are going to pay the teams in reverse order so that I can get more paid quickly. The first place team will be the last paid not only because of the amounts but also because members of that team are the ones responsible for our site, paypal and financial accounts being hacked and attacked. Even though many express that we should not pay them after all that, I would rather get them the winnings and they will never be welcome at one of our events again. I will continue to update the post dedicated to the Chicago event as more info comes. Giveaways We have been doing a ton of giveaways this summer thanks to our friends at Naughty Dog, Pop Cap, and more. Friday we will draw the winner for The Legendary Destiny Giveaway and Monday for the The Shooters Get Weird Giveaway. We also have given away several copies of The Last of Us Remastered. Expect to see continued support and giveaways via the PunchTab Contest App and on our live streams at Twitch. Major Overhaul Inbound Look guys we know 99% of the community has hated the site layout, vbulletin and our attempt to get a system to better track war stats. With that being said over the next few weeks we will be converting to Invision Power Board. We are doing this for several reasons. First and foremost design wise it is much easier to work with and the site design will be much more appealing when complete. We are bringing in Dan who helped with the original SOF Studios design to help with the page and skin designs. Our graphics team is working on an updated look on UF as well. This will be more inviting to PlayStation Players as they visit Urgent Fury for Competition and other activities. One of the many additions will be a Live Streaming portal where members can share their streams and watch other streams from community members as well as our featured streams by developers, PlayStation and Partners. We are adding a revamped video gallery from what we have now. Inadub over at Happy Thumbs Gaming will be featuring their content as well as a few other of our friends. Community Members will be able to submit videos as well for everyone to enjoy. With this conversion, we will no longer have a system to track wars for the time being. Next year we will focus on working with a developer to design a system exactly how we want it to schedule and track leagues, tournaments, etc. We want to build this right so that once launched, every user will be able to showcase what events they played in and how they did. Clans will have full on stats and we can keep an on going leaderboard for those teams and clans competing at Urgent Fury. We have not forgotten about the complaints about the ads. While the ads have covered over half of our monthly costs for the server, many still do not want ads. We get it, we really do. We are going to continue to offer a way for you to remove the ads. IPB has a built in e commerce system that will let you support UF without the pesky ads. The rate will be the same we have now which is $2 per month or $20 per year. We have had several take advantage of this and it will be available day one of the new site launch. We are also offering direct payment now, PayPal is not required. We will however still offer PayPal as an option. All content from the current site will carry over and we will be reorganizing everything before bringing the site online. This will include archiving sections, consolidating some forums and having dedicated forums for the games we will be offering competitions for. Based on the Conversion process, your passwords will not have to be reset either. The Future of Urgent Fury Many are wondering where are we going from here? Well we have a pretty small set of goals, some hefty, some simple but all with one outcome. Our focus for the remainder of the year will be on Destiny and possibly COD: Advanced Warfighter. Cntry and Money are working on a Battlefield 4 event now that the support for it is there. We have a pretty good size group that wants to play this so we are going to give it a shot. Our primary focus will be league style play similar to the good old UF: Black days with an ongoing monthly event for teams to compete in and smaller tournament events built around the same games. Our Live Streaming has been ramped up with the help of a whole new streaming team and we have a few other surprises in store. We will bring back live events in the future but for now our only plans will be at PAX South in San Antonio at the end of January 2015. So to sum it up, once again thanks for all that have stood by Urgent Fury through our trials and tribulations and here is to a bright future. We hope you guys will enjoy what we have in store this fall and welcome many of the new faces coming.
  5. After a long time away, a bit of maturing, I am ready to return to the community. I'm terribly sorry for all the crap i did and said. It was my competitive nature mixed with my immaturity. 3 Years later, Married, 2 year old daughter and my mom has died. However i always want to win, I can now lose with dignity, and stay positive moving forward. I show great leadership, great communication and loyalty. I am looking to either join an established team and make my way to leadership role, or start a brand new team of soldiers and move up the rankings of the UF community. I will be playing on PS4 and XBOX ONE Call of duty, and H-Hour when it releases. Send me a message on PSN- AccurateShot- XBOX- vG WicKeD twitch - http://www.twitch.tv/vg_wicked Twitter- http://www.twitter.com/vg_wicked Youtube- http://www.youtube.com/leftyisback
  6. Is anyone around here still? Mostly all the old clans that were part of UF seem to be dead or inactive. Would love to get some games in with some UF community members or even have some friendly scrimmages. Please PM me or visit our clan site http://www.divineknightsclan.com PS4 - XBOX One and PC
  7. Good morning all! This really shouldn't be an introduction to many of you, but to some it will be. JyK is planning a return to the PS4 once H-Hour hits the shelves. A lot has changed since the old days of JyK. We have all grown up, had kids, careers & even matured a little more. We have all learned that it's just a game, and the most important thing is the friends and family we have met along the way. I go through some of these old threads and laugh at some of the remarks from years past. I look at old familiar screen names and get excited about playing with and against those guys again. Some of you all know me as KnowUrDamRoll. I no longer use that name on the PS4 nor plan on ever using it again. That name came with a lot of bad stuff from my past. Wither it was on gaming or affiliated with a part of my life I want to forget. I have chosen this name, because it kind of represents who I am now. KingJunk and I have discussed bringing back some original members of Socom to H-Hour. He is a busy guy now raising a family and is a full time truck driver. So the reigns have been handed over to me to carry out this clan. I am in the process of bringing the team back together and hope to be more active in the Urgent Fury community moving forward. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, RamblingRedneck
  8. Cheers UF! Just trying to get a general consensus on competitive gaming..ala clan vs. clan tournaments and leagues. With so many titles out there to choose from and the different consoles battling for gamer's attention is there still a large interest from clans around the interwebz? Is CoD still a heavy hitter among clans for doing battle?
  9. We are looking to start community nights back up on Friday and Saturday Nights on COD and BF4, let us know what night you like and what you want to play.

  12. The last week and a half or more have been really crappy for me. I live in Vegas, and its damn hot here. We left a couple of computer’s on when we left the house Monday before last. The A/C went down, then my daughter’s PC and mine over heated and burnt out some components. It took most of 4 days to get the A/C back and another 3 to get the parts to fix both my daughters PC and Mine. I’ve been busy with college classes since then, and I thought my troubles were behind me. Then the **** hit the fan. Specifically, Esports ****. It had in fact been hitting the fan during the entire time I was offline. It probably started just before I went offline, and I was blissfully unaware. My main concern is competitive gaming, Esports (even though I hate to call it that), and a lot of bad things have been happening in Esports lately. I decided to run through these things even if they’re a couple of weeks old, because it touches on some arguments I have had in the past regarding competition and competitive players intolerance for noob and casual players. It’s not a one sided argument either. The link below is the first part. It’s a video of supposedly “professional gamers,” team impact, at a supposedly “professional event,” going off on their opponents and the crowd of spectators and fans. Without those same spectators and fans they wouldn’t be where they are to talk the trash that they are. Their Sponsors were NOT pleased, and it looks like they’re going to lose one of their team members if it hasn’t happened already. The worst thing is that the event organizers didn’t step in to stop them, even when they started trash talking the crowd. These guys are basically cutting off their nose to spite their face. It’s not exactly E for everyone, so if that bothers you don’t watch. http://www.charlieintel.com/2013/08/12/team-epsilon-takes-trash-talking-to-a-new-level-at-umg-atlanta/ Update: End of story, Epsilon dropped the entire team, and two members have left the team. Here’s an article about it. http://www.charlieintel.com/2013/08/12/team-epsilon-takes-trash-talking-to-a-new-level-at-umg-atlanta/ In 2007 WSVG’s season opener in Wuhan China had 100,000 live spectators, that’s 100,000 people actually attended the tournament. By august that same year WSVG was burnt toast. In their last tournament they had technical problems, and the tournament was delayed for most of a day. They finished but they lost their sponsors and that was it. WSVG never recovered. I never found out if they managed to pay off the prize money, but people were complaining about that for months afterward. Sponsors have ditched their obligations for less, and organizers have screwed the pouch on that a time or two themselves. That first video in this post is an illustration of how the players themselves can screw these things up for a lot of others besides themselves. The quote below is from a Starcraft2 write-up on reddit, it’s 10 months old. I’ve included a link in the quote. If you’re reading this entire post, and going thru the links, you’ll find out why this write-up turns out to be nearly prophetic. They’re having some problems, and they’re not the only ones. Present day… MLG has no fall season. There is an invitational tournament for BOPS2 and Dota2 at Winter Park, Florida. That’s it. The prize purses are smaller than usual and the dates were conflicting with a UMG tournament schedule, no one was happy about that. The invitational will also have an impact on seeding for the next season. MLG has dropped SC2, (See the prophetic write-up above) and the rumor is that “riot games” has pulled LoL out of MLG. I haven’t seen confirmation of that yet, regardless, they still don’t have a fall season, and LoL is conspicuously absent from the invitational. I’m virtually certain that MLG is also experiencing issues with their sponsors over this. I’m coming from the Xbox community and I haven’t got a PlayStation yet. Anyone here that can tell me what games on PlayStation now, or planned for future release, have the potential for serious professional competition? I’d appreciate any comments, or explanation/discussion about it, and If I could trouble you for any links for supporting articles or video’s, that would be even better.

  15. A couple of years ago we were contacted by a few friends, Justin a long time Gamer and Tom a Special Forces Veteran, with a vision to bring a game that gave us back what we have been searching for since the release of PS3. These friends created SOF Studios with that goal in mind. We committed to them that Urgent Fury would support the development of such a game. We have known time and time again that is what our community is looking for and many clans have been wandering the gaming space aimlessly in hopes of finding it. Fast forward to now, H-Hour: World's Elite KickStarter Campaign is in its final stretch, David Sears has returned to pick up where he left off with Socom 1 and 2 now powered by technology and tools not available back in the PS2 days. Urgent Fury is fully committed to support H-Hour Start to finish and that leads me to a very humbling announcement. As of last week, I have taken a position at SOF Studios as Community Manager. I have been searching for that next career that captured my passion with Gaming and working with Communities. As you can imagine I am beyond excited. What this means for Urgent Fury. Well since my primary day job will be SOF Studios, I will have to dedicate more of my time at SOF Studios. John will be stepping up to handle more of the work I do on a daily basis at UF. We will also look to fill a Community Management Position at Urgent Fury with a current Staff member or move someone into it. This is going to be a process as I transition into less of an active roll. Everything that we are doing tournament wise, be it live or online will continue to build relentlessly. John will begin to handle more of the relationships with partners and sponsors as well, but I will still be at the live events as well as represent Urgent Fury as an owner. If you have not done so, be sure to head over to the KickStarter and pledge your support as well as register at SOF Studio's site. H-Hour will be powered by Community Development so your feedback matters.
  16. Howdy all! My name is Ben, and I'm an assistant producer and the community manager for a game called Breach & Clear. We're working on a mobile game that we hope is right you your alley here at UrgentFury! Been talking with Shane about our game, and we as a development team thought it would be fun to directly engage gamers (especially core gamers) about their thoughts on a mobile, core-centric title. Breach & Clear is a tactical strategy game where you take control of a small fireteam made up of some of the best special operations teams in the world. At launch, we'll have groups such as the US Army Rangers, US Navy SEALs, US Army Special Forces and Canada's JTF2. You'll get to go on multiple missions across the globe, taking on badguys and what have you! The idea is to give the user as much control as possible, allowing you to set waypoints, decide when and where to look and we let you tackle problems with a rather formidable tool-set. One of my main reasons for being here is to directly engage with core gaming people (being one myself, I played the crap out of SOCOM/GRAW/R6 and other titles when I was younger.) We at Gun Media believe that building great games is the main goal, regardless of the platform. So while we are launching to iOS and Android, we feel this is a title that gamers familiar with strategy and military themes will enjoy. Originally, we meant to make this game a Free-to-Play experience done right. That is to say we were looking for a more PC-oriented F2P mechanism. We've since announced that we're going the traditional route to get this game experience out there as best as possible. Breach & Clear will launch with a $3.99 price point, though the date hasn't yet been set. Wanted to pass along a few pics of the game, see if you as a community were interested in talking about the title and how we can grow, improve and expand it for mobile audiences! This is an example of an in-game gun. We're very focused on creating something more in-depth. Everything from the optic, suppressor and grip are up to the player. In all, we have 7 points of customization. There's a lot of focus on US-based weapons right now, but that's slated to change after launch . Also wanted to link an album for you guys, show off some of the concept art: And an album with some in-game pics: If you are interested, hit us up on www.facebook.com/breachandclear as well as www.twitter.com/breachcleargame!
  17. I noticed the homepage to the website has information regarding the H-Hour projects attempt at funding over at kickstarter.com but I'm suprised it's not getting more support from the community. As I write this, the project has only made $26k with 351 donaters. What the hell? This community alone should have 300+ donaters for the game - people have been begging for years to have a SOCOM that mirrors the original two releases and now we finally have a team of developers headed by the man who headed the original Socom and it looks like the project may fall short? Show it some love people!! Click this to go to Kickstarter H-Hour Page
  18. We are HavoC Gaming! Yes the "C" is intentionally capitalized. That aside, if you are ready for a clan that will treat you like a brother or a sister, then we want YOU on our team. To us: a family is a group of people who help each other be the best they can be, which means we are competitive as well. Outside of the game, we are friends, making our bond as a clan stronger. Don't think you have what it takes because your KDR is horrible? Think again. We are looking for friendly team players who know how to have fun. If you want to improve, we can help you. But if you're a player who lives to win, we have a section dedicated for full out competitive play. Our members are diverse in play style, competitiveness, and capabilities. You'll miss out on a huge opportunity if you don't apply, so do it now! You won't regret it! We are currently accepting Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Battlefield 3 players on PlayStation 3. Here's what we have to offer: ~ Active Leaders (You can almost touch them.) ~ Rank System (There will always be someone to help you out online.) ~ Sponsorship Opportunity (Kontrol Freak and ASTRO, know what I am saying? Everyone loves discounts and free stuff.) ~ Gamers from around the world. (That's right Ladies, guys with HOT accents. Guys this may not apply to you so much. Sorry.) ~ Competitive Tournaments/GB/MLG ~ Maintained, organized forums (Did I mentioned most of our communication is here?) ~ Advancement opportunities (Strive to be your best.) ~ Fun, Family Community (Complete with a pet. Okay, maybe not.) However, we have a limited set of requirements: ~ Must be 16 years or older. ~ Preferred that you own a mic. (Communication is key when getting to know each other.) ~ Must remain active on our site. (We have put countless hours to provide an outstanding website and it is where clan communicates.) ~ Must be a Team Player (This is important for every role, not just for Competitive players.) ~ Must have a good attitude. (Don't let bad games get to you.) ~ Must to be okay with vulgar language. (Part of being mature. Some of us can't manage to censor ourselves in time all the time.) http://www.havocgamingclan.com/forum.php Haven't applied yet? Better click that link then. Have questions? Feel free to ask.
  19. So I had an interesting conversation with the owner of Scuf Gaming last week. I actually held the controller and understand it is not electronically modified so that you have double tap, rapid fire, etc. We have had quite the outcry from the competitive community about allowing these controllers at the Chicago event. Now our stance when it comes to people bringing their own controllers will not change. But we would consider if we had a controller for all players so that there is an even playing field. What are your thoughts on the Scuf Controller specifically. This discussion is not about modded controllers, only about the scuf that has the paddle on the bottom that act as the X and O buttons.
  20. 22. It is with great pleasure to officially welcome Doc to Urgent Fury. Yesterday he started with his first article telling everyone about Lobo from Injustice. We have known Doc ever since his appearance on PlayStation's Tester Season 1 where he introduced the gaming world to Beerios. Doc has seen had a very quiet roll in the background here at UF working with the Media side of the house. Here is a little about Doc: You will see even more from Doc as he brings Replay with Doc to UFreqTV and on PlayStation Home. Welcome Doc to the team.
  23. So we are looking at a possible event/tournament in the Chicago area and I am curious how many members are near Chicago or willing to travel to Chicago.
  24. With all of the events in the last 24 hours, we have decided that the clans that have earned their place to compete in the Urgent Fury arena deserve more respect. Normally we would remove a problem clan and just let the event continue, but this runs deeper. We have clans that have tarnished our community with alternative motives, and overall ruining the experience for members of our community that deserve better. With that being said, POW II will be retired with no closure. There is no POW Champion, no winner and absolutely no Honor among members of several clans involved. To SHO, RVN, SKS, NS and DFW we at Urgent Fury want to apologize to you. In recent years we have lowered our standards because of low participation and this is what we get. We are going to redo the process and qualifications that will be required for a Clan to receive an invite. We are also going to lower the amount of teams we allow to play in the events. To the other clans that have ruined the experience for these clans, good luck with your new venture. I am sure you will do it better like everyone else has.
