  3. i would. i loved warhawk, just love the flying part. dogfights are awesome.
  4. quake-style railgun ftw! kinda reminds me of tribes with everyone flying around.
  5. we should have this stuff soon. posted today: At this point we're just waiting on approval from Sony and the planned rollout date, which we expect to be very, very soon. As soon as we get that confirmation then I'll let everyone know when you can expect to see it. -------------------- Chris Roper Community Manager, Zipper Interactive --------------------
  6. hope DLC is free for socom pro people (people who bought new copies)
  7. so patch on 9/20 and dlc shortly after? (just guessing). can't wait to play me some demo on socom4!
  8. is your router set to N only, or N + G? most are N + G by default, and your router is prob doing that. from what I have read ps3 does not support N.
  9. 15. Sep 12, 2011 3:25 PM (in response to SpecterMk23) Re: Wheres the DLC? We should be announcing (and then subsequently releasing) the DLC very soon after releasing 1.05, which you'll definitely see by the end of the month. At this point we're basically waiting on three things before announcing the DLC: we need 1.05 to hit (to avoid confusion about what's in what), a specific release date (we think we have one, but don't have confirmation yet), and the OK from PR. Seriously, all of this stufff is really close now... -------------------- Chris Roper Zipper Interactive --------------------
  10. I stand corrected... I didn't realize that 802.11n added the 5ghz range into the spec- thats a nice upgrade from 802.11g. Sadly I don't think any of my laptops do N, and I don't think ps3 does either.
  11. "popularized by quake"... like I said.
  12. 5ghz wireless routers are 802.11a, which requires different network gear. In general you can't just change from 2.4ghz to 5ghz easily, and I've never seen a wireless router for a home that supports both. I also don't think ps3 supports 802.11a either. Bottom line is these aren't bluetooth, but they will work fine for most people. You can always return them if they don't.
  13. these headsets are NOT bluetooth, as it states in the review. If they were, you wouldn't need a usb dongle. I would not expect bluetooth (2400-2480 MHz range) to interfere with a 2.4GHz signal. Like I said before, these will most likely work fine for some people, but others using wifi are going to have issues. If you don't believe me, go check out the problem reports that are starting to trickle in on playstation forums...
  14. $14.99 in case anyone is wondering. there is a demo.
  15. "The Wireless Stereo Headset for PlayStation3 brings dynamic sound to your entertainment experience. Please note, wireless products may be affected by the presence of other wireless devices in the general vicinity. If you experience any unexpected performance with your Wireless Stereo Headset please contact us before returning it to your retailer. 16. Sony doesn't have a say over it, they are using frequencies set aside for consumer electronics to use- and your ps3 has no control whatsoever over what channel your wireless router is configured to use. That being said, you can run multiple 2.4ghz devices in your home but you will have problems if they are on the same channel or trying to use the exact same frequency (or sometimes even just close). I would bet that some people using their ps3 and wireless will have no problems at all, while others will. It will be interesting to see what happens as these get more usage.
  17. CTF has been around long before halo- it was in quake. It's exciting to see new gameplay. I don't want to buy this game, since I am happy with black ops... but I might have to if everyone in my ps3 friends list is playing it.
  18. It is using the same frequencies that wireless networks use, so it could interfere with your ps3's network connection (if you use wireless) depending on your local wireless network configuration.
  19. They didn't say they were using wireless either. I'm sure it will cause problems for some people, depending on what channel they use and assuming they aren't using 802.11a. Personally I don't use wireless for my ps3 but I don't like the dongle stuff.
  20. wonder how well this will work with ps3's that are using wireless network, since it's using the 2.4ghz range...
  21. I just realized BF3 beta comes out this month!!!!!!!! And I'm in (only 48 hours) early due to MOH purchase! If the BF3 beta is sweet, I will buy. I don't see MW3 as a big upgrade over Black Ops which I still own, so I will not be buying MW3.

  23. if you want to keep playing the latest and greatest pc games you need the latest hardware (if you don't want to get your ass kicked that is). it really sucks losing because someone else's rig is just that much better. my rule of thumb was upgrade cpu/ram one year, video card the next, so I was never that far out of date. I was an avid pc gamer until I got married and had kids, then figured it would be cheaper to play on a console. I'm still playing and having fun so it's all good. Took a while to get used to the controller though...
  24. yea I don't think competition-wise it's a good idea, but people want the feature so they can play with friends, etc. I just hope there is a way to select "ps3 only" rooms.
