this was back in may: http://www.vg247.com/2011/05/19/report-33-staff-laid-off-at-zipper-interactive/ I'm pretty sure this is standard procedure as titles release- there are simply people you don't need on staff to support a title moving forward after release.

right? they must be laughing their way to the bank every time. almost no R&D costs at all compared to other titles... for how many years now?

CoD has such an advantage, since they basically take the same game, tweak it slightly, add new features and re-release. They don't need to spend time on new game engines, etc. They just make maps, maybe some new modes, new killstreaks, features like game recording, and presto, the next CoD is born and released.

personally I've never played it, but I know previously there were 30 day trials and whatnot. I personally would not pay a monthly fee to play a game, but I thought it was newsworthy considering the popularity of WoW. -

My wife DVR's her soap operas and watches those, but she hates my ps3. I think she just doesn't like that I am paying attention to something else. I swear if I was just sitting in a chair reading books it wouldn't be an issue. -
I feel bad for the employees down at the impound yard- they have to deal with all these irate people. They need to follow procedure and ask for certain documents, etc, but the people there to get their cars back either don't understand or care, and take it out on them.
