Play Video Connect With Your Wand A witch or wizard should never be without their wand, and the PlayStation 5’s DualSense wireless controller becomes an extension of your wand in Hogwarts Legacy. With so many spells at your disposal, the adaptive triggers allow for more flexibility in combat. You’ll feel the magical resistance at your fingertips through every spell, whether firing off a basic cast or summoning the strength for a more powerful charm. Spells will feel unique when you cast them, thanks to haptic feedback providing a direct connection between the DualSense controller and your wand. We’ve specifically isolated these effects to the right side of the controller to let the DualSense become an extension of the wand you hold in the game. And when you deflect a spell with Protego, you’ll feel the sizzling of the magic being reflected and absorbed by the Shield Charm. Adaptive triggers and haptic feedback aren’t just limited to spellcasting and wand work, however. The DualSense controller lets you feel a variety of events throughout the world, whether it’s crushing ingredients with a mortar and pestle in Potions class, feeling the screech of a Mandrake seedling, or flying through the skies on a broom or a hippogriff. The DualSense is your connection to the magic on PS5. We’ve also tapped into the DualSense controller’s light to give you a unique bit of personalization. When not flashing along with spells being cast or damage being taken, the DualSense controller lights will pulse with the colors of your Hogwarts house: blue and bronze for Ravenclaw, scarlet and gold for Gryffindor, green and silver for Slytherin, and yellow and black for Hufflepuff. Sights and Sounds of Hogwarts Visually, we’ve come a long way since the days of the beloved Hagrid on the original PlayStation. Hogwarts Legacy on PS5 lets you take in Hogwarts and the surrounding area in stunning 4K, as well as a choice between Fidelity and Performance graphics modes. This choice will allow you to create your preferred experience, whether that’s prioritizing a higher framerate or visual fidelity. The PS5 console’s Tempest 3D AudioTech will put you right in the heart of the wizarding world. Hear the crackle of fire as you cast Incendio, potions bubbling in cauldrons, and the uniquely detailed soundscapes of each environment to really make you feel present. Will DLC and add-ons work with downloaded games from the PlayStation Plus catalog? Yes. You can purchase DLC and add-on content for the games you download from the games catalog through PlayStation Plus. If your membership expires, or if the content leaves the service you’ll also lose access to the DLC and add-on content associated with that game. Once you resubscribe to the service or decide to purchase the title, you’ll be able to use your purchased DLC and add-on content again. Please note, DLC and add-on content is not supported when streaming a title. When I’m offline, can I play games I’ve downloaded from the games catalog offered in PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium/Deluxe? Yes. However, when playing a downloaded game from the game catalog in PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe plans, you’ll need to connect to PSN every seven days to validate your PlayStation Plus membership and maintain your access to the game. Please note, this step is only required for game catalog titles in the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe plans. It does not apply to the monthly downloadable games available through PlayStation Plus Essential. With this service change, will I have to redownload any games that were previously acquired via PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now? For PlayStation Plus games you have previously redeemed to your PSN account, those games will still remain as part of your game library as long as you are a PlayStation Plus member. There are no changes to your PlayStation Plus benefits. For games you’ve previously downloaded from PlayStation Now’s game catalog, if the titles are also available for PlayStation Plus, you can continue to play and your progress will continue to save. Similar to PlayStation Now, if the content is no longer offered on PlayStation Plus, you won’t be able to access the titles when they leave the service. If the title is available on PlayStation Store and you decide to purchase it, you’ll be able to access your save data again – just make sure you don’t delete your saved data. When this transition takes place, are there any titles previously available to stream or download via PlayStation Now that are not available with the all-new PlayStation Plus? The game catalog offered through PlayStation Now will continually change up to the transition of the all-new PlayStation Plus game catalog offering. PlayStation.com will be updated with the game catalog lineup when the new PlayStation Plus launches in your region. What’s the difference between playing a downloaded game and a streamed version of the same game through the PlayStation Plus Premium plan? Games downloaded from the all new PlayStation Plus games catalog can run locally on your PS4 or PS5 console at their native graphic quality and sound output modes, so the quality can increase up to 4K if the title, console, and your TV supports it. Downloaded games with PS VR support are also playable using your PS VR system. Additionally, some online features, such as add-ons and online mode, will only be accessible through the downloaded version of the game. The PlayStation Plus Premium plan offers streaming in select markets, with resolution options up to 1080p. It’s hard to believe that it was almost 12 years ago when we first introduced PlayStation Plus to the world, with Wipeout HD as one of the first games given to PlayStation Plus members. The PlayStation Plus product evolved through the years with more than 1,000 games offered to members globally. We regularly improved upon our offerings to provide a compelling package to the 47 million members who are part of the service today. And just eight years ago we launched PlayStation Now as an open beta and have since seen it mature to a full-fledged service enjoyed by more than three million users in select markets. We’re back with more inside info on Steelrising, coming to PS5 on September 8. Last time, we talked about our quest to develop an action-oriented RPG. This time we’ll be looking at the origins of our protagonist. In Steelrising, you play as Aegis, a unique automaton that will have to face an army of machines created for King Louis XVI, the Clockwork King. All about Aegis Let’s kick things off with some top-level stats: Status: AutomatonDate of Creation: 1789. Precise date unknownHeight: 175cmWeapons Types: 9Creator: Eugène de VaucanssonPrevious occupation: Dancer for the courtCurrent occupation: Fighter & last hope of the revolution Even before we decided that Steelrising would take place in the 18th century, we had already envisioned an automaton protagonist. Indeed, the possibilities offered by having a machine, capable of rebuilding itself at will or improving its mechanics as it progresses, seemed to fit well for an action-oriented “soulslike” game, where death is an integral part of the learning curve. Originally, our automaton was called Ada, in double reference not only to the idea of creation, Ada being our Adam, but also in reference to Ada Lovelace, the first programmer in history. Over time and as our universe developed and became anchored in the French Revolution, Ada became Aegis, this time in reference to the aegis, the shield that Athena wields to protect Zeus. Creating her look Meanwhile, the art team was thinking about what this machine would look like. There were many influences, but two in particular stood out: “La petite géante” (the little giant) from “Les Machines de l’île (an installation in Nantes) and “La Joueuse de tympanon” (the dulcimer player), the latter also happening to be a product of the 18th century. On the left, La petite géante and on the right, the dulcimer player, two sources of inspiration that helped Aegis to come to life. Beyond the mechanical aspect, which reflects the ability to upgrade and rebuild, we also wanted to infuse the character with grace for gameplay reasons: we wanted to incorporate fast-paced, aerial gameplay elements, and verticality. Thus, it was clear to us that Aegis had to be an agile and elegant character. Aegis deploying her Armored Fans’ blades. Inspired by the fans so beloved by aristocracy, they deliver lightning-fast barrages of cutting attacks. By association, we thought about music boxes and their little mechanical ballerinas. As well as fitting the story of the character – who was originally an automaton dancer – we found this reference interesting as it added a sense of apparent vulnerability and graceful delicacy in keeping with our vision of the character, creating a contrast that was all the more striking when she sprang her weapons from her body, the petite ballerina becoming a graceful machine of death. Aegis is resourceful. Every weapon emerges from her own body. Being a machine, we were able to give her exaggerated, unnatural proportions and emphasize the mechanical, unhuman nature of her movements. We could also give her a range of motion, especially in combat, which accentuated the aerial gameplay. The grapple is also part of the Aegis body. It is not only useful during exploration but can also be used as a weapon in battle. In addition to being an outstanding fighter, Aegis is also an incredible acrobat. Finally, the contrast between Aegis’ delicate form and her heavier, more imposing enemies would underline her uniqueness in our world. Like David’s courage against Goliath, Aegis steps forward with no fear to defeat the Bishop of the Cité. Aegis will also be partly customizable: you can change her wig, her facial features, and the material of her body. Enigmatic automaton Of course, the story of how she was created by our team reveals nothing of the story you will discover over the course of the game and the various struggles she will have to overcome. For our automaton is a singular masterpiece, and as such, the secrets behind her existence are many. So we won’t be revealing more for the time being. Meanwhile, the Arataki Gang also invites you to the Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival and the latest season of rhythm game. Trapped Deep Inside The Chasm It seems that The Chasm seals away not only clues to Khaenri’ah and the Traveler twins, but also the history and secrets of Liyue, including how the people fought against monsters 500 years ago. For a long time, Yelan has been watching over The Chasm, trying to find out what happened back then, which may be closely related to her origin. In addition, the yakshas also seem to share a deep connection with what happened in the past. In the new event Perilous Trail, you will start a new Archon Quest Interlude Chapter featuring a diverse cast of characters inside The Chasm. While Yelan, Yanfei, Itto, and Shinobu are stranded in the depths, danger also looms ahead for the Conqueror of Demons, Xiao, who is conducting his own investigation. Survive the crisis together, and follow Xiao’s steps to uncover the history buried inside The Chasm. As the story progresses, a new combat challenge Realms of Guile and War will be unlocked along with the Perilous Trail event, putting both your combat skills and party-building strategy to the test. In this new game mode, you will be facing several rounds of combat in four different domains, and each domain has its own rule to rearrange your party after every round of combat. For instance, the Direcliff Court Domain allows only one member of your current party to continue in the next round of combat, while in the Kaleidoscope Cage Domain, two current members will be banned randomly in later fights. The challenge can be daunting, so we also prepared multiple Stratagem buffs and Trial Characters for you to choose from. Bountiful rewards, including the new four-star bow Fading Twilight also await in the event shop. Besides, our old acquaintance Hosseini the Sumeru scholar is asking for help again to settle another crisis in which dark mud-like substance is spewing forth from the depths. In the A Muddy Bizarre Adventure, you need to use your Lumenstone Adjuvant and the Pursina’s Spike placed by the scholar to clear the mud, repel monsters, and complete different challenge objectives such as escorting a hot air balloon to its destination or defeating certain monsters in a limited time. Meet Yelan and Kuki Shinobu Following the debut of Yelan and Kuki Shinobu in The Chasm, you will also have the opportunity to recruit them during Version 2.7. While Yelan and Shinobu have very distinct backgrounds and stories, they’re both extremely capable and reliable characters to their friends and allies. Yelan is the mysterious owner of Liyue’s Yanshang Teahouse, but her true identity is hard to explain in a few words. Known as “a person with many faces,” Yelan appears in various guises, pulls strings behind events, and disappears before anyone noticed. Therefore, she is also an excellent special intelligence officer, helping Ningguang to protect Liyue. Yelan enjoys living life on the edge, and her activities have taken her across the other nations of Teyvat, and even to the Abyss. In combat, our new 5-star playable character Yelan favors the bow, and is capable of being a Hydro DPS that combines rapid attacks with agile mobility. After a short time out of combat, Yelan will enter a “Breakthrough” state, which will cause her next Charged Aimed Shot to have decreased charge time, and once charged, she can fire a Breakthrough Barb that will deal AoE Hydro DMG. With her Elemental Skill Lingering Lifeline, Yelan can move swiftly, mark her opponents, and deal Hydro DMG to marked targets once her rapid movement ends. Yelan also has a fixed chance to reset her Breakthrough state, based on the number of opponents marked. Her Elemental Burst Depth-Clarion Dice deals AoE Hydro DMG and creates a wondrous dice to aid in battle. The dice will follow your active character and initiate a coordinated attack when you unleash a Normal Attack or when Yelan’s Lifeline explodes and hits opponents. With Yelan’s Passive Talent Adapt With Ease, the active character’s damage increases over time while the Dice is active. What’s more, Yelan’s Max HP increases based on the number of Elemental Types that are present in the party. While Yelan is protecting Liyue from plots and threats, Kuki Shinobu is busy rescuing the boss and fellow Arataki Gang members from various troublesome and dangerous situations. Born in a family of shrine maidens, Shinobu took a very different path. She has learned a variety of crafts and skills and obtained so many professional certificates that her business card can’t even list them all. She even studied law in Liyue as a junior alumna of Yanfei. It’s still unknown how Shinobu ended up being the deputy leader of the Arataki Gang, but thanks to her efforts, this wandering little gang of misfits has become a crew capable of running all kinds of errands and jobs. If you want to spend a day with the Gang and learn more about Shinobu, you must not miss her Hangout Event. As a four-star Electro sword character in combat, Kuki Shinobu can be a strong support to heal teammates and deal continuous damage from off the battlefield. Shinobu’s Elemental Skill Sanctifying Ring will sacrifice a certain portion of her HP and create a Grass Ring of Sanctification that will heal friendly characters within and deal continuous Electro DMG to surrounding opponents. Shinobu’s healing and damage will be boosted based on her Elemental Mastery, and her Healing Bonus can be further increased if her HP is down to a certain level. With her Elemental Burst Gyoei Narukami Kariyama Rite, Shinobu creates a special field in front that deals continuous Electro damage to opponents within. Yelan’s Event Wish will be available at the start of Version 2.7, coinciding with Xiao’s rerun. Arataki Itto and Kuki Shinobu will be joining at the later stage of the update. Join the Beat With the Arataki Gang As Kuki Shinobu has finished her law studies in Liyue, Arataki Itto and his fellows now invite you to the Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival in Inazuma! During this event, you will receive a strange little drum from Itto to play with, and the playstyle is also different from our previous rhythm game to better match the percussion and drum beats. Play Video We’re excited to be bringing A Monster’s Expedition to PlayStation, especially after the warm reception we received with our release of Bonfire Peaks. The PlayStation versions contain all of the updates to date including our hefty Museum Expansion Update, and today’s new Hint Update. The Hint Update is designed to allow new players to come into the game with less pressure and stress about getting stuck, and for returning players to more easily be able to achieve 100% completion. Players can access the settings menu to enable hints about where to go, how to solve each island, and even how to find Friends, the game’s most difficult-to-discover type of secret. The Hint System is fully customizable – turn on as much or as little as you want and enjoy the game in whatever way works best for you. Our goal with hints is that they should push you towards the solution or confirm you’re on the right track, without denying you the “aha” moment of working out the details. We do this by showing you where you need to place logs to reach the next island – seeing the end state is often enough to work backwards and make the rest much simpler. And for the hidden Friends, the biggest challenge is just in working out where to start looking – hints for those highlight a few islands that deserve a second look, and it’s up to you to work out the rest. And of course, following our successful and well-received integration of PS5 Activity Cards in Bonfire Peaks, we knew we had to continue the trend with A Monster’s Expedition. Designing support for the feature in an open world game like this one was a challenging design endeavor, but we’re really excited about what we ended up with. While playing the game for the first time, the Activity Cards take the form of Progression Guides – marking key checkpoints and helping you on your way to the ending credits. Once you hit the end credits of A Monster’s Expedition, there’s still hours and hours of gameplay remaining, and so we decided that post-completion, Activity Cards should take the form of a completion checklist for the 160 Exhibits across the museum. Combining the Hint Update, which can help guide you to the exhibits by presenting guidance on individual puzzles to you and point out the locations of undiscovered exhibits themselves, with the Activity Card checklist functionality of showing you just how close you are in each region of the game environment and providing the names of unexplored exhibits, the PS5 version of A Monster’s Expedition has a comprehensive set of approachability features to provide a seamless and frictionless post-game experience to see all that the world has to offer. The prophecy of Ragnarök brings changes to all the Realms, and with that, we’re excited to announce some new accessibility features that will be available in God of War Ragnarök. Not only have we redesigned our UI to allow for more flexibility and readability, but we have also rebuilt controller remapping from the ground up and added more customization to our combat and interaction systems. We have retained all our accessibility features from 2018’s God of War and expanded upon them to include more than 60 ways to adjust gameplay to best suit your style and needs. Here’s a selection of some new and notable features. God of War (2018) PC Features – Added to God of War Ragnarök For God of War (2018) on PC, we made sure to improve and continue to iterate on popular features from the initial PlayStation release. We’re pleased to be continuing to support these features in God of War Ragnarök on PS4 and PS5: Sprint Auto Sprint: You will sprint while the stick is held and stop when released. When Auto Sprint is active, you can begin sprinting by pressing the move stick forward for a short period of time in one direction. The duration required to engage the Auto Sprint is configurable by you. Persistent Dot (Always on Reticle): If you need additional focal points to reduce motion sickness, or just want a persistent reminder of the center of the screen, we offer the ability to turn on a center dot in three different sizes and seven different colors. Aim Style: You can choose to use either hold or toggle on/off the aim stance. Block Style: You can choose to use either hold or toggle on/off the shield stance. New to God of War Ragnarök Subtitle and Caption Improvements We have invested heavily in improving our subtitle and caption system to allow for even more customization and information. Subtitle and Caption Size: We have increased our minimum text size and added new scaling. This includes an extra-large text size to make subtitles and captions more readable. We have also dedicated a larger text area to match TV and movie subtitle standards. Subtitle and Caption Colors: You can adjust the colors of speaker names, subtitle body, and captions individually. You will be able choose between seven different colors. Play Video Speaker Names (Retained options from 2018): As in God of War (2018), you can show or hide speaker names. You can set this size independent from the UI text size. Captions: With expanded sound effects captions, we’ve added several new ways to understand in-game sound. We’ve added captions to both cinematics and gameplay to provide a rich understanding of the soundscape of the world. You can also enable captions for critical gameplay information to assist with puzzles and narrative understanding. Play Video Subtitle and Caption Background Blur: We’ve included options to allow for blurring the background behind subtitles and captions to make them more readable over complex scenes. Subtitle Background (Retained options from 2018): In addition to blur, we’ve included options to darken the background behind subtitles for better readability on snow. High contrast backing includes multiple opacity settings for you to select from. Play Video Direction Indicator: Critical gameplay sounds now have an optional direction indicator which shows the direction a sound is coming from. To assist with puzzles that have sound cues, this indicator will help you orient towards the source of an important sound. Text Size / Icon Size The highly requested feature from God of War (2018) is back and better than ever! You asked for a comfortable reading experience when playing from a couch, so we listened. With a fully re-engineered and responsive UI, and a larger minimum text size that can scale significantly, reading on-screen text is easier than ever. Here’s a look at our Default and XX-Large game wide UI Text scaling for reference. We also have two examples to share of the in-game icon scaling with smallest and largest options available to choose from. Left: Small UI Icon Size, Right: X-Large UI Icon Size Controller Remapping We have rebuilt our controller remapping system to allow you to customize your button configurations in God of War Ragnarök. There will be a wide range of preset layouts, as well as custom controller remapping support. Individual buttons can be swapped and, for select complex actions, you can choose alternate configurations from a preset list. We offer multiple ways for you to customize your experience for certain actions that require more than one button, including Touch Pad Shortcuts for things like Spartan Rage, Navigation Assist, and Quick Turn. High Contrast Mode Our new high contrast color-mode allows you to apply a color to objects in-game like targets, enemies, and other characters, in addition to a variety of item types. When active, this will apply a color layer to characters that will make them more visible against the background. You can optionally desaturate the background to further increase the contrast. Traversal paint, loot items, and special effects can also be made more visible in this mode. High Contrast Activation Customization: Select off, on, or always on for gameplay only (this will exclude cinematics). High contrast mode can be set to toggle on and off from a swipe for easy access. This mode will automatically disable when in a settings menu or character menu. High Contrast Color Customization: Select a color palette that fits your playstyle and adjust individual colors for characters, enemies, and items. High Contrast Background Customization: Separately select mid-tone or darkened background contrast levels. Navigation Assist: New to God of War, this camera navigation system allows you to orient your view towards your compass objective. When not in combat, pressing the Navigation Assist button will orient your view in the direction of the next story goal. Traversal Assistance: Gap jumping, vaulting, mantling, and other traversal features can now be automated based on the direction you press. Assistance +: Adds interaction-based moves like climbs, crawls, and squeeze-through. Audio Cues: We have linked a sound cue to each of the on-screen interact prompts, so that when using this feature, you can hear when an interact icon is nearby, as well as when the button prompt becomes active. Audio cues extend to additional combat cues like unblockable attack rings, targeting aim cues, and weapon swap cues. The volume of audio cues can be adjusted separately from other volume sliders, so you can adjust for your own comfort. Roller Champions is coming to PS4 (and PS5 via backwards compatibility) on May 25, offering fast-paced, competitive, free-to-play matches in which you can rise to sports-legend glory. Its roller-skate arena action is based on three simple rules: catch the ball, do a lap while keeping it in your team’s possession, and score! To better understand the game, its origins, and its gameplay decisions, we spoke with Gauthier Malou, Roller Champions’ creative director. Play Video Gladiatorial beginnings “Blending is at the core of Roller Champions,” says Malou, and that’s especially true when it comes to its origins, which combine inspirations as diverse as arcade games and a dystopian movie from the ‘70s. Before Roller Champions, Malou was part of a small team at Ubisoft tasked with two missions: create free mobile games, and keep an eye on the market to observe its trends. It was during this time that his team noticed that “the market was moving more and more towards interaction between players, spectators, and organizers,” he recalls, citing examples like Twitch and esports competitions. “Streamers are like a Roman emperor who has to entertain the crowd,” says Malou, “and the more fun the game is to watch, the more viewers will ask the streamers to replay that game. So, at first, we thought of a classic gladiator game with swords.” But the team wanted to approach the idea in a unique way, and that’s when Malou had a flash of inspiration: Rollerball, one of his favorite movies from the ‘70s. Depicting a dystopian world in which corporations take over and create spectacles to satiate the masses, the film is violent and dark – but that’s not what attracted him to it. “The fact that this movie had gladiators on roller skates in a circular arena, like Ben-Hur, that’s an original approach,” he says. “Roller skates are based on physics and inertia – it gives us fun gameplay where we’re going to push each other, knock each other down.” Of course, the colorful and dynamic Roller Champions bears no resemblance to the dark and cruel world of Rollerball. Instead, the team set to work creating a prototype in a roller-skating arena that put competition at the center of the game while still remaining fun and inclusive. By combining soccer, basketball, handball, roller derby, and a handful of other sports, the team created a totally unique sport. With no guns, cars, or power contests, Malou explains that Roller Champions is a game that’s “not gendered, not filled with testosterone, and that’s also, in my opinion, ultra-modern, because roller skates are an environmentally friendly way to reclaim concrete cities.” But competition is still a core part of it. “We’ve always believed in the power that comes from confrontation. It’s in us, we’re competitive,” says Malou. “And to have confrontation with good values and fair play, we created a sport.” As fun to watch as it is to play While working on the details of this new sport, the team followed one clear, central guideline: the game should be as fun to watch as it is to play, and someone who doesn’t know the rules of the game should be able to enjoy the action just by watching the players move on the track. During development, Malou found innovative ways to test whether the game was on the right track. “I showed my mom a match when she didn’t even know what the game was,” he recounts. “She was like, ‘Oh, he’s good because he does a backflip and falls nicely on his feet. Ah, he sucks because he fell on his butt.’ Without understanding the rules, she was able to enjoy the game.” These characteristics of the game – being instantly accessible, understandable, and fun – are important not only for the gameplay, but also for the fact that the game is free. Malou notes that Roller Champions may seem complicated at first; the game presents a completely new sport, and players will need to learn everything. “Our strength, though,” he says, “is the instant fun that comes once people pick up the controller to try it.” A price tag creates a barrier to entry, Malou says, but being free means that “to try it is to embrace it.” But while the game is immediately understandable and fun, that doesn’t mean it’s simple. The basic concept – pick up the ball, do a lap with it, and score – is amplified by moves that can be combined to create exponential possibilities. “What brought a lot of variety was the combo aspect,” Malou says. “Kicking right after you jump, jumping again when you’re already in the air, doing a double dodge, making a pass when you’ve just fallen.” The same concept of combos also applies to the many game modes the team is testing. “For example: hot potato,” says Malou. “It’s the exact same game, but if you don’t make a pass after five seconds, the ball explodes in your hands. And that game mode can be perfectly combined with the 2v2 game mode. “Every time we add more game modes, the number of possible combinations is going to be exponential,” says Malou. The superstars Although the development team has been experimenting with other combinations, the main game mode will always be 3v3. “We want players to feel like superstars,” says Malou, “so that everyone has a chance to shine, to have their moment of glory, to be cheered on. We’re keeping it as intimate as possible in terms of the number of players.” To emphasize the idea that the players are celebrities, there are no classes in the game; everyone gets the same equipment and the same chances. “It’s really the players who have their stories and their abilities,” Malou notes, “so if you want a good defender on your team, you recruit a player who is a good defender. The players are the champions, not their characters.” The map design is another gameplay decision that puts the focus on the players. “The game doesn’t have big maps with hundreds of players. Instead, it’s very intimate,” Malou says. To add to the effect of its small size, the map is also fully visible; its center wall is transparent to keep the audience’s attention on the champions at all times. To ensure that the audience shares the same experience, the team also reduced the number of subjective elements in the game as much as possible. Players won’t see their enemy team as red, for instance; the teams are neutral colors, yellow and blue. By removing this element of opposition, the development team can ensure that the audience appreciates the players’ skills more than the clashes between the teams. “Everything’s conceived so that the audience sees the same thing, because then they share the same experience,” says Malou. “There’s a sense of community, because they’re talking about the same thing at the same time.” Roller Champions launches for free on May 25 for PS4, and is playable on PS5 via backwards compatibility. Super re-playable campaign There are so many different ways to play Ogre, with multiple options to build your factions, different factions to choose from, and numerous scenarios to try. In Dead by Daylight’s new chapter Roots of Dread, the new Killer is The Dredge. A formless mass of twisted limbs writhing in the shadows, The Dredge is a manifestation of darkness itself. A uniquely frightening figure, it was imperative that The Dredge captured the spirit of a monster lurking beneath your bed. And while Dead by Daylight is most certainly a horror game, conjuring such a unique flavor of fear presented an exciting challenge for the game design team. For one, its Reign of Darkness Power shrouds the map in a pitch-black state, turning simple navigation into a matter of life and death. During this supernatural nightfall, visibility becomes severely limited, making it so that Survivors can only see what’s directly in front of them. While this certainly brings an exciting new horror element to Dead by Daylight, such a drastic visual change was not without a few behind-the-scenes hurdles. Hello Darkness “One of the first things, and this is something people don’t often consider, is that we must think about the technical feasibility of our desired experience,” explains Patrick Harris, Dead by Daylight’s lead game designer. “Lighting levels and visibility levels are a very technical challenge, and when conceptualizing a Power like The Dredge’s, we have to consider that.” “It becomes an interesting discussion between the tech side and the design side,” he notes. “The design side says we want an experience like this, and tech says doing exactly what you just said will have implications on performance. We work together to find a balance. “It’s tricky to get the lighting and visibility to change dynamically in a match, maintain performance, and adhere to the original design desire. On top of that, you must then consider the feedback we get from our playtests, which feature a wide range of player skill. “I’m not the most amazing Survivor player in the world, by my own admission,” Patrick says with a laugh. “When I faced The Dredge, I found the darkness to be very tough — especially in early iterations. A lot of the less experienced Survivors felt that. On the other side, many of the high-skilled players had each Map memorized. You could throw a blindfold on them, and they could still find the Generators. “We had to find a balance where the high-skilled players were scared and impacted by the Power while the newer players were not completely overwhelmed. That was a tricky one, and that’s where the idea of having The Dredge’s aura be visible during the darkness came from. It helped strike a balance between the two groups while maintaining the fear factor. It also helps that when you see The Dredge, it’s absolutely terrifying.” Lockers That’s only the beginning. The Dredge has the ability to teleport to any locker across the map, granting it an oppressive level of mobility. And should it teleport to a locker while a Survivor is inside? Some things are better left to the imagination. “We’ve wanted a Killer that jumped out of lockers and scared Survivors for a while,” explains Patrick. “Something that takes a pillar of safety and flips it on its head. ‘There’s three lockers in this room, do I really want to go here?’ This is going to be the Killer that makes lockers scary.” Survivors can take protective measures by locking a locker door, but there’s one problem. “You can only lock those lockers once,” says Patrick. “It’s not necessarily a great idea to run around and lock them all. If you do that at the beginning of the game, The Dredge is going to smash each lock and you’ll be in for a bad time. Slow your roll and be mindful.” Finding balance Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical multiplayer game where two sides must go head-to-head, and striking an effective balance between Killer and Survivor is an integral part of the game design team’s toolkit. At the same time, both sides are made up of a wide-ranging spectrum of player skill, making it difficult to predict how the community will respond to a Killer’s competitive potential. “You never know which tier a Killer will end up being until the community gets their hands on it,” muses Patrick. “Sometimes it’s because they figure out how to do something you never thought of. Sometimes they do something they shouldn’t be able to do. Lot of times, we’re just impressed with the creativity.” It always helps when a Killer’s Power allows for the possibility of mind games, raising the skill ceiling and inviting a good old-fashioned battle of wits. While The Dredge’s Power allows for map-wide darkness and Locker teleportation, there’s an additional ability Survivors must fear: The Remnant. When The Dredge charges its Power, a static Remnant is created. From there, the Killer has two options: teleport to a Locker or instantly snap back to the Remnant. Consider a scenario where a Survivor you’re chasing is running toward a locker. You prepare to cut them off by teleporting to a locker up ahead, charging your Power and creating a Remnant. After a few seconds, they realize what you’re planning and decide to double back by running toward you. Rather than teleporting to the Locker as originally planned, you can snap back to your Remnant and instantly resume the chase. “When we did the initial playtests with The Dredge, we didn’t have the Remnant,” recalls Patrick. “It was one of the last parts of the Power to be added. It added a level of mind-gaming to The Dredge that wasn’t present, making for some interesting gameplay during chases. There’s an exciting level of decision-making.” It’s clear that the game design team is excited for players to get familiar with The Dredge, whose immersive gameplay and unsettling visual design brings a new style of horror to The Entity’s Realm. That’s right, Fall Guys is going free for all and cross-play starting June 21, with a new PS5 version that enhances the bean-stumbling action. But before we dig deeper into what’s new, let’s take a look back on where we started… Can you believe that we launched Fall Guys all the way back in August 2020? A lot has happened in those two years, including some amazing collaborations and huge game-changing updates. I think Squads Mode has been the single biggest improvement to the game so far—it just felt like such a completely fresh way to play with a party without having to constantly drop out because someone from the dev team got eliminated in Round 1 again (not going to name any names here). It’s just such a great feeling to share the joy of a win with all your friends watching along! Hitting the one year anniversary of Fall Guys’ launch was a really special moment. To have anyone take interest in our silly obstacle course bean game in the first place was an incredible honour, but to have a dedicated, passionate community celebrate a year of achievements in Fall Guys is something else entirely. Development’s never smooth sailing but I’m incredibly proud of how the team has sustained and improved the game since the launch. Play Video No PlayStation Plus membership required for online play. Well, what’s new? How long have you got? We have so many new features, obstacles, Rounds and more being added to Fall Guys in this new Season. My personal favourite new in-game addition is Blast Balls for sure! As a design team we were looking for new ways to make final Rounds that give players more agency to go after each other and make some clever strategic plays. Blast Balls achieve that while still staying true to the core of Fall Guys—they’re funny, grounded in physics and perfect for creating highlight worthy clips. We also have some incredible new Rounds being added, one being Hex-a-Ring. It’s basically a version of Hex-a-Gone that is being played on a rotating tube, you have to keep moving through layers of tiles while not falling off the rotating floor and not falling down into the slime! I’d be lying if I said a lot of our team were good at this Round, but I can’t wait to see the community highlights when they get to try it out. With some absolutely wild collaborations lined up, we really can’t wait for everyone to dig in and try it for themselves! I couldn’t possibly spill the beans on ALL the new features in the upcoming season but I’m very excited to let you know some of the awesome PS5 technical features coming up. Now a look at the technical details We’re really excited to bring some awesome features to Fall Guys for PS5 players. First of all, we’re really happy to say that we’ll be utilising enhanced physics and native 4K asset handling which means… Fall Guys will be hitting 60FPS at 4k on PS5 starting June 21. This is a huge deal for us—just imagine every colourful costume stumbling along in 4k resolution—so beantacular! Our Tonicteam has been trying out some fun stuff with the DualSense wireless controller’s haptics to add to the game further down the line. Dan Parkes (one of our audio engineers) added this lovely feature where the controller starts to vibrate as you get closer to the Crown. It’s subtle but it really adds to the tension as you reach the final few meters of Fall Mountain and Lost Temple. We’ve also been working on Direct Access for Fall Guys on PS5, which essentially links certain parts of the Fall Guys menu to fast tasks. This means that you’ll be able to jump straight to Main Show, Duos, Trios, and Squad modes from the launch menu. But don’t worry. You won’t start falling into a match until you confirm you want to load into matchmaking. Rewards galore As a thank you to all of our amazing Fall Guys players, anyone who’s downloaded and played Fall Guys before June 21 will be eligible for some iconic rewards. Evil Dead: The Game serves up some delightfully gruesome violence and over the top moments that make for a bloody fun time, but it’s not all scream and no substance: there are many layers to the game and strategies to keep in mind. Whether you’re playing as the heroic Ash Williams and his friends, or as the vile and powerful Kandarian Demon, we’ve assembled our top tips to make sure that you get a helping (severed) hand. Top tips for Survivors: For Survivors to win, it takes cunning strategy, synergistic teamwork and always being on your toes. You’ve got to keep a cool head and your eyes on the Necronomicon prize, all while your teammates are being possessed, Deadites are projectile vomiting at you, trees are swinging at you, and much more. Here are some tips for success: Play as a team: A crew of four Survivors sticking together are much stronger than any single player going off on their own. They can also distribute the loot that they find between each other. They’re also less prone to being scared, and that’ll help keep your fear levels low! Don’t forget to use the ping system to mark objectives, items, and locations to your teammates! Whether you’re on voice chat or playing without it, communication via the ping system is key for success. Choose your battles well: If you are together, you can go all in against Deadites and bosses and stand a chance to take them down. But if you are alone and the team is separated, it may be better to run away and live to fight another day. Stealth is your friend: The Kandarian Demon can see you when your fear levels are high, when you enter a car, and when you shoot. Preventing the demon from finding you quickly will enable you to advance in the early game without major issues. High fear levels allow the Demon to see the Survivors on the minimap. This means it can get close to you and start the carnage.High fear levels also allow the Demon to possess Survivors, controlling them and turning them against each other.Find sources of light, like lamps or bonfires, and light them up to reduce your fear. Kandarian Demon Tips Playing as the Kandarian Demon can be a lot of fun. You are an incorporeal evil entity – able to spawn Deadites, frighten Survivors and possess them, set traps, and lots of other diabolical deeds. But to consistently win as the Demon, it will take time and talent to master. Here are some key tips to put you on the path to demonic domination: Learn the map: Knowing the key points of the map makes it easier and faster for you to find the Survivors. The Cleaver County map is huge. Focus on key points to search for Survivors. The center of the map, called Dead End, is a great place to start. Divide the group: A single survivor dies easily. Scare them and bring them closer to your traps. Evil Trees are a great way to slow down one of the Survivors and separate them from the group. Place traps or possess the Survivors, correctly timing the attacks to create distance between them. Disturb them, scare them, kill them: The power of the Kandarian Demon increases more quickly as it acts against the Survivors. Trick the Survivors into activating your traps, attack them, and possess them. All of this will make you stronger and stronger. Warlord is a pretty balanced Demon. Both possessing Deadites and placing traps will do the trick. Use every resource at your disposal to keep the Survivors on their toes.Puppeteer is possession based. Searching for the Survivors should be your #1 priority. Using the Deadites already on the map and chasing Survivors down is the key to ending them.Necromancer bases its strength in numbers. Placing traps in objective areas will grant you an advantage in the forthcoming fights. Remember to correctly place the flutist! In the ideal situation, placing it in a hidden or obscure location in order to not have the Survivors easily identify and defeat it, but close enough so that it can buff your evil units is key. We can’t wait for you to get your hands on Evil Dead: The Game when it releases on Friday, May 13 on PS5 and PS4. Deathloop’s third major update is available today on PlayStation 5! Game Update 3 introduces a brand-new Photo Mode, added accessibility options, unique PlayStation 5 avatars and more, all for free. Read on for highlights on Photo Mode and the new accessibility options, with insights from members of the team at Arkane Lyon. Photo Mode Express yourself with a wide variety of filters, stickers, poses and other customization options in Deathloop’s brand-new Photo Mode. Available only in single-player, Photo Mode is accessible through the Pause menu in any map or by activating the Photo Mode shortcut. To enable the shortcut on PS5: Options > Controls > ‘Controller’ tab > Photo Mode Quick Access > Yes Once in-game, double tap the Create button (button to the left of the touchpad) on your DualSense controller to open Photo Mode Play Video “This Photo Mode is such a great way to allow our players to get creative by using the unique art and levels of Deathloop,” says Producer Jeremy Leulier. “The only creative limitations are defined by our players’ imaginations. We’re very excited at Arkane to see how deep the players will dig into all of the different options and what they will come up with.” In addition to being able to select your filters and angles like a photography pro, you can swap between Colt and Julianna, change out your outfits and weapons (including the specific weapon variation and skin), and drop into over a dozen share-worthy poses. “One of our biggest challenges was to adapt Photo Mode for a first-person shooter where your character isn’t displayed apart from the hands and weapons,” explains Leulier. “We wanted to offer the best possible experience for this mode and took the time to playtest it thoroughly and even asked for insight from players who are experts in using different Photo Modes in games. We took so much pleasure testing Photo Mode that we added a lot of relevant options for the player to make it even more fun and funnier to use.” “Each time we release a game, Photo Mode has been one of the most requested features by the players,” adds Studio Director Dinga Bakaba. “Seeing how virtual photographers were able to make incredible shots in our worlds without one, we can’t be more thrilled to empower the entire community with these tools.” Accessibility Features “We are truly grateful to the players and the ally community who gave us so much feedback when Deathloop was released,” says Lead UI/UX Designer Yoann Bazoge. “We took the time to read all of the accessibility reviews and watch the videos of players explaining why they couldn’t play Deathloop. We then worked on a document listing all of the feedback and drew up a roadmap of what the additions would be for Game Update 3.” Game Update 3 introduces over 30 improvements and added accessibility options, from menu navigation improvements and interface options to a host of new gameplay options. The update also adds a dedicated Accessibility category, which can be found in the options menu. This new menu wraps up the existing options as well as many of the new options available with this update, including: New gameplay settings that allow players to further customize combat in Single-Player Mode (most are not available for Online or Friends modes). This includes increasing or decreasing combat difficulty, adjusting number of Reprises and slowing game speed. New HUD and subtitle options, such as customizing the size, opacity and color of various text and graphical elements Easier menu navigation, allowing for the use of directional buttons on the controller to navigate up and down menu lists. The cursor speed can also now be adjusted in settings to help with navigating the settings with a controller. “One of the things we didn’t expect when starting on accessibility features was how some of these options can be useful and fun for everyone,” says Bakaba. “My favorites are slow-mo, which enables everyone to make otherwise nearly impossible chain of actions, and Reprise count, which allows you to experiment without consequence with the infinite setting. On the contrary, you can use the Reprise count to make the game more challenging by turning Reprises off entirely.” “Accessibility in games is a complex subject,” says Bazoge. “We estimate that over 400 million players need some additional assistance when playing. That’s a lot of people that can feel left out without some of these options. Hi everyone! I’m Dom, programmer at Spiral Circus, and I’m really excited to share the news that our surreal underwater adventure Silt is coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on June 1. Play Video Silt is a puzzle-adventure set deep within a harrowing ocean abyss, where you play as a lone diver searching the deep and exploring dangerous waters to uncover long-forgotten mysteries. But the diver has a secret. Harnessing an unusual power, you’ll be able to possess sea creatures that roam the ocean void, discovering new creatures and using their unique abilities to solve puzzles, traverse the environment, and make your way deeper into the darkness. With the game only a few weeks away, we wanted to share one of the processes we’ve developed to bring our artist Tom’s traditional ink-on-paper art from still imagery into an interactive game world. From pen-and-ink drawings to game assets Getting Tom’s artwork into the game would be the biggest technical challenge for us. It was essential that the game looked like one of Tom’s paintings and not like his art had been transplanted out of context into something else. The idea was to give Tom near total control over the look of the game right from inside the drawing program. This means control over composition, camera framing, tonal contrast, lighting, shadow, texture, fog, all the stuff he would just draw naturally if he were working on one of his pieces. We had to find a way to let Tom do all this, while retaining the ability to reconstruct the whole thing in the game engine and make it interactive. We used layers in the drawing program to keep logical elements separated from each other, then wrote a script to churn through the layers and convert them into something the game engine could process. Bringing concept art to life in the game To create a level for Silt, Tom creates a single, unique, high-resolution image in a drawing program. He designs it, composes it, lights it, details it just as if he were producing a digital painting. We then run a script that turns the single layered art file into a fully interactive level in the game engine, slicing it into chunks, placing them in the correct places in the scene, generating collision, adding dynamic lighting, generating entrance and exit points, setting up cameras, and hooking up scripts for gameplay. We configure all of this using the names of the layers in the art file. Once that script runs, the level is ready to play. We can then add extra gameplay elements, visual effects and sounds in the game engine to help it come together into an immersive, atmospheric experience. When it was finished, Tom could design our game world with the confidence that his art would appear in-game exactly as he meant it to. Investing the time and effort getting the technical barriers out of the way of art can really pay off in the long run. We hope that gives you more of an insight into the world of Silt. One of our main ambitions for the game is to deliver a unique, surreal experience that we hope you’ll remember long after you’ve finished playing, and we can’t wait for you to discover the deep when the game launches on PS5 and PS4 on June 1. He employs an epic brawler fight style, using quick feet, aerial traversal, and sheer feral strength to confuse and disorient his opponents. He will leap and jump around the island. Figuring out where he will land next requires further on-the-ground research from Operators. Keep your distance. Operation Monarch Mode Intel It’s advised that all Operators come prepared with a full Quad; Operation Monarch supports 60 players using Resurgence rules. The goal is simple: Be the last team standing. On the ground, players will find Monarch Intel via Supply Boxes, special drops, and fallen enemies. Use this to charge a special meter that unlocks items such as Killstreaks and Loadout Drops, along with a unique and powerful Titan Killstreak reward for filling it up completely. While collecting intel and eliminating enemies, Operators will need to watch out for Kong and Godzilla. Dealing damage to either Titan awards additional Monarch Intel. Titan Frenzy At the start of an Operation Monarch match, and at another point throughout, Kong and Godzilla may become enraged and attack. This is known as a Titan Frenzy. After receiving a Titan Frenzy alert, an Operator has two options: tactically withdraw or attempt to suppress them by dealing direct damage. The squad who deals the most damage to either Kong or Godzilla during a Titan Frenzy will receive Monarch’s special S.C.R.E.A.M. Device. Runners-up will still earn Monarch Intel to count toward their special intel meter, whose final reward is the S.C.R.E.A.M. Device. S.C.R.E.A.M. Device The Titan S.C.R.E.A.M. Device (Titan Sonic Communication Radar and Echolocation Array Module) is a prototypical device developed by Monarch that allows humans to communicate with ancient creatures. In Operation Monarch, the S.C.R.E.A.M. Device is a Killstreak that grants its user one of two powers: Godzilla’s Heat Ray Breath or Kong’s ground pound and a rock throw. Once the attack type is chosen, the Operator can direct it toward any location on Caldera. To avoid a barrage of attacks, and to protect the sensory nerves of our Protector Titans, multiple S.C.R.E.A.M. Devices cannot be used in rapid succession. Like any other Killstreak, timing and positioning are two major factors to its effectiveness. Bringing the Titans to Call of Duty The creators behind Call of Duty are huge fans of these iconic monsters. To mark the momentous event, the devs discuss the excitement and responsibility that comes with bringing Godzilla and Kong into the game (plus some entertaining anecdotes from the process). Learn more from JJ Williams, associate creative director at Raven, and Jason Babler, associate live operations art director at Sledgehammer Games: Describe the team’s emotions around working with these legendary Titans, from when they first heard about it to first seeing it in game. Williams: I think excitement is an understatement. When we heard we would be working with Legendary Entertainment and on Titans in Warzone our minds were blown. We knew we had the opportunity to really swing for the fences and create an experience that hasn’t been seen yet. Babler: Collectively, these bundles were one of the most fun and challenging ones we put together so far! Thankfully, Legendary gave us a huge sandbox to design within, allowing us to ideate on designs based off Godzilla and Kong in a whole new way. We took these beloved Titans, combined them with our COD aesthetics, and designed truly unique Operator skins that haven’t been seen before. What were some of the technical challenges involved with bringing the Titans to the game? Williams: There were numerous challenges to getting two gargantuan Titans in the play space. I’ll save all the technical details but to keep Kong and Godzilla working within the Warzone tech and play nice with all the gameplay rules was quite the challenge. It hasn’t been easy but nothing good ever is. Can you share any funny moments from development that will stick with you? Williams: Some of the funniest moments involved unexpected bloopers we ran into early in the development process. Sometimes Kong would jump in the air and never come back down continuing to hop forever into space. Godzilla would sometimes just swim through the island like a land shark. All hilarious stuff. From a creative standpoint, what are some of the challenges in adapting the aesthetics of these iconic monsters into Operator skins? Babler: These skins proved to be quite challenging, due to the nature of the design challenge: How do you take these skyscraper size beasts, and make them still feel powerful as human-sized Operators? We wanted to avoid simply scaling down the Titans into a “person in a rubber-suit” version, especially with how Godzilla movies were originally created, or a cheesy ape suit. Our team went through a very long creative exploration, that had us go back to the drawing board more than once. However, we collectively found interesting character archetypes that just seemed to fit each Titan, and animation was able to fill those characters out with amazing move sets. Kong needed to be a brute of a soldier, so we took our biggest male rig, and then expanded the shoulder armor to more closely resemble Kong. For Godzilla, we wanted a layered look to mimic scales, and to sell a spine that can be lit up. The ghillie suit worked not only for lighting, but to suggest Godzilla’s scales, especially on the back. And we were inspired by the metal and tech of Mechagodzilla and kept coming back to a cyberpunk samurai theme. The guns were a little easier to conceive of, and the weapons and VFX team make our Ultra Godzilla gun feel entertaining and devastating at the same time. I remember the day that everything came together and we got to review the Godzilla gun inspect: sound effects from the movie, VFX made an amazing Godzilla breath effect… we all were just grinning like kids again for hours as we passed the video around the studio. Just over a month ago, we ran our first public network test of Salt and Sacrifice. Shane and I had been working on the game for over two years by that point, and our multiplayer tests had usually run small: a handful of folks, mostly the two of us throwing together different builds and making sure the networking didn’t explode. Verify your age to view this content. Verify your age to view this content. But as any Soulslike fan will tell you, there’s more to multiplayer than the base functionality. The real fun comes from that special something you get at scale–when communities form, languages develop, and players dueling each other goes from mechanical to straight-up magical. Shane and I are obviously both long-time Soulslike fans, and knew that particular brand of magic–the hasty alliances with strangers, the odd gestures, the dedication to fashion over function, the new weapon combos and strategies resulting from hours of investment towards different build paths–wasn’t something we’d likely find in the midst of development. Even with hundreds of hours of internal testing, we were still only playing with the same handful of people each time. So this network test, while also a fantastic source of information on balance, flow, matchmaking, and technical issues, was also the very first time we could legitimately engage in online antics with random folks. In other words: finally experience that Soulslike magic we’d been building up to since we started work on the game. And experience it we did. After spending these precious few pre-launch weeks alternating between full co-op playthroughs of (mostly) final code, tweaking movesets, drop rates, damage scaling, and the like, we can’t wait to experience this with more people. Salt and Sacrifice builds on Salt and Sanctuary’s style of combat, with a wide variety of attacks, movesets, and air combos, but now including sprinting, sprint attacks, and Runic Arts: special abilities tied to specific weapons. If I get some breathing space in a boss battle, I might launch a few salvos of slow-moving Dancing Spores from my Damp-Rot Stave, then switch to my katana-style Blazebrand, infuse it to deal flame damage over time, and charge into battle. There’s a certain magic to seeing different play styles and loadouts complement each other, where air combos, area of effect attacks, guard-breaking heavy melee, and rapid dagger strikes all work together to cut through enemy hordes. Multiplayer in Salt and Sacrifice does include PvP, and when we announced that, a top concern from players was that overpowered griefers would ruin their experience. As Soulslike fans, this is something we heavily relate to. We’ve seen countless online exchanges over invasion mechanics, with one side insisting that it’s part of the game, and the other arguing that it’s just not very fun to get stomped by someone with thousands of hours of experience and a deliberately overpowered PvP build. Invasions were deliberately more frequent in our network test (because they were, you know, being tested!), but in Salt and Sacrifice, we’re following the standard established in Dark Souls 3: you can only be invaded if you’ve already summoned a friendly ally. We’ve also included a full co-op mode, where you can progress jointly with a friend through the entire game (minus the tutorial). This co-op mode is also exempt from random invasions, unless the two of you summon a third ally. But hey, if you’re in a dueling mood, you can waive all these invasion requirements by lighting a special item called a red candle; its ominous glow signaling that you don’t mind being invaded, and can be by anyone, at any time. The platforming nature of the game, along with the dynamic and varied combat, means that certain weapon and runic attack combos may be better suited for different types of terrain, and chasing each other through falling hazards and traps is a contest of its own; you may be outmatched, but if you wall jump up a mine shaft, things may not go as well for anyone who follows. Impromptu fight clubs can emerge in all sorts of interesting places throughout the world, and we’re excited to see players take advantage of the wide variety of landscapes in their PvP experience. Shane and I have been filling the world of Salt and Sacrifice with all sorts of fun things over the last two years. From our expansive game map, to the unique enemies that fill it, to the weapons and armor you’ll loot and craft to overcome them, there’s been a lot of work to do to reach this moment. But it wasn’t until we got to experience it with you–the community–that we finally got a glimpse of the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.
