KontrolFreek "New Colors"

Recommended Posts

The FPS Freek Xbox 360 and PS3 controller mod increases your accuracy in first-person shooter games like Halo, Gears of War, Call of Duty and others. FPS Freek was designed and tested by professional gamers in tournaments across the country and the results are clear – FPS Freek enhances aiming precision and increases game performance with a minimal learning curve.

The added analog stick length provides 40% more linear distance from full stop to stop. This gives you more leverage and increased precision without disturbing your natural gaming playing feel.

This product is patent pending and fits both the Xbox 360 and PS3 controllers, as well as many others after-market versions.

These things are trick and all, but I don't see how they make you better?

It's not like you need more leverage to push the stick over with a cheater bar

I mean, with all of the in-game aim assist in console versions of the COD series and the massive area for hit detention (which sometimes appears to be outside of the target's body)... I don't see how this would make it easier to play when there is already a handicap? To me, it would just take longer to move the stick from side to side...

The idea behind it is that by lengthening the stick, the distance from top to bottom/side to side becomes greater without changing the actual angles of rotation. Because of this, moving the stick x mm results in a smaller resulting movement of your crosshairs. You are able to be much more precise because each movement results in a smaller resulting reaction. It's not the leverage that's helpful, rather the ability to make smaller, more precise movements that are possible with a shorter stick. The time spent moving the stick shouldn't change much, but it should help with making more precise and smooth movements with less "oversteer", so to speak.

Seems like it would be a waste of money to buy this achieve this effect when you can just change the sensitivity feature to low and get the same results. I can see how it would be more comfortable for some though.

Not so. Turning the sensitivity to low leaves you at a disadvantage. Especially on FPS games where the twitch rate is most important. I Like them most for comfort. But having your sensitivity/look speed al lthe way up and being able to control it better is a plus.

how much do these extend your sticks? i am trying to find exact measurements so I can

stack some pennies together or something just to feel what the new height will be. That

way I will know for sure if they will be more comfortable for me. Thnx.

About an 1 1/4".
