I'm pretty sure you can log in to your PSN name(s) on your slim no problem. Once you do that you should also be able to download anything that you have purchased from the PSN store such as the cold front pack to your slim without having to purchase it again. The changeover should be fairly simple. One thing you would want to do if your considering selling your fatty is format/restore it so that all of your data will be gone.

Your computer should never be in the DMZ. The DMZ is a zone that is outside of all security on the router thus making it exposed. This is ok for your PS3 since it is extremely difficult to be hacked and has never been hacked to my knowledge. Since routers assign IP address's in a first come first serve basis you need to give your ps3 a static IP to make sure that it will be the same all the time.

Be careful with the DMZ. What you want to do is make sure your PS3 always has the same IP adress on your router (static IP) then put it in the DMZ. Let's say you set the DMZ for 192.168.1.3 because that is what your PS3 is on at the moment. The next day when you start turning on your computers etc. the router will assign them IP's on a first come first serve basis. This could potentially mean that your computer could end up in the DMZ which wouldn't be a good thing. Sorry if you know this already here is something that might help you out.

Huh? I wouldn't recommend opening ports I prefer to give the PS3 a static IP and put it in the DMZ. If it is the same router modem combo how old is it is it possible the router is giving out with old age? They do get hot and tend to wear out over time in my experience. Nat type two is a good sign I would lean more towards interference or weak signal.

I hate the movies but I gotta say my wife is a rabid fan. She has read all the books she went to the midnight release for new moon and has had tickets for a while for the midnight release of the new one coming out. It's a romance thing and chicks dig it. I get it I just don't participate. That's not to say that I don't take one for the team once in a while and watch a chick flick with her once in a while. While I was one of the first to post in this thread that ranking up gives you no advantage in this game and I still stand by that statement. I always have to ask the question about people who do this sort of thing what else would they be willing to do. Would they build a lag switch? Would they alter the game code some way if they could? Shady behavior always puts the rest of you in question in my mind. :police:

I used to play wireless and now I'm wired I gotta say it is a huge difference and it doesn't take much to interfere with the signal. You might be better off with the power line. Also you said you switched routers what is your NAT type?

I feel ya. And I'm not condoning the lie. I think the point I was trying to make is that I don't believe his intent was malicious and people tend to focus on the wrong things when these kinds of things are brought up. People lose sight of the real issue. And speaking of "ranking up" ... I've read many posts where people are berated and spoken of in a negative light for ranking up and to now have people say "Who cares about that?" doesn't jive. (BTW, I don't know anything about FW. Is Tow saying John and Shane are FW members? If so, then I can certainly understand why someone would feel intimidated to step forward.) I don't know. My opinion is never popular opinion. I was sitting here reading these post and was thinking, really people don't care about ranking up anymore, when did this happen ? I mean whole clans have been banned from UF just because of members ranking up. So to shove the issue aside and focus on the matter in which the issue has been brought up instead of the issue at hand seems like everyone is trying to give FW a pass in some way. I don't think anyone wants to give anyone a pass it's just the whole thing leaves a lot of room for error. I expect we will see something from Shane, John or Ace here soon.

I don't understand why anyone would spend the time ranking up on this game anyway. There is absolutely no advantage to it with the exception of maybe getting your name on the Socom.com ticker. Honestly I have been in a hundred rooms that look like this in the lobby because the other team gets booted due to bad game code. Anyone who has spent any time in 32 player rooms on Socom has seen this more times than they would care to count. There could be something more sinister going on here but who really knows. They changed the game with the last patch to make it so that rank doesn't count if the teams are hugely unbalanced but it's not reliable. There is a lot of questions here and to me it looks like FW has some inter clan business that they need to handle.

If you haven't seen it it's on animal planet Friday nights and there is a new season currently running.

So when did 3D become the benchmark of online gaming? 3D is a fad. It always has been and always will be. 3D is nothing but a gimmick. I don't see how they seem to stay behind because they decide to do a little something called Kinect instead of support 3D. Looks like everyone is forgetting how much more the 360 offers than any other console on the market. Even though the PS3 is now catching up to the 360 (it took them long enough), the 360 easily sets the bar when it comes to added services to the 360. Everything is better on the 360 than it is on the PS3. The 360 seems to keep adding more to their Gold service, while Playstation Plus is Sony's ATTEMPT at following 360's footsteps. I don't know about you guys, but I don't get a boner when people mention 3D. 3D is just going to be another one of those things that try to make shitty games look better since everyone will be all hyped by 3D. I'm glad Microsoft decided not to follow the tracks of the others and decided to go even further with Kinect. I don't believe this version of 3d is a fad. Previous versions of 3d have been limited by the technology but the tech has come a long long way. The version of 3d (real 3d) that they are pawning off in most theaters these days isn't true 3d. If you don't have the shutter glasses your not seeing the best of what you can see. This and 3d on large tv's in hd is where things are going and people are buying the products so it will continue on. Espn is in on it now with a 3d channel and broadcasting the world cup and will be broadcasting football games on it. The only drawback right now is it is still pretty pricey Those screens are 23.6" a piece adding up to over 66" that you are sitting about 3~5 feet away from. @Chili you can finish a game of civ on the console in an hour pretty easily the game is pretty much designed to work that way. Also the new Xbox has been nicknamed slim by xbox fans. That's not what microsoft calls it.

When CIV5 comes out lets play a game. Do you play Civ 4.? (I haven't played in a year or so) I liked the Xbox version of Civ, it was easier for my little brain to handle.. and even then its a bit too much for me at times. I get really lost in the PC version, but its fun. lol Hell yeah I'll mark it on my calendar. I used to play civ 3 but kinda got away from pc gaming. It's time to make a come back I recently built a pretty beastly new machine and I'm ready to rock. Probably the biggest thing that killed it for me on the console was the shortened down game times. Everything was designed to only last about an hour so by the time you really started to get your civ built up the game would be ending. I missed the fine tuning of your civ and having massive battles with multiple other civs. It does have a pretty steep learning curve but that's part of the fun.

Civilization..?Dont know what "flash point" is & cant find anything on IGN. I haven't played "Civ 4" on PC for a long time, but i like it. lol Civilization 5 http://www.civilization5.com/ I mentioned it because it's a game that was brought over to consoles but was so watered down and didn't feel like a real civ game. Yes Operation flash point dragon rising. It was a simulation style shooter. Problem was it was a bad port the graphics were weak compared to the PC and the PC also featured a mission editor. Crysis will be another game that will be better on PC and will be in 3d. In 3d on the PS3 I'm sure it will look good but I can pretty much guarantee there will be some features missing like mission editors etc. Anyway congrats to the xboxers.
