  1. Röki is a multi-award winning adventure game inspired by Scandinavian folklore, and arrives on PlayStation 5 on October 28. Set in the stunning, snow-capped wilderness, you play Tove. She’s a young girl plunged into a living fairytale, where you must solve puzzles, collect curiosities, and uncover a tale of tragic loss. Your quest is to rescue your brother Lars from Röki; a gigantic pitch-black creature with a mysterious smile. Like the movie Jaws, our game is eponymously named after its monster, although there may be more to Röki than meets the eye… Play Video As Tove, you explore the enchanting 3D world, find long-forgotten objects, talk with misunderstood monsters, and solve ancient puzzles to unlock paths deeper into the wilderness. You can also dive into the pages of Tove’s handwritten journal that she scribbles in as you explore, charting her adventure. This includes notes of folklore, loot, and wilderness “badge” achievements, as well as some of her inner thoughts and reflections. The game’s combination of fairytale adventure, emotional storytelling, and signature graphical art style has won it many accolades, accumulating in nominations for Best Debut Game at The Game Awards and Best British Game and Best Debut Game at the BAFTA Game Award, which was amazing for us as a tiny indie team. Adventure for all Röki is our take on modernizing the classic adventure games we loved growing up – games like Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, and Grim Fandango. We wanted to capture the storytelling and spirit of adventure from those games, but more importantly, update the play style for audiences today. You take direct control of Tove with the pad and can explore the world in 3D, rather than directing her with a cursor. Not only does this make the game feel more immediate and responsive but it also allows the player to form a better bond with Tove, as they’re playing as her, rather than directing her from afar. As much as we love the classic adventure game, we wanted to make a frustration-free adventure that both seasoned and boxfresh adventurers alike could enjoy. Much of this came down to accessible puzzle design that makes real-world sense and then lots of user testing to see how players responded to the gameplay. It was essential for the game to pose a challenge but have optional in-game assistance at hand if players got stuck. To that end, you can flash interactable objects in the scene and also dip into Tove’s journal for extra clues as to what to do next. Essentially, a story isn’t a story without an ending and we wanted our tale to be one that players could enjoy right through to its final climactic pages. Big monsters and a big heart The world of Röki has a wide cast of creatures inspired by Scandinavian folklore, but it’s not about shooting or hacking the monsters you meet into tiny bits. Instead, it’s about finding out what’s wrong with them, befriending them, and seeing if you can solve the issues they have. Sometimes even monsters need a helping hand. Now, this sounds lovely but Röki is also pretty creepy. The eighties kid’s films we grew up with (films like The Dark Crystal, Return to Oz, and The Neverending Story) weren’t afraid to scare their diminutive viewers half to death and we decided to follow their lead on not pulling any punches with Röki in the fright department. This also resonates well with the game’s fairytale roots, which in their original forms were pretty grisly. Storycraft We’re firm believers in the power of video games to tell amazing stories. For our debut indie game we wanted to flex our storytelling muscles and deliver a heartfelt and unforgettable narrative that resonates with players around the world. This isn’t just the story of folklore, jotun and the mystery of the wilderness, it’s also the very human story of a family becoming whole again after life-shattering events. Throughout the game, Tove will confront distorted memories from her past. The player must navigate these living dreams, confront Tove’s fears, and ultimately solve their riddles to reunite her family. Without saying too much, the theme of family runs throughout the game, even among some of its monstrous inhabitants. Into the wild Thanks for reading. We’re very happy to announce that Röki will be arriving on PS5 on October 28. We’re excited to welcome new adventurers to wrap up warm, pull on their snow boots, and accompany Tove in a journey through a fantastical wilderness in this award-winning adventure. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/gWvNj7yxRD4View the full article

  4. Song in the Smoke is a game of survival. It’s a simulation in which the player is alone in the wilderness, with only their wits, strength, and perception on their side in the struggle to live another day. It’s not simply an expression of “man against nature,” but rather an attempt to capture the timeless feeling of tuning into nature—paying attention to its frequencies, making thousands of small decisions that together make up the difference between life and death. It’s a game that tries to connect players to a form of existence that modern life has largely disconnected us from. A typical day in Song in the Smoke begins before dawn, with light slowly peeking over the horizon through the misty air. As I wake from my slumber, I watch warily as the final embers of my campfire crackle, making sure to ride it all the way up until sunlight. As is always the case, I have much to do today. Night will always be cold and dangerous, so my first order of business is preparing for this immutable reality. I actively begin the search for firewood; I can only carry so much, and must think strategically. My campsite is a potential base for tonight, so I leave some of the logs and branches I’ve gathered there. But one never knows where they’ll end up by nightfall, so I’m sure to keep plenty of wood in my satchel as well. I’m also constantly looking for raw materials of all sorts. Specifically, I need to fix my club—it’s a good, sturdy club, but the rock is about to break, so I keep an eye out for a suitable one to replace it with. I’m also running low on leather straps, which are a key to building dependable clothing and tools. In this case, I’m fortunate to have some on my camp’s drying and tanning rack, otherwise I’d have no choice but to go hunting. The other key to survival is, of course, food. Nature provides enough small snacks for regular sustenance—berries and mushrooms make up much of my diet. But I need a big meal every day or two, and out here in the wild, animal flesh is my only option. I’m not going hunting on this particular day, as hunting and harvesting occupies a good chunk of my daylight hours. Today, I want to travel light and forge ahead to reach new territory, so I bring along some dried meats that I’ve been saving. I’ve also packed a whole suite of arrows to protect me against predators; my bow is cleanly tuned and ready for action. Danger comes in many forms out here, and even the best laid plans can be laid bare by a lion waiting in ambush. I keep a lookout for small stones that can be converted into arrowheads, should I need more. As I make my way north, I’m exploring the new space and peeking my head into all its nooks and crannies. I’m searching for all manner of raw materials, but also statues and carvings from my ancestors who came before me. I can only place three campfires per world; as such, I need to consider their locations carefully, in order to cover the entire area over the course of the day. Space mapping is therefore an essential part of life out here in the wild. I’m constantly, acutely aware of the passage of time. As the light starts to fade into a warm red, and the crickets and cicadas come to life, I realize it’s probably too late to venture forward; I want to be building my campfire by dusk. I get back to my camp with a bit of time to spare, and I feel comforted. I build my fire up, careful to maintain its heat and fuel levels. I cook the food I foraged and caught that day, as it’s more nutritious that way. I’m thankful for a full night’s rest, a full belly, and a warm fire to keep out the darkness. The PlayStation VR adventure of Song in the Smoke launches tomorrow, October 7 on PlayStation 4. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/dew584LyEYQView the full article
  5. Feel that chill in the air? That means it’s time… time for the return of Fortnitemares! From now until November 1, Fortnitemares will be having a spooky yet special impact on the Island. What’s in the Cards? Navigating through a Fortnitemares season is not a good idea without a little foresight, so we have come up with a plan: fortune telling. In Fortnitemares 2021, fortune-telling cards will reveal what monsters — as well as what Fortnite characters with Halloween twists — will come to the Item Shop. Your fortune must be good today, because the cards are already about to reveal two iconic monsters soon to be lurking their way into the Item Shop. The cards are showing… Frankenstein’s Monster and The Mummy, both a part of the Universal Monsters Set. Frankenstein’s Monster will be available in the Item Shop starting October 5, 2021, with The Mummy arriving later in Fortnitemares. And there are still many more cards to be revealed. Keep track of the cards by following along with Fortnite’s social channels and the evolving page on Fortnite’s website. Brave the Fortnitemares Experience in Creative They’re alive! The all-new Creative games, that is. In August, we asked our talented community to make Creative games that embodied the spirit of Fortnitemares, and the community did not disappoint. Test your will in these scary Creative experiences by entering the “Fortnitemares” section in the playlist menu. Get Some Scares at Shortnitemares There are few better ways to wrap up the season of frights than short films . Short Nite is back, and it will be filled with Halloween-themed shorts. To truly get the movie experience, community creator team Quantum Builds have built a theater that players can watch the shorts in. Each short will have its own individual room that it will be played in, but you can also go to the festival room to watch them all in a loop. Outfits so sweet they are scary, new thrilling experiences in Creative, and even a chance to kick back to some shorts. There’s a lot in your fortune for Fortnitemares 2021. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/u9cfpxKFXfoView the full article
  6. Welcome, everyone, to Jungle Island – home to AiAi and his monkey gang! I’m Masao Shirosaki, citizen of the island and producer of the Super Monkey Ball series. Please grab a banana and join me while I share the story behind the latest title in the series, Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, out today on PS4 and PS5. Play Video A new beautiful monkey world What led to the creation of this title? When we released the last Super Monkey Ball game, we received a ton of requests from fans around the world wishing for a remake of the original Super Monkey Ball and Super Monkey Ball 2. This project started as a direct answer to those fan voices. Starting with the original stage data from a game that is now 20 years old (happy anniversary AiAi!), our first step was making the monkey gang’s world more colorful and vibrant, upping the texture resolution and remaking the environments and decorations in detail. We also fully remade the UI to give the new game a modern look. Plus: adding more bananas so it feels even better to roll through the stages. Another important focus was play tempo. We shortened the time between “Fall out” and “Retry” as much as possible so you can get right back to playing without loading time. Stage adjustments won’t ruin your memories In terms of the stage difficulty, we made sure to keep it as close to the original as possible to honor the memories fans have of the original games. However, there were some stages in the original that were so hard it made you want to stare blankly at the sky. I’m sure there are some of you who know what I’m talking about… For instance, “EXAM-C” from the original Super Monkey Ball. This stage has a beautiful nighttime landscape but the stage was so difficult you had no time to enjoy the view. There were elevations and incredibly narrow, curved paths that required your entire focus at all times. We made some slight tweaks to the stage, extending the completion time and widening the curved path in the second half of the stage so you can play a bit more relaxed. I’m sure now you can at least somewhat enjoy the beautiful view while you play! Another classic stage is “ARTHROPOD” from Super Monkey Ball 2. This stage involves navigating a large arthropod turning in circles (naturally). There were originally gaps in the stage that made it extremely difficult. I can’t remember how many times I had a fall out on this stage because I got stuck on the gap and then got kicked by the arthropod… So, we got rid of the gap. The stage is still quite challenging but it’s now at least a bit easier to avoid the arthropod’s legs! Other than a few slight stage adjustments we also added new support features like the “Helper Function” that make the game more accessible. With a little help, even I was able to beat the game! *laugh* Of course those features are entirely optional, and for those who want to play the original difficulty, there’s a mode that lets you do that too…so no worries. Not just a remake of the main game Apart from the main game, we also made sure to remake all 12 of the Party Games from Super Monkey Ball Deluxe. They’re 1-4 multiplayer so you can play with friends & family, and some of the Party Games have network rankings so you can compete for the world’s best score. We also added a TON of new features like Golden Banana Mode where you try to collect all the bananas within a certain time, Dark Banana Mode where you try to reach the goal without touching any rotten bananas, and Reverse Mode that swaps the start and goal for a different type of Super Monkey Ball challenge. You can also customize AiAi and the gang’s outfits and monkey balls from over 100 different items. Plus, there’s a new Photo Mode in the main game so you can take photos of your favorite SMB fashion moments for each character! On top of all the new modes, there’s over 700 missions you can complete and a host of new playable characters: Sonic & Tails, Kazuma Kiryu, and Beat from Jet Set Radio are all joining the gang on their adventure! Add it all up and Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania is far more than just a remake of the original game – we tried to make it as fun as possible with all the various new features! Finally, we wanted to cement the 20th Anniversary with a special limited-edition physical release that celebrates this monumental milestone! The Anniversary Edition comes with a 40-page art book featuring art from every game in the series straight from the Sega archives. It also includes a collectible sleeve, reversible cover, and 10 exclusive cosmetic items. This was our way of celebrating one of the most beloved series in Sega history with the Banana Maniacs. There’s still a lot more I want to talk about but AiAi is calling me back to Jungle Island – my deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported Super Monkey Ball over the past 20 years! Let’s play Party Games together if we have the chance! Until we meet again, go bananas! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/zIt_8p9gi7IView the full article

  9. Puzzle Bobble 3D: Vacation Odyssey is the latest adventure in the Puzzle Bobble saga – and while you may recognize some familiar faces and color-matching, bubble bursting gameplay, this all-new adventure is unlike any other game in the series. Tomorrow, get ready to experience the first-ever 3D Puzzle Bobble game, which delivers a new challenge as you aim to solve three-dimensional bubble clusters with depth and reactive physics. With 100 levels worth of escalating difficulty, Puzzle Bobble 3D can present quite a challenge. But you’re in luck! All of us here at Survios want to make sure you get the most out of your vacation, and we’re here to share our top 10 tips and tricks that’ll have you bursting bubbles with the best of them. 1. Watch Your Win Condition In Story Mode, pay attention to what the win condition is for each level. Sometimes you don’t have to pop all the bubbles to complete the puzzle. For example, if your goal is to Free the Chack’n, you only have to pop the bubbles with Chack’n inside them to win. Free the Chack’n! 2. Consider Clearing One Color at a Time If you have a chance to eliminate all the bubbles of one color from the board, do it! When there’s fewer remaining colors to match, there’s a greater chance that the next bubble Bob gives you will be the one you need to clear a big cluster. 3. Avoid Sticking Extra Bubbles to the Core Every bubble puzzle is made up of dozens of bubbles that branch off of a central core. On many occasions, your goal is to burst all the bubbles surrounding the core so that it activates. But if you shoot bubbles directly at the exposed core before all the other bubbles around it have been burst, they’ll just attach to it, and you’ll have to waste shots bursting them in addition to the other bubbles. 4. Cancel Your Shot at Anytime If you’re playing with a DualShock or DualSense wireless controller and you don’t like the shot you’ve got lined up, you can always press L2 to cancel your shot. You can also cancel your shot when playing in VR with Playstation Move controllers. After you’ve pulled back the plunger on your bubble cannon, simply return your hand to the neutral position and release the trigger button to cancel your shot. Cancelling your shot gives you the opportunity to try again for the perfect match or equip a powerup. R/G, B/Y and UNI Color Blindness Accessibility Options 5. Explore the Color Blindness Accessibility Modes If you’re one of the millions of gamers who are colorblind, you can still enjoy Puzzle Bobble 3D. Just check out the colorblind options in the settings menu to find a color scheme that works for you. We have color modes to accommodate Red/Green and Blue/Yellow color sight deficiencies as well as a Universal mode for those with Monochromacy. 6. Boomerang Your Bubble Shots If you miss a shot, your bubble will always be drawn toward the core. If you’re trying to reach a bubble cluster in a tricky position, take advantage of this by shooting over or around the puzzle and letting it home in on the far side of the core. Hmm, I wonder what this powerup does? 7. The Bomb is a BLAST! Of all the power-ups in the game, the bomb is one of the most useful thanks to its ability to burst multiple bubbles of different colors at once. If you’ve got a bomb on deck, try to save it until the puzzle’s core is partially exposed, then launch the bomb directly at it. If it makes contact with the core, it can burst a huge number of bubbles and make the rest of the level a lot easier. In fact, all of the powerups have their own set of strengths against certain types of puzzle clusters and situations. We recommend trying them all out. 8. Unlocking the Hardest Trophy on your Way to Platinum Matching up bubbles to pop is super satisfying, but longtime Puzzle Bobble fans will know that disconnecting large groups of bubbles from the gameboard is one of the keys to success. The same is true in Puzzle Bobble 3D. In fact, there’s even a trophy for making a match that disconnects a whopping 100 bubbles in a single shot. Whoa! If you’re skilled enough to unlock this trophy, you’ll be well on your way to beating all 100 levels in our Story Mode and earning yourself a fresh Platinum Trophy. 9. Burden Your Opponent with Bubbles in Duel Mode Did you know that Puzzle Bobble 3D features a competitive online Duel Mode? That’s right. In this mode, an endless swarm of bubbles will appear steadily rising towards a vortex hovering ominously overhead. The goal is to outlast your opponent by popping all the bubbles before they get sucked up by the vortex. Of course, clearing out bubbles faster than your opponent is the key to winning. But, in traditional Puzzle Bobble fashion, you can make your opponent’s job a lot harder. In Duel Mode, every time you make a match of 20 bubbles or more, you’ll send jammer bubbles directly to your opponent’s gameboard. So be on the lookout for those big groups of bubbles to pop. 10. Mastering Every Level with 3 Stars Only the most ardent bubble popping fans will attempt to complete each Story Mode level with a full 3 star rating. Here are a handful of tips for those willing to brave that challenge. Most levels in Story Mode come with a hard bubble limit. When you complete these levels, you’re actually awarded bonus points for each leftover bubble. The lesson here is simple: beat levels in as few shots as possible to score the most points. A similar principle applies to levels with a time limit: beat the level as quickly as possible to rack up the bonus points. Puzzle Bobble 3D: Vacation Odyssey is easy to learn but tough to master, so our most valuable tip is to keep practicing until you’re a bubble-blasting pro! With more than 100 colorful puzzles in exotic vacation destinations, honing your skills has never been more relaxing – or more fun. Puzzle Bobble 3D: Vacation Odyssey bursts onto PS4, PS5, and PS VR tomorrow. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/vkBvaHOxWVQView the full article
  10. We have lift-off: Jett: The Far Shore is out tonight on PS5 and PS4! To mark the occasion, here’s a video featuring composer scntfc’s song “Jett To Cosmodrome Z-13” to draw you in. Play Video The connections between Jett: The Far Shore and my prior effort as director and co-creator, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, can be felt on several levels. There are vibes in common, let’s say. Even sworcery’s explicit segmentation – into four “sessions” – has its echo in Jett: The Far Shore. More on this below. That said, Jett is very much its own thing, and it’s strong out of the gate. It was evident to me, years ago, that for an unconventional and ambitious project like Jett to properly resonate, it could use a banger of a first half hour. I figured we ought to pull out all the stops to immediately immerse the player in this new science fiction cosmos, then in short order give players some time at the Jett’s helm, all while building up a sense of how Jett’s storytelling operates on a few orders of magnitude, with enough intimacy and interiority to forge a human connection and stir people’s curiosity, coupled with enough cinematic bombast to impress. I love how 0. Embark turned out, how it reels you in and pulls you across the stars. I hope you check it out! Play Video Towards the end of 0. Embark, Jett’s ~30 minute prologue, Jett’s title card accompanies you to the far shore of this cosmic ocean. Ghost of Tsushima’s creative co-lead Jason Connell at Sucker Punch, someone who knows a thing or two about title cards and who I’ve been fortunate to call a friend of late, had this to say about Jett’s title card: “Sure, title sequences are cool but the best ones have the spirit of the game embedded into them. Jett’s title sequence contains a strong spirit. One that propels you forward with excitement and earnest curiosity about what is yet to be discovered.” Then, prologue over, The Mother Structure securely in orbit, Jett pauses to surface an episode description, explicitly letting you know that, in order to tackle the next episode, a robust feature film length episode named “I. Deploy”, you’ll have to set aside around two hours worth of attention. This is our first invitation for you to stop, take a breath, stew on all that has just transpired, consider the story from a few perspectives, and decide for yourself when you’re feeling ready to plunge on. Once the clamor and grandeur and spectacle of I. Deploy subsides, there’s II. Investigate, clocking in at around an hour. It’s a brief, heady trip to Tor. After that, you’ll likely be due for a bit of a walk and a think. Then, having traversed those early episodes, you’ll know what Jett’s all about, and you can decide when you’re ready to tackle III. Adapt (3 hours) and finally IV. Persevere (3 hours). This is where the adventure broadens, deepens, gets a bit spicy, and finds its own particular groove for a while. The intent with this explicit segmentation is to create a design that feels finite and traversable, for people like me who have a need to plan their leisure time. I like to know what I’m in for, and what to strive towards. I’ve grown accustomed to being able to know the length of a book or a chapter, or an episode of television, or the general duration of a film, and I tend to appreciate having this information. For some people, having a rough outline in place might let them more easily relax into the experience. I’ll note that the above segmented design had been in place for years, so it was a positive revelation when, in 2019, we were invited to see what SIE had been cooking up with the PlayStation 5, and we learned all about Activities. Great minds, etc. :) In any case, Jett’s out, we’re psyched, so please: embark with us! More from us soon, as we’re just starting to bang the drum about Jett: The Far Shore’s Official Soundtrack, the often breathtaking symphonic score composed over long years by scntfc in collaboration with Superbrother A/V. Jett: The Far Shore will be available tonight, October 4 at 9pm Pacific Time, and available widely on October 5. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/BPvImw1mGrYView the full article
  11. Hello Travelers! Once again, your Genshin Impact dev team is here to bring you the newest information about the latest Genshin Impact update! With Version 2.2 Into the Perilous Labyrinth of Fog, coming on October 13, we’re going to bring you the last of the six major islands of Inazuma and Thoma as a playable character, together with his Hangout Event. Meanwhile, you may also step up to new challenges in Inazuma with Tartaglia and Xinyan, or enjoy some time with old friends in Liyue, Mondstadt, or in your personal realm. Besides, if you haven’t received the free five-star crossover character Savior From Another World Aloy yet, please make sure to check her out during Version 2.2. You can also receive Predator, a special bow tailor-made for Aloy, and start hunting together in the world of Teyvat. Play Video An Island Shrouded in Fog While each of the major islands in Inazuma has its own unique characteristics, Tsurumi Island might be the toughest one for wanderers and explorers. The dense fog that envelops the entire island is a strong deterrent to most outsiders. You will have to find your way in, and be careful about getting lost in the fog which you can barely see through. New monstrous beasts also lurk in the gloomy mist. The Rifthounds and the Rifthound Whelps are stealthy monsters from the Abyss which can turn invisible, sneaking around for the best opportunity to land a strike in combat. Both the Rifthounds and Rifthound Whelps have Electro or Geo attributes. But what makes this species really dangerous is their ability to apply the Corrosion status to enemies. When an attack hits a character, all party members will be affected by the Corrosion status and continually lose HP regardless if they’re shielded or not. So beware of the hounds! In addition, Tsurumi Island appears to be the focus of recent research by a scholar from Sumeru. In the Shadow of the Ancients seasonal event, you can team up with the Sumeru scholar to form a research team to accomplish investigation commissions across Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma. The aim is to defeat an Anomalous Model Ruin Grader that seems to be constantly drawing power from an unknown source of energy to regenerate itself. Reuniting With Friends We believe many of you have been busy exploring new areas ever since the Inazuma region was launched this summer. Now that the cool autumn is slowly approaching, it might be a good time to hang out with your friends from Inazuma, Thoma and Sayu, take on a new challenge with Tartaglia and Xinyan, or have fun with the new rhythm game with more companions. First of all, Thoma, who accompanied the Traveler in the Inazuma storyline will be joining as a new four-star playable character. Renowned as the “fixer” in Inazuma, Thoma is also a reliable teammate in combat, providing strong defense and buffs. Thoma wields a polearm and holds a Pyro Vision. His Elemental Skill Blazing Blessing can deal AoE Pyro Damage, apply Pyro to himself, and summons a defensive Blazing Barrier. When the Blazing Barrier is active, the amount of Damage Absorption it takes can stack if another Blazing Barrier is obtained again, refreshing its duration as well. With his Elemental Burst “Crimson Ooyoroi”, Thoma can help his teammates deal additional Pyro Damage to enemies. He even has a special Talent which grants successful fishing attempts in Inazuma a 20% chance of scoring a double catch. Two old friends, “Childe” Tartaglia, Eleventh of the Fatui Harbingers and Xinyan, Liyue’s rock ‘n’ roll musician, will make an appearance in Inazuma during the Labyrinth Warriors event. You will enter a domain called the Mystic Onmyou Chamber, accompanied by a strange paper figure named Shiki Taishou who can provide special help and buffs. Tough fights and valuable rewards that can be redeemed from the event shop await you to claim! Additionally, Childe will also be appearing in his Event Wish rerun, followed by Hu Tao and Thoma in the later Event Wish. Last but not least, if you enjoy rhythm games, now is the time to play! In the Tuned to the World’s Sounds event, you will receive a new instrument Floral Zither to play a music piece with Ningguang, Zhongli, Keqing, Xiao, Sangonomiya Kokomi, Kamisato Ayaka, and the Raiden Shogun at different locations respectively. Relax in Your Realm With Version 2.2, we are also adding more functions to the existing gameplay. For those of you who enjoy the Serenitea Pot, now it’s time to consider remodeling your realm again. A new Inazuma-themed realm layout Silken Courtyard can now be unlocked by Travelers who have leveled up their Sacred Sakura’s Favor to Level 40. More Inazuma-style Furnishing Blueprints are also added in the coming version, and you may obtain them from the teapot spirit Tubby, the Sacred Sakura, certain World Quests, or a brand-new type of treasure chest called Remarkable Chests on Tsurumi Island. Other than the Inazuma-style furnishings, we also added a new furnishing type and more flowers. With the Floating Platform, you can now consider building your own adepti abode upon it. The Dreams of Bloom event also gives a chance to grow special flowers and use them as furnishings to decorate your realm. More DualSense Wireless Controller Support Since the release of the native PS5 version of Genshin Impact, some of our team members have been working on more features for the DualSense Controller. In Version 2.1, our team introduced the use of the adaptive triggers for our fishing gameplay. As you start reeling in your rod, you can feel the tension of the line change when pulling the R2 trigger. We’ve also been applying haptic feedback for some scenarios, items, and characters. And that’s all for now, Traveler. Don’t forget to explore Tsurumi Island and I hope you continue to enjoy a thrilling adventure in Inazuma. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/HJLxoTOYAj4View the full article

  15. Happy Halloween season, friends. We’re excited to open up the voting boo-ths for the month of September 2021. Deciding your favorite will be no easy task, as the past month was packed with some scary-good games. Think hard before casting a vote for Deathloop, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Life is Strange: True Colors, Tales of Arise, or any of the other contenders listed in the polls below. Happy voting! How does it work? At the end of every month, PlayStation.Blog will open a poll where you can vote for the best new game released that month. Soon thereafter, we’ll close the polls, tally your votes, and announce the winner at PlayStation.Blog. PlayStation Store will also showcase some top Players’ Choice winners throughout the year. What is the voting criteria? That’s up to you! If you were only able to recommend one new release to a friend that month, which would it be? In keeping with our long tradition in the Game of the Year Awards, remastered or re-released games won’t qualify. Ambitious, larger-scale rebuilds and remakes like Shadow of the Colossus and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will. How are nominees decided? The PlayStation.Blog and PlayStation Store editorial teams will gather a list of that month’s most noteworthy releases and use it to seed the poll. Write-in votes will be accepted. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/yW9MHqA-ugoView the full article
  16. Halloween is almost upon us and – like a mischievous ghost hiding behind your bedroom door with a party popper — the Dreams community is prepared to scare. For our second-ever All Hallows’ Dreams celebration, we asked players to help us create the ultimate haunted fairground by carving pumpkins, creating scarecrows — and building parts of a collaborative ghost train. Today, we are thrilled to announce the full title of this year’s event… All Hallows’ Dreams: Ghost Train! (Who saw that name coming? Oh, literally everyone? Fair enough.) We can also now reveal when we’re launching All Hallows’ Dreams: Ghost Train. The fun and frights will begin on October 15 and run through November 1 for all Dreams players! Read on to find out about the tricks and treats we and the coMmunity have in store for you this Halloween… The Ghost Train The headline attraction of our carnival, whispers of this haunted fairground attraction have travelled far and wide across the Dreamiverse. Buckle up as the Dreams community takes you on a tour through terrifying tracks made with our creation kit, which we’ve stitched together into the ultimate thrill-ride. Choose your path across the ghost train’s many rails, shoot targets to set high scores and enjoy scares galore! And for the bravest among you? Try putting on your PlayStation VR* headset to experience the entire ride in virtual reality. Gulp. Don’t own a copy of Dreams? Never fear: All Hallows’ Dreams: Ghost Train will also be available to play in the free Trial version of the game. Pumpkins and Scarecrows Last year’s pumpkin patch has had a bit of an upgrade. This year, in addition to giving our community creators a template to carve their own jack-o-lanterns, we challenged them to design their own scarecrows. The results are… horrifying. Which is to say: fantastic job, everyone! You’ve officially creeped us out. It’s well worth popping by the carnival’s creepy cemetery to admire these creations for yourself. Before you do, why not swing by the costume tent, and get in the Halloween spirit with your choice of fancy dress? Quests and Minigames A carnival wouldn’t be complete without prizes. Our Halloween hub is so much more interactive and alive this year, and the more you explore this strange and magical place, the more rewards you’ll discover… Firstly, anyone who logs into the full version of Dreams from October 15 until November 1 that missed out on the Halloween Imps from last year’s event will instantly receive all of those imps. In addition to this, we’ve got three brand-new imps to give out! Everyone who logs into the full version of Dreams during the above time period will be rewarded with our friendly clown imp, Pag. You can win Emmett, the scientist imp, through playing all the shooter puzzles in The Fearcade: Tent 1 – one of two tents full of weird and wonderful fairground minigames made by us at Media Molecule. What’s more, inquisitive players will find that helping a mysterious (and unfortunate) character yields yet another prize… the satisfaction of being a good person. Just kidding! It’s another imp: Coco the scarecrow. Make sure to check out everything All Hallows’ Dreams: Ghost Train has to offer if you want to collect them all! Even more! But that’s not all. As is tradition, we have our annual in-game Halloween Community Jam, which always delivers the goods (remember arcade survival game Ghost Geezers and spooky adventure Trick or Treatment from last year?). We’d love for you to come and play some of the spookiest submissions for yourself. There will even be some recommendations for scarily good stuff to play this Halloween season over on our editorial blog, The Impsider. Or should that be… The Imspider? Hmm, looks like a curse is afoot… By now, you can probably tell that we absolutely love Halloween here at Media Molecule. It’s been so much fun putting this celebration together with the help of our talented coMmunity of creators, and we hope you’ll join us for fairground fun, frolics and fear on October 15 in Dreams! We’d love to see your pictures of you exploring the carnival, playing games and riding the ghost train – you can share them with us on social media by using the hashtags #DreamsPS4 and #AllHallowsDreams. Happy Halloween, everybody! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/jB9tWtTyI5wView the full article
  17. Badass gunslinging anti-hero Grave is back in the upcoming action-packed gun kata game Gungrave G.O.R.E, where you’ll face a multitude of ruthless enemies, some with the power to evolve and transform into Superior versions of themselves. One of the most fascinating and deadly of these is without a doubt Yensen… Today we can reveal that legendary artist Ikumi Nakamura is working alongside developer Iggymob on a number of character designs, bringing her own unique, elegant style to the game with spectacular results. What appealed to you most about working on Gungrave G.O.R.E? Nakamura: I used to play the PlayStation 2 version of Gungrave. Since I was a fan of Naito-sensei’s Trigun, I naturally thought “I will buy Gungrave”. When Iggymob contacted me, I was happy to hear that it was an offer to work on a piece that I had once purchased. It was an honor to work with Naito-sensei indirectly. They told me that they knew how they would like to approach the visual aspect, but the core visual concept and its impact was not quite there. The fact that I could refine the visual concept was the most interesting part when working on Gungrave G.O.R.E. In terms of the actual work process, I had to think of how to transform and bring Naito-sensei’s characters to life. This was both an appealing and challenging part of the project. Maintaining the main worldview of GORE and adding the “Ikumi-nized” style was the most challenging of all. I used to think “Wow, what am I going to do?” because of the pressure that I felt, but still moved on with the visualization. Yensen is the boss of the Hong Kong branch of Raven Clan, a criminal organisation hell-bent on their goal of spreading the dangerous drug “SEED” across the world in an effort to control humanity. Yensen is hungry for more power within Raven Clan, and will go above and beyond to make sure he succeeds (and Grave fails). As a Martial Arts specialist he prefers things up close and personal, making him a tricky target for Grave’s trademark pistols. What inspired the design of Yensen Superior? Nakamura: Everything is related to how Yensen was raised in Hong Kong. I was inspired by Bian Lian, the traditional form of Chinese entertainment where the faces would change in a split second. This translated into Yensen’s movements during the battle to be unusual and eye-catching. I also had a vision at one point that Yensen Superior’s mask would move like Rorschach from Watchmen. How did you approach mixing your art style with the style of the game? Did you have to approach the challenge/work flow differently? Nakamura: I’m also working on other characters and bosses’ designs as well. Additionally, there is a special design of Grave that I’m working on, so please stay tuned for the upcoming news. Gungrave G.O.R.E will launch in 2022, published by Prime Matter. Play Video Unleash the Cerberus Watch the extended trailer complete with the latest, blood-spraying, goretastic gameplay as the dual pistol wielding, coffin carrying, undead manifestation of retribution, twisted justice and loyalty unleashes his vengeful fury on his hapless foes (with a few surprises to boot). http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/G4DPXSruB24View the full article
  18. Hey everyone, we’ve been rolling out some new maps and modes in Destruction AllStars over the past few months and it’s been fantastic to see the community’s reaction to the new content along with all the carnage and destruction in the arena*! If you haven’t been keeping up, we’ve added two new smaller arenas to Mayhem in the QuickPlay playlist, along with a brand new game mode, Mayhem Falls. This weekend, we’ll be hosting a special event previewing our next game mode, Carnado Falls! Be sure to jump into the game to check it out before we add it into the Quickplay rotation later this month. Lets give you the lowdown on all of these updates and what you can expect from these new modes. Mayhem Falls At first glance, Mayhem Falls looks like a standard game of Mayhem taking place on a Gridfall map. Whilst that’s certainly what got the idea rolling, the final result has a bit more nuance to get to grips with. Players start off with a flat arena where the objective is to smash, wreck and KO your opponents to rise to the top of the leaderboard. As the game progresses, sections of the arena begin to fall away, creating precarious ledges for players to fall into due to poor driving or get knocked off by your opponents. If you happen to fall into the pit below, you’ll lose 30% of your score. We wanted to find a balance between punishing players who ultimately fell off the map, but still give ample room to climb back up the ranks if you suffer an early plunge. The higher up the board you climb, the more you’ll want to watch your step and make sure you keep knocking players off the map. This really raises the stakes and makes games feel more intense and action packed! Each decision you make, every slam, evade or wreck has more impact on the game than ever before. A single mistake could send you tumbling down the scoreboard, it’s all to play for until the end of the game! Mayhem Falls is available for all players in the Quickplay Playlist in online multiplayer*. Carnado Falls Carnado Falls takes things to the next level and challenges you to balance offensive and defensive play whilst the arena falls away around you. Whilst there are many similarities to our other Falls game mode, the scoring system for Carnado Falls is still based on classic Carnado: Smash, wreck, and KO your opponents to build gears inside your car. Drive your car into the Carnado to score and get onto the scoreboard. The only difference here is with the map falling away from beneath your wheels as the game goes on, you need to take care not to fall off the map and lose all your gears whilst causing even more wrecks and KOs in the shrinking arena. Keeping your vehicle alive long enough to build up plenty of gears is always a challenge in Carnado, but these changes really ramp up the pressure as you’re dodging between gaps in the arena, along with your opponents, in this fast-paced game mode. You’ve really got to strategise and pick your wrecks a little more carefully if you want to score highly in Carnado Falls, you can just as easily follow your opponents off the side with a poorly timed slam. Carnado Falls will be arriving for a special preview this weekend in Destruction AllStars. Available from Friday, October 1 at 8am PT / 4pm BST until Monday, October 4 at 3am PT / 11am BST. It will then be available in the Quick Play multiplayer playlist on Wednesday, October 6 at 8am PT/ 4pm BST. Carnado Falls requires PlayStation Plus*. We designed these modes to challenge players to think a little differently than they would when playing Mayhem or Carnado normally. With the new hazard of the ever-disappearing arena floor, the game modes certainly feel more intense and action packed as you’re trying to carve out some space on the remaining arena floor whilst also trying to find that perfect angle to knock your opponents into the pit below! If we were to pass on a few tips to help you get started in Carnado Falls this weekend, it would be to look for heavier or larger vehicles to give yourself a better chance at surviving any attempt to push you over the edge of the map. The same goes for Hero Vehicles, picking an AllStar with a weighty Hero Vehicle to call in can give you some real staying power in the arena. If all else fails, remember to eject from your vehicle before it falls off the map to try and save yourself from losing any points, or at least mitigating the losses somewhat. Bring an Umbrella Over the last few months, we’ve delivered some fantastic content updates to Destruction AllStars, along with bug fixes and gameplay improvements in direct response to community feedback. We’re really looking forward to hearing what players think of Carnado Falls. Based on the reception to Mayhem Falls, we’re hoping it’s going to be another hit with the community. *PlayStation Plus membership required for online multiplayer. PS Plus is subject to a recurring subscription fee taken automatically until cancellation. Full terms: play.st/PSPlusTerms http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/5ZnO_asmT3MView the full article
  19. Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin was announced at E3 in June, alongside an initial Trial Version that allowed us to get to grips with this new vision. Through a survey included, the team took feedback from those who played the Trial version, made some changes and have now launched a new Trial Version for the game, available now on PlayStation 5. A new trailer for the game was also revealed alongside the Trial Version 2 announcement, check it out below! Play Video The team has clearly been hard at work implementing many changes, here are a few things you can expect. A new area: Refrin Wetlands This new Trial Version opens up a whole new area to explore: the Refrin Wetlands. Far from the dark, gothic aesthetic of the Chaos Shrine, the Refrin Wetlands is a rainforest setting that will see you battle a diverse set of monsters through a lush, green land. Keep an eye out for some familiar weather changes you might remember from elsewhere. Improved combat Battling your way through the two areas in this new version remains a thrilling and challenging experience, there’s such fluidity to switching between job classes, finding enemies’ weaknesses or turning their strengths against them. The combat has been rebalanced in Trial Version 2 with ability adjustments and tweaks to the break gauge and MP recovery speeds, creating an even more exciting high-risk high-reward battle system. New difficulty settings Whether you’re new to Action RPGs or a stone-cold pro, the new Story, Action, and Hard difficulty settings will tailor the experience accordingly. Graphical updates There are also a ton of striking updates to the game’s graphics, and although this isn’t the final version, the visual improvements are plain to see in Trial Version 2. AI improvement Final Fantasy is all about teamwork, and you’ll also notice some vast improvements to your teammates’ AI, as well as the ability to issue them commands in combat through the new Resonance system. You can also team up with real friends and try it out in in-game multiplayer mode, which adds a whole new dynamic to battling through these vast dungeons. Even more jobs to master There are a total of 14 jobs to unlock and master in this new version, adding new depth to combat, while unlocking new strategies and styles to explore. Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin is set to be released on March 18, 2022 across PS5 and PS4 and is available to pre-order now. Those who pre-order the Digital Standard or Digital Deluxe Editions will receive 72 hour early access, the Braveheart weapon and Lustrous Shield and an original PS4 theme. Digital Early Purchasers will receive the Rebellion weapon. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/Pde8iUrwXokView the full article
  20. February 4 is approaching fast, so why don’t we explore The City a little bit more before jumping right in? The vast open world of Dying Light 2 Stay Human certainly has many secrets, and it’s time we revealed some of them. Today, let’s take a look at The City’s unique infrastructure, find out how we can bring it back to life, learn more about the music we’re going to hear there, and… meet somebody special. Though Villedor’s hayday is far behind us, the remnants of the old civilization are still there to remind you of what The City once looked like. Long non-functional subway stations, a TV tower, or an abandoned container ship are only examples of what you’re going to find. And though many of these elements have lost their original functions, people still find ways to use them to their advantage. As they want to restore at least some aspects of what used to be their normality, their creativity turns old into new, and inspires you to do the same. So while exploring The City, you may stumble upon a man who’s created a post-apocalyptic, analogue version of a dating app, or even an opera singer who’s performing her arias among the ruins. But Villedor’s beautiful past is also visible in other, much smaller things, such as pieces of old newspapers, records of The City’s Mayor’s speeches, posters, books, audio cassettes, and other relics you’ll find if you take your time to explore the world. And it’s worth looking, as these things are full of details on what life used to look like before the apocalypse, all sorts of stories, and human emotions. But enough about the past. You are going to change the future. The decisions you’ll make will play a crucial role in reviving the world of Dying Light 2 Stay Human. For example, you can look for the old electrical substations which have been offline for years now and fix them if you want to. This choice alone will have an impact on how the entire city’s going to look. Shops will turn the lights on, and the air vents and electric traps will work again, helping you in combat and navigation. And as you revive the civilization, you’ll also get to choose the faction you wish to help—the Peacekeepers or the Survivors. This will determine what people will build on the roofs and, in consequence, The City’s skyline. As the open world of Dying Light 2 Stay Human is really vast and complex, you may wonder how to find yourself in all of this. And, as usually, you’ll find all the answers in The City. During the day, you’ll meet characters who will help you understand the game’s world better. They’ll answer your questions, and give you some valuable tips. Then, when the night comes, you’ll be able to listen to the tales people tell as they’re waiting for dawn. Look for campfire stories, songs, and even street theatres on the roofs. And do pay attention to them! Since your deeds will surely become quite famous, you may find some of the stories oddly relatable… Besides all the characters you’ll meet, on your journey through The City, you’ll also have a companion which isn’t human –music. Like many other elements of the world, it, too, will react to your choices and actions, supporting both the gameplay and the narrative. Imagine you’re parkouring through the rooftops. Your soundtrack will intensify depending on how long you’ve been running and how many parkour moves you’ve performed. And if you somehow end up in a dangerous area, it will let you know. You’ll also notice that it changes depending on your combat choices. Whatever you’ll do, it’ll follow, pushing you to try new things and rewarding you for your efforts. And yes, factions, characters, and places have their own unique themes as well, so by choosing alliances, helping people, and following quests, you can build your own musical experience in The City. We’re coming to an end, and those who made it through this whole article will get something special now. We want to introduce you to Lawan, a tough, strong woman you’ll be able to befriend (or estrange, should you annoy her) in Dying Light 2 Stay Human. She’s really important and won’t be easy to forget, as she’s played by Hollywood star Rosario Dawson! She’ll show you both the joys and sorrows of The City, and as you get to know her better, you’ll realize she’s a very complex character with quite a backstory. Make sure you don’t get under her skin because… well. You don’t want to find out. Oh, and she can be brutally honest too, so don’t say we didn’t warn you. It’s worth it though. If you can’t wait to meet Rosario Dawson as Lawan and see all of this vast open world on February 4, pre-order Dying Light 2 Stay Human now, and make sure to follow our channels for more details about the game. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/clDJPzgYmMkView the full article
  21. Season Six marks a huge turning point in the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone storylines, as players will experience the epic conclusion of not one but two major events: the finale of Black Ops Cold War Zombies, and the groundbreaking near-destruction of Verdansk. And that’s just scratching the surface. Season Six of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone arrives on PlayStation on October 7. Here’s what you need to know: Alex Mason and new weapons lead the Season Six Battle Pass Gear up for the final showdown against Perseus with two new weapons, courtesy of the Season Six Battle Pass: the .410 Ironhide and the Grav. Purchase the Season Six Battle Pass to gain access to all 100 tiers of new personalization content, including Alex Mason, the original Black Ops protagonist, unlocked instantly at Tier 0. Earn three more weapons — the devastating Battle Axe, new LAPA SMG, and dual-wield Hammer and Sickle — by completing their-game challenges or by purchasing their corresponding Store Bundles throughout the season. Verdansk reshaped: Stadium and Downtown leveled, new POIs and Gulag The ultimate confrontation in Verdansk ’84 approaches, and the situation couldn’t be more drastic. Adler’s gone AWOL, sending his CIA colleagues into a panic, and seismic devices located near WWII-era bunkers have triggered a massive explosion in the Downtown area. Old Verdansk Stadium has come crashing down, offering greater maneuverability throughout the area as you weave in and out of the destruction. Southwest of the stadium, Downtown has also been fractured, its buildings toppled into the fissure. Expect less verticality, as well as new areas to explore in both locations. Explore the World War II–era bunkers around Verdansk for insight into the events to follow in Call of Duty: Vanguard. And when you’re eliminated, fight for a second chance in the new Gulag. Inspired by the original 1v1 maps in the Verdansk of 2019, this Gulag takes you deep into the Zordaya Prison Complex. Also expect new modes, an updated item pool, and balance changes arriving in Season Six. Enter Forsaken, the final chapter of Cold War Zombies Season Six brings the Black Ops Cold War Zombies experience to its epic conclusion. As an otherworldly force threatens to enter our dimension, the Requiem strike team heads straight to the heart of Omega Group’s secret test site in western Ukraine. What secrets could be contained within? Forsaken marks the final round-based map in Black Ops Cold War Zombies and the conclusion of the opening chapter of the Dark Aether story. Those who wish to help Requiem must put their lives at stake to save the world. New Perk, Wonder Weapon, and support weapons Become a living weapon with the upcoming PhD Slider Perk. Once consumed, your Operator will trigger an explosion when sliding into enemies, with the size and damage of the explosion increasing the farther you slide. Invest Aetherium Crystals to upgrade the Perk even further, granting boons like full immunity to self-inflicted explosive damage and the ability to trigger explosions when dropping down from great heights. Discover the new Chrysalax Wonder Weapon within Forsaken as part of its own quest, through completing Trials, or taking a chance at the Mystery Box. Take on new horrors lurking deep within the Dark Aether… and don’t forget to hit up the Crafting Table for the new ARC-XD and Hand Cannon and Support Weapons. New multiplayer maps Deprogram (6v6, Launch): Enter Adler’s broken mind in a wild map representing different fragments of his memories, stitched together for epic and surreal 6v6 combat. Use the Red Doors to travel between memories, setting up power positions and expert plays. Amerika (6v6, Launch): A secret military facility in the heart of the U.S.S.R., Amerika represents a Soviet facsimile of an American Main Street. Battle through a prop town featuring a pizza shop, theater, and Burger Town mock-up. Gluboko (2v2 and 3v3, Launch): Fight in small team operations in an underground vault beneath KGB headquarters. Expect fast-paced, rapid-fire engagements as fights spill out around the main briefing table. PlayStation Onslaught content Also available in Season Six, and exclusive to PlayStation, is a new Onslaught map – Deprogram – and the Onslaught Elite Limited Time mode. Onslaught Elite is the challenging standard game mode with one major difference: every surge will spawn an Elite enemy, tripling the danger from the usual survival experience. High value targets, such as Disciples and Tempests, are also included in these surges, making it a true test for the most Elite Operators. Survive 20 cumulative waves in this new mode, and you get a Legendary Assault Rifle Blueprint known as the “Rock Salt” to show off in your arsenal! Prepare for The Haunting Get all this and more, including new Prestige Levels, the new “Fuze” Warsaw Pact Operator, and for horror fans out there… prepare for The Haunting. Halloween is just around the corner! Stay tuned for more. Season Six launches October 7 Season Six of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone launches on PlayStation on October 7. 22. You only have 30 seconds to save the world. Sounds complicated? You’re absolutely right! But aside from that, it’s a lot of fun! We at Critical Reflex are happy to introduce you to Aeon Drive, a platformer in which you have to complete each level in just half a minute, coming to you on PS4 and PS5. If our protagonist, space ranger Jackelyne, can’t manage to reach her destination on time, then the picturesque city of New Barcelona will be doomed. Play Video The task is quite feasible — but only if you know what you are doing. So we’ve put together these few tips — so that when the game launches, you have a better chance of saving the world on your first try. Or on the second one. Or the third… 30 seconds left. Practice Each level in Aeon Drive is challenging to complete on the first try — most likely, 30 seconds won’t be enough to find the optimal route. But that’s the most exciting part of the game! Jackelyne is in a time loop, which means you can make new attempts for as long as you want. A new attempt starts as soon as Jackelyne dies or the timer expires. 25 seconds left. Teleport Jackelyne has a teleportation dagger — she can throw it in any direction and instantly move towards it. It’s a really useful piece of technology: thanks to it, you can instantly fly over a huge gap or reach the ceiling. This ability is essential: thanks to teleportation, you can overcome a laser trap, which would otherwise kill you, or get to an otherwise inaccessible place. In addition, by constantly teleporting, you can move much faster (duh!) — don’t forget that each run is limited by a 30 seconds timer. 20 seconds left. Control time Did we already mention that you need to complete the level in 30 seconds? Actually, it isn’t entirely true. Jackelyne can control time, so sometimes, she cheats a little by adding some extra time to this limit. But it’s not that simple: to get the precious extra seconds, you’ll need to collect time capsules scattered throughout the level, and this can take, well, time! In addition, these capsules need to be activated, and it is not so easy when you are constantly running somewhere, jumping, teleporting, and fighting enemies. To sum things up, in this race against time, you won’t be able to win unless you learn to control time itself! 15 seconds left. Be careful The streets of New Barcelona are patrolled by dangerous robots. Your first instinct would probably be to attack them. After all, Jackelyne is exceptionally effective at dealing with them, thanks to her power sword. But it isn’t always the best idea: these precious seconds spent in a battle could probably cost you the whole attempt. Sometimes it is wiser to bypass the robot or run away from it — this could save time and won’t expose yourself to additional risk. Jackelyne has only one hitpoint: if an enemy robot manages to strike at her, she will die immediately. It’s like in real life… With the exception that Jackelyne can start all over again as many times as she wants. But you should still act carefully — otherwise, you won’t be able to complete the level. 10 seconds left. Don’t limit yourself If you’ve failed several similar attempts in a row or if the path takes too long, then it may be a good idea to try a different route. It will definitely be more exciting and more effective than repeating the same actions over and over again. Each level in Aeon Drive can be completed by taking several routes, some less obvious than others. The more familiar you are with the game, the more options you will see, and the more effective routes you’ll be able to use. 5 seconds left. Experiment If you’ve managed to complete the level — congratulations! But that’s just the beginning: Aeon Drive is called “a speedrun platformer” for a reason. Are you sure that you’ve completed this level in the most efficient way? Maybe you could’ve cut some corners, perhaps you should’ve teleported instead of running in a few places, or maybe you’ve spent too much time getting over some obstacles? Anyway, there is always a reason to try once again! The game keeps track of your results with a leaderboard: you can always compare your performance to the results of other players. And maybe one day you will find yourself at the top — if you’d set such a goal. Or just call your friends and compete with them in the PVP mode to find out who is the fastest ranger in New Barcelona! Mission accomplished! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/S_2p_Hn9sPgView the full article
  23. Hello everyone, I am thrilled to be able to discuss the launch of Ghostrunner on PlayStation 5. This next-gen version of Ghostrunner allows players to experience all the mind-bending parkour action in its ultimate form, and this new enhanced version of Ghostrunner will provide some exciting upgrades. Before we jump into new features, I wanted to give some background on Ghostrunner and showcase some new gameplay. Play Video The story up to now Ghostrunner takes place in a cyberpunk post-apocalyptic mega-structure in the 22nd century after a cosmic burst of gamma rays wiped out almost all the human population. Artificially grown and augmented humans, known as Ghostrunners, were created to maintain order in this last city known as Dharma Tower. Over time a mysterious figure known as the Keymaster was able to take over Dharma Tower and destroy all the Ghostrunners except for you. It has been an incredible year for the Ghostrunner community with multiple updates, awesome DLC, and major accolades including a 2020 Action Game of the Year nomination from IGN. In addition to the main campaign, we have loaded Ghostrunner with additional modes that will be available in the PS5 version. These modes include the new Rogue-like version of Ghostrunner called Wave Mode, Kill Run Mode, Photo Mode, Assist mode, and Hardcore mode if you want to put your cyber ninja skills to the test. This brings us to the new PS5 version of Ghostrunner Ghostrunner leaps onto PS5 with several enhancements that help unlock its true potential. You will find improved image quality and beautiful detail with ray tracing fidelity mode in the PS5 version of Ghostrunner. With PS5 you can enjoy Ghostrunner in 4K up to 60FPS with ray tracing fidelity mode and in 1080p with 4K backbuffer up to 120 FPS. The visual upgrades bring Dharma Tower to life like never before. Feel the intense hack-n-slash action with the new haptic feedback for the DualSense wireless controller. With the DualSense controller, each slash through an enemy delivers targeted vibrations designed to immerse you in the experience. Ghostrunner features an incredible Daniel Deluxe soundtrack that when paired with the DualSense wireless controller and 3D audio will keep you coming back for more. With 3D audio we wanted to give players a feeling of interacting with a living environment that changes through the game. A feeling stretching from vast areas you can explore to small details of city life. The movement of giant cranes in industrial areas, whispers of people talking from their houses, and the Dharma city’s rumble are some of the sounds of the Tower. Ghostrunner is available on PS5 starting today, September 30. 25. Hi, my name is Peter Adamondy, chief designer at Triple Hill Interactive and I am excited to share some exciting news about our new one-hit-kill fighting game Die by the Blade. Play Video Firstly, I am thrilled to officially announce that Die by the Blade will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2022. This has only been possible with the support of our new worldwide publishing partner, Kwalee, who we are excited to be working with and look forward to utilising their publishing knowledge and experience to bring our game to PlayStation consoles across the world. It has been a rollercoaster ride over the past year and as a development studio we have faced many challenges. We have navigated our way through lockdowns, remote working as well as recruiting new talent to join our team. As we return to a more “normal” way of working, we have been able to push forward with the development of our exciting new game and restart some of the hugely important content updates, like implementing new art assets and finishing motion capture sessions in the studio. Creating a strategic fighter with a brutal, calculated touch We all loved playing classic PlayStation titles like Bushido Blade and Way of the Samurai where we were immersed in what felt like real combat situations and how we had to quickly plan and adapt strategies to defeat the opponents. It wasn’t about mashing the buttons on the gamepad, it was about performing perfectly timed strikes to disable and win the battle. It felt honourable and respectful but also took a great deal of skill and patience and this is what we loved the most. Using this as our inspiration we have created a 1v1 sword fighting game set in a gritty “Samurai Punk” world where a modern cyberpunk aesthetic merges with traditional Japanese-inspired themes. Our dynamic one-hit-kill combat system brings to life tense and exciting combat where every ounce of the players skill, strategy and patience will be needed to best their opponent. Your choice of weapon will be vitally important in your success or failure as a warrior of the sword, so we have worked closely with martial arts experts to faithfully recreate an arsenal of traditional swords and fighting moves to master in the game and by using motion capture sessions we can bring a real sense of realism to each fight. Another important part of Die by the Blade I wanted to share with you are the playable characters. The team has created a roster of seven playable characters, all with their unique backstories, and bring their own unique personalities to the gameplay. The team worked hard to add a wide range of customisation options so players can tailor their visual style before heading into one of the thrilling game modes. The blend of Samurai Punk meets traditional Japanese can create some stunning character visuals. Each weapon also defines the moveset of the roster of customisable characters, from the fine precision of the Katana to the quick maneuverability of the Wakizashi, we want each weapon to feel unique to the player and add another depth to the strategic gameplay. Verify your age to view this content. Verify your age to view this content. Speaking of game modes, I have lots to talk about here, but I don’t want to give too much away too soon! So, all I will say is that Die by the Blade will offer 1v1 online multiplayer, a story-driven single-player campaign, crossplay support, as well as tournaments and additional ranked online modes. I will share more on these as the development progresses, but there will be some truly exciting game modes to get stuck into. I am excited to see all the hard work of the team coming to life on the screen and I hope I have given you a little taster of what you can expect when Die by the Blade releases for PS4 and PS5 in 2022. Until then, stay safe and may your swords stay sharp, warriors! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/PSBlog/~4/ZFRGZsDRlJwView the full article
