Set to launch in 2026 on PlayStation 5, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a 4v4 team-based fighting game brought to life through a collaboration between Arc System Works — the studio behind the Guilty Gear series and Dragon Ball Fighter Z — PlayStation Studios, and Marvel Games. Featuring unique anime-inspired visuals, the game brings high speed, explosive combat packed with nonstop intensity. Every match promises dramatic, unpredictable showdowns that keep the action going. At August’s Evolution Championship Series (EVO) and throughout the closed beta test, players were able to assemble a team of four out of six iconic characters: Captain America, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, Storm, and Doctor Doom. At Tokyo Game Show 2025, happening from Thursday, September 25 to Sunday, September 28, Spider-Man and Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes) will join the roster, expanding the playable character count to eight. Spider-Man A fast, agile fighter armed with versatile web attacks Spider-Man’s key strength is his versatile offense built around his signature move, Web Zip. This technique lets him fire webs from the ground or air in multiple directions, then sling himself at high speed along a chosen path. He can also use Web Zip to launch upward diagonally for aerial strikes or dive down from above for sudden ambushes. His unpredictable moves will keep opponents constantly on edge. Web Zip unlocks a variety of follow-up moves When Spider-Man’s Web Zip connects with an opponent, you can follow up with powerful attacks like Zip Kick, a swift follow-up strike, or Web Slam that crushes opponents with his web. When blocked, or if Web Slam is chained too often, the move transitions into a Web Snare that drags opponents closer. Spider-Man can also shoot his web upward to hang in mid-air, baiting foes into performing anti-air attacks. Combining Web Zip with its various follow-up attacks keeps the pressure high and fuels Spider-Man’s chaotic high-paced offense. Mix melee and projectiles for maximum pressure Spider-Man comes equipped with a versatile toolkit, including those similar to special moves in traditional fighting games. His projectile attack, Web Shot, fires a blob of web that can also be used midair. You can switch between medium and heavy to shoot multiple webs in succession. It’s effective for zoning but risky if opponents anticipate it and jump in, due to its long animation. His rush skill, Arachnid Assault, shifts into a somersault kick when executed in the air. When used airborne, you have i-frames against other aerial attacks, making it valuable not only as a combo finisher but also as an anti-air move. Versatile attacks that enhance both attack and defense Web Bomb plants a lingering explosive. Although it can be destroyed by enemy attacks, it’s useful for disrupting movement. His counter skill, Spidey-Sense, shifts Spider-Man into a special stance that lets him evade attacks and throws while automatically striking back. It proves handy for deflecting attacks right as you’re recovering from a knockdown or interrupting enemy combos. Spider-Man also has a unique ability: crouch-walking. While I didn’t have a chance to try it, his extremely low stance may help him slip under certain projectiles while advancing. The combination of his core movesets, including projectiles, rush moves, and anti-airs, alongside his arsenal of quirky skills like Web Zip, makes Spider-Man extremely versatile and dynamic. Ghost Rider A tactical fighter equipped with a unique gauge Ghost Rider wields a unique gauge called the Vengeance Gauge, designed to resemble a car or motorcycle tachometer. Managing this gauge is integral to his gameplay. It builds as he uses his skills, boosting both hit count and damage the higher the meter climbs. However, when the gauge maxes out, Ghost Rider collapses to his knees and suffers a long recovery, forcing players to carefully manage the meter so it doesn’t overload. Powerful abilities that evolve based on the Vengeance Gauge Hellfire unleashes flames and has a short recovery, which makes it tough for enemies to counter when blocking, and is perfect for applying pressure or setting up a combo. Penance Driver is a powerful command throw great for breaking defenses, and both light and heavy versions allow him to lunge forward to grab foes from mid-range. Judgment Cradle, his ranged chain attack, can branch into a feint, low, or overhead, giving him another way to crack defenses. Rounding out his arsenal is Hell Scorcher, which sets the ground ablaze to create an area of lingering flames that deals continuous damage. The key is to build the Vengeance Gauge without losing control To reduce the Vengeance Gauge, players must rely on unique moves, powerful supers, ultimate skills, or even tagging in a teammate. One such move, Revelator Chain, spins Ghost Rider’s chain in a flurry of strikes that drain the gauge with each hit. Holding down the button extends the move, allowing him to continuously attack while lowering his gauge. Another option is Hell Throttle, which engulfs Ghost Rider in flames to damage nearby foes. While this move cuts down the gauge significantly, it leaves him wide open, so timing is key. Maintaining a high but not maxed-out Vengeance Gauge empowers Ghost Rider’s skills, giving him an advantage. Combos enhanced by these boosted abilities can shave off massive chunks of an opponent’s health bar, which feels immensely rewarding. However, in the heat of battle, it’s easy to let the gauge max out, which will leave you completely vulnerable. Mastering Ghost Rider clearly requires practice and precision. Ghost Rider demands tactical gameplay and constant gauge management, but his over-the-top style with whipping chains and spewing flames makes him a thrill to both play and watch. He is a challenging but highly rewarding character, so don’t be afraid to give him a shot. Dive into an all-new Marvel Universe, filled with iconic Marvel heroes and villains, fan-favorite stages, and an intuitive gameplay system with MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls! View the full article

The PlayStation booth at Tokyo Game Show 2025 is packed with memorable photo ops and hands-on gameplay with some of the most anticipated PS5 titles. In this PS Blog post, we take you inside the booth and share our gameplay impressions of Dragon Quest I & II, Onimusha Way of the Sword, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, Fishbowl, and Meteora. Let’s dive into the lineup! Play Video Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake | Publisher: Square Enix | Out: Oct 30 In the Tokyo Game Show 2025 demo of Dragon Quest I, players chase down the Robbin’ ‘Ood Thieves after they stole a key, tracking them into a mountain cave. Unlike the original’s one-on-one encounters, the remake pits you solo against groups of enemies. Armed with the Thorn Whip and spells like Sizz, you can strike entire hordes at once, though being outnumbered keeps the battles intense. The showdown with the Robbin’ ‘Ood Thieves was especially challenging, but the game helps balance the odds by highlighting each enemy’s weaknesses. By exploiting those vulnerabilities and keeping up with constant healing, I was able to secure victory. In the Dragon Quest II demo, the objective was to defend a mermaid’s dwelling from Hargon’s underlings by diving into the depths of the sea. This time, the party consisted of four members, including Princess of Cannock who is joining the lineup for the first time. Swift and capable in battle, she commands spells like Kacrack and Frizzle, along with abilities such as Thin Air and Hypnowhip. However, even when given direct orders, she occasionally acts on her own, adding an element of unpredictability. Playful, spirited, and expressive, she brings vitality into both the combat and the narrative. In Dragon Quest II, a newly added underwater realm expands the world of adventure. Sunlight filters through the depths, and vibrant corals are illustrated with striking detail, highlighting the beauty of HD-2D visuals. Players can freely navigate the ocean by ship, and when using Lorelei’s Harp, the vessel becomes enveloped by bubbles and descends beneath the surface, enabling seamless travel both above and below the sea. Distinct monsters inhabit each layer of the ocean, including entirely new creatures not seen in the original. Play Video Onimusha Way of the Sword | Publisher: Capcom | Out: 2026 At the PlayStation booth, I got to experience an adventure that was set across a section of the Kiyomizu-dera Temple. One of the game’s defining features is its dual-gauge system shared by the protagonist Miyamoto Musashi and his Genma adversaries: a yellow Health Gauge and a red Stamina Gauge. Landing attacks or skillfully countering enemy strikes drains their Stamina, and once it empties, enemies lose their balance and become exposed to Musashi’s devastating Break Issen strike. Conversely, if Musashi’s own Stamina Gauge runs dry, he is left off-guard and extremely vulnerable. This constant push and pull creates thrilling, tension-filled exchanges. While enemy attacks can be blocked with a single button, the game also introduces two advanced defensive maneuvers: Parry and Deflect. A Parry is performed by timing a guard just right, staggering the enemy and creating an opening for a counterattack. Its timing feels fairly generous, making it one of the easier techniques to execute. Deflect, in contrast, requires pressing an extra button while guarding. The margin for success is tighter, but when timed correctly, Musashi can fend off enemy strikes and greatly diminish their Stamina Gauge. Meanwhile, the series’ signature counter move, Issen, requires timing an attack to the exact moment of an enemy strike. It is the hardest technique to master but landing it brings an unmatched sense of exhilaration. Chaining Parries and Deflects to handle multiple foes is extremely satisfying. The tense, split-second encounters that unfold from waiting for the perfect opening or battling against many adversaries capture the spirit of dramatic swordplay of classic samurai dramas. The boss fight against Sasaki Ganryu, set on the iconic wooden stage of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, was a deadly duel. Ganryu unleashed brutal, unpredictable attacks, such as axe kicks and spinning slashes. To survive, I had to parry his relentless onslaught while striking back to chip away at his Stamina Gauge. The battle forced me to leverage every skill I had mastered up to that point. Play Video The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin | Publisher: Netmarble | Out: Jan 28, 2026 This open-world action RPG is set in the world of Nakaba Suzuki’s manga and anime, The Seven Deadly Sins. At the PlayStation booth, both Story Mode and Open World Mode were available to try out. Story Mode follows an investigation led by Tristan and Tioreh, taking them to Lake Penace — the site of a legendary battle years earlier between Estarossa of the Demon King’s elite Ten Commandments, and Escanor of the Holy Knights, the Seven Deadly Sins. Being able to visit this iconic battlefield is a treat for longtime fans. The gameplay also offers plenty of variety; plunging into an underwater cavern triggers a 3D shooting sequence, and soon after you’ll face block-based puzzles. You can continue exploring underwater, where you’ll encounter colossal enemies. The discovery of a pendant within the cave, along with the game’s original storyline, adds an extra layer of mystery and intrigue. In Open World Mode, players are free to explore a vast map that spans far beyond the city surrounding Liones Castle, reaching grasslands, forests, coastlines, and islands. Each area is intricately detailed, fueling the urge to venture further and uncover new sights. Iconic locations from the series, including the Fairy King’s Forest and the shores of Lake Penace, also appear on the map. Players can scale tall walls with consecutive jumps and soar from great heights using a glider. Interacting with townsfolk unlocks area quests, and due to the dynamic day-night cycle, certain quests can only be completed after nightfall. In Open World Mode battles, players can seamlessly swap between characters. Up to four characters can be assigned to the directional buttons, and once the switch gauge fills up, they can be rotated in and out mid-combat. Each fighter brings a distinct style: Tioreh can fly and fight in midair, Tristan excels with swift, agile strikes, while Slader relies on slower heavy-hitting attacks. Since every character handles differently, part of the fun comes from experimenting and discovering which character best suits your playstyle. Fishbowl | Developer: imissmyfriends.studio, Wholesome Games Presents Fishbowl is planned for release on PS5. Developed by a two-person, India-based team, imissmyfriends.studio, Fishbowl tells a coming-of-age story that unfolds over the course of a month. Its pastel-hued pixel art immediately catches the eye, with Alo’s home rendered in vibrant, intricate detail that exudes warmth and charm. In sharp contrast, her dreams and inner worlds are portrayed in monochrome, the absence of color emphasizing her solitude and melancholy. The game begins with Alo returning home in a rickshaw on a rainy day after work. It has been a week since she started her new job and living alone, and her somber mood reflects the weight of loss — she had lost her beloved grandmother, Jaja, just a month earlier. When Alo steps inside, she discovers that her mother has sent over her grandmother’s belongings. At this point, a sliding puzzle begins. Once solved, players can read Alo’s heartfelt thoughts about each item, revealing the deep bond she shared with her grandmother. The final keepsake is a toy goldfish in a glass bowl; an object that seems to hold the key to the story. At home, Alo also has work to do: video editing. She works for a popular influencer and carries out her assignments from her own space. The editing process is presented as a light rhythm-based mini-game. When Alo completes video edits or spends time chatting with friends, a gauge at the top of the screen gradually fills up. Though never explicitly explained, the gauge appears to reflect her emotional well-being. Even small routines, such as cooking a meal or taking a shower, cause the gauge to increase slightly, hinting that simple acts of mindfulness play a role in nurturing the heart. Yet questions remain: how will Alo come to terms with the loss of her beloved grandmother? How will she adjust to the challenges of a new job? And how will she cope with the isolation of remote work? While the demo only offered a glimpse into a single day of her life, it was enough to leave me curious about how her emotional journey will unfold. Meteora | Publisher: Big Boot Games Meteora is set to release on PS5 in January 2026. Developed by Mumbai-based studio Big Boot Games, Meteora is a battle racing game set in outer space. The project was born from Sony Interactive Entertainment’s India Hero Project; an initiative aimed at discovering and nurturing game development talent in India. The game will also support PlayStation VR2. Players take control of a meteor hurtling through space, dodging asteroid clusters, smashing rival meteors, and racing toward a goal portal. The controls are simple: adjust your direction by rotating with the L2/R2 buttons and use the left stick for quick evasive maneuvers. Movement isn’t completely free in open space, though — it’s better visualized as racing along an invisible, pipe-like track. Stage 1, “Race,” challenges players to reach the portal in the fastest time possible. Though there are only a few asteroid obstacles and the rules seem simple, finishing within the time limit requires frequent boosting. To maintain speed, players must strategically gather stars and Speed Boost power-ups. The catch is that the item hitbox is surprisingly unforgiving, leading to frequent misses even when it feels like you’re perfectly aligned. Success depends on precise line-taking and knowing when to boost forward versus when to ease off to secure items. The game embraces principles of classic racing games, and beneath the dazzling spectacle of meteors streaking through a vibrant cosmos, the core gameplay is pure racing. Once I realized this, I not only enjoyed the challenge of shaving seconds off my time, but also the exhilarating sensation of blazing through space. Stage 2, “Elimination”, introduces rival meteors that players can destroy by ramming into them. To clear the stage, you must take down a set number before reaching the portal. The mechanics are more complex than in Stage 1, but each successful takedown is very satisfying. Stage 3, “Time Attack”, returns to the race-against-the-clock format while adding rival meteors into the mix. This stage also features explosive asteroid clusters, making the course significantly more challenging. Across every stage, the upbeat, fast-paced soundtrack paired with punchy sound effects enhances the sense of immersion. You’ll be hooked once the controls become second nature. View the full article

In Possessor(s), you’ll play as Luca, a girl trapped in the ruins of her city in the aftermath of an attack by extra-dimensional demons. Luca doesn’t exactly have a lot of experience fighting anyone… she used to be a pretty regular kid! But Sanzu City is full of demons who need killing, and Luca doesn’t exactly have any weapons lying around to kill them with. Play Video To defend herself and Rhem, her allied demon, Luca will have to scrounge for makeshift weapons all over Sanzu. Rhem will give her the power to turn some of the simple household items she finds into much-more-deadly ones. Wield what you have Luca has two kinds of attacks: Weapons, which she can use at any time to batter her enemies, and Special Weapons, which spend Charges. Luca can earn additional Charges of her Specials by making successful hits with her regular Weapon. When Luca wakes up in the ruins of Sanzu, the only Weapon she can find is a pair of kitchen knives. But soon, she’ll start collecting some even stranger items. In the Campus, Luca can get her hands on an Electric Guitar. She can charge it up and perform a massive ground smash, sending a shockwave at her enemies. The Guitar is a slow but powerful weapon. When you’re wielding it, you’ll have to choose your timing well! In the Sunken City housing development, Luca might find the Hockey Stick. This weapon is great for performing quick, deadly sweeps, and hitting enemies who are standing further away. Its attacks can also be chained into aerial combos against flying or juggled enemies. Luca can pair either of these Weapons with up to three Special Weapons by assigning them to different directional inputs. This allows you to build your own combos. For example, Luca’s Computer Mouse Special is great for knocking enemies into the air, where they can be juggled by the Hockey Stick’s aerial combo. The Cell Phone special shocks enemies around the player, which may stun them long enough for her to smash them with her Guitar. One of Luca’s strange Specials is a pair of cool Sunglasses. Activating them right before an enemy strikes you allows you to do a massive counterattack! My favorite Special, however, is her Katana. It’s the only one of her Weapons which is genuinely a weapon – Luca finds it in the Mall! It works as a gap-closer, helping Luca zoom close to her enemies and damage them with a powerful swipe. Search the city To find these weapons, Luca will have to search every inch of Sanzu City. The city is overgrown and destroyed, and a lot of the places that used to be familiar to her now feel strange and dangerous. The SanZooQuarium, a local aquarium she used to visit on field trips, is now full of possessed sea creatures… and demonic penguins with something suspicious to sell you. She’ll have to fight her way past shattered fishtanks to find the last human hiding there. What kind of deal did he strike with these demons to keep himself alive? Luca will have to find him and get some answers! Luca can also explore her old high school Campus. The classrooms and libraries are now filled with possessed books, filing cabinets, vases, and lamps. There’s a human hiding here, too – Luca’s old teacher, Professor Foss. He wants to help her… but he seems unwell, and he might be hiding a secret in the basement of the school. Luca will have to get some answers from him, too! Survive with what you have Luca and Rhem are all on their own in Sanzu. But with Rhem’s powers, and Luca’s tenacity, they’ll be able to hold back an army of demons with a pile of scrounged items. To see how she does it, you’ll have to check out Possessor(s) at release for PlayStation 5 on November 11! View the full article

Where Winds Meet is an ambitious free to play open-world ARPG that seeks not just to emulate but to embody the very soul of Wuxia. Wuxia is a captivating genre typically found in fiction and cinema, featuring warriors from ancient China performing superhuman martial arts feats, think Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon or House of Flying Daggers. The world of Wuxia is often mistakenly conflated with Kung Fu. But where traditional Kung Fu emphasizes the realistic, disciplined mastery of martial arts, Wuxia is a seamless blend of martial prowess, eastern philosophical depth, and aesthetic elegance. In this world, warriors glide across rooftops, inner energy defies gravity, and even everyday objects can become instruments of profound beauty and deadly precision. Play Video Central to this mission is its combat system, where weaponry is far more than a tool for violence – it is a demonstration of character, philosophy, and art. Weapons in Where Winds Meet are deeply integrated into the core gameplay of its Wuxia open world. Players can equip two weapons simultaneously and easily switch between them during combat. Weapons are a crucial component that determines the player’s fighting style; players can learn different weapons based on their interests and flexibly replace or match them. The combination of weapons with various Martial Arts and Internal Arts forms the core element of character build in the game. Where Winds Meet features a wide arsenal of weapons: Spear, Sword, Dual Blades, Rope Dart, the enigmatic Mo blade, and more, each meticulously crafted with distinct weight, speed, and feel. Yet among these, one stands out as an embodiment of Wuxia’s spirit – a weapon that should be impractical, yet in this world becomes poetry in lethal motion – the umbrella. The Umbrella: where poetry meets combat In reality, an umbrella is merely a shelter in the rain, but in the Wuxia world of Where Winds Meet, it becomes a vessel for romance and lethality. It’s soft yet sharp, defensive yet aggressive. It’s light as a feather but can strike like a storm. When it opens, it can shield you. When it closes, it becomes a blade. We drew inspiration from classics – like the umbrella vs. pole blade fight in Zhang Yimou’s movie, “Shadow”- but we also wanted to add our own flavor. A key priority for us was ensuring that even the most fantastical movements feel believable and impactful. To achieve this, we partnered with Action Director Wei Tung, a multi-award winner (Hong Kong Film Awards, Golden Horse Awards) whose legendary filmography includes Bruce Lee’s Fist of Fury, Kung Fu Killer, As Tears Go By, and Swordsman II. Behind the scenes motion capture Rather than relying solely on digital animation, Mr. Tung insisted on real martial artists performing every move. All actions, including solo techniques, were captured with at least two stunt actors interacting – this preserved the sense of impact, reaction, and spatial awareness. We employed full-body simultaneous motion capture, requiring performers to execute every movement with perfect coordination. The result is a combat system that feels visceral, intentional, and cinematically expressive, whether you’re wielding a sword, a spear, or an umbrella. Ranged Assault – delicate form, overwhelming force The Floating State – a dance above the battlefield Heavy Blow- returning strike with weight and impact Solo Combat – a portable stronghold Partnered Combat – the umbrella as a fighting companion A living world: the seasonal journey ahead We believe that a Wuxia world should continually grow and unfold. That’s why Where Winds Meet will be structured around a seasonal update model, with each season lasting approximately three months and introducing new map areas, gameplay and narrative to explore. Our launching season will include two expansive regions – Qinghe and Kaifeng – each with its own story arc, allowing players to delve deeper into the game’s storyline and unravel their character’s past. The seasonal updates will differ in focus. Some may advance the main plot through new regions and characters, others may introduce new gameplay and time-limited in-game activities, or enhance social features and character progression. Most importantly, we will continuously optimize and adjust the gaming experience based on feedback from the player community. It’s our way of building this world with our players, not just for them. A shared wuxia dream for all For us, Where Winds Meet is more than a game – it’s an invitation to experience Wuxia as we’ve always imagined it. We aim to take the romanticism, the philosophy, and the grounded-ness of Wuxia and weave them into a living, breathing, and endlessly evolving world. We can’t wait for you to enter this world with us! Where Winds Meet will be free to play and will launch globally on November 14, 2025. The game is now available to wishlist on PlayStation Store. An exclusive pre-order bundle for PS5 is also available, including an outfit pack, a PS5-exclusive namecard background and more: View the full article

Nioh 3, the latest entry in Koei Tecmo Games’ dark samurai action RPG series from Team Ninja, is set to launch on PlayStation 5. I had the chance to go hands-on with the game at Tokyo Game Show 2025. I explored the newly revealed snowfield area and confronted the daunting yokai incarnation of Takeda Shingen. Here’s how it went. Journey through open fields and engage in thrilling battles One of Nioh 3’s defining new features is its open field, which I was able to experience firsthand during one of the demo’s main missions. The size was smaller in scale due to it being a demo, but the snowfield area was still packed with discovery. I began by unlocking a shrine to serve as my central hub, and from there, I uncovered treasure chests containing equipment, dark walls that unlocked new Guardian Spirit abilities when destroyed, lost Kodama spirits, and enemy outposts that remain sealed until the Dark Realm is cleared. The new jump action further opened up the battlefield, allowing me to scale rocky cliffs and leap across floating stone islands. This addition of vertical exploration greatly broadens an area’s possibilities. Master the arts of two new fighting styles: Samurai and Ninja Another highlight of Nioh 3 is the ability to master two different fighting styles: Samurai and Ninja. A simple press of the R2 button swaps between the two, altering stats, weapons, skill sets, and even visuals — effectively giving your character two distinct builds in combat. The Samurai style closely mirrors the classic Nioh experience. It lets you wield weapons such as katanas, dual swords, odachi, and spears to deliver devastating blows. Pressing R1 with precision after an attack triggers the Ki Pulse, which restores a portion of your spent stamina (Ki) and dispels the Dark Realm created by yokai that otherwise disrupts Ki recovery. A new mechanic called Arts Proficiency introduces a gauge that fills up as you attack and guard. Once maxed out, you can unleash a powerful strike or martial skill to boost its strength. Attacks enhanced by Arts Proficiency don’t consume Ki, making them particularly useful for managing stamina. The Samurai’s defensive prowess stands out with its guard mechanic. By guarding right before an enemy’s attack lands, you trigger a Deflect that not only restores Ki but also charges the Arts gauge and Ninjutsu gauge. The Ki recovery effect is especially powerful. Nailing the timing on a perfect guard is challenging, but the payoff is deeply rewarding and satisfying. In contrast, the Ninja style excels with agile movement and efficient Ki consumption. Its arsenal includes tonfa, kusarigama, tekko claws, and reverse-grip dual swords, all focused on chaining rapid combos. Attacks from behind deal extra damage, empowering players to master a playstyle built on agility, flanking, and relentless chains of attacks. Two signature mechanics set the Ninja apart: Evade and Mist. Evade is essentially a perfect dodge that restores Ki and boosts the Ninjutsu and Arts gauges. Mist summons a phantom clone when you press R1 at the right moment after an attack, drawing enemy focus to the clone and opening opportunities to strike from behind. Mist’s cunning move is a perfect showcase of ninja combat. Ninjutsu adds another layer to the Ninja style and comes in many forms. Some ninjutsu deliver immense power, while others provide precise homing capabilities, allowing players to maintain an edge from a distance. Unlike the previous games, where ninjutsu had limited uses, skills can be activated repeatedly in Nioh 3 as long as the Ninjutsu gauge is charged. Use Style Shift to counter deadly enemy moves Switching between Samurai and Ninja styles with the R2 button is called Style Shift. Using Style Shift in combat unlocks a wide range of tactical options. Style Shift can also interrupt critical enemy attacks. When an enemy glows red, it signals an incoming unblockable attack. Executing a perfectly timed Style Shift at that moment triggers a Burst Break, turning imminent danger into a powerful counterattack. This mechanic is essential for handling tough bosses, and it stands out as one of the core combat systems in Nioh 3. Facing the great tiger yokai, Takeda Shingen Next, I faced a high-stakes battle against Takeda Shingen, who had transformed into a colossal tiger demon. He unleashed rapid four-armed claw combos that transitioned into devastating, wide-area slam attacks. Shingen also summoned the Dark Realm, twisting the battlefield into a chilling underworld where a field of red spider lilies quickly blossomed and withered, plunging the area into darkness. Within this realm, his assault grew even more vicious, mixing aerial feints, plunging strikes, and massive fireball projectiles. Even with the full time limit, I failed to bring Shingen down. I was slashed, crushed, burned, and defeated more times than I could count. There were times I came close, only to falter under the immense pressure. Yet this very struggle is what makes Nioh so rewarding and fun to play. Nioh 3 launches February 6, 2026 for PS5. Hey, Bub. We know it’s been a minute, so let’s cut to the chase: Marvel’s Wolverine is set to launch on PlayStation 5 consoles in Fall 2026, and we have a brand-new trailer just for you. Play Video Additionally, we’re proud to include Descriptive Audio for the trailer. This is available in the video settings under Audio track. Not only do we have a new trailer, but we’re also revealing the game’s cover art! Our cover bridges bold simplicity with the expressive energy of comics to further accentuate Wolverine’s rugged, complex personality. View and download image Download the image close Close Download this image Our Marvel’s Wolverine cover art, designed in collaboration with renowned comic artist Jock. He’s the best at what he does… Bold, resilient, and volatile, Wolverine is a character that all of us at Insomniac are thrilled to explore in collaboration with our friends at Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment. Like our Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise, we’re once again combining our super powers to deliver an original take on a beloved character based on Marvel Comics. Our Wolverine, AKA Logan, is played by actor Liam McIntyre who taps into the rage, pain, and nuances of this iconic character. In this story, he is on the hunt to uncover the secrets of a dark past that keeps eluding him. Unfortunately, in this world, he’ll have to dig his claws deep to pull any shred of information that may lead to answers. Often, that means shredding into a relentless onslaught of enemies who aim to stop him by any means necessary. Fueled by unflinching resilience (and a rapid healing factor), Wolverine won’t go down easy if it means keeping the mission on task. …but what he does best isn’t very nice Logan is the quintessential reluctant hero – haunted by the consequences of unleashing the beast within. Once the claws come out, Wolverine doesn’t hold back: as a living weapon forged against his will, he’ll use razor-sharp adamantium to dispatch enemies and untamed berserker rage to build momentum on the battlefield. He’ll leave an impression on his foes with fast, fluid, and rapid attacks and techniques that’ll dismember or break anyone who gets in his way. Wolverine might be distant, but he isn’t afraid to get up-close and personal when it counts. A dark past threatens to consume him Independence is often the way of Wolverine, although keen-eyed fans may have spotted some of the familiar faces he’ll encounter on his journey, like the elusive Mystique or the brutish Omega Red. Some will fight alongside Logan against all odds and others will unleash all-out attacks on our hero, such as the Reavers, one of our enemy factions, who will keep our hero’s instincts on edge. Speaking of which, our trailer concludes with a prototype of an iconic-yet-menacing purple robot. In this global thriller, Wolverine’s search for answers will send him on perilous excursions to exotic locales, including the island nation of Madripoor, the frosted wilderness of Canada, and the narrow city streets of Tokyo – all potential battlegrounds for fierce, bloody, destructive action. We’re breaking new ground with Wolverine, yes, but our penchant for telling stories about heroes overcoming colossal odds is as strong as ever. Your fate woven inextricably to the providence of cursed empires, fallen gods, and steadfast allies. As you progress through the campaign you will be sent across time – in an attempt to correct history’s wrongs. You will encounter challenges that can only be overcome by using the Epoch to travel forwards and backwards in time – revisiting places as they were or discovering places as they will be. You can jump between eras from your world map – or return to The End of Time; the last bastion of the fight against the Void, and the primary player hub for end-game content. From The End Of Time, you can engage in Monoliths – Last Epoch’s end-game system. Monoliths transport you to a doomed timeline, one in which your decisions will impact the enemies you fight, the loot you find, and histories you seek to rewrite. There are 5 classes, each with 3 highly customizable masteries for you to command as you wage your battle against the Void. Across all 15 class options, there are more than 120 unique skills – each with its own transformative skill tree. Turn your singular thrown hammer into a vortex of bludgeoning. Imbue your heart-seeking arrow with frost or flame. Mutate your loyal wolf companion into a pack of bloodthirsty hunters. The choice is yours, and you’ll want to explore many of them, as Eterra is packed with build-defining Unique and Legendary loot, that has power to redefine your chosen path. Last Epoch’s beloved crafting system features a deep and deterministic upgrade mechanic, allowing you to tailor each item to your build and maximize your power. Power you’ll need, as you lose yourself in our infinitely replayable End-Game content or attempt to conquer the most demanding pinnacle bosses. This isn’t just about bigger numbers either – it’s about finding new skill synergies, exploiting an enemy’s weakness, or making the most out of your skill tree selections. It will take mastery of Last Epoch’s deep but accessible systems and gameplay to conquer the challenges Eterra has to offer. And when Last Epoch: Orobyss launches, it will bring with it our most ambitious content plans. We don’t want to spoil anything just yet, but expect new threats to vanquish, new ways to push your builds further, and more of that sweet, sweet loot. PlayStation players will be joining the offensive, either alone or with the support of allies, against the Void at a critical juncture, and as the very fate of Eterra hangs in the balance. All of Last Epoch’s content can be played with up to 4 players in online co-op, even if there is a level difference between players. Optionally, players who enjoy item trading can join the Merchants’ Guild, allowing them to buy and sell their best items for in-game gold. Solo players, or players who choose not to partake in trade, may look to join the Circle of Fortune to fulfill prophecies and improve their chances of finding rare and powerful loot. We are excited to bring the mystique and danger of Last Epoch: Orobyss to PlayStation 5. From day one of our journey, Eleventh Hour Games has taken a community-first approach to development, allowing our community’s passion and feedback to influence our approach to the Action-RPG genre. We look forward to adding the PlayStation community to that development process. You can wishlist Last Epoch: Orobyss on PlayStation Store today. We look forward to a new generation of Travelers joining our ranks. See you in Eterra, Traveler. View the full article

For horror fans around the world, Halloween (1978) marked a pivotal moment for the genre. That shared love and passion for the quintessential slasher is one of the many reasons why our team is so honored and excited to collaborate with Malek Akkad, Ryan Freimann, and Gun Interactive to bring the world of Haddonfield and the iconic masked murderer Michael Myers to players in the first major Halloween video game. We’re even more excited to partner with PlayStation to share our first look at gameplay and the official release date for Halloween. From its earliest iterations, Halloween has been crafted to deliver an immersive horror sandbox experience that can be enjoyed through a standalone singleplayer story or dynamic asymmetrical multiplayer matches. We wanted to empower players to create their very own horror movie moments, whether they’re stepping behind the mask of Michael Myers or taking the role of one of the heroic residents of Haddonfield. Our team is working diligently to ensure this quiet suburban town is brimming with 70s-era charm and effectively serves as a virtual playground filled with innocent townsfolk that players can either save or slaughter. As Michael, your goal is to find, stalk, and kill the residents of Haddonfield before Halloween night ends. While the aptly named “Boogeyman” lurks in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike, the townsfolk NPCs are innocently living their lives, engaged in everyday household activities. In an effort to properly embody the personification of evil, players have the freedom to leverage the terrifying power of Michael Myers to creatively murder anyone unfortunate enough to cross Michael’s path. We’re offering a shocking amount of gruesome executions that are guaranteed to put huge smiles on the faces of horror enthusiasts like ourselves. We hope players have some fun with our interpretation of Michael’s inexplicable tendency to suddenly appear in completely unexpected places and catch victims off-guard with Michael’s “Shape Jump” ability as well. Thankfully for the families of Haddonfield, our brave playable hero characters have a chance to thwart Michael’s murderous intentions and rescue their neighbors. As a Hero of Haddonfield, it’s your duty to warn those around you of Michael’s presence, convince the townsfolk NPCs to alert the authorities, and gather weapons and items that can be used to fight back against The Shape. With the right gear and some smooth-talking, you can even instruct the townsfolk to follow you to various points on the map, including a police-provided escape. For those looking to brawl with evil, it’s worth noting that while you can knock Michael down to buy precious time, he can’t be killed. However, with enough police presence, Michael can be detained. When players dive into Halloween for the first time, we want Haddonfield to feel like a living, breathing game world. Our team aims to elevate the unpredictability and tension of each match through a series of dynamic map features, believable NPCs, robust gameplay options, haunting visuals, striking audio, and much more. We’ve developed several asymmetrical multiplayer horror titles and fully understand the desires and expectations of our players, and have been hard at work constructing something genuinely worthy of the IP with Halloween. We’re also thrilled to offer a standalone single-player component to this package that allows players to witness key narrative events of “The Night He Came Home” through the eyes of Michael Myers. It’s an amazing moment to present gameplay to the public for the first time, and we appreciate you all sharing it with us! While we’ve given players some pieces to chew on, it’s only a taste of what we believe is shaping up to be a truly special and murderous sandbox horror experience, and we’re looking forward to sharing more in the coming months. We can’t wait for you all to join us in Haddonfield when Halloween launches on PlayStation 5 on September 8, 2026. View the full article

Attention Agents! It looks like your clearance has finally been approved! What you’re about to read is highly confidential, but truth often leaks through the cracks. Proceed with caution… They are watching. Historical Report Log Deus Ex has always been about freedom. When the original title first launched, it redefined what a video game could be, melding RPG elements, action and stealth gameplay, and branching player choices into a cyberpunk immersive sim like nobody else had ever tried. Storm through the front door, hack the security grid, slip past enemies with invisibility cloaks, or talk your way through impossible odds. Every mission, every level, and every outcome adapts to your choices. Today, those foundations remain intact, but they’ve been enhanced to ensure the experience feels as revolutionary in 2025 as it did in 2000. New to the first Deus Ex? Let us set the scene. The year is 2052. Societies are teetering on collapse, plagues spread unchecked, and shadow governments shape the future. As JC Denton, a nano-augmented UNATCO operative, you’ll travel from the streets of New York to the neon-lit alleys of Hong Kong, through shadowy Parisian strongholds, and into the depths of Area 51 with the intention of keeping order. But the deeper you dig, the more lies you uncover. What begins as a mission becomes a fracture point in human history. Operation: Collaboration This operation was made possible through close (but classified) collaboration between Aspyr and Eidos-Montréal. Together, we’ve ensured the core directives remain intact, while upgrading protocols for today’s operatives. The mission: preserve the truth, modernize the tools, and prepare a new generation of agents for what lies ahead. Operation: Remastered This remaster isn’t just a visual upgrade, but a preservation of Deus Ex’s DNA – carefully modernized without sacrificing the conspiratorial paranoia that made the original game so iconic. Each location has been overhauled with new lighting, dynamic shadows, particle systems, and upscaled textures. For the first time, you’ll see this dystopian future rendered with rebuilt character models, lip-synced dialogue, and ragdoll physics. Control: Optimized When Deus Ex first released in 2000, its control scheme was built for keyboard and mouse, tailored to the PC audience of the era. Complex key bindings and dense menus gave players unmatched freedom, but also made the experience a challenge to translate onto a controller. Early console ports struggled to capture that same precision. The control scheme has been optimized from the ground up, designed to feel intuitive and responsive whether you’re sneaking through back alleys or storming corporate headquarters. Our approach draws inspiration from what Eidos-Montréal pioneered in Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided—refined radial menus, fluid weapon management, and streamlined navigation—all adapted to modern controllers. On PlayStation 5, that means precision aiming, and smooth traversal that makes every augmentation feel natural at your fingertips. End Log We’ve said too much, the feed is compromised. Trust no one… Even your allies may not be what they seem… Be ready when the truth breaks, accept your mission and secure your pre-order today on PlayStation Store. Deployment begins in February, whether you’re prepared or not. Watch the shadows, agent. They’re watching you. View the full article

Lace up those boots and grab your rifle. It’s nearly time. Battlefield 6’s Single Player campaign is a white knuckle thrill ride that has you playing various members of Dagger 13, an elite Marine Raiders unit determined to stop Pax Armata, a private military corporation seeking to reshape global power as NATO teeters on the edge of collapse. After the War Stories episode structure of Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V, Battlefield 6 is a return to a singular narrative, one that has you fighting battles across three continents. During this campaign, you’ll fight a tank battle under the shadows of the Pyramids, take to the streets of Brooklyn for intense gunfights, perform a HALO jump into enemy territory, and more in this modern military thriller. Along the way, you’ll assume the role of members of Dagger 13, confronting inner and outer turmoil as they seek to accomplish their mission. Dagger 13 includes: Haz Carter: a former high school quarterback who chose the rugged allure of the wilderness over being a sports star. During his time in the Marines, Haz was recognized for his blend of athletic prowess and survival skills, ultimately joining the Marine Raiders, rising to become an Assault expert and the leader of the squad. Dylan Murphy: a warfighter who chose the frontlines over an officer’s career, Murphy’s courage and strategic thinking make him a vital member of Dagger as the team’s Engineer. Simone “Gecko” Espina: Gecko learned to be a hunter on her grandfather’s farm and carried her expertise at tracking and taking on the elements into her military career. An adrenaline fanatic, Gecko became a Special Forces Operator. As the newest member of Dagger, she’s ready to prove herself as the squad’s Recon expert. Cliff Lopez: Rejecting his parents’ wishes for him to go to med school, Lopez sought glory and adventure on the field of battle. Lopez wears his heart on his sleeve and as the squad’s Support is an essential member of the team. Lucas Hemlock: A CIA Operator with a largely redacted past, all most people know about Hemlock is that he’s a true patriot to the end and is willing to do anything for his country. True to Battlefield, your squad is the key to accomplishing your mission in Single Player. You’ll be able to command the rest of Dagger 13 to engage enemy forces as a group in order to suppress them as you reposition to snipe, flank them, or take out multiple foes with a well-thrown grenade. Additionally, as you step into the well-worn boots of different members of the squad, you’ll be able to take advantage of their respective abilities and talents to gain the upper hand when engaging the enemy. Battlefield 6’s Single Player and Multiplayer take place in an interconnected world, with Dagger 13’s mission taking them to locales and battles that players will be experiencing in the series’ iconic All-Out Warfare multiplayer modes, where NATO’s remaining forces wage war against Pax Armata. These modes encompass why Battlefield has remained one of the first-person shooters most celebrated titles for over 20 years, with players ducking in and out of crumbling buildings to fight one another as tanks roll onto the field to maximize damage and jets square off in the skies far above. Carefully selecting your role and specialties via the Class System will allow you to wage war the way you wish, whether that’s storming into the front line as an Assault soldier, reducing enemy vehicles to scraps with the Engineer’s rockets and mines, pulling off the perfect sniper headshot as a Recon, or keeping your pals in the fight as a Support soldier capable of instantly reviving fallen comrades with a defibrillator. Take whatever path you wish to reach your goal, but just remember to play the objective, as smart, coordinated teamwork is often the deciding factor between victory and defeat. Battlefield 6 releases on PlayStation 5 on October 10, 2025 and is available in a standard edition (MSRP $69.99USD / £69.99) and the Phantom Edition (MSRP $99.99USD / £99.99), which includes a full game download of Battlefield 6, as well as the exclusive “Phantom Squad” Soldier Skin pack, plus two high-performance Weapon Packages, a Vehicle Skin, and a Combat Knife Skin. The Phantom Edition also includes a token for Battlefield Pro, a Season 1 package that includes the Battle Pass, 25 Tier Skips, exclusive cosmetics, XP tokens, and much more. The game will be available on PlayStation Store as well at most major retailers worldwide*. Battlefield 6 is PlayStation 5 Pro Enhanced so you can experience All Out Warfare and Tactical Destruction at even higher frames and greater visual fidelity. October 10 is just around the corner and we look forward to seeing you on the Battlefield. *Please check with your local retailer for more information. View the full article

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is the world’s most advanced consumer flight simulator offering an unprecedented level of realism and authenticity. With up to 125 highly detailed aircraft, we have developed the largest and most diverse fleet ever assembled for a flight simulator. We have an incredibly wide range of aircraft: nimble ultralights, a wide variety of general aviation aircraft, famous bush trip planes, rotorcraft, eVTOLs, airships, steerable balloons, all the way to sleek business jets, a fleet of narrow- and wide-body airliners and even heavy military transporters and fighter jets. To make this PlayStation experience truly shine, we embraced the immersive features offered by the DualSense wireless controller. Adaptive triggers respond to different speeds and surface types on the ground and provide sloped resistance in the air. Communications from air traffic control (ATC) play through the controller speaker, simulating the feel of a real cockpit. Gyro controls, lightbar support, and a customizable touchpad further enhance the immersion during flight. We unleashed the full power of the PS5 and PS5 Pro so aviation enthusiasts can now, for the first time on PlayStation, fly anywhere on the globe at any time of day or year, land at over 40,000 airports and runways and at over 60,000 helipads. Explore all seven continents in stunning detail. Fly on your own or with friends from around world, and even fly with accurate, real-time, real-world air-traffic. Simmers on PS5 will test their aviation skills in some of the most visually stunning and technically detailed aircraft with accurate aerodynamics fully flight-tested by real pilots. PS VR2 owners will be able to experience the entire game through their headset and Sense controllers with a free update that will be available in 2026. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 introduces an all-new career system that helps new pilots learn how to fly the many different types of aircraft. Virtual pilots have access to a nearly unlimited number of missions and activities all over the world. Start your aviation career to gain experience and build your reputation, enabling you to unlock exciting missions in firefighting, search and rescue, aerial construction, agriculture, and more. Hey everyone! We are super excited to reveal the first-ever gameplay of Zero Parades – For Dead Spies. If you’ve been wondering what our next game after Disco Elysium looks like since our official announcement at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, then get yourself ready for a whirlwind tour. Play Video Zero Parades – For Dead Spies is a narrative-first espionage RPG steeped in paranoia, surrealism, and a struggle for redemption. You play as Hershel, a brilliant yet unfortunate operant in a world where trust is scarce, betrayal is just around every corner, and failure is inevitable. You’ll see that our game bears its cRPG lineage proudly. If you ever played Disco Elysium, Baldur’s Gate, or Pillars of Eternity, you will feel right at home. There are, of course, a lot of new ideas we wanted to bring into the mix. So let’s take a deep dive into those you can see in the gameplay reveal trailer: Dramatic Encounters This is a brand-new feature we are introducing for Zero Parades. We want you to feel like a true operant (our term for spies) and that means including high-intensity scenes alongside the more methodical ones. Dramatic Encounters are moments in which time stands still so you must make a series of choices to resolve a potentially deadly situation. But this isn’t James Bond. You can’t just smile and shoot your way out of everything. So, while you are skilled, the outcome of your choices will ultimately be determined by dice roll – which is influenced by your character’s attributes. If you do fail, the sequence will continue, and you’ll have to hope your next choice goes better for you. To illustrate with an example from the trailer: you are being tailed. You only have time to react to the ongoing situation and hopefully worm your way out of it. It begins by time slowing down to a pause and your highly trained eye showing you your options. Do you try to hide in a crowd and lose the tail that way? Or do you take a risky jump and pray that they don’t dare follow? Neither option is right or wrong, but you will have to live with the consequences either way. Failing forward & Exertion A core pillar of our game design philosophy is the idea of ‘failing forward’. The story continues no matter what happens – you’ll just be better off if it goes well. Those who played Disco Elysium should know the joy of embracing failure that we put into our games. Don’t be so quick to reload the game as there’s a surprise waiting for you after every bad dice roll. We have evolved how this plays out in Zero Parades with the introduction of the ‘Exert’ button. When you’re faced with a dice roll, you now get the chance to push your luck a little further. Hitting the ‘Exert’ button allows you to roll with advantage (by adding a third die to the roll) so you can take the scores of the best two dice rolls and ignore the worst one, giving you more chance at success. This does come with a small sacrifice, but we’ll go into what that is at another time. Conditioning A big part of the spy fantasy is the ‘conditioning’ that they must go through. This is training their mind to deal with the worst situations they may encounter – such as being interrogated or being able to act like the enemy to sneak past in plain sight. We have turned that idea into a gameplay mechanic in Zero Parades. It’s called, simply, Conditioning. An advancement of what we did with the Thought Cabinet in Disco Elysium, this is where you can reinforce Thoughts that you come across in the game world. These may enhance your skills or allow you access to new ways of thinking. But, being a spy, Hershel doesn’t have the luxury of internalising ideas for several hours or days like in Disco Elysium, so the experience with Conditioning is a lot snappier to match our new setting. We’re very interested in how the human mind is affected by the pressures of being a spy. Conditioning is one way in which we explore this as you can decide how to shape Hershel from the inside out. As with everything, you can’t have it all, so you need to balance the positives with the negatives. Being an operant isn’t easy and if you’re not careful it could eat your mind. Zero Parades – For Dead Spies will launch in 2026 on PS5. Wishlist today. View the full article

All of the team working on Saros are so proud to be back to share our first look at extended gameplay, and we are thrilled to announce that Saros is launching March 20 2026 on PS5 and enhanced for PS5 Pro. This is a dream project, by a dream team. Please watch our gameplay first look below: Play Video This gameplay is captured on PS5 at 60fps using Unreal Engine 5 and is still a work in progress, so expect tweaks, fixes, and upgrades when you’re playing Saros on PS5 or enhanced on your PS5 Pro in 2026. For this extended gameplay reveal we wanted to establish the world and story and then focus purely on our deep 3rd person action, and how we take things to the next level with Saros. The shape-shifting planet of Carcosa The events of Saros take place on Carcosa, a shape-shifting, hostile alien planet; one that changes on every death, and offers a wide variety of environments and enemies for you to encounter. In this gameplay first look, we see our protagonist Arjun Devraj (performed by Rahul Kohli) exploring the planet as a total eclipse nears. Along the way he finds Nitya Chandran (performed by Shunori Ramanthan), one of our ensemble cast, and a key character. The stunning environment Arjun explores is that of a lost ancient civilization fueled by the twisted enlightenment of the eclipse. This is just one of the biomes our amazing team on Saros are creating. How our action gameplay has evolved For our first look at gameplay we wanted to show real and unedited action gameplay from Saros, and then layer by layer detail some of the new elements we have added on top of Returnal’s award winning third-person action. Our goal with these new elements has been to add more depth to our gameplay by adding a wider variety of tools. Arjun’s Soltari advanced combat suit allows him to dash, melee, jump, and more. At the start of every run you will select your loadout from a mix of Soltari human weaponry and Carcosan alien weaponry. In this video, Arjun is using the Soltari Phosphorous Shotgun to defend himself and melt the hostile machines housed in the lost ancient city. As you can see from our extended gameplay, you can expect spectacular bullet patterns from enemies, and brutal weapons to use which fuel the sci-fi power fantasy. Weaponry & Abilities Let’s talk about Arjun’s unique abilities. Firstly, we have the Soltari Shield, activated by holding R1. In SAROS, you can run into the hostile projectiles, absorbing their energy to defend yourself. Once absorbed you can hit back hard with your Carcosan Power Weapon. This second unique ability allows you to charge up the weapon with energy harvested from hostile projectiles (by pulling the L2 adaptive trigger fully), then discharging this explosive energy at enemies with R2. Power Weapons transform Arjun’s right arm into an eclipse-fuelled weapon, corrupting him in the process. This gives him an alternate, and customizable, way to deal devastating damage to hostiles. Storytelling in Carcosa We also wanted to highlight how we are expanding our storytelling in Saros. Along with grounded voice-over, stunning cinematics, haunting audio logs, and conversations with our ensemble cast of NPCs, there are also Soltari Holograms detailing what happened on Carcosa as you explore. If you choose to collect them, they are vital to discover what happened on this hostile planet. There’s also more surreal and mysterious storytelling sequences, but we will share more with you about these moments ahead… The final element we highlight is the “Second Chance” ability. On death, Arjun has the ability – once discovered – to use eclipse corruption energy to rise back up on first death. This is one small part of the permanent-progression systems we have added in Saros, which will allow you to always come back stronger after each death. These systems include the ability to upgrade your Soltari advanced combat suit & abilities if you choose to do so. We are super proud of how Saros plays, and cannot wait for you all to experience it. Saros has been built by a dream team of collaborators; for this PS Blog post we wanted to shout out all of our superb PlayStation Studio partners including XDEV, Nixxes, PlayStation Studios Creative Arts teams and many more. Nixxes are working closely with Housemarque’s creative, gameplay, art, and production leadership on key elements of the art and gameplay in Saros. They have been an amazing collaborator, and you can see their stunning work in this gameplay first look. After our award-winning collaboration on Returnal, PlayStation Studios Creative Arts are also back working with the team at Housemarque. The sound and music you hear in this reveal is the result of this continued collaboration, and we are building something exceptional together. Last but not least, the dark-electronic meets drone-metal score featured in this gameplay showcase (and in our earlier cinematic announcement), was composed by the fantastic and two-time Grammy Award-winning Sam Slater. His past work includes collaborations on the acclaimed Chernobyl and Joker, as well as being part of the team behind the score for the cult film, Mandy. Expect a deep dive into our musical score and Sam’s process as we get closer to launch. We set out to create a bold and innovative score unique in any medium today. In the future we’ll be sharing more about our mysterious, monstrous, and moving story including our plot, ensemble cast of NPCs, and the lost off-world colony on Carcosa you will experience.
