Professional Websites

I check out every clans website and I see these great sites. Then I go to our site... a freewebs site. It's working right now for what we need but we want more. We're looking at getting a new, more professional site, but we don't have any site masters in our clan. So I was wondering how one goes about getting a nice website without having a site master in the clan??? Please help?!?!?!

I had to learn 3 programs to do ours and ours is still a work in progress. It's not easy and it gets very frustrating at times. So I honestly wouldn't recommend that route...that's why we're starting to outsource parts of our site. It's very time consuming.

I hear Sniper is the website guy...you might wanna try to contact him to help you.

I have searched and searched and searched for user friendly site that you dont have to know HTML to use and for the money the best one I came up with is what we used http://www.spruz.net or http://www.spruz.com I can remember which is I never actually go to their site now lol. But you dont have to know any HTML it is mainly templates and you can use advance editing to change the HTML of the site if you want. It only cost us about $10/month for 10,000/month so it's a pretty good deal.

We have a free website (proboards) also. Its only a forum, but it serves it purpose, We use it for communication between clan members and friends. Its nothing fancy. I just don't have the time to keep up with a new website, right now.

HTML is a Bitch but I know some stuff I know next to nothing tho when it comes to all the web hosting however so im not for this job

You can all ways go with a CMS "Content Managment System". Jommla,Zoops,CMS made easy etc. You have to learn how to use them of course, but there all open source and have some nice templates. Or you can go with Snip or myself. I havent made any clan sites before as Iv only made commercial websites. I offer full flash sites and also include a CMS (Content Management System) as mentioned above but for Flash so you can have a fully customized Flash site and not know anything about Flash and be able to update it easily. Depends on how much money you want to spend.. (up front or monthly)

 

I think for free, you cant go wrong with freewebs.

Freewebs + Proboards = pretty damn good site for free.!

 

plus buy a domain name for $5-$10 bucks a year & your all good ;D

 

Most of a website is just forums & maybe a roster.. the rest doesn't get much use. (rosters with ranks, etc. can get tedious to edit)

 

 

For a price, both of these can build you something beyond your wildest dreams.

You could also get yourself a "Landing Page" done pretty cheap.. that will add to the pretty & flashyness.!!

 

Landing Page - It is just a page that people first see when they enter your http://www.url.com, then they click on a logo or something that takes them to the actual website.

ReD CeLL was a clan that used to be pretty big in these parts, then they broke up.. & now appear to be back together in some form or another.
