IRISH BULL Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 http://www.psxextreme.com/ps3-news/3976.html I never actually read the entire thing, but this article pointed out they advise to back up your PS3. How do you back up a PS3? Also, do you think its necessary?? Quote
Neoblackhound Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 You use a external harddrive or your computer when you go to format utility (I think) theres a backup system or harddrive part there. Quote
GeneralWar Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 backup utility is under system settings & its only necessary if ur cautious if an update harms ur PS3 Quote

R_O_C_K Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 i think it is a very good idea to back it up with as much junk thats out there to hurt your system. Quote
BigMoneyNacku Posted October 22, 2008 Report Staff Posted October 22, 2008 SO do you have to back it up on an external? Or can you back it up on the ps3 itself? Or does that defeat the purpose? ;D Quote

I have a 8 gig thumb drive that I use and I'm not even sure how much it takes up. I don't keep any data or anything on my PS3 so... I delete all download game demos and stuff. Quote
Neoblackhound Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 I just thought about this, or would it depend on how much space you use on the hard drive? Right now because of my movies I am down to 18gigs on a 60gig hard drive. Quote
