chris_pheonix7 Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 RENTALS: Dead Space (Awesome) / Mirror's Edge (Short but a very good game that is "fresh") BUY!: Fallout 3 (Lives up to the hype) / Resistance (I rented it for the single player but the online makes it worth buying) TBA: Prince of Persia / Killzone 2 Quote
SHANE23 Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 I rented RFOM 2 and am now considering buying it. The single player is challenging and so far I have only played the COOP which was a blast. As for online I really don't like the idea of monster enemies. I really like military more then sci fi. I REALLY want to try the new NFS!!! I still play Hot Pursuit 2 every now and then, that one was my favorite out of all. Although it should have had Red Barchetta in the sound track!! :'( I thought about COD WAW BUT someone told me it is EXACTLY the same as COD4 but just WWII style. I don't like the party system setup as they had it. No host migration kills it! Mercenaries 2 was fun and took up a lot of time. It is a little cartoony but it served its purpose. MLB the Show I will always keep. Something I will not trade in. Quote

Campaign is better, online maps are WAY better.. the only thing is the weapons are shittier Quote

Arcaicviper Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 Tool_Minion ]Actually, I just posted this on the RVN forums: So I bought Fallout 3 yesterday with my pre-order for Socom. I asked around, read the reviews, and decided this would be a good change of pace game to Socom. First off, it's not an online game. It is basically Oblivion set in an Apocalyptic America. It has a similar advancement method (i.e. ex. points are gained, and allow you to advance your characters traits.) but adds a bonus system, allowing you to gain more for even # levels; 2,4,6...... For anyone who played Oblivion, its pretty much the same. Only difference is it's ALOT more deadly in Washington D.C. Radiation spots make it hard to travel and explore, and regular creatures have mutated into deadly animals. Also, unlike Oblivion, people automatically don't trust you. People shoot at you w/o provocation, and it's up to you to end conflicts. They also have added a shooting system that is part turned based, part Matrix, part Max Payne. When an enemy is near enough to be engaged, you can pull up this radar deal that zooms in and divides the person's body parts up into sectors. it gives you percentages of damage and likelyhood of a hit. You can stack multiple shots together to destroy an enemy. You can also cripple enemies, and leave them alive but unable to fight. Its pretty fuckin awesome. I have only played it for a few hours, and have only done like 4 side quests, but so far I got an awesome game. Its engrossing, you just wanna play and play and play. Its beautiful in presentation, it's exciting to play, and I love that in this one, you can completely determine your own destiny. Each question has a multitude of answers, and there isnt a wrong one, but everyone changes the path you are on. Only problem I've had is the lack of explanation of some of the quests. I like it and dislike it for the same reason. Trial and error got me dead, yet figuring it out made it more rewarding. More to come as I pay my way through. So far, if you liked Oblivion, you will LOVE Fallout 3. totally agree with tool on this. just bought the game today and put about 3hrs into it. this game is amazing. if you like long long long and gorgeous looking rpg/fps/3rdps games this is worth 60 bones Quote
RawTaLenT-- Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 I bought Madden09 and Ratchet clank future last night. Ratchet is more of a kids game, but I like it alot. LOL. It's different I give ya that! I'd recommend it if someone is looking for X-Mas present for your kid or just a game you can bull shit on ur self. I'm looking to play someone in Maddon09. Beware! I really really suck! BUT add me PHlLLYFAN ( the i is a L) if you wanna rock a few games. PS> fucking punting is fucking hard lol Quote
Chili327 Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 Hit up [CDS] Prane.. he is always on that game. Quote
HippieChik Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 We've been playing LBP and it is fun! You can play online with friends, so that makes it even better. I don't know if I have said this before, but if you have kids, Lego Indiana Jones is AWESOME! I don't think we would have ever played if I didn't have a 6 year old, but after playing, even if I didn't have kids, I would get it for myself. I want to play Tomb Raider Underworld. Any played this? Quote
