Zip-lines, collapsing ice bridges and auto-turrets are all coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer next month, if you game on an Xbox 360. Due out on the Xbox 360 on Feb. 1, and perhaps one day the Playstation 3 and PC, the First Strike map pack will include four new multiplayer maps and a zombie map for 1,200 Microsoft Points, or about $15. The maps will each offer a unique twist to the always addictive gameplay of Black Ops. Kowloon, inspired by the Hong Kong mission found in the game’s single player campaign, was rebuilt specifically for multiplayer matches, according to Treyarch. The game is packed with layers of rooftops and hiding spots and includes a zip-line that will let you quickly sweep between spots on the map, but do so without access to your weapons. Discovery is a map set in an antarctic research station, a station that happens to be evenly divided by a deep chasm. Fortunately there’s a single ice bridge connecting the sides, a bridge that can be collapsed. Berlin Wall has you playing in East and West Berlin and includes a No Man’s Land loaded with auto turrets. Finally, Stadium is a close quarters map with plenty of places to run around and hide in. There don’t appear to be any details about the new zombie map, at least not yet. If a user is looking for a clan, they should go and look for a clan, Urgent Fury is not the home of lazy gunners that want to post up so clans have to come to them, a Gunner should be researching the clans and find the one they like and contact them. How is that for an explanation...

Today it was announced that all future Homefront DLC will release on the Xbox 360 first before coming to PC and Playstation 3. On top of that, Xbox users will also get an exclusive map “Suburbs” for multiplayer. Today in NYC, Kaos is having a big event for Homefront so it is possible that more news and information will be coming out today. We will update this post with any information we receive. DC Universe Online launches today but PS3 gamers looking to jump in shouldn’t expect to do so immediately as it requires a good bit of installation and patching before you can jump into becoming the next legend. When PS3 owners first slide in the DC Universe Online disk they can expect an initial download of about 130MB.* After that, it appears as if the the game is copied to the hard drive in an 11GB install that can take upwards of 30 to 40 minutes.* This is then followed by another download that weighs in at 2GB. Obviously you’re connection speed will determine the total amount of time but it is probably best to set aside about an hour before you can get DCUO running.* However, that could be pushed up even higher as more people try to log on when work and school starts letting out. For now, it appears that downloading patches and installing the game is about all that users can do at the time of this writing as the servers still are not up and stable.* The development team has posted a note in the official forums saying that they are working on getting the servers finalized but that was not long after the planned 10AM EST launch time.* It is now 12:30PM EST and some overseas players are reporting that they are able to get on but are locking up.
