Every year, Blizzard holds a contest to see who can dance the most like one of the World of Warcraft races. This year’s Undead male dancer learned that real life bones aren’t quite as sturdy as video game bones. Last night’s dance contest was full of impressive performances, some of which we’ll be showcasing later in the day, but none had the passion of the Undead male dancer. The Undead male dance is a mad metal thrashing, with tons of vigorous jumping and a little head banging thrown in for good measure. We were sitting in the third row, but the third row of the press section at BlizzCon means you’re facing the wall of guys standing directly in front of the stage. Luckily Blizzard’s live feed was there, capturing all of the bone-crunching action. The dance started well enough, and the crowd was going wild (it was a very Horde crowd – it always is). A few minutes into the dance the performer fell on his ass, and we laughed, blaming over exuberance. A few seconds later he fell and didn’t get up. Host Jay Mohr took things in stride, trying to help the contestant up, to no avail. Soon the Blizzard support staff rushed out onto the stage, carrying the injured performer out of harm’s way. From where we were sitting there was no loud crack, and the dancer didn’t make a sound; he just went down and stayed down. About 10 minutes later paramedics stormed the front row to reach the injured dancer. One of those guys crowding the front of the stage with his camera was pushed away with a rough hand to the face by one of the emergency workers. That made me smile, just a little. Remember kids, World of Warcraft dancing is a serious business, and if you’re not prepared to sacrifice yourself for your art, then you should just hang up your dancing shoes. We wish the injured Undead male a speedy recovery. Score: 0 (0 votes cast) Urgent Fury Command: More...

Rockstar’s detailed the Land Grab mode that comes with the new Red Dead Redemption pack, Undead Nightmare. Land Grab is a brand new Free Roam multiplayer Mode where players fight for control over a section of up to seven different towns, Rockstar said on its website. Players initiate the mode by visiting one of the seven distinct areas (Armadillo, Blackwater, Chuparosa, Escalera, Las Hermanas, MacFarlane’s Ranch and Thieves Landing) and finding the post that says Land Grab.* Once the post is activated, a countdown will begin and players are then given control over a radius of territory, displayed on the in-game map. According to Rockstar, in order to lay claim to the land, players must remain inside the predetermined radius, and defend against any oncoming enemies.* If another player sneaks your area and activates the post again or you leave, you’ll lose control of the territory. Furthermore, while the land grab is active, players add to the XP pot awarded at the conclusion of the match by taking down other players. XP can also be shared as Posses are also supported in this new mode. Finally, when time is up, the match ends and the XP pot is then divided between all players that held the land at any point during the match, with larger percentages going to the players that held it longest. A minimum of three people must be in a session to start a Land Grab, and this mode is only available in Normal and Hardcore Free modes. All players can participate in an active Land Grab, Rockstar said, but only players that have the Undead Nightmare Pack can initiate a game. The Undead Nightmare pack will release next Tuesday on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. Score: 0 (0 votes cast) Urgent Fury Command: More...

In its continued attempt to get you to play military shooters that aren’t Call of Duty, publisher EA is building the hype for this winter’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam expansion. It costs $15. It has four multiplayer maps. And? And it has “true war dialogue”, according to a press release issued today. That would be: “All-new voiceovers for both American and Vietnamese forces, based on authentic communication from the Vietnam war for maximum immersion.” It also has patrol boats, Russian tanks, Hueys, 15 weapons, 10 Achievements/Trophies and one new trailer that you can see here. The expansion is set for a Winter release and will tack onto the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2, allowing players to continue leveling up with the progress they’ve started achieving in the base game. Medal of Honor. Bad Company 2. EA’s got a lot of war shooters. You weren’t planning on playing some other war first-person-shooter soon, were you? Score: 0 (0 votes cast) Urgent Fury Command: More...

Kill some zombies, rip bits of their bodies, put them in a blunderbuss, shoot other zombies. What’s not to like? Rockstar’s released yet another trailer Red Dead Redemption DLC, Undead Nightmare. This one’s all about the weapons you’ll be using to turn the zombie tide. Holy water, zombie bait and good ol’ fire are all shown in action here, with the entire thing looking suitably stupid. The content’s out on October 26. Score: 0 (0 votes cast) Urgent Fury Command: More...

Are you planning on picking up Killzone 3 come this February but aren’t satisfied with just a standard edition of the game? Consider yourself one of the ISA’s most elite soldiers and want something more to prove your commitment to the war with the Helghast? Well you’re in luck! On the official Killzone 3 website, a page has turned up listing three different editions of the game: standard, limited, and collector’s edition. Though it seems the listings may have been added a little preemptively, as there aren’t any details regarding what each of the editions offer at the moment. You can view a snapshot of the site below: We’ll be sure to keep you updated as to when these limited and collector’s editions are officially announced, and what regions they’ll be made available for. Earlier today, Electronic Arts happily announced that its Medal of Honor reboot sold 1.5 million copies worldwide in just five days. What wasn’t in the publisher’s original announcement was a dollar amount. Now speaking on a Fox Business TV segment, EA CEO John Ricitiello has confirmed that the game generated a very healthy $100 million. Bungie’s Halo: Reach generated $200 million on day one (and on just one platform: Xbox 360), but $100 million is certainly nothing to sneeze at and the real holiday shopping season hasn’t even begun yet – so there’s ample time to significantly grow that number through retail and paid DLC in future. Four minutes, two teams, and no respawns. That’s the basic description of Medal of Honor’s new Clean Sweep mode, available on November 2 as a free download for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, unless you bought the game used. Clean Sweep is a quick and dirty online mode for Medal of Honor in which two teams compete to kill each other. The catch? Neither team respawns, so when you’re dead, you’re dead. It’s the sort of mode in which heroes are made. As long as one player on your team survives, there’s still hope. The new mode goes live on November 2, packaged with two new maps – Bagram Hangar and Khyber Caves – and redesigned versions of the existing Diwagal Camp and Kabul City Ruins. And it’s free, as long as you have an Online Pass. Part of EA’s continuing efforts to lessen the impact the used game market has on its bottom line, the Online Pass is a special code only available in new copies of Medal of Honor. If someone loses that code or buys the game used, a replacement can be purchased from inside the game for $9.99. So basically what owners of used copies of Medal of Honor have to ask themselves is if this new multiplayer mode worth the $9.99? Well is it? Score: 0 (0 votes cast) Urgent Fury Command: More...

Today in Alabama a thief took off from a local printing press with a copy of the upcoming game Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game, which is due to be released on november 9th, is currently set to be the biggest entertainment launch in history, outgrossing even Modern Warfare 2. The alleged thief sold several of the copies of the game to associates… one of which who was a member of an underground hacking forum. The purchaser, who goes by the name of ‘Ungodly Leaker’ posted a thread on this forum showing the disc in his hands and making a few comments about the game. Ungodly Leaker had previously leaked Halo: Reach far ahead of its release and it is assumed intending to do the same with Black Ops. Treyarch’s community manager, Josh Olin, attempted to join the hacking forum and negotiate with the people involved, as well as those who had dealt with the Beta Leak, but was subsequently banned from the entire forum. Regardless, he was able to get in contact with several members outside of the forums realms – one of them, a regular on the forum known as 97SIRHB, was contacted via twitter. For several hours, 97SIRHB’s twitter account was followed by Josh Olin – who only follows less than 100 of his 80,000 followers. During this time they swapped AIM details, and talked over the phone. 97SIRHB then posted on the forum, revealling publicly that Josh was seeking information on the potential leakers and that if the game was leaked, that he would make sure the entire site was shut down. The game, if leaked, poses to cause both Activision and Treyarch a large amount of financial harm; however a similar incident which occured last year in regards to Modern Warfare 2 was quickly quelled by private investigators and police before it could get out of hand. As of yet it is unknown as to whether the game will be leaked in its full form in the coming days or not, but we will keep you updated as the situation progresses. As part of Epictober, check out the exclusive Call of Duty: Black Ops video below where Treyarch head honcho Mark Lamia takes us through the lush green, multiplayer foliage of “Jungle,” or as we like to call it, “A Sniper’s Dream.” There are tons of vertical spots on this Vietnam-themed map, encouraging the use of scoped weapons and sneakiness, although run and gunners will appreciate the many different opportunities to create their own carnage.
