City Interactive brings the head exploding fun of Sniper: Ghost Warrior to the PlayStation 3 next year, with updated graphics and plenty of exclusive content for Sony sniping fans. Sniper: Ghost Warrior saw mostly mediocre reviews, but people bought it anyway because it’s a game dedicated to one of the gaming world’s most enjoyable pastimes: Blowing holes in people from far away. City Interactive calls the Xbox 360 and PC launch of the game successful. Apparently did well enough to warrant a PlayStation 3 release as well. But City Interactive isn’t just porting the game to the PlayStation 3. They’re updating the title with plenty of new content to go along with the “fully upgraded gameplay and graphics.” PS3 players will score exclusive single-player missions, bonus multiplayer maps, and exclusive new sniper rifles, including the L96 and M200 Intervention. Sniper rifles have such lovely names. On top of that, there’ll also be new multiplayer modes (including Capture the Flag) and a Hard Core difficulty mode that will put players’ sniping skills to the ultimate test. “Sniper: Ghost Warrior was our most ambitious project to date and although it was extremely well-received by players, we wanted to ensure that the PS3TM version took the franchise to a higher level,” said Marek Tyminski, CEO of City Interactive. “With exclusive content and modes, we are eager to introduce the best sniper game on the market to PS3TM owners sometime in Q1 next year.” It certainly looks better. Here’s hoping it plays better too. Score: 0 (0 votes cast) Urgent Fury Command: More...

Yesterday, Medal of Honor fans patently waited for the Free DLC to drop, called “Clean Sweep.†Fans of the game have been waiting for this DLC to drop because it is the only game mode that does not allow respawning.* One life is all you get.* It is a throwback to the original multiplayer greats like Socom. The DLC It hit late at night and when my friends and I finally got into a room, everything seemed fine.* The two new maps were gorgeous and fun, and we got into some intense fire fights.* But then the end round scoreboard opened up, and to my surprise I lost 45 skill points.* I lost 45 skill points for coming in first place on the winning team?!* I thought it was a fluke, but then my friend said he lost the same amount for doing just as well as me. Game after game of “Clean Sweep,†no matter how well the player does, skill points will be detracted.* For those that do not know, skill points are ranks points in Medal of Honor.* So imagine playing a game and the better that you do, the bigger the punishment is.* Why would anyone want to play a game mode that detracts from their rank?* Maybe that is why there are only 100 people playing that game mode.* That’s pathetic for being a free DLC pack. EA needs to fix this problem.* This is their first DLC drop supporting Medal of Honor and it plays great.* It just punishes the player for playing. Thanks to Kyle Barreira. About a million dollars worth, actually. Activision and Metallica are teaming for a good cause and a selfish one, with the band headlining the publisher’s Call of Duty: Black Ops launch party and finding unemployed military vets jobs. The stars of Guitar Hero: Metallica will also be the stars of Activision’s big promotional push for next week’s big Call of Duty launch, raising $1 million USD for the Call of Duty Endowment, a benefit that “helps soldiers with the transition to civilian life and help them establish jobs and careers.” “We are honored to have Metallica partner with us to pay tribute to the brave servicemen and women who have risked their lives at war only to return home to find their biggest challenge is searching for a job,” stated Robert Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard, while possibly throwing up devil horns. “Today, the unemployment rate for veterans is 21% higher than the rate for all Americans, with veterans’ unemployment topping 500,000. We believe that the business community can and should do more.” Activision coughed up a similar donation last year at the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. While I’m sure the more cynical Call of Duty fan/Bobby Kotick hater will compare that donation to the billions of dollars the next Call of Duty game will reap for the publisher, a million bucks is nothing to sneeze at. As mentioned in your previous thread, get your team registered here and working on UFGL to get to know the clans of Urgent Fury... you must prove that you can "Win with Honor and Lose with Dignity". This is a very tight nit community so believe me when I say you are being watched. This is not a bad thing, but more of an awareness for your guys that Urgent Fury is more than a Community, it is a gaming lifestyle that we would like to show everyone that you play with. Welcome to Urgent Fury and good luck!
