Socom 4 Confirmed for Ps3 by Zipper Interactive
o-BacklasH-o replied to Jarhead0321's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't take much stock in their release dates. They've given out about a dozen release dates for Red Dead Redemption, one of my most anticipated games (sequel to PS2 hit Red Dead Revolver by Rockstar). -
Lol you ass. Have you beat all the missions on 3 stars? I have them all done, but the juggernaut ones. I stopped playing the Spec Ops back in November, because those 3 missions were ridiculous. I beat em all on Veteran(3 stars) Lash. If you ever want to finish them off I can help you. Definitely! Let me know when you want to do it. They are the only thing standing in the way of a platinum trophy lol.
-
He edited it, so does that make it a fail for Meaux? ;D
-
I'm just worried being around Tool and Prime heavily inebriated, considering they both have 100 lbs on me. :-X
-
Yeah, but that is so depressing I decided not to include it. LOL yeah taking used goods from the Raiders on the offensive side of the ball is sad.
-
I heard Justin Fargas is visiting the Chiefs as well.

Remember the PS2 internet adapters we had to buy? Man how gaming has advanced in the last 8-10 years. -

Wrath I don't think you watched enough Bears games outside the slopfest Thursday Night game against the Niners...Our receivers are VERY talented, just undeveloped and raw. Hester was a failed experiment at #1 or even #2 receiver. Look at the youth we have though and production on the field. Knox came in and did a hell of a job as a rookie, forming a rapport with Cutler early on. Earl Bennett was very solid when Cutler called on him. In what was essentially his 1st season, he posted 50+ catches and 700+ yards. Devin Aromashodu FINALLY got his chance to play his way off the practice squad and man did he earn it. Cutler loved him since the pre-season, but he finally got his shot at playing time in the final 4 weeks when Hester was injured (22 catches for 282 and 4 TD's). He is a threat with solid hands and a big target. Peyton Manning loved him too in his short stay in Indy. There's a reason for that. Juaquin Iglesias didn't even have a catch all year (similar to Earl Bennett's rookie season in 08). While I would LOVE to see Brandon Marshall or another veteran #1 receiver come to town, our receivers will work nicely in a Martz system. Aromashodu and Bennett likely as 1 and 2, with Knox (primary slot guy) and Hester in the slots on 4 receiver sets is not too shabby. What defense can match up with TWO receivers with 4.3 speed in the SLOTS? Also I think the reason the Bears "missed heavily" on Boldin, is he is a very comparable receiver to Bennett (though obviously much more skilled and proven). They didn't want to part ways with a 23 year old 3rd year receiver next season in Bennett, as the situation most likely would have called for. Lining up Boldin-Bennett 1 and 2 wouldn't have complimented each other very well. While we are still a bit off the pace of the Packers and a lot behind the Vikes (pending Favre situation), there is a lot of reason to be excited in Chicago. The defense is getting back to 06 form, with a veteran safety being the final piece to the puzzle here (Atogwe, Sharper, etc). Sharper doesn't fit well in the Tampa 2, but he's a hell of a player that would be able to adapt. Our D-Line should be sick with the addition of Peppers. Pending the health of Pisa and Urlacher, our front 7 has the potential to be as good as what we had in 06...if not better. That will alleviate pressure on the secondary, which was exposed a lot last season sans a pass rush and 2 starting LB's. Also Pisa has not resigned yet, but it's expected to happen soon as both sides would like it. We still need at least 2 offensive lineman on the offensive side, so I'm expecting them to explore that position in the draft. They will likely sign a free agent and draft 2 O-Lineman, hopefully adding depth and skill to a unit that allowed 30+ sacks last season and struggled to find running room for Forte. It's not biased opinion, like Prane said, it's informed. I'm sure I could too say something silly about your team, then you would retort with a similar informative post, obviously knowing more about your team than others (I hope).
-
Well isn't that just lovely...Fall really cannot come soon enough!
-
Now all Chicago has to do is get a QB that doesn't suck!! Yeah, because I'm sure a lot of other QB's in the league would have done a ton better. Especially considering we had the worst O-Line in football, an underachieving Forte (O-Line is partially responsible there too), and no clear cut number 1 receiver or veteran receiver.

Dude weak. I didn't predict DeSean to tear an ACL... Also I'm updating the tracker now. Anquan Boldin to the Ravens for a 3rd and 4th rounder this year. Contract already worked out.

I pre-ordered every one since 1 and they were on time. DLC on the other hand was fuuuuucked, btu the games came out on the pre-order dates. My boss can vouch for that since I've taken a few days off work every time one drops. I can vouch for that too. Once they set a confirmed release date they always met it. I'm a fellow SOCOM junkie that has preordered everyone. They laughed at me when I preordered Confrontation. :-X -
Yeah, that was yesterday before free agency opened. I wish the Bears could've gotten Cromartie for a 3rd, then move Peanut to Safety.

I feel truly bad for people who were not around to enjoy S1 and S2. I REALLY feel bad for people like Tool who had to sit through Confrontation as their first SOCOM. Yack. I wish I could still play S1 and S2. I have both discs, but only an 80 gig non backwards PS3. I actually stumbled upon an old CD folder of mine the other day loaded with great PS2 games, none greater than S1 and S2 though. Red Dead Revolver was one of the games in that folder. -
i only saw overgrown and crash.. they were: Crash Overgrown Complex Compact Storm Yeah, 2 old and 3 new. Those new ones look HOT. I personally can't wait to play some Overgrown. I loved that map on any game mode, but HQ and S&D were AWESOME on it.

Zipper working on Unannounced PS3 game!!! SOCOM 4???
o-BacklasH-o replied to Marlne's topic in Playstation
Well I was wrong on the announcement being at E3, THAT was just a guess as was my release date prediction. They are really prepping this game for this fall and I'm pumped! Just bumping this for those who doubted Crusty and I. -
Peppers to Da Bears looks like a done deal, as many are reporting. He will be in town today, most likely signing the contract. Now on to Brandon Marshall for a 2011 first round pick and O-Line help.

New blog post on Socom.com: http://www.socom.com/en-us/Blog/Post?id=302 SOCOM 4: It's Official! Posted by Jeremy Dunham Hello everyone, my name is Jeremy Dunham and I’m the Senior Community Manager at Zipper Interactive. I wanted to drop in and introduce myself and deliver some truly exciting news -- on behalf of everyone here at the studio, I’m pleased to announce that SOCOM 4 is indeed in development and is slated for release exclusively on PlayStation 3 this Fall. Of course, as with any new announcement, what you really want to know are the details. Who’s in your squad? Where have they been deployed? What kind of threat are they up against? Though we’ll be revealing the answers to all these questions and plenty more throughout 2010, we don’t want to leave you completely in the dark, so what we will tell you is that a militant revolutionary has unexpectedly seized control in an important South Asian country. As the Ops Com, your mission is to command an elite five-man squad charged with stopping his aggressive agenda before it’s too late. In only six days, you must lead your team through a hostile jungle and urban environments against an army of well-armed rebel insurgents that completely outnumber you. If that setup doesn’t whet your appetite enough, you should also pleased to know that in addition to the SOCOM’s single-player operation, players will also be able to enjoy a 32-person multiplayer mode that boasts more Special Forces units than ever before! If you crave even more information, then the guys at IGN have you covered with their exclusive first-look preview at what we’ve shown so far. Editor and shooting game fanatic, Ryan Geddes, dropped by our studio earlier in the week to check out SOCOM 4 for himself, so be sure to read the full IGN article to find out what he thinks. But wait! There’s more! As part of our continued announcement celebration, the folks at Game Trailers TV will air the world premiere trailer for SOCOM 4 tonight at 12:30 a.m. All you have to do is tune in to Spike TV when the time is right and let your eyes and ears do the rest. Don’t miss it! Oh, and before we let you go, we wanted to send a message to our SOCOM and MAG fans all over the world. First, if you play MAG and wonder what this means for the game’s future, wonder no more – we’re still fully committed to supporting MAG for a long, long time and the addition of another game in our lineup doesn’t change that. Second, it's been great to hear from SOCOM fanatics located in every corner of the globe as we led into today’s announcement. We’re extremely excited to be attached to this beloved franchise again and knowing that so many people wanted us to return to something that already meant so much to us has been both inspiring and touching -- so thank you to all of you who wanted it to happen! We look forward to living up to your expectations. You can disuss our upcoming game on the new SOCOM 4 forums here. http://forums.socom.com/socom/board?board.id=socom4 -
Socom 4 Confirmed for Ps3 by Zipper Interactive
o-BacklasH-o replied to Jarhead0321's topic in General Discussion
Well you didn't "know" per say lol. Anyhow I too am looking forward to REAL Socom. We played Confrontation because it had the SOCOM name, but that wasn't SOCOM. That was Slant Six and Seth Luisi trying to transform Socom into the likes of MW and Killzone. Now Zipper is back and returning to it's roots. I want the full SOCOM experience back. The single player was always fun, but I wasn't exactly a fan of the single player in S3 being attached to suits and weapons (STG and IW, along with suits). I don't want the lame run button. That's NOT Socom, that's MW2 and other games. I just hope Zipper learned from S3/CA. They made a lot of empty promises of patches and map packs, leaving us in the dark for months at a time. They made 2 great games in S1 and S2, but dropped the ball a tad with 3 and CA was total bleh. They eventually came through with map packs and patches, but it was far too late when they did. I liked Socom 3, but not nearly as much as the first 2. I played them all religiously though. Confrontation didn't even compare to Socom 3, much less the 1st 2. Side switch is NOT socom. No tiebreakers? You call that Socom? I'm so craving a real Socom. I haven't had that craving filled thoroughly ever since the last night of Socom 2. I remember playing Sandstorm that night and some guy that obtained the game early came in the room saying "Socom 3 isn't nearly as fun as this." Nobody believed him, but he sent everyone that doubted him a picture text. That was the last night of true nirvana for me. I will forever love and play Socom, but I'm just PRAYING this one finally lives up to the name. P.S. I'm already itching to drop MW2 like a bag of bricks come fall. -

Right now is the point where Crusty and I sit back in our chairs, feet up, arms crossed, and saying "we told you so." Nobody wanted to believe us, how about it now?
