We ALL hope they do it right' date=' but dont forget Zipper was the one that was going to release the "map packs" so we may not see this til after the next CoD comes out. lol (which could be this fall also, so i guess it wouldn't be far off)[/quote'] Considering the single player has been done and playable (only needing some minor tweaking) for months I don't this fall is going to be a hard date for them to hit. I agree Zipper has had their fair share of short comings in the past but this is their baby. Nobody is gonna do a Socom quite like Zipper can. I can't stomach another Somodernvegasfuture piece of crap. I believe a lot of Zippers problems back in the day came from being a small company with limited resources. Those days are long gone. If you were privileged enough to see the private beta boards for MAG it was really special. The communication with the developers was top notch and they were fixing all the right things. This is not the Zipper of old.

    Judging by how much of it I know to be done already I don't think a fall 2010 spring 2011 release is out of the realm of possibility. The CD universe date is a projected date and according to Jeremy Dunham they are on track to meet their dates. This is Zipper which is a huge company now not a hack PSP developer who is in way over their head and severely understaffed.

    You were wrong twice!! First on the announcement and now the release date!! How can I/we ever trust you again. I feel so betrayed. lol Anywho, I guess that cduniverse was pretty close. That is a projected date that they think they can hit. October or November seems more likely to me since I can't think of a PS3 game that hasn't been delayed.

    I don't mind a natural progression I just want the key fundamentals. No side switching, no run button, no bomb respawn, 11 rounds with a tie breaker etc.

    I understand your skepticism and if I were in your position I would feel the exact same way. All I can tell you is that the project does exist and has been in the works for about 3 years.     When is the release date for SOCOM 4? Or at the very least, what year and quarter. No one knows not even the developer which is Zipper. The guy brought up in this thread got laid off from /6 and is now involved in Mod Nation Racers. Best guess is somewhere between fall of this year and spring of next year.

    No I think it's more because /6 is really bad at making PS3 games.
