Where does the MW community stand on riot shields in wars? I'm just curious because the equalizer for shields is 203's.

That's nice info Cloud but... He says he still has the problem when he connects directly to the modem which is bypassing the router. So while I agree putting the PS3 into the DMZ is not a bad idea (as long as you know what your doing) It's still not going to fix security issues he might have with his modem. I know this from personal experience because I put my PS3 into the DMZ and it didn't fix my problem until I disabled the firewall in the modem.

Some Modems have built in Firewalls. I had to contact my ISP to get them to walk me through turning off the security in the modem. It made a huge difference in the performance of my online games. I went from NAT 3 to NAT 2 which is supposed to be the best. On MW2 my NAT type is usually moderate or open. The security of the modem doesn't concern me much since I have security built into my router and software on my computers.

It sounds like Snow Bud is saying there is a way to look at the in game lobbies to see how many players are playing each game mode. Is that correct snow? If so can you explain how to do it? I would like to see the numbers.

I agree with the feelings of the hard core modern warfare players. It makes me angry to no end when COD players come into Socom forums posting things like Socom should have packs of dogs or helicopters. There is nothing that would ruin a socom game more than those kinds of things. So I try not to change or go against the grain with the MW games. You guys play your game and tournaments however you want and if it sounds fun I'll sign up.

I could see how that would happen just because the current Socom is getting old due to patches that take forever and DLC that seems to be like the pot at the end of a rainbow. I don't think that UF will be making the primary game mode for MW2 third person. On the other hand there appears to be some interest in that so maybe there could be something on the side. Maybe an official response from a director on what their approach to this is going to be is needed?

I think one of the things that 3rd person mode is missing is precision aiming cross hairs. I like 3rd person and play it pretty often mostly because I'm brain washed by Zipper. lol 3rd person is a little awkward and clunky but it is an alternative for people who really can't or don't want to play 1st person. I personally love being able to see my characters feet while playing. I go back and forth between 1st and 3rd.

That's how long it was in the beta and I don't remember much changing once the final game launched. I remember watching a whole tv show on my tivo while waiting for a game to load. That's not even counting the mass boots, super spawns, invisible walls and fences. I am a Socomer always will be. As long as they keep making the games I will play it till I'm 80. Let's be realistic though the game has been terrible. Play MW1 or two or KZ2 and see that for the most part it is pretty smooth online. Then go back to Socom and see how there is a constant lag throughout the whole game. I wouldn't have even bought MW2 if there was a good Socom game out for next gen. The game is terrible I play it for my clan and friends.

Agreed. Agreed to what? The statement is based on misinformation. Socom Was down for about the first 3 months unless you consider 30 to 45 minute load times for 1 game working properly. Not to mention the massive boots and latency a portion of which still exists today. Party system = IW's fault Server problem = Sony's fault.

Patch is supposed to be out today to fix this problem.

Devs don't handle server hosting it's to expensive and they don't have the time. Even though fourzerotwo announces they are adding more servers it is Sony that is handling it. Sony contracts third party companies to host the servers for third party games. So probably what happened was Sony went with the minimum amount of servers to host the game and of course it wasn't enough. This is all on Sony. Microsoft on the other hand handles the servers for all of it's games exclusive or not.

I have seen claymores but it's just like the first one you have to rank up to unlock them.

The blame for this does go on Sony. It is their outsourcing of server hosting of 3rd party games and being unprepared that is causing these problems.

The servers are overwhelmed particularly the one for the PSN that handles matchmaking and parties.

It's awkward at first and you can't scope in till you unlock the thermal. I think that is a bug possibly maybe they will fix it in the future so that you can scope in with red dots and acog's. Yes you can play more modes in private matches but no one wants to play that until they have everything unlocked.

I love shooting people with riot shields with a 203 ;D. If you like the Scar try the TAR that thing is awesome.

The 3rd person mode is not bad. It's in dire need of expanding because the max teams in a ranked room is 4v4 I had a hard time putting down last night. There is jump to climb. I corner camped multiple people in Hell Raisers honer.

It never ceases to amaze me at the lightning speed other devs can get patches out.
