  1. I found an in-depth article on the game from one of the lucky people who have been able to test it: http://www.eseanews.com/index.php?s=news&d=comments&id=9969
  2. Nope they want u buying the next title... where as valve flipped CS and Halflife popularity to launch steam... Sent via Tapatalk on my droid | motorola photon 4G
  3. for the same reasons socom is so successful- it's just a great game, and with the pc world being open there are constant mods, maps, etc coming down the pipe. it also received an engine upgrade (CS: Source) along the way. Great game + support = still playing.
  4. via http://playstationlifestyle.net/2011/08/26/counter-strike-go-gets-mouse-move-and-keyboard-support/ Earlier this month, Valve announced they would release an updated version of Counter-Strike, one of the most legendary and influential video games of all time, on the PS3. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will feature new maps, new game modes, and leaderboards. In addition to these features, the PlayStation version of Counter-Strike: GO will be an old-school gaming staple. Kotaku reports that the PlayStation 3 version of Valve’s Counter-Strike: GO will receive Move support and mouse and keyboard support. It was also previously mentioned that the PS3 version would support cross-platform play with the PC and Mac versions. The Xbox 360 version will not receive mouse and keyboard support. Gabe Newell explained why this feature would be supported on the PS3 only, The main thing is having Microsoft get comfortable with it and let us do it. The PS3, obviously we made a lot more progress with that…so we’d really like to be able to do that for Xbox customers as well. Since PS3 gamers will be competing against seasoned PC gamers, mouse and keyboard support is sure to come in handy. The Move support is also a great addition for those who liked using the Move for Socom 4. Keep an eye out for a beta hitting PSN sometime later this year.
  5. speaking of counterstrike, not sure if you saw this but there will be mouse and kb support on the ps3, and ps3 people will be able to play with PC folks. http://playstationlifestyle.net/2011/08/26/counter-strike-go-gets-mouse-move-and-keyboard-support/
  6. funnier one was the democrats said it was a 3.8, the republicans said it was a 5.8 and Obama comprimised.
  7. this game is gonna be bad ass! can't wait!
  8. ua crazy up in philly...
  9. never heard of this game- it's a 3rd person shooter dropping September 6th. (9/9 for EU).
  10. it gets better as you unlock weapons and mods, it's tough when you first start off it seemed.
  11. my major gripe with the game is that it takes way too many hits/clips to kill people.
  12. A standard, even boring, piece of Chinese military propaganda screened in mid-July included what must have been an unintended but nevertheless damaging revelation: shots from a computer screen showing a Chinese military university is engaged in cyberwarfare against entities in the United States. The documentary itself was otherwise meant as praise to the wisdom and judgment of Chinese military strategists, and a typical condemnation of the United States as an implacable aggressor in the cyber-realm. But the fleeting shots of an apparent China-based cyber-attack somehow made their way into the final cut. ----------- http://www.theepochtimes.com/n2/china-news/slip-up-in-chinese-military-tv-show-reveals-more-than-intended-60619.html
  13. sadly they have already confirmed lobbies will not be added to socom4. maybe next time fellas.
  14. agreed. still, demo + flashing "he's got the bomb" and flashing "bomb planted" > any socom4 game mode.
  15. who knows. there was talk about removing that flashing garbage after community pushback.. although as far as classic game modes go, this would have the least effect on demo if it did flash. you get audio notifications when the other team picks up the bomb, and also when they plant, so it would be really similar, just notified a few seconds early in both cases.

  17. welcome fellow gamer!
  18. I don't think it will hit the socom fan base too hard, people always come back. People are still playing S:C, and it took forever to get that game up to snuff. Other games are fun but they just aren't socom. Wait until after the patch drops and the next DLC is announced. I predict DEMO will make it's debut along with this, and will not only keep people playing but bring back those who want classic game modes.
  19. yea they do. there is an amazon app store app in the android marketplace.
  20. so I finally broke down and purchased tapatalk. It was in beta for blackberry so it was free, now I had to pay. Tip for those who haven't bought it already: It's $1.99 on the amazon app store, $2.99 in andriod marketplace. also if you aren't checking amazon one a day to see what the free app is you are missing out. I "purchase" them all (why not?) but don't necessarily install them. Cool thing is one you've "bought" it, you can download it at any time.
  21. last I heard this patch will come out sometime in September. Haven't seen anything posted up here on it yet, so here it is... ---------- 1.05 Update This patch is still a work in progress, so not everything that will hopefully make it in when it's done is included here (and I'm not going to call out each of the minute bug fixes), but we wanted to give everyone some idea of the bigger things to expect from 1.05: Party leader may now optionally allow other party members to invite other players into the party Classic mode mic system changed to be open Knife swipe exploit fixed (the knife no longer silences footsteps) SMG accuracy reduced over distance - tuned for up-close battles rather than long-distance kills Fixed Classic Bomb Squad double round win bug Fixed grenade launcher bug where firing over cover or at long distances could kill you Firing mechanic changes introduced in 1.04 have been rolled back (tapping to fire is now more accurate again) Several level collision issues fixed Games queues will be able to be adjusted much more easily and quickly (i.e. we'll be refreshing the queues right after launch) There have also been lots of bug fixes to the party system, clan system, UI in general and between-round transitions (i.e. less crashes). Also, a big item that's currently under investigation is the number of headshots in the game. We all know that there are too many, so the team is looking at how we might be able to counter that for the patch. It's not an issue with the size of the hitbox (that's been checked over and over), so it's not a simple fix, and any changes to the damage system in general could have adverse effects on other parts of the game if not handled carefully. So, as mentioned, that's a big TBD on if and how it would be changed, but it's certainly being looked at and will be dealt with if possible. The ETA on the patch is currently mid- to late-September. That's about all the info that we have for the moment. We'll do our best to answer any questions that we can, though what you see just about covers what we know over here. -------------------- Chris Roper Zipper Interactive --------------------
