  5. WTF.!? ;D :'( I was 19 when i bought my first CD ever.. it was a CD single for Megadeth "Hangar 18" (great live versions of some of their older, better songs) ;D PS. the first music i ever bought was a 45 record of Weird Al.. "Another one rides the bus" in 1982.! (for you younger folk.. a 45 is a record, but it was smaller & had to be played with an adapter & at a higher spped than a normal "33" record)
  6. Yea it didn't fix everything, but it is definitely cool.!! (hopefully they'll make even more adjustments to the PS3 version when it comes out)

    CoD4 Patch Info

Much appreciated Tow, but we got this patch a few weeks ago. Hopefully PS3 will get theirs soon. ;D
  8. I couldn't agree more Tow, And honestly i think the older a person the more they would agree with you also.. just as our parents thought about the "Idiot Box" we know as the TV. we are looking at kids and all people younger the same way.. it is a generation gap, that will always be there just as we cant imagine what it was like to listen to every entertaining show we ever payed any attention to was on the Radio.!? I know it sounds crazy to us, but our parents did exactly that, they listened to the radio for their after dinner entertainment. But i see it just as you do Tow. Have you ever heard of Second Life.? Second Life is an online world that has almost anything you can think of.. hookers, movie theaters, Vegas, houses, malls, etc.. you can play it for free or you can put some REAL money into an account that you can spend on things, or it can give you an allowance to use throughout the game world. I too weep for the future, & wish kids we're safe to just go out & play like we could when we we're kids. :-\ Now they have to make sure they are in a safe place with reliable supervision, etc.. I remember just getting up on a Saturday morning pulling up my sox, & heading out for the day with friends.. didn't matter where we we're headed, just out to play..!! sometimes we ended up in the creek & made torches & followed a tunnel forever (it seemed as a 11 year old ..lol) but was a hell of a journey for the day or at least a few hours of the day. or build a sketchy ramp out of milk crates & plywood that would launch us 12+ feet in the air only to land on hard ass concrete (bad idea.. btw) It just didn't matter what you we're going out to do, you just did it. but it was always outside..!! Unless you we're lucky enough to go to Chucky Cheese (which was the bomb back then) OK I'm gonna stop now, cuz i could go on & on about childhood memories.. that have nothing to do with PS Home ;D Kids today don't know what it is like to pay a dime to use the phone ..lol

  18. Ten Top Tips for Rainbow Six Vegas 2 David Knight of Prima Games offers his top ten tips for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Vegas 2. Try these out as you attempt to stop the terrorist siege of Sin City. Tagging Terrorists Your A.I. teammates can earn you experience points (XP) by killing terrorists. However, you'll earn more XP if the terrorists they kill are tagged. Consider hiding behind cover and tagging terrorists for your teammates. On Normal and Realistic difficulty, the XP awarded is the same as if you'd taken the lethal shot yourself. Avoid Innocents Not all XP earned is permanent. By injuring or killing teammates and civilians, you can incur an XP penalty. But no matter how incompetent you may be, your actions will never result in a demotion, even if your XP dips below the prerequisite level for a certain rank. Watch the Corners Be careful when moving to corners. Even if your body is behind cover, your arm, shoulder, and leg nearest the corner may be exposed. In some instances, corners can even be penetrated by some of the more powerful weapons. So if you start taking damage, quickly back away from the corner and consider another plan of attack. Be Aware of Your Cover Not all cover is created equally, so before ducking behind an object, assess its qualities and orientation. For instance, don't take cover behind objects constructed from glass, wood, or plastic. Even low powered weapons can slice through these materials. Instead, seek out solid objects, preferably built from concrete, stone, or metal. Aimed Shot While in cover mode, locate the thin crosshair icon in the center of the screen. This indicates the direction your character is aiming. Use this crosshair to aim your weapon before peeking out of cover. Once the crosshair is over your target, peek around or over your cover and notice how your weapon is already aligned with the target. Make any small aiming adjustments then take the shot. This allows you to pop in and out of cover quickly during firefights, limiting your exposure when taking aimed shots. XP Modifier To prevent players from exploiting the XP system in low population adversarial matches, a modifier system has been implemented. This adjusts the total amount of XP that can be earned based on the number of players a match. The more players in a match, the more XP is awarded. So before starting a match, make sure you have at least 12 players to maximize the amount of awarded XP for all players. The Power of Armor The protection provided by each piece of armor is cumulative and applied globally to your character's torso and limbs. Therefore, the cumulative protection value of arm, leg, and shoulder armor could help you survive a shot to the chest, even if you're not wearing body armor over your torso. However, this global armor value does not protect your character's head, nor do the various unlockable headgear pieces, including helmets. All headgear and other articles of clothing are purely aesthetic and have no impact on protection or mobility. Seven Bar Status When selecting armor, there's no reason to load your character with more than seven bars of protection. A seven bar protection value reduces damage by 40%, the maximum allowed. Increasing protection beyond seven bars will only slow you down. Tangos and Shields Watch out for tangos equipped with ballistic shields. They advance rapidly, hiding behind their shields while firing handguns. Because their torsos are completely concealed, try grazing the tops of their heads or shooting their arms or feet. If all else fails, attack with frag grenades or use flanking maneuvers to hit them from the side. Breaching charges are also very effective if one of these tangos is standing on the other side of a door. Study Your Opponents During adversarial matches, study the tactics and equipment loadouts of your opponents and counter them with the proper gear. If they're using tear gas, counter by wearing gas masks. If they're locating your teammates with the GPS device, block their scans with a radar jammer. If they're using smoke and thermal vision, blind them with flashbangs.
  19. I totally didn't see him ..lol
  20. Thats funny.. And so is a Rock Band Smiley ..lol
  21. Hit detection is always going to be a problem.. you just cant sync everyone up perfectly across the globe, so there is always going to be a slight problem with hit detection. Thats what makes "Hardcore" so great.. It makes it feel like the hit detection is better.! Also i dont mind vehicles or anything else as long as you can turn them on or off in your own room.! Also being able to host your own room ;D The party system can work, as long as you can invite a party to play against yours.!! God i hope this game is good. or i think i'll just give up completely on Socom.

Since we'll get them first i figured it should be posted over here too.! ;D ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Quote from [503] inadub might be old news to some, however im sure some will find this exciting... Call of Duty 4 DLC Map Pack Hands-On If you're tired of Middle Eastern villages and Russian forests, take heart: Infinity Ward has some shiny new battlefields on the way soon. Last year was exceptionally strong for first-person shooters. Yet despite being one of the latest genre releases in the year, Call of Duty 4 towered over its competition. There are so many shooters released these days that it's hard to stick with an online community for more than a few weeks, but even months later, we're still obsessively playing COD4's addictive online mode with no end in sight. So we counted ourselves among the incredibly fortunate when we headed down to developer Infinity Ward's Southern California offices recently to check out the game's first downloadable map pack, which is coming later this spring. Broadcast is taken from and expanded upon the Iraqi TV station mission in COD4's single-player campaign. We got a chance to chat with IW community relations manager Robert Bowling--better known to COD4 diehards by his online handle, "fourzerotwo"--about the pending downloadable maps. The first thing he told us was the first thing we wanted to hear about this pack: The Middle Eastern and Russian environments will no longer comprise the entirety of the retail game's lineup. Now that the team has moved on from the single-player campaign (and has time to work up some new art assets), we can expect to see new Call of Duty 4 maps set in entirely new locations separate from the original game. Well, except one of the maps in this pack. It's called Broadcast and is lifted from the Iraqi campaign "Charlie Don't Surf," in which you assault a television station where the enemy is holed up. Don't think the team just copied and pasted the campaign map into this multiplayer pack, though. It does contain the iconic, cavernous main room with its dozens of computer monitors and TV screens, as well as a big map of the world on the wall. We can tell you from experience that that's a great place for multiplayer firefights, with all those cubicles to duck down behind and all that equipment just waiting to get shot up by you or your opponents. A large-scale multiplayer match concentrated in that room is going to be serious calamity. But Broadcast has been expanded significantly throughout its incarnation in the campaign. There are multiple routes into and out of that main room. Some routes lead up to the building's second floor, replete with smaller rooms and hallways. The map is mostly indoors, so air strikes and helicopters will be largely ineffectual--except up on the roof, which you can access from the second floor, as well as in the expanded parking lot area outside the main building. On the other side of that parking lot is another new, smaller building that you can hide out in as well. The second map we played is entirely new, and it's named Creek. But there's a lot more to it than a simple babbling brook. This is a very large-scale outdoor map with a small cluster of houses on one side of it. In the middle, there's a huge ravine circling the perimeter with multiple levels of pathways up its side. Down below, the trail leads along the eponymous creek bed to a waterfall. Elsewhere along the base of the ravine, there's a lengthy and winding cave that cuts underneath the hill then out to the other side. As big as it is, there are a lot of places to go on this map; from prone sniping atop the cliff face to hiding out behind a rock in the tunnel, you never know where an opponent will be attacking you. Creek is a massive original map with a high ravine, cliffside pathways, and a tunnel through the base of the hill. Broadcast naturally looks exactly like COD4's campaign, but Infinity Ward's artists have done a nice pass on Creek to give it a distinctive look, with rocky terrain and various sorts of foliage that are more verdant than what you've seen in the previous Russian maps. It all feels a little sunnier and more pleasant than the game's other forested maps, too--at least until you catch a slug between your teeth. Because there's so much underbrush and shrubbery on top of the cliffs here, Bowling pointed out that it's a great map for you to use the sniper's ghillie suit for blending in while going for some sneaky kills. There will actually be four maps in the final pack, though we can only really tell you about these two. The other two will be Chinatown, which is pretty self-explanatory, and Killhouse, which is a "bonus" map that we didn't get any hard details on (though we were told to think of the single-player campaign's initial training level as a reference). The map pack will be available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the coming months for an unspecified price. But interestingly, Infinity Ward hasn't decided how the maps will be distributed on the PC, where players are much more expectant of postrelease bonus content being released for free. Realistically, Call of Duty 4's multiplayer is so absurdly good that would have gladly handed over cash for whatever maps the designers could have phoned in--so we're especially glad to see them putting so much time and care into this first release. here is the link: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/callofduty4modernwarfare/news.html?sid=6187656&tag=topslot;title;1&om_act=convert&om_clk=topslot
