@Jax: When you are in the main lobby (just before you go into the menu to select your game mode) press select, then a popup comes up giving you two options: Party Privacy: Open (Open, Invite Only, Closed) Search Preferences: Default (Default, Locale, Locale Only) You will want to change "Search Preferences' to Locale or Locale Only. As far as your NAT, try rebooting or power cycling your router. If it is still Moderate, try setting your PS3 into a DMZ. Check this video for how to set it up: http://www.youtube.com/watch/?v=ex-4qQ6trwk

Getting your NAT to Open will solve 95% of disconnect problems, especially during host migrations. I had the same problem in MW2 before I got mine open. When a host migration would occur, I would make it into the game about 2 out of 10 times. There are so many people on this game who have no idea how to make their connections better, but for some reason the game decides to have the wrong people host. I also recommend using the "Local Search" for public lobbies so that you get into low ping games which will help when Johnny's mother starts downloading a YouTube video on their 1.5 DSL connection so you don't get dropped.

For those who might not be paying much attention to the Call of Duty tournament here at UF, we have a serious fight for playoff seeding here in the final week of regular season play. The current standings after Monday, December 13th games are as follows: 1. The AieL Sept - [AieL]: (6-0 - 1.000 - 6W ) 2. The Uprising - [ U ]: (6-1 - 0.857 - 6W ) 3. Violent Revolution - [-VR-]: (6-1 - 0.857 1L ) 4. I Kill 4 Fun - [iK4F]: (3-4 - 0.428 - 2W ) 5. Fight - Outsmart - Execute - [FoE]: (2-4 - 0.333 - 2L ) 6. Enemy Lines - [EL]: (2-5 - 0.286 - 5L ) 7. Clan Killas - [sCK]: (2-5 - 0.086 - 1W ) (Unofficial Standings) It is anybody's game to win for the top 3 seeds AND the final 4 slots! EVERY MATCH on Wednesday will have an effect on the outcome of the seeding. - The Uprising earns an auto win due to the Infamous situation, so they are guaranteed a 7-1 record. If my understanding of the tie breakers are correct, U is guaranteed a spot in the Top 2 with their exact finish depending upon the result of the VR vs AieL match. If VR wins, the top 3 will be: 1. [ U ] 2. [-VR-] 3. [AieL] However if AieL wins, the seeding will be: 1. [AieL] 2. [ U ], 3. [-VR-] That is a very important game for all three clans as home court in the playoffs is on the line! - If Enemy Lines and Clan Killas find themselves in the winner's circle Wednesday night, there is a potential for a 3-way tie for 4th seed! Which, according to my information on tiebreakers, the seedings would be: 4. [EL] 5. [sCK] 6. [iK4F] 7. [FoE] However if the results are the other way, where I Kill 4 Fun and Fight - Outsmart - Execute win: 4. [iK4F] 5. [FoE] 6. [EL] 7. [sCK] If Enemy Lines win and IK4F win: 4. [iK4F] 5. [EL] 6. [FoE] 7. [sCK] If SCK and FoE win: 4. [FoE] 5. [sCK] 6. [iK4F] 7. [EL] As you can see, the night of December 15 has much one the line... Playoff Format - Single Elimination Bracket 1 1 - Bye 4v5 Bracket 2 2v7 3v6 Good luck to all squads!

You do realize that Sony has banned all 3rd party devices on the PS3 to prevent hacks... just one example. I found this video today, I generally agree with what he is saying. Would I ever get an XBox? No. If I was forced to? Sure. But I'd rather be on PC to be honest. Sorry for derailing the topic.
-
This is why PS3 > XBox. Sony is doing everythign in their power to prevent hacks/jtags/etc. I've seen some of the jtag MW2 public lobbies on youtube... stupid. Is that how they setup the 10th Prestige lobbies too?
-
@General Yeah, have you seen the care package one?
-
I did this in a GB match last night... Be sure to play the Indiana Jones theme music in your head while you are watching Damn this theater mode feature is fantastic!
-
Sounds like you may not live very close to one of their dedicated servers.

Don't get me wrong, I have had fun playing MOH. I have learned much from the MP and it has made me a better player. The whole 12v12 on a small map presents a challenging environment and I enjoy destroying the other players and dominating lobbies... especially when you find a good flanking route. But if they want to even contend with the top shooters out there, they can't just flop out a unfinished game.
-
I went 8-3 last night, lead both teams, -70 points. Then I go 11-0 and it gives me +10 (the generic point bonus for winning and doing okay). The matches are 12v12 and 3 rounds, so I was getting nearly 1/3 of the kills and loosing skill points.... Not very impressed with the lack of polish in the first EA/DICE game I have played.

new MOH maps and game mode coming 11/2

Wish the console game ran in 60fps.... -
I played with a bunch of my boys last night and we had a blast. We noticed that there are problems with keeping parties together and on the same team. Last night, somebody with a mic put it well, this game just still seems unfinished. It doesn't quite have that "finished polish" to it at the moment. But you think about the effect BOps will have on this game. Or any game for that matter. If they waited to release it after, sales would be significantly less. I almost wonder if they pushed the release for this reason and is why we are playing what appears to be an unfinished game. Don't get me wrong, I have yet to run into anything that is game breaking. There are so many things I like about this game. Most of the things I don't like really aren't that significant to the game.

I'm going to start with the bad. - Mic options are limited. No muting other players. - No dedicated servers (on console games). But console gamers are used to this. - Limited spawns. Both sides are generally given two spawn locations depending upon which side of the map your team occupies. - Players are either A) REALLY good or REALLY bad. - Only 720 video output. Very noticeable especially since I play COD in 1080. - Lack of prone. <-- Very difficult adjustment for COD players. The good - Balanced game. Nothing like Painkiller (which btw is a 300% increase on heath), Commando (300% increase on melee range), Akimbo, no-scopes, unlimited tubes, etc. - Aim assist can be turned on/off. - Sounds are AMAZING. I love it when your ears get blown out when there is an explosion. Shooting indoors sounds really great as well. - Other than the lack of 1080, the visuals are fantastic. When I played this game on PC at max settings... WOW. You can tell that the console games' graphics have been dumbed down but still are fantastic. - Tool said, the hit detection is perfect. - Some might argue that the classes are limited. You are given 3 class types. Rifleman - (gets a smoke grenade) Special Ops - (gets a frag grenade) Sniper - (gets a frag grenade) Each has its own guns. You can change your setup during the middle of a game. So if you need a silencer because you are going to go flank them, you can put it on mid-game. In my eyes this will encourage people to fulfill a role. Which will, hopefully, make for better play in public lobbies. Rifleman guns: M16A4, M249, F2000 / AK-47, PKM, F2000 Special Ops guns: M4A1, 870MCS, P90 PDW / AKS-74U, TOZ-194 Shotgun, P90 PDW Sniper guns: M21, M24, G3A4 / SVD, SV-98, G3A4 - Game modes are very fun and fast paced. Combat Mission - Coalition forces must clear 5 objectives while OPFOR must defend them. Team Assault - Team Deathmatch Sector Control - Domination Objective Raid - Demolition Hardcore - All game modes in HC mode - The game implements a scorechain system as opposed to a killstreak system. You earn points for helping your team. Kills, assists, capturing flags, planting bombs and even calling in scorechains earn you points for your scorechain. Scorechain Rewards 50 points - Mortar Strike or UAV 100 points - Rocket Attack or high grade ammo handout 175 points - Missile Stike or Flak Jackets for team (protection against explosives) 250 points - Artillery or FMJ ammo handout (wall penetration) 350 points - Strafing run or Counter UAV 450 points - Air Strike or Ammo handout (not sure what it is specifically) 600 points - Cruise Missile (basically a predator with a bigger kill radius than an AC130 round) or Ballistics vest (extra life) Defensive support action guarantee you points while offensive support actions only earn you more points by the kills you get. If you can kill a large group, you will be guaranteed your next scorechain. I like the way Wings summarizes MoH in the following video WingsofRedemption's MoH Videos NextGenTactics' MoH Videos Summary If you are looking for a game that you can hop on and have a good time playing, look no further. This game was acclaimed to be a competitor for COD. At this point no. However, I do see this game as a "testing" ground for EA. They don't want to recreate COD, they want to make a different and better version of it. If this game is successful, I would expect their next release to be a COD killer. Single player is fantastic. In my opinion, the AI is too dumb even when you are playing on Hard difficulty. At any rate, it is still very engaging. If you don't have the money or just want to try the game out, the single player alone will be worth the money. If you can get into the MP and bear through the learning curve, you will fall in love with it.

The best way I can describe this game is, real life. The MP is about as close to a real life fire fight as you can get. I may not be the best judge of what a real life firefight is.... but in COD, you can parade around the map like you just won 5 grand, in this game you can't. Whether that be due to map size, the amount of players on the map, or game mode. Fans who must rely on a COD simulation most likely will not like this game. If you are not already proficient in COD (on a skill rating... I'd say 1.5KD+ and a KPM above 2.00) and have good awareness, your transition will be much smoother. Anything less and you will likely take more time to get acclimated to the game because you will feel like you are being shot from places you can't see. There is no kill cam, so when you are first picking up the game, you will never learn what your mistakes are. Please be aware that it took me around 6-8 hours to become proficient on the PC beta (some of that was due to playing on a keyboard). I consider myself to be a fairly good COD player and there still was a fairly steep learning curve. It is my guess that those who have played both COD and SOCOM will really find this game to be fun for them as I see it as a combination of the two. If you have played BFBC2, you will probably feel right at home. Just much smaller maps and no vehicles. One cool thing about this game is how many games you can play in 1 hour. Matches typically last from 5-8 minutes. There is no pregame lobby between matches, the next map just starts loading. So if you just like to hop on for an hour or two during the night, you will get anywhere from 10-25 games in on the night. It is unfortunate that this game releases just a few weeks before BOps, that will really hurt this game down the road. But if BOps is a bust, this is definitely a viable fall-back option.

Heads up, the game is NOT easy. It is 12v12 on smallish maps. Hit detection is VERY good. No BS like MW2. Aggressive, fast paced, action. I did have some complications recording last night so the audio is not synced at all.

Rendering right now. Haven't been to sleep yet You have a number that is calculated, it is called skill. I think it has to do with stuff in the game like KD, completed objectives, helping team mates, etc. The lowest I was tonight was 66. That was pretty cool

I will be picking up MoH tonight and will be playing late into the night. Will be diving head first into the MP, I will give you my impressions and opinions of the multiplayer. Planning on recording some more gameplay video as well. The beta was great, hopfully the full MP is even better! Probably will do the SP later. Stay tuned.

MOH PC Beta. Here is some gameplay I recorded with FRAPS during the PC Beta this week. It is really funny to see a console player really struggle with PC controls. There were times when I can't find the button I was intending to use... lol.
-
I've been playing the PC Beta that is running from Oct 4 to 7. First day impressions, the game is really good. Think BFBC2 in COD. Much faster pace game than BFBC2. None of the starting guns appear to be over powered. The game IS NOT EASY. COD is a relatively easy game where it is easy to move around the map. It could have to do with the games being 12v12 on small maps. Day #2 of beta. Sniper rifles are quite popular right now... a little too popular. The bolt action sniper appears to be a 1-shot kill anywhere on the body. It could just be the maps (one of them is a mountain area). The game mode on that map isn't very good. One team has to defend sites while the other has to take them over. As the attacking team advances, they push the defending team back to other sites they have to defend. The other map/mode is a COD domination type on a small map located in a US base/stakeout. I prefer this map & mode over the other one.
