Kobe = ball hog for no reason. Hes no Lebron at least when Lebron hogs the ball its cuz his team sux Kobe does it cuz hes a bitch. Kobe not the best Lebron could take his team to the playoffs and get to the final game by himself Kobe needs some tall person just to make it anywhere. Kobe = garbage. The only reason they beat the Spurs is cuz Genobly was injured thats another 20 points they would have to worry about Spurs are gonna be Champions again best playoff team ever they aren't even trying right. Go Spurs.

I dunno how long you've been watching basketball. I have been a fan since I can remember. I lived, died, and cried through alot of era's and dynasties, and superstars. I watched the game emerge into something fantastic, with bird, majic, jordan, thomas, kareem, the doc, and on and on. I've watched the last ten years of the game degenerate into filth, and ME players running the show. And more recently watched Stern finally start taking back the game. Kobe is the shit and should be mentioned in the same veins of Jordan, Bird and the lot.

 

When Jordan first came into the league he was a ball-hogging punk. BUT HOLY SHIT WTF could he make you drop your drink watching him. It took him a more than a few seasons to progress. Hell the kid had no jumpshot. Jordan. No Jumpshot. Sound familiar? The biggest advantage Jordan had was the superstars he played with. You could not play like that and seriously have a shot at beating those other guys teams. The NBA elite at that time were rolemodels and lights out. So he learned faster to share, they put 2 other key players around him, and wow did he change the league. The only team that could kinda stop him had to foul out players trying to mug the guy. The bar was set insanely high for 15-20 years or so, ending with Jordan. The greatest WE years in basketball.

 

Then Jordan is the last real superstar, very much on his way out. The thugs and "ballers" start taking over the game, and then signs Kobe Bryant. This kid reminded us of early Jordan!! He had all the tools, he could make yer jaw drop every night out, and he could put up points. So now the kid is a superstar in the ME years. How would you expect him to act? If you have the skills to drop 40-60 a night and the rest of your team kinda sucks, what do you think he'd do? He did start to pull his head out and had a small setback, but he understands the game now. He has the rings to back it up too. Yeah, yeah, Shaq was there. What has he really done on his own? Jordan had pippen. All the similarities are there, the time frame is just different.

 

Kobe is a future hall of famer. He did/is helping make the league better. He still draws HUGE crowds and ticket sales. He is still highly marketable. Jordan and Pippen had alotta dirt too, most of it just never aired out. The thing with him and Shaq was all on Shaq. He was on the way out, never ever tried to improve his game. Didn't even have 2 great seasons left in him. Had some good seasons left, but the star was and is Kobe. Lakers front office knew it and so should true fans of the game. Honestly, Kobe got mad skillz yo!11!!

So Kobe playing the second half of the season with a torn ligament in his finger as well as an avulsion fracture in his shooting hand isn't dedication. He should have surgery. He chose not to have surgery and play the rest of the season and playoffs with a messed up shooting hand and has his team as the number 1 seed.

 

Eh, I don't doubt Kobe's skill. He's a very skilled player. Not a fan of his, it's just the case.

I will always have a place in my heart for Jordan above many other athletes. Jordan had a LOT of talent...but he didn't need to showcase it in some stupid video of his acting like an assclown with something to prove by jumping over a car in a self-made video. He took his skill to the court.

 

Same with Walter Payton, which I always loved. Guy was a fucking WORKHORSE when it came to plowing through defenses and getting the touchdowns. Never once did an endzone dance. Handed the ball to the ref and went back to get the job done again. Everyone else that runs in there thinking it's Improv Night or some shit (T.O. and Moss especially comes to mind here) take away a little of their own stoic legacy, I think.

 

My own opinion, though.

There's just something very unappealing about arrogance. Always has been.

It's not a commercial, I'm curious what exactly it is or who produced it or was it just a stunt Kobe did on his own......Interesting that's for sure. I'm suprised Nike hasn't come out and said anything about it yet....
