if you believe we are over there for oil, then your a idiot. we went to remove a tryant from power who committed crimes against his own nation. we are still over their to help the new government gain control over their nation. its not a over night process. OF course many Americans would like to see everyone come home but they also don't want to see another terrorist group take over the nation by fear. which is what Saddam did in the first place. and why wouldn't everyone love Canada they let all the terrorist on into their nation and cross the border into the US. pat yourselves on the back for that one. thats probably where Bin laden is now. ::)

You should do some reading and not believe all the red, white, and bush pamphlets at church lol

ps...i'm an American. Just for the record.

for all the America bashing you do around here I'm surprised you call yourself that. ;)

To date, five Canadians, Ali Alwan, Bernard Gooden, Vatche Arslanian, Jonathan J. Simpson and Michael Seeley are known to have died in the Iraqi conflict.

Yes, Canada choose not to be part of the invasion force citing the need for UN approval. Canada however did send a 50 member coalition force. Five Canadians is by no means a large number of Canadian deaths and doesn’t come close to comparison to US or other nations losses. You may choose to see it as insignificant from a general Canadian citizen’s point of view. However I would wager that the family members of those that gave their life in the Iraqi war would disagree with that assumption.

I tried to stay out of this *POLITICAL thread since Urgent Fury forums guidelines discourage any Political or Religions based discussions, they always lead to heated argument and since UF is about respect for one another political debate is better left to politicians.

To put this to rest and attempt to end this discussion.

THE FLAG CODE

Title 36, U.S.C., Chapter 10

The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.

So I would agree, it makes no difference that it is a video game, its all about respect. I’m sure it was a simple graphics mistake by Sega of America and not intentional. However I also can understand that intentional or not the display of the U.S. flag as well as any Nation’s flag should not be done in a disrespectful manner at any time or place. That includes in something as trivial as a video game

So that’s it this should not have even been brought up here however it should indeed be brought to the attention of the game developer since I’m not sure they are even aware of the error. Furthermore, the turning of this into a Canadian/US debate on individual National Pride degrades the respect for one another we hold so high in value. I ask everyone just refrain now from continuing this thread it has no merit. Let’s move on.

yes. Stupid lazy american division of sega. if this were made in japan, it would have been correct.

;D

if you guys haven't noticed, anything can be twisted. Patriotism, politics, religion, greed, and testosterone induced bravado are half the causes of war deaths in the world...so in my opinion, a joke... a machine to rage against, indeed. Or, to just play devils advocates and put a burr in the britches of some kids who let their opinions be dictated to them :)

Fight the power, learn to love, and please...PLEASE...dont eat yellow snow

lol ok, last post, cause i'm still kinda chuckling over this post..and not looking for a fight. BUT...one of the things I do love about this country, other than being able to pick which one of my cars to drive on any given day, or tanned blonds with shapely buxoms, would be this fact:

By utilizing the freedom to express an opinion or have a socio/politico/anykind of discussion on a Public Forum...I am being the most patriotic any citizen can ever be :) I mean...anyone that would censor or have a "what i want/believe > what you want/believe" attitude...well, then they're just a commie pinko ....you know the rest

Go McCarthy!

No we don't. Everyone has different DNA. That's what makes you what you are. Like Pathogen has that DNA that makes him a fruitcake. And Prolog has that DNA that makes him a trash-can head. I have that DNA that makes me enjoy tranny porn.

Ok I may have said too much. You get the point.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burning_of_Washington

The Burning of Washington is the name given to the burning of Washington' date=' D.C., by British forces in 1814, during the War of 1812. The facilities of the U.S. government, including the White House, were largely destroyed, though strict discipline and the British commander's orders to burn only public buildings are credited with preserving most residences. The attack was in retaliation for the U.S. invasion of York, Upper Canada (now Toronto, Ontario, Canada), at the Battle of York in 1813, in which U.S. forces looted and burned the city, including the Parliament Buildings of Upper Canada.

Sounds like it was pretty even..!?

Thats what I said in my post, there was no one winner in the war of 1812, both sides got what they wanted in the end....and the rest is history.

There are times that I am glad that I had two parents that are historians LOL

Did anyone else go and rent/buy this game to see for themselves?

Did anyone think it could be a tiny scratch that caused his game to have the flag upside down?

Or maybe he was glitching which caused the flag to appear that way lol just trying to bring some good light to this thread :-\

Or he rented the lemon of the bunch ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

ahh dude you dont see the broader picture, how many chromosomes do we have, from what you say then every human being in its own right is a separate species, we al share the same basic DNA structure, it is only how the molecules within it are arranged that give us our personality and traits.

I was simply suggesting keeping politics and religion out of threads. Yes, freedom of speech is a great right. But think about it in terms of a privately owned bar full of people with strong ideals- I am simply the guy letting you know its not a good idea and highly recomending you take it elsewhere... If your under 21 maybe I can reference something else for you to relate to.

Thanks,

i'm not a big fan of flag waving, card carrying drones :) national pride is one thing...but to take such offense over an error in a video game? is that really necessary?

Pathogen: I look at it, the same way you would look at 'how your name is spelled'. Or you start a buisness or company and they misspell or have it backwards. If someone made your 'sig' and spelled your name wrong, don't you think you would be a little uptight? ~ But our flag stands for even more than that. It is a mistake that should have been seen, being that we are such 'loved' (being sarcastice here!) Americans...in the World today! I even think SEGA should have a lawsuit brought up on them!

BTW: We can't be dicks about it though. Even 'Bush', makes it hard to state a claim (at Olympics in Beijing, August 10, 2008):

WHAT A 'DICKHEAD!' LMFAO!

~ MAYBE "WE'VE" HAD IT WRONG ALL ALONG, AND SEGA AND BUSH HAVE IT RIGHT? ~ HMMMMM... ;D

Army Regulation 670-1

the regulation states that when authorized for application to the proper uniform the American flag patch is to be worn, right or left shoulder, so that “the star field faces forward, or to the flag’s own right. When worn in this manner, the flag is facing to the observer’s right, and gives the effect of the flag flying in the breeze as the wearer moves forward. The appropriate replica for the right shoulder sleeve is identified as the ‘reverse side flag’.

I was just being funny with the 'bush thing'. Actually, for better or worse, Bush can display the flag however he pleases:

US Code, Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 10: "Any rule or custom pertaining to the display of the flag of the United States of America, set forth herein, may be altered, modified, or repealed, or additional rules with respect thereto may be prescribed, by the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States, whenever he deems it to be appropriate or desirable; and any such alteration or additional rule shall be set forth in a proclamation".

Well, this was the most entertaining thread I've viewed in a while. lol I'm not going to add or get anything riled up again, but only say some of you guys need to start cutting the pills in half! lol

Also, if in fact some of you believe WE are the world police and somehow think we are doing a great job at it, I submit to you Dafar? Rewanda? and about a dozen other horrible dictators and really bad dudes raping and committing genocide in these regions. Why have we not policed those areas? Ahhhh... see, it appears we will only get involved if there is something in it for us. Like oil maybe? Things aren't always what they seem.

Well, in 'MY' case, I think I should be doubling the dose? It's the only 'solution', which would explain...why I even posted in this thread in the first place! lmao
