Ok sure I had a few min. so I took a look.. not bad.. not bad at all. Maybe a little bit more researching to just weigh some options.. here are my thoughts.. although its more a matter of personal opinion rather than saying what you have put together isn't just fine.

Mainboard the MSI has a good price, I’m not that fond of MSI though, I’ve found Asus main boards to be the most stable. Since you’re going with Intel for the processor, I’d also look at a Intel DX58SO as well, everything is the same except for the following..:

Ram is similar at DDR1600 triple channel support however the DX only goes up to 8gb instead of 24.. lets face it who the hell is going to put 24gb of ram in? Heck 1gb is enough for most everything. The triple channel 6gb pack you linked is just fine IMO. Despite the lower max ram, the DX is a bit better than the MSI but not much. I'd take a second look at the Asus boards for their reported stability over MSI.

Video, The DX supports the new ATI crossfire platform. (ATI CrossFire technology enables two ATI graphics cards to work together for ultimate 3D gaming performance and visual quality)

Audio, The DX’s intel high def dolby with Sigmatel 9274D codecs and full optical outputs outperforms the rather run of the mill Realtek ALC

Lan, Gigabit Lan subsystem vs again a basic Realtek 811 (about the same)

The DX also has 4 more USB’s an additional IEEE1394, eSATA and Optical output.

Video that’s a nice card possibly the only thing in that price range even close is a NVIDIA Quadro FX 1700 by PNY with a full shader model 4, but it’s a bit more money. The BFG looks great, although I’d be a bit concerned with the heat issues reported in the reviews.

Hard drive.. no no no.. is that a typo? Only 74gb? Ok if anything needs changing it’s the drive you selected.. trust me forego the 10k rpm, that Western Dig is only 16mb cache and is not SATA II, go with a Seagate Barracuda, SATA II 1000gb’s 32mb cache at 7200rpm,, about the same price or a few pennies more but twice as fast, the lower rpm just means it runs cooler.. WestDig’s 10k rpm drives have a high failure rate and run HOT.. Seagate is king of the drives.

DVD,, for the same price you could get an NEC instead of the LiteON. And for a only a few dollars more you could go Sony. LiteON is the bottom tier. Better built NEC’s don’t start rattling away like the cheaper made LiteOn’s do.

Lastly the case… I’d probably go with a Antec Ultimate Gamer or a Thermaltake Soprano, or Shark.. or maybe the Antec Titan Black Dual Zeon with comes with a 580watt TruePower 2.O power supply included..

With cases the world is your oyster… don’t settle for a plain black box when you can get crazy custom when it comes to selecting a case.

I see a problem...... Your powersupply sucks.....that thing looks like a dvd burner and wont supply much :P

LOL.. that's the power supply for the DVD "Driver" you have to buy it to get the DVD RW to go any where.. you also need to tip the driver when you get there.

sorry my bad, I rarely take part in shoolmarm corrections.... I've been corrupted by a Rooster.

Thanks for the info Goat. The thing about the Intel Motherboard is that its only ATI certified I'm more of a Nvidia guys so I need SLI. The case well its a personal choice cause i like the looks of it and it matches pretty much everything i got which is black lol. The hard drive well i went on a friend opinion but ill check the barracuda. Anyways when i get home ill be able to type more and fix the links lol.

Hard drive..

Plz do yourself a favor and dont get any drive that is only 74gb..!!

Personally i would go with this for your C drive

C: drive (160gb) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136075

And this as a back storage drive (MP3's Pictures, movies, etc..)

Seagate (barracuda 1TB) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148278

or

Power Supply - http://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-750w-Certified-Power-Supply/dp/B000X2677A/ref=pd_sim_e_2

The rest looks pretty straight.. You might have goat give it another once over, once you've decided on what to get.. always double check compatability.!!

Hey chili thanks for the help, also the only reason I'm not getting the motherboard you suggested is because it doesn't work with the i7 since the CPU socket has to be an LGA 1366.

Also the thing with the raptor Hard drive it was recomended to me to use as the booting Hard drive.

but im mostly like not going to get it now. lol

Yeah I mentioned the Intel board because it is the first one with Fire-Dual Graphics, but I still favor the Asus boards.. although again that MSI isn't bad at all, just some issues on it seen on the reviews.

For the hard drive, this one is the ticket...

http://www.axiontech.com/prdt.php?item=82823

32mb cache SATAII Barracuda.. 750gb at less than that 74 gb western dig.

I agree with Goat. I cannot stress this enough, SEAGATE!!! 5 YEAR WARRANTY!!! VERY WELL MADE!!!

Western Digital is fine for mom and pop Pc's but also remember that WD were the HDDs that had viruses on them from Manufacturer so that gave me a bad taste.

I didn't see the power supply. IF you are going to SLI, especially 3 you want at least 1100 watts.

SHOP around!! NewEGG does have some good deals but you may find better. You can always order from 3 different locations!

Newegg.com

Tigerdirect.com

CDW.com - Sometimes pricey BUT sometimes you can get a deal.

buy.com

hell every now and then Woot.com will have video cards.

Hey Goat I took another look at the Asus boards, and to be honest not a lot of people seems to happy with them, but since the MSI board is falsely advertising that it's SLI motherboard when is not. I will probably be going for this Asus board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131359

Not the best one but it's a good price. Also thanks for the link for the HD that will be the one ill be ordering.

That's a good basic all around stable mainboard.. the thing I like about Asus vs others is their support. The PRO series and Revolution models of the P6T's have a bit more bells and whistles but if you're not using the onboard audio for high end sound (i.e. basic two channel or headphones) then the standard one is just fine. Its not Asus anyway so much as the lower tier *Realtek onboard sound. Again I'm not impressed with Realtek's offering for much of anything. Better sound cards and PCI Lan cards aren't that expensive and the onboard stuff is fine as you can always upgrade later. The onboard Realtek stuff is easily disabled in the bios.

I've found Asus boards setup and post really easy without too much trouble. Check often at Asus's site

http://www.asus.com/products.aspx

there are already a few updates including a bios update that fixes the standby issue in Vista. Again I've found that Asus really keeps up to date with their support downloads and fixes.

I think that's a good decision on the Barracuda.. You need to multiply the actual space you will use by around 10x.. with 750gb it will take a lot of software before you're using 10% or 75gb. The less drive space you actually use the better it performs.. that 74gb would have been 25% filled just by an OS. The 10k speed of the WDig would not even come close to make up for the difference in used drive space. In the past using one drive for the OS and another for storage was due to this factor. However today's huge drives sort of eliminate the need for that. You could always partition the huge amount of space, but again if you're using less than 10-20% of the drive its not really a concern. Some programs such as Photoshop perform better when a second drive is used for rendering, less of a factor if the main drive has ton's of free space, and you could always add a second drive if you ever wanted to.

If you plan on using it for PC gaming and plan on running some games from the disk, then take another look at a better DVD drive, the liteon is fine for a second DVD used for CD or DVD transfers but for games you want something faster and better quality. No need for two DVD R/W's so if it was me I'd add a non-RW DVD RAM drive with a higher transfer rate for gaming and use the second slower RW drive primarily for writing.

And yep as was mentioned the power supply is a crucial part. Don't over power it and don't under power it. The higher the output the higher the heat generated and the more you need cooling which requires more power... (its a vicious loop!! LOL). This takes looking closely at the spec's for your components and their power ratings. Try to find a happy medium and make sure the power supply has ample self cooling fans. From your list I'd say 580watts is bare min. and 1000 is max.. something in between that range is optimal.

Anyway, don't rush anything.. building a PC from scratch is actually a lot of fun and its always nice when someone ask where you got your PC and you can say.."I built it myself"

p.s. all this talk and looking at those new components has me wanting to build yet another new PC, even though I already have several. The one down side is whatever you spend today for the newest components will in no time at all have something better for the same or lower price.. its impossible to keep up.

Of course that doesn't mean I'm not already jealous of what you're putting together. LMAO!

So far I'm pretty happy with what I'm going to make. Mostly it will be for games, video editing, school work. I will be upgrading later on if I go SLI but mostly it will be the Power supply and maybe adding another 6GB of ram. lol. I'll be probably wait till Friday or Saturday to order the stuff to make sure I got what I want and that I'm picking the right things.Though the thing I wondering if later on I decide to buy a better board, all I have to do is remove the CPU and other hardware and it will work with no problem specially the CPU?

Cause a friend told me once the CPU is on the board you need do something to it so it can work on another motherboard, and another friend told me that ain't true. So I'm a bit confused. Also current power supply I'll be buying will be: hec ZEPHYR HEC-750DR-AT 750W Continuous @ 40°C ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V V2.91 SLI NVIDIA SLI Certified NVIDIA HYBRID-SLI Certified - 9800 GX2 CrossFire Certified Active PFC HYBRID-SLI Power Supply - Retail

I know what you mean Cow, in September I was supposed to build my pc but I thought I would wait better until the new year and I'm glad I did. Also the reason i posted this up here is cause this is my computer build and I really don't want to screw it up with garbage lol, but yeah you guys have helped me a lot. As far as your power supply, just make sure that it has enough or more than required.!!

Also yea they do have 1TB & 2TB hard drives, I have a 1TB in my PC (as back up/storage) and it is half full already. lol

The requirement for 280gtx is like a 650power supply with the i7 and all i believe so i think 750W is good enough.
