Well, I would have to go on record as to say that there were plenty of boos from the Obama crowd I was in when McCain took to the stage for his concession speech.....and plenty for every update that showed he took a state. And since I was in it, I heard more than just "boos." LOL I'm sure there were boos in the McCain rally for every state Obama took. I don't think booing is anything telling or proof of anything. Just disappointed people on one side of the battle, that's all.

To anyone with comments, positive or negative. I went to the rally here in Chicago. I would have went if it were McCain speaking. I would have went if it were Obama speaking. I would have went if it were Nader speaking. I went because I am a child of wonder and I am one who likes to EXPERIENCE. I have one tattoo on my body and it says "Whatever will bewilder me..." I went to the rally because, in my lifetime, I have NEVER had the pleasure nor the opportunity to go to a rally such as this in a Presidential election. Never. Candidate aside....I was also enthusiastic that it was an African-American man who I was going to see. SO many people here have said it before, and SO many MORE people here have thought it before: "I will never see a black man in office." There I stood, SEEING HISTORY with these two eye sockets. I wasn't electing to watch it from my TV. I wasn't electing to listen to it from my radio or watching it streaming on my computer. I say "electing" because in this ONE instance, I had a CHOICE. I wasn't living in some town where neither candidate had come to. I was fortunate to live IN a city that one of the candidates graced, EITHER with a speech to concede or a speech to accept. I didn't want to watch it from my living room, though I could have lazily elected to do so...I wanted to FEEL it all around me. For me...mission accomplished. I SAW history, and not just Tivo'd on my flat panel. I went there with an open mind and I went there with my camera to capture the things I would forget the next day and to cherish the moments I would forget when I get old. There were McCain slanders, for sure. But there were TONS of American flags everywhere. I posted about 20-30 pics out of the 200+ that I took. Some just plain didn't come out, ok? I was surrounded by 160,000+ people and some of my shots were "shaky" to say the least. The pettiness needs to stop here. And you know what? That's not ME saying that, that was McCain saying that. That was Obama saying that. The race is over and a victor is declared. As in everything in the past, it takes us to unite in order to fix ourselves and our country. And believe me when I say this: it's NOT just our country that needs fixing. We need to fix OURSELVES too. We cannot fix this by continued bickering. We fix it by uniting. We unite under one President. We unite under one flag. And we unite under one cause, and that cause is our place here in this big, wide world. While there, I saw my share of all kinds of people. One woman was asking Obama, when he spoke of the wars we're engaged in, to bring her brother back home. I heard her and I heard her pain. One arrogant and obnoxious black man screamed "I have one President and that President is black, motherfuckers!" I felt like reminding him that Obama is half-white. One man was there and I never noticed him to look at the jumbotron during my photo snapping because he was busy cracking jokes for hours with friends. One child was sitting on top of his father's shoulders and soaked in, with smiles and such energy, an event that his grandparents and great grandparents and hell, even his parents never thought their child might witness. I heard a very small slice of the country gathered in a downtown park in Chicago create a wave of excitement, hope, relief and wonder when the screen announced the next President. That wave ran right through my very skin and bones. I FELT it. I've been to football games, baseball games....NOTHING I have ever experienced can come close to the feeling of electricity that coursed through my body when those people screamed aloud in one united voice. I don't care WHAT it would have been for....that type of feeling you may only get once in your lifetime. I didn't go there because it was Obama. I went there because it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience offered to me and I took it. I took pictures to share with everyone. Not just those who voted for Obama. For EVERYONE. We live in a society now where we like to SEE, not just read about in old history books accompanied by 1 or 2 photographs. I took what pictures I could and what I presented was a slice of Chicago on election night, good or bad. I won't feel talked-down to because it was one candidate and not the other that I went to and I will not allow the acceptance of a new President of this country, a President CHOSEN by the people, be marred because someone thinks there was more hate-filled signs than positive ones at the rally. Don't be a maroon. What I witnessed tonight was HISTORY. Whether it is going to prove favorable history or failed history, NO ONE HERE KNOWS, so I'm not going to be the idiot to try and predict it. I don't think anyone here should. My professional title doesn't include "historian" nor "political analyst" so I'm not going to comment any further. I'm just an American. But NOW I'm an American that got to live to see the country take a tremendous step in electing a man without judging him by the color of his skin. I got to live to see the world know that America IS changing. The majority of this country's citizens have spoken. The majority of the electoral college have spoken. It was, and I quote, a "historic landslide" of a polling result. And the majority of the WORLD have spoken. Going by those statistics, and we all love statistics...."a billion Chinamen can't be wrong." Well, now a billion Chinamen AND billions throughout the rest of the world can't be wrong. But to me, the importance of the night was me being able to say "I WAS THERE." I don't have to read about it in the paper. I don't have to watch it on tv. I lived it, I breathed it, I smelled it, I felt it all around me for hours last night. I knew that if he got elected....there may be other black Presidents in our future, but we'll never again have a "1st black President" after this. There may be other election night rallies in the country, but I may never again have one happen so close to me and designed with such open arms for an entire city. So I went. And I woke up this morning knowing that I had witnessed, with my own eyes, something so significant and so historic.....and I let that flash bulb go to work. I was THERE. And like some of you, I have hope that it will all turn out ok. That we'll start making a turn for the better here in this country. And like some of you, I am also hesitant to say that everything will be roses now. I HOPE that America and the world will become better for this and I hope the right man was elected. What I wrote here, and what I took pictures of, was for the sake of chronicling what I SAW with my own eyes. It's not to say one candidate was better than the other in my opinion. I wish more of you and other "debaters" could come together to DISCUSS and leave the cynicism and the snide comments at the door. I was at a rally with over 160,000+ people in attendance. There were plenty of flags present. I'll do better and not shake the camera or get bumped too much next time. In the meantime, make sure to check out the multi-story windows lit up with "USA" emblazoned across a building, or an architectural delight that read "VOTE 2008" or, off in the distance, a building with its lights turned on in a way that showed you a 13-story tall American flag lit up in the night. You're going to see a SHITLOAD of American flags in all the tv reports and the papers today. What I showed you, you won't see anywhere else in any mainstream media. I'm not saying I was proud of the idiots who peppered a great rally with bullshit like "Fuck McCain." Just because I snap the pic doesn't mean I agree with the method of delivery. I saw a few things and I heard a few things that just made me roll my eyes and want to slap them once and say "behave." But that was about 8-12 individuals in a SEA of 160,000+......so quit being cynical. There's an idiot like that in every party. EVERY party. This just happened to be a much bigger party than I'm accustomed to going to, so I afforded it more than just one idiot.

LOL....I was there as well.......REALLY there. I went to the Grant Park rally and let me tell you, you could feel just about every emotion of the night throughout the night. It was unbelievable. Both McCain's speech and Obama's speech were awesome. I even told some stupid bitch to shut the fuck up when she was yelling at McCain to sit the fuck down when the man was conceding and attempting to rally a nation behind his new Commander In Chief. I took plenty of pics as a documentary of my walk through Chicago on the way to the rally, AT the rally, and the walk back out through the empty streets of Chicago. Enjoy. (And if you look closely, as I point it out to you with some text, there is a badass pic in there that I HAD to take where my namesake was printed on a reporter's mic! LOL) CHECK OUT THE NAME PRINTED ON THE MICROPHONE! LOL I HAD to get a close-up of that thing!

Commander Fury and U-Freq will be back on the airwaves OFFICIALLY next Monday, the 10th of November. After that, we'll be on our regular schedule from that point on. Thanks for the patience!

This will be the last day this thread remains active. After a new President is elected, there's really no reason to keep this open. We've allowed this thread to go on as an essential "no-man's-land" so to speak here on the UF forum. The ONE place where we're going to allow the political discussion to happen, only because we realize that, with the current economic crisis that is affecting us all, AND the fact that this is probably one of the more important elections that ANY of us will be voting on in our lifetimes (hopefully the last "super-duper-cataclysmic-important-one-before-Armageddon-comes-election), we saw the necessity to allow our players here in the Community have an outlet for this topic. After a new President is elected, it's back to gaming! The creators and Staff have tried to stay out of the topic as much as possible only because we know what kind of a dangerous ground this can be, going from "discussion" to "idiot-speak" in 10 seconds flat.

Hey everyone.... My friend is looking for a Nintendo DS Lite in (hopefully) either Onyx, Red or Blue, but may take another color. She's looking to buy a cheap one in good condition from someone who isn't really playing it anymore, and she's hoping someone may need a little cash for the upcoming holiday season that she can buy one off of. If anyone here has one or knows someone who's looking to sell it off, please send me a PM and we can work out the details. She's good for the sale and actually went through this same means of acquiring a Nintendo Wii when she wanted one and it worked out fine. So again, if you have one or if someone in your clan has one and wishes to get rid of it, I may have a solution. Thank you. - TOW

I just sit here in disbelief that they would PRINT in the game's manual that one of the game room options is to turn OFF team-switching in the middle of the map....and it just plain doesn't EXIST. IMAGINE if they also printed that you had the power to turn off RESPAWNING but, in fact, you really couldn't? I'm SICK of team-switching. ESPECIALLY when you're UNABLE to customize your weapons and load outs before that first round on the new side you switch on just in case you needed something different than what you went in with. You have to DIE first in order to get a chance to do that. BUT, if you were swept in the first leg of the match and you lose that first round because you were still stuck with a sniper rifle on that close-quarters match-up, and you lose the first round of this team-switch because of it.....well, then you're shit out of luck.

We're hitting our new U-Freq schedule and I know that Fury IS putting the finishing touches on the newest show. Once it's out, we're BACK on a regular schedule! You should be hearing his masculine voice THIS week.

Urgent Fury will be hosting a sticky-locked thread here in the coming days that will be featuring your clan banner as well as a small paragraph of text describing your clan. We have the NETWORK section on the UF website but would also like to have a quick-hits type of location for all the clans of UF. HERE'S what you need to do! __________________________________ Send a PM to me, Undertow, with the following info EXACTLY as described: - We need a clan banner image from you NO MORE than 500 wide by 100 high. This is the visual advertisement for your clan. - We need NO MORE than 5 sentences describing your clan that we will print beneath your clan banner. If you supply more than 5 sentences, then your text will be shortened down to the desired size. - All clans wishing to be a part of this thread will NEED to have participated in at least ONE Urgent Fury tournament, up to and including the current UF: Black, and still be an active clan here in the UF community. - Let us know in the PM if you are a PS3 clan, an Xbox clan, or BOTH. The thread will be put up towards the middle or end of this week and will be added to on a weekly basis as the PMs come in. PLEASE coordinate with your clanmates so that we do not receive multiple submissions from multiple players from the same clan. But make sure that your clan leaders are aware of this so that they can get their submissions in ASAP. Banners will be listed in the order in which they are submitted CORRECTLY. Thanks! - TOW

Is there anything about a "distance factor" in any of that book? Like....does a player just need to pan around and as long as an enemy player appears on the screen, no matter how small, and the target would pop up as a red dot? I mean, that would be pretty generous.
-
Downloaded the patch, played for an hour. Nothing really new to me. I kept seeing that typical "There was an error.....some features may not be...." message that pops on your screen 5 or 6 times in a row even after this patch. That was annoying. My player uniforms were the same as they were saved before, but my gun load out was standard and I had to reset those. At first it didn't recognize I was in a clan. I had to GO to the clan tab and then it had to search for me and then finally I had my tag. It still didn't affect my guns, though, and I had to re-save them. Didn't get dropped while playing, but then again, I only played for an hour.

Call of Duty: World at War co-op, Zombie Shooting Game Mode

Typically, gaming clans, such as the many you'll find here in the UF Community, are run by a set leadership structure. A clan leader. Possibly some "officers" or some ranked title. No matter how power is shared or used, more often than not, a gaming clan is merely a dictatorship. Run by one or a small few with their direction being the sole path for the clan and no change in leadership terms. The Question: COULD a clan exist where there is a mirror of US government where there is, say, a President, a Vice President, a Chief Advisor, an Ambassador, a General....and so on? A clan where each office has an elected TERM so that, no matter the date, there is a clan vote on a new President and other roles and that vote is final? Instead of a Presidential four year term, a clan leader would be "President" for, say, 6 months or 1 year. To do with the clan as he/she wishes. Taking in all dynamics of this type of leadership structure....IS RUNNING A CLAN LIKE A US GOVERNMENT MODEL POSSIBLE?

Due to some conflicting rules pertaining to the number of maps played in UF: Black, the rules have been slightly amended to ensure everything is cohesive. The rules on the website have been amended. The rules on the forum in the BLACK section have been amended, with all changes found higlighted in green. RULE SET 3 has a clarification to it. RULE SET 8 has a deletion in it. Please inform your fellow clansmen. Thank you. - TOW

We'll see how it goes. Perhaps we'll have some seamless, clean Black wars on Thursday then.

Call of Duty: World at War co-op, Zombie Shooting Game Mode
TOW-19 replied to Nemesis's topic in Playstation
LOL, if the glowing eyes were gone, that looked like it would make a really cool and fun REAL game. -
We would like to inform everyone in the UF community that there are small, slight changes to the rules of Black. We are also going to be addressing some concerns regarding SOCOM and its servers. 1: Please see the updated rules in the UF: BLACK INFO section near the bottom of this forum and on the main website page. Anything in the rules found in RED here on the forum list of rules are new changes for BLACK, nothing of which is Earth-shattering. A: The specifics of who is the home and away teams on the schedule, as well as the conflicting rules on which team makes the room are now clarified. The FIRST team listed in a match in the schedule is now the AWAY team. The SECOND team listed in a match in the schedule is now the HOME team. 2: Please see the updated schedule for the entire season of UF: Black in the UF BLACK INFO section near the bottom of this forum and on the main website page. It now shows, without vagueness, which team is the AWAY team and which team is the HOME team. There shoud no longer be any doubt as to which clan is AWAY or HOME and which clan is supposed to make the room. 3: There is MUCH concern today about the SOCOM servers. Believe us, we're in it as much as you guys are, and are none too happy about it, much like you guys are. Unfortunately, this is a problem that Urgent Fury has NO control over. We debated today about possibly postponing the tourney by another week to see if any precious patches will be hitting SOCOM this week. The outcome of the conversation will see the UF: BLACK wars go on AS SCHEDULED. We come to this conclusion for a few reasons. A: If we push it back a week, and nothing is fixed then, then by precedent we will need to push it back another week...and maybe another week. We simply, in scheduling, cannot do this. We wish to make sure that UF: BLACK finishes before the holiday season in December. PLAYOFFS will occur in the first week of December and that's as far into December we'd like tourney play to go, simply to give players ample time and focus for their families without putting a strain on their clan and play time. B: This is strictly an EVALUATION tourney. There is nothing really on the line here. There is no fee for the tourney, there is no prize for the winner. This is simply a tourney that UF uses to evaluate clans for potential inclusion for the upcoming TACMAP tourneys, the first one hitting UF as early as January! We don't just invite winners of UF: Black. We invite everyone who embodies the spirit of respect and honor that UF tourneys are built upon. We can still accomplish this with a few drops. We urge clans not to take wins or losses too seriously with the state the servers are currently in. 4: There are questions being asked about which SERVERS the war rooms need to be made in. With the current dynamic of SOCOM not showing a private room in the server view screen, there is no need to state a "home server" for all UF wars. The servers are increasingly crowded and they aren't even found in proper order yet on the server list. We hope and ASSUME that this is just something else that needs to get fixed to make it easier on its gamers. ALL CLAN REPS have been informed to work out a way to get the combatants into the proper PRIVATE room for your wars. Typically, invite messages into the game will pull a player right into the room when they his JOIN on the side bar list, so it almost matters not which server a room gets placed in. We ENCOURAGE the Clan Reps to work out PRE-WAR in the Clan Rep section a good way to find each other on war night. A child-board has been provided to the Clan Reps so that they can exchange friend invites for the night so that opponents can be invited into a war room. These are the newest changes Urgent Fury is making for your UF: Black experience. We here at UF are doing what we can to work with the constant fluctuations we're seeing on the SOCOM servers. Though we're not happy with the state the servers are in, we realize we're powerless in such matters and are instead concentrating on working around the problems as much as possible. For as much patience we're having to put into this, we're asking that the players of UF: BLACK exhibit the same amount. There is only so much you can do as a gamer in regards to the servers, so you're in our same boat. All we can do at this point is continue to look for that almighty patch that will fix everything, and in the meantime, try our best to have a good time with what we're given with these servers. UF: Black is launching as-scheduled and wars will start tomorrow evening, Tuesday. We wish all clans the best of luck and we truly hope you enjoy your tournament experience. We will continue to monitor the SOCOM servers to make sure that at least MOST of the tourney can proceed on-schedule. We only ask that you have patience with us as we are running this tourney under the same dysfunctional servers that you are playing on. We're hoping that all clans here understand that, in the UF evaluation tourneys, it's never about how you finish the tourney. It's always about how you travel the whole way through. Good luck. - TOW
